Tracey’s Review – 4 Stars
Trinity Ewing has moved to Madison to get a fresh start for herself and her son Micah. Noah Benningfield was born and raised in Madison, and has spent years trying to forget the loss of his youth.
Noah and Trinity meet when he begins restoring the house that she and Micah have moved into. Both have pasts that they would like to forget, and find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other. Trinity is afraid that her ghosts will come between her and Noah, and Noah feels that he doesn’t deserve Trinity. Still, though, they find themselves growing closer and closer.
The love relationship in ‘Deeper Than Need’ is woven amidst the back story, a mystery involving the girl that Noah loved and lost when he was a teenager. Shiloh Walker does a great job of introducing secondary characters that keep the reader guessing exactly who knows what. As well, the heat between Trinity and Noah is well-written, and I found myself hoping that they could get past the obstacles keeping them apart and move forward together.
I don’t want to give away too much, as the story depends upon revealing pieces of information bit by bit to get to the heart of exactly what happened in the big house that Trinity now calls home. I enjoyed this book very much, found it easy to read, and did not want to put it down. I look forward to the next book in the ‘Secrets and Shadows’ series to see what Shiloh Walker has in store for her characters.
