New Release + Release Blitz + Excerpt: East End by Nana Malone

Catch me if you think you can…

East End by Nana Malone is now live!

There is no rest for the wicked.

And I have to confess, I have indeed been wicked.

I have one job. Protect the team by keeping Interpol Agent, Nyla Kincaid, off our backs and out of our hair by any means necessary. In the chess game of revenge, the queen reigns supreme. And unfortunately for me, she’s ready to topple the king.

She knows what we did. What we stole. Who we burned. And she won’t stop until she unearths all of our secrets.

I might be a member of the Elite, but I’m done being a gentleman. If Nyla won’t stop, she’ll force me to play my hand.

I’m just as ruthless as she is, but unlike her, I don’t believe in rules.

My name is East Hale, and these are my confessions.

EXCERPT:

You have a problem.

Yes, I did. And the problem’s name was Nyla Kincade. Bringing her shawl up to my nose, I took a quick whiff and that heady combination of need and irritation lingered in my blood, sending me to the edge of desire. I watched her. I had never trained the camera on her bedroom, never looked in there, but the sight from her living room was what I focused on. And that was somehow more intimate. I watched her as she cooked and then plopped on her couch to watch TV. My favorite was her in her unicorn fitted pajamas. But that night, she wasn’t wearing her unicorn fitted pajamas. She strolled out of her bedroom in the tiniest pair of shorts I’d ever seen.

What I wanted to do was pick her up and put her over my knee, but a phone call would have to do.

Her words were quiet as she answered. “Hello?”

“Agent Kincade. You’ve been very naughty.”

Instead of hanging up on me, which she probably should have, she sighed. “East Hale. To what do I owe this very late phone call? Did you mistake my phone number for a phone sex line?”

“I can get women to talk dirty to me any time I like.”

Her chuckle was low. “I’ll bet you can.”

“For such a naughty little thing, I’d have thought you’d be more contrite.”

She strolled past her windows, hips sashaying as she went. All the blood in my rational brain rushed to my dick. “You are going to have to be more specific. This has been that kind of day. Did I scratch your precious car? Perhaps I made your day more difficult. And if you are going to tear me a new one, I would advise you maybe take a number. The line for that can get quite long, you see.”

I frowned at that. She’d had a hard day?

Not that it matters to you in the least.

Nope, it didn’t matter. But still, I didn’t want to make her day worse.

“I’m sorry you’ve had a shitty day. I have an idea or two of things that might cheer you up.”

Her chuckle was soft. Lilting. “Oh, I’m sure you do. But alas, that’s not going to happen. I don’t kiss arrogant men.”

“Now, don’t add lying to your day’s transgressions.”

“What is it you want, Mr. Hale?”

“Well, Agent Kincade, I would like your assistance. It seems that someone has bugged me.”

There was a beat of silence. “That’s probably something you should take to the police.”

“Aren’t you the police?”

“I’m Interpol; my cases are different. If you like I can provide you with the number—”

“That won’t be necessary. But thank you for being so helpful. I think I’ll speak to your section chief again. I met him once. He seems like a reasonable sort.”

More silence.

That was okay, she knew I had her. If she wanted to play cat and mouse, I wanted her to be very clear on who was the predator and who was the prey. “I have to say, I’m impressed. It was at the hospital gala, right? When I was so busy falling into your eyes and you were flirting with me.”

That earned me a scoff. “Please, when I flirt, you’ll know.”

A smile teased my lips. The more she defied me and fought back, the harder I became. “I know Interpol plays by a different set of rules, but you ought to play by the rules of the country you are stationed in, and illegal bugging is a big no-no.”

“Good thing I would never do such a thing. I’m a good little agent.”

Fuck, I was so hard.

As if she could read the direction of my thoughts, she perked up. “Also, Mr. Hale, dare I ask, how have you gotten hold of my phone number?”

“Ingenuity.”

“Right. Ingenuity.”

“I decided to call you to tell you that whatever you think you’re doing, you’re in way over your head. You need to back off.”

“That’s the thing, Mr. Hale. I have a tendency not to give up on anything. I mean, of course, that’s if I was interested in you. Which I’m not.”

I chuckled then even as I rubbed the soft silk of her shawl and inhaled. “You are intriguing, Agent Kincade. So let me help you out. Why don’t you tell me what it is you want from me, and I’ll tell you if I can give it to you or not.”

She’d disappeared from my camera feed, and I could hear rustling, as if she was moving around in her bed. “Mr. Hale, I promise that you don’t have anything I want.”

“Are you sure about that? I think you’re intrigued by me. I think you can feel the hum between us. I think that after that kiss, you could still taste me. Hell, I would wager you can still taste me right now. You know that low pulsing between your thighs? The one that you’ve been trying to ignore? The one that you’ve been telling yourself isn’t good for you? That’s because of me. I make you feel that way. And it really, really is a shame that you thought you could get away with bugging me. Because I’ve made a decision, and I don’t intend to be fair.” I rubbed the silk of her shawl with my fingers again, the faint hint of honeysuckle making me ache.

“First of all, Mr. Hale, I want to remind you that you’re talking to an Interpol agent. Second of all, I’m not afraid of you. I have dealt with bigger and badder men. And I put them in jail too. You poke at me, and I’ll poke at you.”

“Oooh, kinky. Should I remind you that you fired the first shot?”

There was another beat of silence. “You can’t prove that I bugged you, so it’s a stalemate.”

“That’s the best part. I don’t need proof. You’re the one who’s afflicted with that burn, not me. So since it’s open season, I should probably mention to you that I really, really like the shorts you’re wearing.”

There was a hitch in her breath, and I could hear her swallow. “What?”

“They’re cute. And also, you should probably close the blinds of your flat. A T-shirt that says, ‘Woke up fine as hell’ and boy shorts? While I appreciate the view, I will say, so does half of London.”

She came back into the living room and whipped around, searching for me somewhere on the street. “You arsehole.”

“If you say so.”

“You want my address? I can give it to you. Come find me anytime.”

I liked her. She was fire and spunk, and just a bit shy of crazy. And I wanted her. And that was a real big fucking problem.

The real question was, what was I going to do about her attempt to tap us? Because if she tapped my fucking wallet and I hadn’t been paying attention, what else had she gotten her hands on? “Sleep tight, Agent Kincade. We’ll be speaking again soon.”

The London Lords are back, and I am one happy reader. Yep, Nana Malone’s got more up her sleeve, and I could not be more excited to be hanging out with East Hale and the boys again.

This book, and the books in the See No Evil trilogy before it, are some of my favorites lately. Really smart, really techie guy, a heroine that has something to prove and isn’t afraid to do whatever it takes, a great cast of supporting characters, and off-the-charts chemistry. ALL of the yeses to this, and, please, may I have some more…

And, speaking of more, do I care that Nana is throwing out cliffies like it’s her job? No, I do NOT, because there’s that more…more action, more intrigue, more heat, more East…I am totally here for all of it. This is the kind of read that I’m looking for, and Nana has nailed it. If this sounds like your cup of tea (and, seriously, it SHOULD be!), grab EAST END. You’ll love it. And if you haven’t read the See No Evil books, you can’t go wrong by reading them, too. Go on, get them all, and enjoy. ❤️

USA Today Bestseller, Nana Malone’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she “borrowed” from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, in the meantime Nana works out her drama, passion, and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.

Rifts and Refrains by Devney Perry is now live!

From the moment Quinn Montgomery sat behind her first snare and cymbal set, she was destined for fame and glory. As Hush Note’s infamous female drummer, she sets the rhythm for the band’s chart-toppings hits. When people tap their feet to their music, it’s to her pulse.
Quinn is content to live in a world away from her family and the cage of her youth. Her only regret is leaving Graham Hayes behind without a goodbye. No matter how many sold-out stadiums she plays, no matter how many crowds sing her songs, his voice haunts her when the music stops.
When a family tragedy forces her to return home to Montana, she plans to leave the second she’s paid her respects. But seeing Graham again turns her life upside down. As a boy, he wasn’t able to make her stay. As a man, he might be her future.

Excerpt

She took one step before stopping. A smile tugged at the corner of her mouth, the same corner I’d kissed earlier, and I fought the urge to stand and capture that mouth again. Her smile broadened, though there was pain in her eyes.

“Colin is a cool kid. You’re a good dad, Graham. I always knew you would be.”

She might as well have stabbed me in the chest.

“Thanks,” I said, watching as she walked away.

Fuck me.

When had I never loved that woman?

Maybe that kiss had woken me up. Maybe it had made me realize how goddamn lonely I’d been without her. I had Colin, but there was a corner of my heart that would always belong to Quinn.

I should have followed her nine years ago.

Because now it was too late.

Tracey’s Review

Can you go home again? It’s an age-old question, and one that Quinn Montgomery isn’t eager to answer. She left everything that she loved behind 9 years before, breaking free of the constraints that bound her to her home and forging her way alone. When family obligations call her back, she’s not sure what awaits her, and wonders whether time has healed those old wounds.

Although RIFTS & REFRAINS is a bit of a departure for one of my favorite authors, at its heart, it has all of the things that make me return to Devney Perry’s books time and again…family, community, and love. This second book in the interconnected trio of standalones that make up the Hush Notes series was an all-in-one-day sort of read, the kind of book that you just don’t want to put down. Quinn, Graham, and their heart-melting second-chance love story had me from the first word, and hoping that they could work through the things that had separated them all of those years ago to reach that HEA that seemed impossible.

I love that Devney has written Quinn as strong and successful, a woman that knew that she needed more than the life that was unfolding for her, and went out and grabbed it with both hands. She literally left everything behind to pursue her dreams, and is having to face the reckoning of a life lived apart from those that she loves, and finding her way back to a place of understanding and acceptance all the way around.

Graham is swoony, but for more than the obvious reasons. It’s his dedication to home and family, his love and commitment to his son, and, ultimately, his willingness to finally hear Quinn and meet her where she is now, and love her enough to support her dreams, that does it for me.

RIFTS & REFRAINS is a solid example of Devney at her best, writing about the things and place that she loves herself. 5 easy stars, and a recommendation for lovers of second chance small town reads to grab this book and enjoy. ❤️

Tracey’s Review

Oh, hi. I’m just over here, trying to put my heart back together. You know, the usual follow-up to finishing any book by A.L. Jackson. Once again, Amy has wrung every possible emotion out of me, written a book that destroyed me and built me back up in a way that only she can, and I am loving it.

I knew. I mean, having read the first two books in the Falling Stars series, I knew that Richard Ramsey had some dark secrets, secrets that he was holding close, secrets that had the power to destroy everything that he held dear. What I wasn’t expecting was his depth, the way that his heart beat for so many people, and the lengths that he had gone and would go to to share that love. I fell in love with Richard, in all of his beautiful brokenness.

Violet. I do believe that I fell in love with Violet, too. Carrying such a heavy weight in her heart, she’s proven herself stronger than the despair that changed her life to bring beauty to the world around her. Her heart beats with the amor, amor, amor that helped make her the person that she is, a bringer of light and love.

I’m not going to lie, there are dark things in this book, things that broke my heart. But, as much as it is almost physically painful to get through her books sometimes, Amy, bless her, is a bringer of light and love, too, so take solace in the knowledge that there is joy on the other side. FALLING INTO YOU is light and darkness, gain and loss, pain and joy, and it is one of the most intense books that I have read lately. It’s also, no surprise, one of the best books that I’ve read this year, and is, of course, an immediate favorite. If you haven’t dived into this world, you are truly missing out, and the members of Carolina George should be very high atop your TBR. Do yourself a favor and get to know them all. ❤️

P.S. Do not read this book before you have to be anywhere, because you will be a blubbering mess. ❤️

Tracey’s Review

It has been a hot minute since I’ve read a book by Kristy Bromberg, and I could not have found a more enjoyable way to dive back in than FLIRTING WITH 40. I’m not going to lie, this book is pure unadulterated pleasure, and I enjoyed every single page.

As a woman of a certain age, I identified with Blakely. Not only did her husband leave her for a younger woman, Blakely has had a hard time remembering that she is all of that and a bag of chips. For real, she’s smart, savvy, beautiful, funny, and, yeah, she’s almost reached the Big 4-0, but with maturity and her experience, she has seriously got so much to offer.

It takes a chance encounter in a bar with a very attractive and attentive man to kick off her journey back to herself, and what a way to go. Slade is my absolute favorite new book boyfriend. With plenty on his own plate, he jumps in to help Blakely see herself the way that he sees her, and regain the confidence to go for the things that she both wants and deserves in her life.

Kristy had me from the first page with this book, earning it a spot among my top favorite reads of this year. If a book grabs me by the heartstrings and won’t let go, while still managing to be sassy and sexy, too, it’s a keeper. FLIRTING WITH 40 is 4.5 stars of delightfulness, and a definite must-read for fans of contemporary romance with some angst thrown in. I could read books like this all day long, and if Kristy’s writing them, I’m all in. Make a place on your TBR for this one, and enjoy. ❤️

Darkness.

Desire.

The night he took me he told me I belong to him. He proved it on our wedding night. And I believe him when he says he’ll keep me safe. He won’t let anyone touch what’s his.

Excerpt
“Welcome home, Brother.”
I look up at Damian. Beautiful Damian.
He shifts his gaze to mine.
“Didn’t I tell you to leave the locked doors alone?” he asks me, but his voice is strange. Echoing in this dusty, forgotten place.
The music starts again. That eerie sound of piano keys played slowly, so fitting to this place, this room, this house.
My head is spinning.
The other man, Damian’s brother, says something. His voice is similar to Damian’s but off. Like his face. Wrong.
Damian tucks hair behind my ear.
I push his hand away, push his arms away. I turn slowly. They’re both watching me now, waiting to see what I’ll do.
And the tune keeps playing, the chords slow. Sad.
I need to look at him.
Can they hear my heartbeat? Blood beats like a drum against my ears.
Run.
Run.
But I can’t run. I meet a monster at every turn. One standing behind me. The other holding me.
He warned me about the monsters. How many more hide in this house?
“Cristina,” Damian says.
I keep turning, my body still pressed to Damian’s.
I’ve taken shelter in my enemy’s arms.
He’s in my periphery now. The monster. The brother. Tall, like Damian. I see the coat. It’s wet. He was the man walking back toward the house. It wasn’t Damian at all. What is out there that they go to see in the dead of night?

Ashley’s Review
Natasha Knight has delievered yet another fantastic story with Unholy Intent, book 2 in the Unholy Duet.

Family betrayal, secrets and twists you don’t see coming make the best ingredients for a dark mafia romance.

Damian and Cristina are a force. Their chemistry it unmatched. Their relationship is unhinged. I loved the slow burn from book one into the combustible chemistry in this book.

Explosive action and suspense with great character development and a riveting storyline make this a must read for any lover of dark romance.

Excerpt
The walk and fresh air do me good. I feel invigorated when I get to an open-air textile market I remember from driving past here once. The smell of grilled chestnuts from the vendor stand mixes with the odor of chemical dye from the fabric. Weaving through the aisles, I drag the familiar perfume into my lungs. Despite my situation, my spirits lift. It’s like the smell of roasted beans when entering a coffee shop on a cold morning or the welcoming scent of ink and paper in a bookstore on a lazy afternoon. Only, it’s the cocktail of threads and colors that makes my heart beat faster. With it comes the rush of memories from the fashion academy and, like an answering echo, a wave of nostalgia. I miss this. I miss the slide of fabric through my fingers and the soothing hum of a
sewing machine.
A piece of organza hanging from a wooden rail lifts in the breeze. The floral print catches my eye. It’s pink and lilac, soft and lovely. I said I was done with sewing, but maybe it’s because I’ve been stuck on my old designs. Romantic designs. Walking to a stand with a much statelier roll of navy linen, I rub the coarse fabric between my fingers. Maybe I was looking at the wrong dreams.
“Would you like this fabric, ma’am?” the vendor asks.
I look up. The woman has a friendly smile. A red scarf tied around her hair brings out the warm tone of her skin and eyes.
I don’t have any money on me. I didn’t even know this was my destination when I started walking. “Oh, I’m just browsing.”
“Please cut the lady however much she wants,” a deep voice says.
I spin on my heel. The sight of him takes my breath away even after all this time. With his hands shoved into his pockets, Maxime’s stance is relaxed, but I recognize the power running underneath. As always, he’s dressed immaculately. Even his casual street clothes scream of sophistication and a keen sense of fashion. A roll-neck black T-shirt and fitted pants are rounded off with a brown coat, matching scarf, and short boots, but it’s not the clothes that define the man. It’s his presence. It’s how he dominates the space and demands attention. It’s what that look on his face promises. Women stop talking to stare. I stare, too. I take in the familiar sharp chin and deep lines, the crooked nose and bump on the bridge, the gray eyes that cut through defenses and intentions, and
the strong mouth that makes knees weak. His hair is ruffled, curlier from the humid air, and the longer sideburns give him an artistic look. He could be an eccentric painter or a brilliant rocket scientist, a mafia boss or a man bathing a woman on his knees. He could be a jet fighter pilot or a diamond tycoon. A woman’s imagination could run wild. What every female here knows with
instinctive knowledge is that those hands, those hidden hands, can stroke a cheek as gently as they can squeeze around a throat. This is a man who can make a woman’s fantasies come true, and his gaze is trained on me with possessiveness. Adoration. Lust.
Our gazes remained locked as he takes his wallet out of his pocket and pulls out a few bills.
The vendor clears her throat. Her voice is husky when she asks, “How many meters would you like, ma’am?”
“Three, please,” I say, ripping a number from the sky.
Maxime’s lips lift in one corner. The smile makes his unconventionally beautiful-unattractive face seem more predatory than friendly.
Leaning closer, he presses his lips against my ear and says in English, “Let me buy this for you.”
The foreign accent hits me between the knees. We’ve been speaking French since my return.
I’ve forgotten what his deep timbre sounds like when he whispers in my mother tongue. He smells like the king of winter, of cold weather and citrusy days. The perfume of chemical dye retreats as that winter heat rushes over me. The man and everything he stand for overwhelm my senses. That my mind can focus on his words is a miracle. I think back to his story, to the man who had two choices, the kidnapper who could take his target kindly or with force. I don’t want force. I don’t want kindness. I want honesty.
“Why?” I ask with a dry throat.
His breath strokes over my ear. His words are self-assured and seductive. “Because I can.”
Pulling away, he creates an avalanche of cold when he takes his heat with him. I look down
to where he’s rubbing the fabric between his fingers in a gesture that seems oddly like a caress. I shiver as if feeling that caress on my skin.
Because he can.
Ashley’s Review
Diamonds are Forever is the last book in this Trilogy by Charmaine Pauls.

The last book left us with a cliffhanger of epic proportions so naturally I was eager to get my hands on this final book.

This book picks up with Zoe headed back to South Africa after getting help from her brother. Maxime is beside himself and is determined to get Zoe back.

There’s a switch in power I felt. Where Maxime was in control in the previous books, you see a shift to Zoe. I liked seeing this driven and strong side of her.

This book showed the true growth of both Maxime and Zoe as individuals and as a couple. They have both evolved and changed. While Maxime says he is incapable of love, we see he can very much love Zoe in his own way. Zoe has become stronger. She’s driven. You see a hardness to her in this book.

Overall I enjoyed this final book. I loved the growth of Maxime and Zoe and enjoyed getting to see Zoe interact with her brother.

4.5 stars!

Ashley’s Review

Dark enticing chemistry that explodes off the pages, Vibe has me captivated beyond anything I expected.
Aura escaped her past but hasn’t forgotten it. The nightmares are still vivid and the past is still very real. Adapting to adulthood she’s content, she’s got a handsome boyfriend, a best friend and a successful photography business but somethings still amiss.
Ruby is beautiful. She’s mysterious. She’s sexual.
When Aura and Ruby meet, the universe shifts. It’s aligned in the stars. It’s fate.
Their love is dark. It’s tragic. It’s twisted. It’s real and nothing will destroy it.
This book is F/F but I’m not going to lie, it was hot AF!!!
This book will stick with you long after you’ve finished. Amazingly written and completely intoxicating, you’ll find yourself consumed by this story.
5 stars of twisted perfection.

Meet Liza James

I remember writing my first book when I was just a kid. It was a short children’s story that my mom loved so much, she took the time to get our friend to illustrate all of the pages.

I had decided back then, that when I grew up I was going to be an author. Funny how we grow up and things change so drastically, right? As I got older, I began the age old search of trying to figure out exactly what I wanted in life.

I got married at 18, moved across the world with my husband and spent the next several years trying so many different things in order to find my fit. I fell in love with so many things as well, including photography, calligraphy, music, and letterpress.

But writing and reading have always remained a constant love of mine. Oddly enough, it was the only thing I never spoke about. I kept it very private, starting several different stories and ultimately not finishing them. I never spoke about what I was writing with anyone, or very very few people once in a while. I didn’t even share what I wrote with my family or my husband.

This year, a lot of things changed. I found myself coming to a place in my life as a mom, a wife, a friend, but still not as MYSELF. I continued struggling with my own identity, struggling with who I was outside of being a wife and mother. So, I made it a goal to write and finish my first novel in 2019. I decided to CHOOSE my path and create it for myself, choose my identity and allow my passion for writing to come at the forefront of that.

I am a mother. I am a wife. I am a friend and a lover of many many things. But I am also a writer, I’m an author, and loving every moment of embracing myself in all of those things.

So, here I am today, writing this blurb about my “story” and laughing to myself just a bit. Because this is just the beginning of what my story was and is going to be, and I’m ready to embrace whatever this new adventure has for me.
