Synopsis

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover returns with a heart-stopping new series… Welcome to the Point.

There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.

Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.

Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.

Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she’d have for a guy like him. But it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize . . . some boys are just better when they’re bad.

Better When He’s Bad is the outstanding debut book in the new series Welcome To The Point by Jay Crownover.

Jay Crownover is known for her bad boys. The Marked Men series has captured the reader’s hearts. She has taken her bad boys to a whole new level in the Welcome To The Point. These are men are the true definition of bad. They live on the edge in a very dangerous world. Their lives are lived on the wrong side of the law. Their world is cut throat, violent, and unforgiving. They make no apologies for their chosen path, they embrace the violent world, and stand tall in world where only the baddest survive. They do not want to change their lives. They will not change their lives. One can only hope they are on the right side of their lives, other wise you are just another bug to be squashed.

Welcome To The Point. Shane Baxter has lived in The Point all his life. He has embraced the violent world and learned to survive. He is a thief, a convicted felon, and a man with a vendetta. He is deeply connected to the criminal underworld and has paid a high price for that connection. He has spent the last five years in prison. He was set up and did the time. Now he’s out and he wants answers. He’s willing to take down any man that had a part in his incarceration, including his best friend.

On the day of his release, Shane is on a mission. First is to get laid, second is to find his best friend Race, third is to get answers and find out who turned him over to the cops, and finally to take down Novak, the ruling crime lord in the Point. What he didn’t count on was Dovey Pryce. She is the kind of woman Shane has avoided all his life. She is clean, pure, honest, and seemingly innocent. She is also his best friend Race’s illegitimate sister. Dovey is searching for Race as well. The two will have to team up to find Race before Novak, the cops, and the Point cash in their claims on his life.

Dovey and Bax will band together in a dangerous game. They will go up against some of the most evil players. Allies will be enemies. Enemies will be allies. The prize is Race. It seems Race has what each and everyone of them needs. He is the missing key to the Point.

Dovey and Bax will find there is a better prize in the end. They will accept their lives in the Point and make the most of what they have. The most important thing is that they have each other’s back.

Better When He’s Bad is more than a hot, steamy, and sensual romance. It is a gritty and edgy adventure that will leave the reader’s on the edge of their seats. It is fast paced and full of high octane action. The characters will capture the reader’s attention on the very first page and have them wanting more in the end.

This book is quite different from the Marked Men series. The characters are harder, violent, dangerous, and criminal. Jay does not try to redeem them or their lives. She gives an honest portrayal of their world and makes the story work. The villians will be hero’s and the hero’s will not get your typical happily ever after. The characters are not redeemed and do not change their lives in the name of love. They embrace their lives. There is good in every person and there is bad in every person. It is a matter of finding the perfect balance between the two and chosing a life that is better in their world. The title is perfect for this book….Better When He’s Bad.

Jay Crownover has wrote an outstanding book that will keep the reader’s captivated! I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to the next book in this series!
