Blog Tour + Review + Giveaway: It’s Alway’s Been You by Victoria Paige

“I’ll wait forever, sunshine. I loved you then. I love you now. I’ll always love you.”

Former Navy SEAL Travis Blake is a rising star in the security business. In two short years, Blake Security Inc. has become highly sought after by the who’s who in Washington DC.
But unbeknownst to many, Travis is haunted by the mysterious death of his wife three years before. He carries with him the guilt of not being there to protect the one person who meant everything to him. He has buried his wife, but his heart refuses to accept that the body six feet under is hers. His obsessive search for her leads him deep into the trenches of covert ops—and everything is not what it seems.
Caitlin Kincaid has been on the run for a while. The sum of her memories began three years ago when she awakened with a broken arm and leg and a severe concussion. Hunted down by a secret group within the U.S. government, her companion persuades her to stay off the grid because of the standing kill order on their heads. One night, while fleeing assassins, she is left on the side of the road with a cryptic message: “It’s time for you to stop running. I’m not the one you love.”
When Travis receives news that the woman who has turned up at the American Embassy in Berlin could be his wife, he wastes no time getting to her. He is unprepared for the devastation that shreds him when Caitlin looks at him with no recognition in her eyes. Amnesia is a challenging enough obstacle for winning the love of his life back. But with lies defining the past three years of her life, Caitlin becomes wary of anyone’s help.
Love was never the problem. A marriage cannot survive without trust. As sinister forces threaten the bond they are trying to rebuild, trust must come quickly or one of them will die.
* Strong sexual content and language. Disturbing situations.

It’s Always Been You is a cross between The Vow and The Long Kiss Goodnight.

The action and suspense will blow your mind and the chemistry between Travis and Caitlin is scorching.  This is one of the best books I have read all year.  I could easily see this book being turned into a movie.

Travis Blake is a retired Navy Seal and is hot, hot, hot.  He is now a private security contractor and works with several intelligence agencies. Travis lost his wife Sarah Blake almost three years earlier and has not been the same man since.  When he gets news that his wife may still be alive he does everything in his power to get her back.  The only thing is that no matter who he knows or how high up te chain of command he goes getting Sarah back is never going to happen.  Because Sarah is gone and Caitlin Kincaid took her place.

If you have not seen the Long Kiss Goodnight you need to rent it.  What has happened Caitlin Kincaid is very similar to what happened to Samantha Caine in The Long Kiss Goodnight.  Some books have playlists.  I could give you a list of movies that this book could be inspired from.  When I say this could be turned into a movie I am not kidding.

Caitlin Kincaid has just lost the man she has been in love with for the past three years.  Jase left her by the side of the road and he was injured pretty badly when he left.  She has no choice but to go to the American Embassy and get help.  She knows that she has been involved in something illegal and is almost positive that she is going to be hauled into jail.  You can only imagine her surprise when she is shoved into a room with a man who claims to be her husband.  She knows she has suffered amnesia but there is no way she was married.  She has been with Jase for three years.  He would have told her and he never would have slept with a married woman.  Besides her name is not Sarah Blake.  She has no clue who this Sarah person is.  Her name is and has always been Caitlin Kincaid.

The problem here is that Travis is head over heels in love with his wife whether she can remember him or not.  He refuses to let her go.  She is just going to have to fall in love with him all over again because losing her a second time is not an option.

Victoria does an amazing job developing her characters in this story.  Travis is your typical Navy Seal in that he is very fit, sexy, and stubborn as all get out.  He is the ultimate alpha and you know it from the beginning to the end.  Sarah is feisty and mouthy and also very stubborn.  They go tit for tat and she holds her own with him.

The storyline has so many twists and turns that you will not know who Travis and Sarah should trust.  Just when you think you figured it out guess what? You don’t.  I kept thinking the good guy was a bad guy and at times he is a bad guy but then is also a good guy.  I am telling you that keeps you turning the pages because you have to know if the operation is a scam or not.

I can’t recommend this book enough. It has the perfect balance of action, adventure, angst, and sexual chemistry.  Bravo Victoria Paige.  If your other books are half as good as this one I think I will have died and gone to heaven.  Thank you for writing such an amazing read.

Meet Victoria Paige
I work as a freelance database administrator, and when I’m not geeking out, I write romantic suspense novels. I live in Richmond, Va—less than two hours away from Washington DC—so most of the settings of my books are in the nation’s capital—of course, I’m not averse to creating fictional towns and cities. 😉
When I’m not arguing with the alpha male characters in my head, I love to watch high-octane action movies. I think Jack Bauer is the shit, which is why most of my characters are such badasses bent on saving the world from evil doers.
I love reading adult contemporary, paranormal, urban fantasy, historical, romantic suspense, and a few new adult fiction as well as military non-fiction.
