One of Cosmopolitan’s Best Books of 2017!

Lord Alaric Wilde, son of the Duke of Lindow, is the most celebrated man in England, revered for his dangerous adventures and rakish good looks. Arriving home from years abroad, he has no idea of his own celebrity until his boat is met by mobs of screaming ladies. Alaric escapes to his father’s castle, but just as he grasps that he’s not only famous but notorious, he encounters the very private, very witty, Miss Willa Ffynche.

Willa presents the façade of a serene young lady to the world. Her love of books and bawdy jokes is purely for the delight of her intimate friends. She wants nothing to do with a man whose private life is splashed over every newspaper.

Alaric has never met a woman he wanted for his own . . . until he meets Willa. He’s never lost a battle.

But a spirited woman like Willa isn’t going to make it easy. . . .

The first book in Eloisa James’s dazzling new series set in the Georgian period glows with her trademark wit and sexy charm—and introduces a large, eccentric family. Readers will love the Wildes of Lindow Castle!

The Smutty Librarian’s Review:

Lord Alaric Wilde has been overseas for many years, avoiding home and memories of his deceased brother. While he’s been away he’s penned quite a few travelogues, and they’ve been published to fair success. What he doesn’t know is that, in his absence, he’s become the most celebrated man in England. Women have prints of his adventures posted on their walls and steal bricks from the borders of his home as souvenirs. Alaric finds this infuriating, and when he meets a woman who has never read his books he is immediately entranced. Willa, for her part, is a private person who wants nothing to do with the notorious author who attracts female fans so easily. Even if his presence makes her heart – and other areas of her body – flutter and warm.

This first installment of James’ new series, the Wildes of Lindow, was everything I have come to expect from an Eloisa James novel: smart, sexy and readable. The hero and heroine of Wilde in Love were quirky and witty, with distinct personalities and motivations. The plot moved quickly, pulling me in from page one and keeping me hooked throughout the novel – I finished it in two days (only because I couldn’t stay up all night to finish it on day one). The secondary characters – Willa’s friends and Wilde’s family members – were well developed, rounding out the novel and framing the plots of future books in the series. I highly recommend this one, as I loved everything about it…except that I now have to wait far too long for book two!
