Synopsis
Two stories so deeply intertwined, you’ll think you know how they intersect…but you’ll be wrong….
Zack Martin
The day I met Emily Bennett my whole world changed. Sure, we were just kids, but I was old enough to know my life would never be the same. She was my best friend. My destiny. My fate. I wasn’t wrong…I just didn’t know how twisted fate could be.
Nikki Fallon
After the death of my mother, moving from my dark and dreary trailer park to sunny California, I was focused on one thing – finding a sister I’d only just learned existed. Falling in love with him wasn’t part of the plan. But he filled a void I never knew was possible to fill. He had to be my fate. My destiny. Until the day I finally found out who my sister was…and how twisted fate could be.

Except
He looks up and I watch his eyes take me in. Slowly. They rake over me, dropping from my eyes to my glossed lips down to my exposed shoulders. Taking his time, he follows the neckline of my simple, yet body contouring sundress, lingering when he reaches my full breasts. I’m sufficiently covered, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t aware that the dress showed off my assets well. Tight around my chest, gathering snuggly at the waist, with a scant amount of cleavage. Just enough coverage to still leave something for him to imagine. And I watch his face change as his imagination takes off running.
His eyes drift down my legs, tanned now from the eternal California sun. Momentarily he’s lost in what he sees and doesn’t even notice I’m watching him leer. Totally worth the extra effort getting ready tonight, I couldn’t be happier at the reaction I get. Eventually, his eyes make their way back up to mine and I arch one eyebrow, letting him know he’s been caught. A normal reaction might be to look embarrassed or perhaps even flustered a little. But not Zack. Instead, he flashes me a wicked grin. “You look incredible.” He’s the one doing the leering, yet I’m the one who ends up blushing.
Michel’s Review
Left Behind by Vi Keeland and Dylan Scott was amazing. It was an emotional book that took the characters on a journey into the past as well as dealing with the present and finding the hope in the future. The characters were compelling. The readers could easily identify with their lives.
Left Behind starts out in a very different format than most books. There are duo story lines that are completely separate from one another. These duo story lines feature the leading characters and their lives. Once the reader gets a good grip on who they are and how they have been molded by their life experiences, the stories begin to join together. It moves forward to present day. The two characters are brought together by coincidence. As they begin a special friendship, they come to realize that even though their circumstances are different, they have more in common than they thought. They understand each other’s emotional pain that has affected them both deeply. Soon the friendship evolves into a beautiful love affair that is healing their souls and giving them hope for the future. But the past has a way of catching up with them and tears the beautiful bonds to shreds. Secrets will be exposed that will fracture their souls. Fate brought them together, fate is tearing them apart. Can they change their destiny and make Fate their champion. True love will always survive if you are willing to open your heart.
Zack Martin loved one girl his entire life. Emily was his best friend. Their friendship moved forward into a committed relationship. Zack and Emily are on the fringes of adulthood and maturity. They have grown up together but maturity seems to be taking them both in different directions. Emily is becoming a woman that he doesn’t really know. He is finding it hard to accept the changes. Although he is trying hard to hold on to the relationship because of their past, he realizes that maybe he needs to let it go. When he finally works up the nerve to move on from the Emily of the past, the new adult Emily will find a way to hold onto Zack forever. Zack is left buried in guilt and disgust because he tried to move on. His guilt will consume him and almost destroy his life. That is, until he meets Nikki. Nikki opens his eyes to a new world, a world without Emily controlling his destiny. A world where he can find the kind of love his soul needs.
After the death of her mother, Nikki Fallon discovers her mother has been keeping deep dark secrets her entire life. She has an aunt and sister she never knew existed. She is moving to California to live with her aunt and discover the secrets of the past. After the loss of her mother, she hopes she will find her family again. Along the way she will meet a beautifully broken boy. She will find the kind of love she never knew existed. It looks like her life is moving in a positive direction. That is until she discovers the secrets her mother took to her grave. Some secrets are better left behind. Some secrets will destroy everything she holds dear. Fate has taken her mother, fate has led her to Zack, and fate is dealing the next hand. Nikki and Zack will either be left behind or be given a new hand for the future.
Left Behind was a powerful book. It touched upon many emotions. Nikki and Zack capture the reader’s hearts.
Vi Keeland and Dylan Scott have written an astonishing book. I highly recommend Left Behind.
Author Bio:
Vi Keeland
Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn’t change for the world. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!

Dylan Scott
Dylan Scott is a New York trial attorney, wife and mother of four. She believes her job as a trial attorney is a subcategory to the field of entertainment more than law. With a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature she believed teaching English was a destined career choice until she realized her life long talent of “argument” could actually be her job. A recent, fairly boring, midlife crisis resulted in a brief stint as a middle school English teacher which confirmed that she wasn’t ready to give up the law. Dylan has also taught legal courses at the college level and worked with at-risk inner city youth in the roles of mentor and coach. She is co-author Vi Keeland’s biggest fan.
