Synopsis

Priscilla Winslow has a mouth that spits fiery sarcasm faster than I can throw a touchdown. But I’ve wanted her ever since I saw her in that Bo Peep outfit on Halloween. Yep, I’m a sheep who will follow that little hottie anywhere. There’s one problem…she hates me. Just because we ended up in jail and quite possibly ruined both our futures…

They’re changing the rules…

College Quarterback Preston Rush is living the dream. He’s leading his team to the National Championship and days away from earning a ‘first round draft pick’ label. When he meets Little Bo Peep at a Halloween party, he thinks he’s scored big. Instead, he wakes up in a jail cell with the corseted beauty. Because of him, she’s in trouble and when he discovers her true identity, he realizes, his nightmare is just beginning.

The always shooting-for-perfection Priscilla Winslow can’t believe her good deed has cost her a soccer career. Even though she knows it isn’t Preston’s fault, she can’t forgive him for the disaster that is her life. She just wishes her damn body would get the message. Every time she sees him, it’s all she can do not to kiss him.

When everything crashes down around him, Preston will have to decide if doing the right thing is worth losing it all.

Michel’s Review

Rush by Shae Ross is the perfect book for fans of sports romance and new adult romance.

Soccer vs. Football… what sport is more important.  According to the college alumni and administration, football takes precedence.  Football brings in the money.   Is it fair that other athletes and other sports take a back seat to the football team? It’s a question of ethics and fair practice.

When star soccer player Priscilla Winslow decides to step out and engage in some fun in her senior year of college, she never realized that it could jeopardize her academic and college soccer career.  Going to a Halloween party at a local bar with friends ends up being a very bad choice.  Not only is she dressed in a mortifying sexy Bo Peep costume, she is also engaged in a bar fight and arrested.  The culprit that caused her problems is Chewy, otherwise known as star quarterback, Preston Rush.

When Priscilla and Preston are arrested it could end their college sports careers.  The outcome is very different for each of them.  The incident is swept under the rug for Preston.  His place on the team is not in jeopardy.  The coaches, alumni, and administration are willing to look the other way.   Priscilla’s outcome is very different.  She is suspended from the soccer team right before their championship playoffs.  Her scholarship is in jeopardy.  She is no longer eligible to be a collegiate athlete.

Preston promises to help Priscilla out and testify at her hearing.  There are several parties that don’t want Preston testifying.  It could expose a multitude of problems for the football program and individual players that are breaking the rules.  It could ruin the entire football program.

Together Priscilla and Preston unravel the mystery behind the attack that led to the bar fight and arrest.  The secrets could ruin quite a few athletes, the school program, and administrator/ coach careers.

It is no longer an issue of what sport is more important.  It is a legal issue.

Priscilla and Preston not only come together as athletes, they also find love in the midst of the mess.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rush and would highly recommend it.
