Synopsis

From New York Times bestselling author, Samantha Towle, comes a new sexy, romantic suspense standalone novel…

Daisy Smith has spent eighteen months of her life paying for a crime she didn’t commit. Now out of prison, she has only one focus—to get back custody of her younger brother, Jesse, who is deep in the foster care system. Desperate to rebuild her life and show the system that she is responsible enough to care for Jesse, she takes on the only job available to her—working as a maid at the Matis Estate.

On day one of her new job, Daisy meets Kastor Matis, the only son of the owners and her new boss. An enigmatic, handsome Greek god of a man, Kas is closed off, cold, and…well, kind of a bastard.

The more time Daisy spends around Kas, she starts to see there might be more to him than just his cold, bastard ways. He may actually have a heart beating in that frozen chest of his.

But Kas has secrets, too. Secrets that he’s determined to keep.

Secrets make Daisy curious.

And you know what curiosity can do…

Michel’s Review

Daisy Smith made a huge mistake.  She trusted the wrong man and lost everything.  After spending the last few years in prison for a crime she didn’t commit, she’s ready to get her life back on track.  She has to get custody of her younger brother back.  The first step is securing a job and finding a place to live.  She has to prove she is a stable person that lives a crime free life.

She lucked out when her best friend provided her with a home.  Her probation officer found her a job as a maid on the Matis Estate.  Keeping the job is another matter.  The estate manager is the elusive moody son of the owners.  He keeps sending Daisy mixed signals.  One moment he is curt and unapproachable, moments later he is compassionate and understanding.  He is a complete mystery.  A mystery she knows she must stay away from.  Her head tells her one thing and her heart tells her another.  She sees a wounded soul that has had a troubled journey in life just like she has had.  Maybe them working together is more than fate, maybe they were meant to heal one another.

Kastor Matis has lived a nightmare that no person should ever experience.  He has been emotionally dead, going through the motions but not living life.  When Daisy Smith comes to work for him, his soul begins to wake up.  It wants to live again.  First he must let go of the past.  In order to do that he has to follow through with his revenge.  His revenge could ruin Daisy’s future and hopes of getting her brother back.  The only thing to do is let her go and let her live the life she should of been living all along.

Samantha Towle has once again written a compelling story that is unlike anything she has written in her previous books.  Both characters were complex and in very difficult situations.  Life had not been kind to either one of them.  Love and happiness are theirs for the taking, they just need to learn how to reach for it and hold onto it.

I highly recommend Unsuitable by Samantha Towle.
