New Release + 5 Star Review: Dreams of 18 by Saffron Kent

Violet Moore is in love with a man who hates her.

Well, to be fair, she kinda deserves it.

On her eighteenth birthday, she got drunk and threw herself
at him, causing the biggest scandal of their sleepy suburban town.

Now, everyone thinks she’s a slut and he has disappeared.
Rumor has it that he’s been living up in the mo
untains of Colorado, all alone
and in isolation.
But Violet is going to make it right.

She’s going to find him and bring him back.

No matter how cruel and mean he is. Or how much he hurts her
with his cold-hearted and abrasive ways, she won’t give up.

And neither will she think about his tempting lips or his
sculpted muscles or his strong hands. The hands that she wants on her body,
touching her, feeling her skin…

The hands that make her want to forget everything and kiss
Graham Edwards – Mr. Edwards, actually — again.
Because you don’t go around kissing your best friend’s dad,
do you?

Even though that’s all you ever dream about.

“He looks savage. Beautiful but uncivilized.” -Violet

When I first heard about this book and that it was an age gap/forbidden romance I knew I had to read it, what I didn’t know was that this book would be so much more than just a romance story about an 18 years old girl and the crush she had on her best friends dad. No, this story was everything. Beautiful, heartbreaking and completely out of this world.

Violet has spent her life invisible. Born out of an affair, her father wanted nothing to do with her and her mother regretted her. Her sister was the cherished child and Violet has spent her life in the shadows feeling alone and unwanted.

When new neighbors move in next door and she develops a close friendship with Brian, her life finally feels more alive… but it also introduces her to Mr. Edwards… her best friend’s dad.

Graham is harsh. He’s not friendly and carries the name “the beast” for a reason, he’s feared by his students and players. A football coach and single father, Graham is closed off. Cold. Unwelcoming.

On the night of her 18th birthday, alone and forgotten once again by her family, Violet finds herself drunk and smelling the roses in her best friend’s backyard. When his dad comes home and catches her, Violet vows that she will get her birthday wish and she’ll kiss Mr. Edwards, the man she’s had a crush on since she was 16.

This book was fantastic! It had so much depth and substance that it will literally suck the reader in. The characters had real depth and personality, they jumped of the page.

This book will bring the feels for sure. There were so many times that I felt the anxiety that Violet was feeling. I felt her emotions as if they were my own.

The chemistry and development of Violet and Graham is mesmerizing throughout this book. The reader will see true transformation of characters as the story progresses.

This is a 5 star read!!!!
