 Michel’s Review

The Demonica Underworld series by Larissa Ione is one of my favorite paranormal series.  She has created a complex world of other worldly species with a very complex hierarchy in their individual species as well as their overall role in the underworld. Not only do the species have a role in their world they also have a role in the human world.  Some races are evil and others are heavenly.  They are the races that keep the balance in the world.  They are the key to the survival of the world.  Within each species there is also good and bad among their race.  It’s their job to protect the race, keep the balance, and complete their tasks.

Razr was a warrior angel until he screwed up his task.  He was kicked out of heaven until he could recover his precious gem, a gem with power, and return it to heaven with the other two gems that create the balance of power.  He is not a fallen angel nor is he a heavenly angel.  He is in limbo with his wings bound until he can redeem himself.  He was sent to the Grim Reaper to train the earthly angels in the arts of war.  He punishes himself daily for his mistakes.  He is also punished by the heavens on a regular basis to remind him of his misdeed.

When he senses his gem has resurfaced, he’s ready to reclaim it and find the other lost gem.  Little does he know that the keeper of his gem is another species he was unaware of.  He also doesn’t know that his gem is the life force for the new owner of the gem.  Like everything in this series, there has to be a balance.

Jedda is a gem elf.  Her life-force stone is the key to restoring Razr place in heaven.  To give him back the stone would be suicide.

Razr and Jedda are finding that even though they should be mortal enemies they are deeply attracted to one another.  When an evil fallen angel forces them to hunt for an artifact from hell as well as the two heavenly gems, both their lives are in danger.  They need to find a solution that will defeat the fallen angel, restore the balance, and find a way that they can remain together alive, well, and happy.

Once again Larissa Ione had my full attention.  I have been intrigued with Razr for quite awhile.  His mysterious presence and dynamic personality had me wondering what his real story was.  It was a doozy and did not disappoint.  I am so happy that he found his place in life with someone who truly will love him just as he is.
