Throughout the ages people have been fascinated with the Legend of Camelot.  It is one of the most loved legends and epic romances of all time.  Katy Regnery has put a new spin on the beloved legend and makes the readers fall in love once again with the idea of Knights and chivalry .  Her epic fairytale spin off redefines the definition of a knight in shining armor and gives our modern day world a new kind of hero.

Dark Sexy Knight revolves around a dinner theater portraying the medieval times.  Our hero, Colt Lane, is the dark Viking Knight that battles the White Knight on a nightly basis.  His victories are few and far between, just like his life.  Life muddles along that way until he meets his own Princess, Verity Gwynn.  He now has something to fight for, something to protect, something to cherish.  Winning her heart was easy, protecting her from the evil kingdom and his darkness will take every bit of honor and self control he has within him.  Princess Gwynn is a package deal, she has to take care of her special needs brother, Ryan.  The evil knight, Artie, is determined to cut Ryan down and steal her affection.  Verity knows a real knight in shining armor when she sees one and it is not the one that shines on the surface.

Verity and Ryan were down on their luck when they met Colt Lane at a job fair.  Colt not only helped them get jobs but also rescued them from the violent neighborhood they were staying in.  He gave them a chance to get on their feet,  He respected them as individuals and offered friendship.  He helped Verity give Ryan the security and protection he needed in his life.  He wants to share his life but Colt has his own secrets, his own battles, and another princess he has to protect.  Can he let Verity into his world and will he be able to give her the happiness she deserves?

Once again Katy Regnery created an emotional story that stands out in any era.  She portrayed a very realistic world that revolves around those with special needs.  She also added a multitude of layers to Colt’s and Verity’s lives that added that extra something to their relationship.  She blended her characters lives, struggles, and triumphs into an enchanting story.  I could not put this book down and felt enriched after reading it.

On a personal note, I want to commend Katy for creating this story.  The special needs community is very dear to my heart.  For many years I worked with special needs students.  All of those very special people own a very big space in my heart.  They have given me more friendship and love than most people experience in a lifetime.  They were a true blessing in my life.  Katy captured their beauty, innocence, and unconditional capacity to  love.  She captured their spirit.  Thank you Katy… Dark Sexy Knight was truly a beautiful book!
