Jordan and Levi are in for something special and much better than a new career. They are finding love.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I would of liked to see more romantic interaction and dialogue between Levi and Jordan. At times I felt the book focused on PTSD issues and female equality issues a bit too much. I wanted more romance.

I went into A HIGHLANDER WALKS INTO A BAR with only a few things in mind…it’s by Laura Trentham, an author that I’ve read and enjoyed before, it’s a small town romance, of which I’m a fan, and, it’s set in the South, a win for me (note the blog name… 😘 ). I could not be happier with this book, which left me smiling from start to finish and laughing out loud on more than one occasion.

As hard as she tries not to be, Isabel is wide open, a creative soul intent on hiding her light under a bushel. It takes a very sexy Scot on a mission to retrieve his erstwhile uncle to open her eyes and give her the push she needs to embrace the things that really make her heart sing. Turnabout is only fair, because spending time with Isabel in the very special town of Highland, GA, opens Alasdair’s eyes to the really important things in life. The romance is sweet and sexy, a little bit steamy, but just the right amount for Izzy and Alasdair, and there is plenty of humor, which makes for a nice balance and a really entertaining and heartwarming read.

Quirky supporting characters, including Isabel’s mother and Alasdair’s uncle, make the road to their enlightenment all the more delightful, and help create a very special place that I’m looking forward to visiting again. Which is great, because there is more Highland to come, and I can’t wait. 💖

This is Wild by Natasha Madison is book #2 in the This Is series and one of my favorite books by this author to date. This story, which is a romance at the root of it, really tackles so much more than the development of a relationship. This story was everything. The storyline was deep and undertook some tough subject matter, but it made me love the main character Viktor even more. The pacing was perfect. This story was a slow burn but so worth the wait as we watched both characters grow throughout this story.

Viktor is a hockey star. He’s hot. He’s tough but he’s broken. Recovering from drug addiction and just out of a ninety-day rehab stint, he finds himself traded from his beloved Los Angeles team to New York. Striving to maintain sobriety and re-discover himself along the way, he finds himself in deep when he starts to have feelings for his GM’s sister and teammates sister in law, Zoe.

Zoe is independent and successful. One of the top real estate agents in New York she’s on the up and up. Growing up surrounded by hockey her whole life, she has no interest in hockey or getting wrapped up with anyone playing it. But when her brother asks her to show one of his new players some houses, Zoe may have a change of heart about hockey players.

This story is a slow burn, but the burn is worth it. The story is about self-discovery and conquering demons. About learning to love yourself before loving someone else. The chemistry between Viktor and Zoe is hot! It’s sweet and simmering. It’s deep and passionate. There’s so much more than just romance in this story. Definitely worth reading!

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers
flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals.
You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or

Opening up the latest release, Until December by Aurora Rose Reynolds is like going home for a long awaited family reunion and reconnecting with loved ones. After six years and over a dozen books, the Mayson family has become dear to my heart and a part of my imaginary family. Each and everyone of the family members is unique, special in their own way, and full of heart. Their code of honor, personal ethics, and dedication to those they love is admirable.

December Mayson is Asher Mayson’s quiet, studious daughter. Unlike her sisters, she would rather be in her jammies, reading a book, and enjoying the quiet. Although she’s the quiet daughter, she is full of the Mayson spirit.

December met Gareth Black at her cousin’s wedding. In a drunken stupor, she gave into temptation and had a one night stand with her cousin’s gorgeous neighbor. The next morning when she woke up and realized what she had done, she did the run of shame rather than the walk of shame. She had broken the sister code and slept with a guy one of her sister’s had spotted first and laid claim to.

Gareth Black is a single father raising two boys. He works two jobs to make ends meet. He has little time for himself but when he meets December Mayson he’s willing to find a way. It’s too bad she’s an immature woman who wants to play around rather than engage in a real relationship. He doesn’t have the patience or the time for that. He doesn’t want his boys to witness another disastrous relationship after what they have had to experience with their own mother.

First impressions are usually spot on. Overthinking and misconceptions usually are just that. Once December and Gareth get past that, they are developing a good, healthy relationship with open communication and respect. The boys are finally getting to see what a honest, sweet, caring woman does for a home. All is going well until Gareth’s ex-wife returns home and is taking back her place in the boys life. Gareth can’t let his boys experience that kind of hurt again but he can’t turn them away from their mother.

December may be a quiet, mild mannered, sweet girl but she is a Mayson. She will fight tooth and nail for those she loves. She is fighting with all her heart for her three men.
