The flight attendant is braced against the service cart and she is leering at me. “Federal Aviation Administration regulations mandate a lavatory occupancy of one. I’m going to have to report this incident to the captain.”
I want to slap that smirk off her face, but that would require standing vertical, not laying horizontal with my accomplice half-naked on top of me.
Besides, aggravating her now won’t do me any good. If she turns me in, I could be flight violations or even public indecency.
Slowly, the weight on top of me is gone. The man I was just about to have sex with is rising to all of his six plus feet.
Oh, God, his pants. His pants. They’re undone and without that belt buckled they’re certain to fall down.

Logan McKay has been the mysterious fantasy maker at the Silo.  He doesn’t have any inhibitions and is game for anything.  That’s what makes him good at his job.  When the untouchable virgin becomes a high commodity at the Silo, he knows he’s in big trouble.  He doesn’t have the kind of money to purchase the prize.  He also senses that there is something not quite right with the situation.  The beautiful virgin, Auralie, is reaching out to him in silent communication, pleading for him to save her.  He is not a hero.  He is not a good guy.  He still has a conscience and he still has a heart.  Auralie has captivated him completely and he wants to be the cowboy that rides in and saves the girl.

Like most things, what you see on the surface hides multiple things.  In Auralie’s case, it’s a multitude of lies, deception, and desperation.  She needs Logan McKay to save her but at the same time she needs him to walk away and leave her to her fate.

Logan and Auralie are in a precarious situation that could turn deadly.  They can’t stay away from one another.  Their need for one another goes beyond the sexual gratifications. It’s a matter of heart.  They both have secrets and their world is imploding.  Once again Bridger has to step in and help save the day.  Another cowboy has fallen hard.  The Silo is changing and the players are making their last moves.

Wicked Ride by Sawyer Bennett was sizzling hot.  It wasn’t as kinky as some of the earlier books nor was it as romantic as the last book.  It was a good, solid book that gave the readers a complete understanding of Logan McKay.  Out of all the guys at the Silo, I think Logan McKay had the best backstory.  It broke my heart.  I also loved how Sawyer set up the next book in the series.  Look out Bridger, Sawyer is taking you down!

The Wind Dragons MC is riding in for the summer with Rake leading the ride.

Throughout the series readers have met bad boy Rake in various forms of dress, positions, and situations.  He lives up to his name and never says no to the ladies.  It’s quite obvious that Rake also has darker taste in his sexual escapades.  Within the MC he is the legendary ladies man but also one of the most loyal brothers.  To the Wind Dragons he is family.

Rake wasn’t always a jaded bad boy.  He once loved deeply and was destroyed because of that love.  He never got over the heartbreak but vowed he would never be put in that position again.  That is until he runs into Bailey, the girl who broke his heart seven years ago.

A lot can change in seven years and still some things stay the same.  Bailey still has a hold on Rake and Rake still owns her heart.  She’s no longer a naive teenage girl.  She’s a single mother with a great career in teaching.  The last thing she needs is a biker hanging around in her life.  Destiny has something else in mind.

Mia found herself alone with a kinda pissed-off looking Master Kyler. He wore angry well. As in, the harshness of the set of his jaw and the tight press of his lips and the narrow cut of his eyes—they were all hot, especially coming from a Dom. But she didn’t understand it.

“Um. Hello, Sir,” she finally said when he didn’t say anything.

“Mia,” he said, his gaze raking over her. “You look absolutely stunning tonight.” His voice was like gravel, rough and strained.

“Thank you. Are you okay, Sir?” she asked.

He shook his head. “I don’t…I don’t know.”

“Do you want to sit and talk?” Mia asked, concern for him flooding her.

Suddenly, Kyler pinned her to the cool wall. He braced his hands on either side of her head, and he was erect against her belly. She wanted to drop into a crouch and take him into her mouth. “Do you want vulgar honesty or watered-down politeness?” he asked.

The promise of those words made her core clench with need. “Vulgar honesty.”

He nailed her with a blue-eyed stare. “I don’t want to sit and talk. I want to fuck. Hard. I want to be aggressive. Maybe I even want to be a little mean.”

Mia’s heart was suddenly a runaway train in her chest. Because, sign her up! She let out a shaky breath. “That sounds…like someone’s going to have a good night,” she managed.

He gave a tight nod and backed up a step. “Let me show you the room I have in mind.” Taking her hand, he led her down the long hallway that shot off the side of the nave. She wasn’t sure if this was still part of the church building or something else, but she didn’t have long to wonder before Kyler stopped at a door and keyed in a code.

Lights came on as the door opened, and Kyler guided her inside with his hand at the small of her back.

Just the room’s theme turned Mia on. Concrete floor. Cinder-block walls with peeling paint. Light thrown from bare light bulbs surrounded by little cages. An iron cot bed with only a white fitted sheet. Rusted metal cabinet at the side that undoubtedly held a variety of toys and supplies. It looked like a basement or a warehouse—a place where a woman in a beautiful cocktail dress had no business being. A role started taking shape in her mind.

“Do you see where my head is tonight, Mia?” Master Kyler asked, his body almost rigid with tension.

God, she was going to enjoy helping him work out whatever had him so wound up. “Yes, Sir.”

Hard To Serve by Laura Kaye is an interesting novella.  While it is part of the Hard Ink series, it is also an opener for the new upcoming series Blasphemy.

Laura stepped outside her box and dove into the world of sexual kink.  Welcome to Blasphemy.

Detective Kyler Vance’s career is on hold.  After being shot in the line of duty ( previous Hard Ink novel), he’s slowly beginning to get use of his shoulder and shooting arm.  He is also under investigation for corruption.  The new police commissioner is cleaning up the force.  Kyler’s under the microscope.  After three months, he’s ready to get back to his normal world.  He’s also ready to get back to Blasphemy, the exclusive club he owns with twelve other Master Doms.  Anything goes as long as it’s consensual for both parties.

His first night back at Blasphemy he meets a new guest sub that intrigues the Master Dom in him.  Mia is the perfect sub and he is a master at her preferred kinks.  Together they can engage in a scene that not only brings complete satisfaction and pleasure for them both, but also pleases the other members of the club.

Kyler and Mia are perfect for one another.  There is only one thing that could stand in their way, Mia’s father, the new police commissioner.

Laura Kaye dove right into this new world.  While some of the kinks and BDSM are not my cup of tea, she did a good job with the story.  It had the right amount of romance and the right amount of kink.  I think readers are going to embrace the new Blasphemy series.

Am I still a NAN HATER…

The Rosemary Beach Series by Abbi Glines has been one of my favorite series since the first book released in January 2014.  I have devoured each book in this series.  I have stood in long lines at author events to get my paperback copies signed.  Each of the couples and the crew from Rosemary Beach have captivated me… except for Nan.  She is the J.R. Ewing or Alexis Carrington of Rosemary Beach.  She has been the consistent villian throughout the series.  There is nothing likable about her character at all.  So why would readers want her to have a book of her own?  I would say because they are just waiting for the train to hit Nan head on.

When a writer creates a character like Nan, it’s almost impossible to convince the readers that she deserves a happily ever after.  Towards the later part of the series Nan’s character starts to evolve.  Readers are beginning to see the multiple layers that make Nan the person she is.  Is it possible for Nan to change the core person she is?  That’s where the author has her greatest challenge.  First of all to change her into a good lovable being would be more or less slapping the readers in the face saying they are gullible and clueless.  It would make everything readers conceived into a lie.  Thank goodness Abbi Glines had the insight not to insult her readers but at the same time have the balls to give Nan a story that readers could embrace.

Nan didn’t change, she evolved into something tolerable.  Readers got an in depth look at what made Nan tick.  They got a first hand look into her insecurities, hateful reactions, and selfish choices.  They also got to see her real issues and where they began.  The girl was basically abandoned the moment she came into the world.  The ones that were supposed to love and protect her blatantly ignored her existence and used money as a way to cover up their abandonment.  The only person that really ever loved Nan was her brother Rush.  It’s no wonder she desperately tried to control and hang onto him.  He was the only good thing in her life she ever had.  Her bitterness and resentments were a coat of armor that she would never be able to shed because the little girl buried deep inside must never surface.  She became strong because of that armor.  She survived the only way she knew how.  After many years of bitterness and hate, she’s growing weary.  The people in her world are changing for the better, moving on with their lives and she is stuck in the hateful world she created.  She wants what they have but is clueless how to obtain it.  Each time she thinks she’s close to obtaining it’s always disappointment that follows.

Nan and Major have had a thing going on but it’s not really a relationship.  They have formed an odd friendship.  Each time Nan thinks that Major is coming around he only ends up disappointing her.  He discards her like everyone else in her life has.  When she’s finally had enough, she does what she does best…moves on to the next mindless party.  Heading to Vegas to lick her wounds leads her to the next chapter in her life.  She meets a mysterious, sexy, dangerous man.  He has a way of making her feel like she is the only woman in the world.  He can control her outbursts, appreciate her worldliness, and make her body sing.  He also has secrets that could destroy her and when he does, her life in Rosemary Beach doesn’t look so bad.  Too bad her heart doesn’t know it.

By this time Major has realized the errs of his ways.  He regrets his mistakes with Nan and wants another chance to prove himself to her.  He will get his chance but it won’t be the ending he was expecting.

The rest of the story will take the reader by surprise!  Rosemary Beach is ending Up In Flames.

Am I still a NAN HATER? I still don’t like her but I do understand her and don’t begrudge her a happily ever after.

Prologue
September 28, 2001

Seventeen days ago, my life caught fire.
Two planes. Two towers. Nothing will ever be the same.
The fire at Ground Zero is still burning, and somewhere inside the smoky piles of rubble is my father. Do I want them to find him? For the first week, I did. I stayed home from school every day and stared at the TV, praying I’d see them pull my dad from what’s left.
I told myself over and over that he couldn’t be gone. David Wentworth was too strong to be taken down like that. He’d show them all. My dad would come crawling out of the pile of debris, still wearing his dark suit. He’d probably pull other people out, too. My dad is like that. He does things people say are impossible.
But the second week, my mom said I had to go back to school. When I told her I wouldn’t go because I was waiting for my dad to be rescued, her shoulders fell.
“He’s gone, Andrew.”
“You don’t know that. Dad’s a fighter.”
She shook her head. “I know it’s hard for a thirteen-year-old to wrap his head around. I know. You want him to be here, and I do, too. But he’s gone. It’s just you and me now.”
I glared at her, my throat burning. How could she give up on him like that? I’d never give up on my dad. I went back to my spot in his favorite leather chair in our living room and turned up the news on TV.
But after two weeks, my school counselor came to our house to see me. He frowned and told me no one could survive for two weeks in there. Then he gave me a pamphlet titled, “It’s Okay to Cry.” I crumpled up his advice on grieving and threw it in the trash.
I wasn’t going to cry. My dad wouldn’t want that. He’d always told me a man’s true measure was his strength.
“Chin up, Andrew. You’re a Wentworth. We’re made of steel.”
Today we’re having a memorial service for him. My chin will stay up, and my back will stay straight. When I look at the family pictures of my parents and me on a long table at the funeral home and my eyes start to feel watery, I pinch my leg through the pocket of my suit pants. The burning sting in my thigh makes me angry instead of sad.
Better. Dad used to yell at people from his company sometimes, so I know he wouldn’t mind me being angry. At night, when I’m staring up at the stars me and Dad stuck on my ceiling when I was little, my stomach twists and hurts with the anger I feel for the men who killed my dad.
They murdered thousands of people. I’m not the only kid without a dad now. Everyone is scared. Nothing will ever be the same.
My mom covers her mouth with her hand, crying as one of her friends squeezes her arm and talks to her. They did that, too. They made my mom cry. My dad wouldn’t stand for that.
Since he’s gone, I have to be the strong one now. I have to take care of my mom like he would. I have to think about what dad would want for us. I have to hold on tight to my need for those men to pay for what they did to my dad.
The firefighters will eventually extinguish the smoldering fire at Ground Zero, but the fire burning inside of me will never go out.

“Are you ready to get your
ass kicked?” she asked over her shoulder with a grin.
She pulled her shirt over
her head, revealing a black tank, and I had to swallow past the desire that
rushed through me. She looked so fucking hot in only her boots, jeans, and a
tiny tank. She obviously wasn’t wearing a bra, but with tits like hers, she didn’t have to.
My mind went back to the
moment she was on stage in only her black sports bra. She was soaked. She was
sexy. And for the first time in a couple of days, my cock grew hard.
“Let’s see what you got.”
I stood to the side as
she sat behind my set. I didn’t usually let anyone play my drums, but I trusted
Hope with my babies. I’d watched her play. I knew she knew what she was doing,
and I also knew she respected her own set and would do the same with mine.
She spun the sticks
between her fingers, her glassy eyes all over me as she lifted a brow in challenge.
And then she brought the
sticks down and beat out a fresh rhythm I’d never heard before. It was fast
paced and strong, the percussion shaking the stage as she went crazy hitting
any and every spot on my set yet still somehow making it sound amazing.
Her head fell back, and she closed her eyes as she continued
to play, beating the drums unmercifully and turning me on beyond belief. Her
arms moved, the small feminine muscles popping out with her movements, making
the tattoos on her arms come to life.
I couldn’t do this with Hope.
I couldn’t let myself get into her. She was turning me on more than any woman
had in years. Not since my Blackbird five years earlier. 
Women were a dime a dozen
in my job. Hell, they were waiting just outside the venue ready and willing to
let me fuck them senseless, but I was moving past that bullshit. After
everything I’d been through since we started the tour, I needed relief. But I
didn’t want it from just anyone.
The more I watched Hope
play my drums, her arms flying and her eyes closed in ecstasy—the realization came crashing over me.
I wanted Hope. 
I wanted Hope the way I’d
wanted Blackbird for the last five years.
Watching her only
intensified my craving for her.
I wasn’t sure I could
control myself. I was feeling better, my painkiller finally doing its job, and
my head wasn’t being ripped apart. I could think about more than the pain for
once. I could think about Hope and how amazing she’d feel wrapped around me.
Wet.
Hot.
Ready.
Moving from my spot, I
moved toward her. Her rhythm moved through me, vibrating my core and making me
feel even more alive. I didn’t stop until I was standing right beside her. She
kept her eyes closed; playing with so much beauty
it was breathtaking.
I reached out and took a
strand of her hair between my fingers, and the colors blended together when I
rubbed my fingers together. Her playing came to an instant halt, and I smirked
down at her when her eyes popped open,
and one of her sticks fell to the ground at my feet.
Sweat dotted the top of
her lip, and her cheeks were flushed with pleasure. Her expression was one of
happiness and release, and I knew playing did that for her. It did the same for
me, but I wanted to give her that look. I wanted to do it with my hands and my
mouth … my cock.
I moved closer, taking
her cheeks in my palms and spending a minute looking at her. I didn’t want it
to be like the last time I felt this way. Unlike with my Blackbird, I took the
time to remember everything about Hope.
I wanted to look at her face.
I wanted to look into her eyes and see
her when she came apart. It was going to be amazing. She was going to be
amazing. We were going to be a match sexually. But before anything could go
down between us, we would have to talk about it. I wanted to make sure she
understood it would be a one-time thing.
Before I moved in, I
wanted to be sure that this wouldn’t affect the tour.
“What are you doing?” she
asked.
I didn’t miss the catch
in her voice.
“I don’t know.”
And I didn’t. I didn’t
know where this was going or what I was doing. My body was taking control of
the situation, and I was letting it
happen.
I wasn’t much for
kissing. I’d probably kissed a handful of women in my time, but Hope’s pouty
lips called to me. She was begging me to kiss her without even opening her
mouth.
I leaned down, ready to
taste her, but she placed her palm against my chest and stopped me.
“Wait,” she whispered.
I shook my head. “No, I
suck at waiting.”
So I kissed her.
Hard.
She tasted like the
night—liquor and sweetness with a touch of sin. It was wrong to taste her, but
I’d never been one to follow the rules. All the boundaries I’d set forth in regards to Hope were being
crossed, but when she began to kiss me back, her tongue moving against mine, I
didn’t give a fuck about any limitations.
Her mouth opened, and I sucked her tongue into my mouth. Her
moan vibrated through me and shot straight to my groin.
I felt her pull back, so
I pressed for more, capturing her head in my hands and kissing her so deeply
that I was losing myself.
My head wasn’t pounding
anymore, but my heart was. It was beating so hard I could hear it in my ears.
