Kim Karr has become one of my favorite authors.  The moment one of her books downloads on my kindle, I disappear from my own life and become immersed in the new world Kim has created.  I am held captive to that world until I have read the very last word.

Bedwrecker is a spin off of No Pants Required.  It can be read as a stand alone novel.  It features Makayla’s best friend: Maggie and Brooklyn’s brother, as well as Cam’s best friend; Keen.

Maggie has gone to New York City with her friends from Laguna Beach to celebrate the New Year .  Cam and Makayla are hoping that she and Brooklyn will finally hook up and become the perfect couple like they are.  The problem is the chemistry is just not there.  They are both looking for something else on New Year’s Eve.  Maggie finds her something else when she is introduced to Cam’s best friend Keen.  The attraction and chemistry is through the roof.  It is insta- lust between the two.  Their one night stand changes both their lives.  Aside from burning up the sheets, their souls are marked by one another.  Fate has a way of stepping in and changing the intended course.  It makes well made plans into fickle promises that are easily broken.

Keen promised Maggie he would come to see her in two weeks.  Two weeks later she hasn’t heard a word from Keen.  It’s like he dropped off the face of the earth.  When he finally shows up it’s months later it’s a little too late.  Keen has valid explanations.  Maggie has had too many “valid” explanations.  She’s moving on.  The problem is neither can escape their undeniable chemistry.  They can’t escape matters of the heart.  They both will have to face their pasts, their insecurities, and open their hearts.

Keen came to California to start a new life.  His new life includes Maggie.

Once again Kim Karr knocked it out of the park.  This fun, sizzling hot romance had everything a reader wants.  The creative dialogue, dynamic characters, and complex story wrapped into a sexy, yet, very romantic package makes Bedwrecker a five star book.

Brooklyn is up next… I wonder what Kim will give this sexy bad boy.

We’re not even over the river and through the woods, yet, and I’m already hearing the countdown to Christmas. What helps me keep the anticipation and enjoy the lead-up to the season? Holiday reads. And when they’re written by some of my favorite authors, I’m a really happy reader.

I’ve fallen in love with Jill Shalvis’ Heartbreaker Bay series. This tight-knit little community of characters are Jill’s typical folk, smart, savvy, funny, and passionate, and they all have a backstory, which makes them even more interesting.

Rory and Max have history, and, even though their past left them distant and harboring less than friendly feelings, they currently have no shortage of spark and sizzle going on between them. One snowstorm, the close confines of a car, and a Christmas Eve trip gives them nothing to do but talk about the past, and to see each other as they are now.

I loved everything about this sweet little read (although I have to say that Carl the Doberman really steals the show), and happily recommend this 5-star feel-good holiday novella as one to add to your seasonal reading. And, although you don’t have to have read the rest of the series, why wouldn’t you? Grab them all, read them, and enjoy.

Walking toward my room I notice my bike propped up on two blue milk crates. I stop in my tracks, my hands balling in my palms so hard my nails cut the skin.

Bull is hunched down, a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. No shirt on under his leather vest and grease all over him.

Music plays behind him as his dexterous hands make quick work at the guts of my Fixie. Panic races in my chest. He’s breaking her apart bolt by bolt!

What the fuck? Is he trying to destroy everything of mine?

“Oh I love that song.” I flinch, not noticing Jose standing behind me. “It’s Godsmack‘s Stay Away.” He informs.

“Jesus Christ, Jose, you can’t just sneak up on me like that!” I scorn, clutching my chest. “I could have just punched you in the throat, do you realize that?” He knows what goes on out here, I have to stay on my toes all the time.

“You going over there?” Jose ignores my rant, eyeing Bull over my shoulder. Biting my cheek I turn. My throat bobbing as I watch Bull toss bolts and shit over his shoulder.

My thighs clench on their own, defying the rage poisoning me. Sweat drips from his forehead, black grease streaked among his hard chest. I can’t help the hitch in my breathing.

“Can I have him?” Jose whispers. I blink away the sultry smog clouding my anger and stomp toward the sexy biker.

“Yeah, after I kill him!” I clip.

Bull stands and flicks his cigarette. His movements appearing in slow motion as smoke bellows from his lips. He turns, his back facing me and shrugs out of his cut, throwing it over on the patio. His muscular back inked with the same image that is on the vest.

I narrow my brows, trying to remind myself of the mission at hand.

Holding my hand out I hesitate on if I should touch him or turn around. I look over my shoulder and see Jose looking at me like I lost my mind.

Maybe I have.

Inhaling a large breath, I poke Bull in the shoulder as hard as I can.

His skin is slick with sweat and hot to the touch. The contact shooting warmth through my finger and through my body before igniting in my toes.

He looks over his shoulder, a hard look on his face.

“What the fuck are you doing?” I snarl.

He lifts his chin and smiles. Fucking smiles.
