I opened the door, a smile still on my face, and collided, headfirst, with a wall of muscle.
“Oh, sorry.” I looked up and my heart stopped.
The smell of leather and aftershave filled my nose. I looked up to see a pair of dark brown eyes hooded by long, onyx lashes. I took in the straight nose, the sharp jaw and strong chin.
My gaze dropped to the full lips I’d tasted once, on a night eleven years ago.
I’d never seen a face as symmetrical and so beautifully masculine as Easton Greer’s.
Even when he scowled, like he was now, it was a wonder.

What author is going to take a beloved children’s series and build on it to create something totally new? Devney Perry, that’s who. I mean, I absolutely adored RUNAWAY ROAD, the first book in Devney’s Runaway series. I fell for Londyn and Brooks immediately, and I knew that this series was going to be a ‘move everything around if you have to, but read this’ kind of thing, because, OMG. Emotional and passionate, the books in this series are proving (no surprise) to hook me in from the first page, and keep me reading until the very last.
I love Devney’s storytelling, but even I wondered how she could follow up the first book in a way that would make the rest just as wonderful. Well, she did it. WILD HIGHWAY is imbued with all of the passion, all of the emotion, all of the ‘tug at the heartstrings and leave me a weeping mess’ intensity that I’d loved in RUNAWAY ROAD, plus some.
Gemma and Easton are second-chance romance at its finest. There is no way in the world that these two weren’t destined to be, because, even in the initial dance, you know, the one where they pretend that the other doesn’t exist, the pull between them was magnetic. Their story is filled not only with passion, but with heartache, with yearning, and, finally, love, and believe me when I say that I was a mess waiting for them to get to their happy.
I can’t get enough of these books, and I am dying to get my hands on QUARTER MILES, Katherine’s and Cash’s story, and next up in the series. In the meantime, 5 easy stars for WILD HIGHWAY, and a wholehearted recommendation to read these books. You will love them, I guarantee. ❤️
