Football star. Single dad. And once, a long time ago, mine.
Coach by Devney Perry is now live!
I’ve spent the better part of a decade forgetting Ford Ellis. If he had just stayed away from Montana, I might have erased the memory of his striking blue eyes and rugged smile forever. Avoiding him was easy when the only place I saw his face was on ESPN—and a remote control could fix that problem.
Except my boss just hired Ford as the new head coach for the Treasure State Wildcats. Not only will I be stuck watching him on the sidelines this season, but avoiding him will be impossible now that we’re working together.
Maybe I haven’t forgotten Ford. Maybe I still dream about what we might have been. Maybe he hasn’t forgotten me either.
Except those maybes won’t change the fact that we were never meant to be. Maybe he was mine once. But as of today, the only thing I’ll be calling Ford Ellis is Coach.

Seriously, I am falling more in love with Quincy, MT, and the Eden family with every single book in this series, and that is saying something, because INDIGO RIDGE was easily one of my favorite romances of 2021. Devney’s writing is flawless, and her talent for hooking me right from the get-go and keeping me completely immersed never fails.
GARNET FLATS is the perfect blend of a second-chance love story and that dash of suspense that makes it the perfect read for me. I was just as ready as Talia Eden to kick Foster Madden’s butt right back to Vegas and totally rooting for the two of them to work things out, because, oh, my gosh, Foster making amends is pretty freaking amazing. And when that thing happened, the ‘thing’ that Devney always does, that hook that totally threw me for a loop, well, I was a goner.
These books are quickly earning their places in my most favorite reads, and I truly can’t recommend them highly enough. If you haven’t started, now is the time, because I’m telling you right now, you will love them. ❤️

Memphis Ward arrives in Quincy, Montana, on the fifth worst day of her life. She needs a shower. She needs a snack. She needs some sanity. Because moving across the country with her newborn baby is by far the craziest thing she’s ever done. But maybe it takes a little crazy to build a good life. If putting the past behind her requires a thousand miles and a new town, she’ll do it if it means a better future for her son. Even if it requires setting aside the glamour of her former life. Even if it requires working as a housekeeper at The Eloise Inn and living in an apartment above a garage. It’s there, on the fifth worst day of her life, that she meets the handsomest man she’s ever laid eyes on. Knox Eden is a beautiful, sinful dream, a chef and her temporary landlord. With his sharp, stubbled jaw and tattooed arms, he’s raw and rugged and everything she’s never had–and never will. Because after the first worst day of her life, Memphis learned a good life requires giving up on her dreams too. And a man like Knox Eden will only ever be a dream.

This second visit to Quincy, Montana, proves that author Devney Perry cannot write a book that I do not love. From the first page of JUNIPER HILL to the very last, Memphis, Knox, and the rest of the Eden family drew me in and did not let go.
Both Knox’s and Memphis’s backstories are heartbreaking, the difference being that Knox has his home and his family to help him pick up the pieces. The beauty of Quincy and the Edens is that they offer the very same to Memphis, exemplifying the truth that chosen family is just as strong and loving as the ones that we come from.
Devney manages to infuse her usual perfect blend of intrigue, suspense, passion, and love into JUNIPER HILL, making for a story both infinitely readable and enjoyable. I couldn’t get enough of Memphis, Knox, and the rest of the Edens, and I cannot wait to get Talia’s story in GARNET FLATS. If you haven’t visited Quincy, or read Devney’s books, you must, because you will become an immediate and lifelong fan. ❤️

No promises. No expectations. No names. That’s what Emmett Stone agreed to with the woman who caught his eye two months ago. After years of drama following the end of the Tin Gypsy Motorcycle Club, a no-strings fling with a mystery woman is exactly what he needs. Except as they find themselves together more and more, it’s impossible for him to keep his feelings at bay. She’s clever and sassy. She’s gracious and kind. She loves riding on the back of his bike every Saturday afternoon and lazing in his bed every Sunday morning. She’s the perfect woman. Except she’s Nova Talbot, the daughter of his archenemy–the man who murdered his father. Her identity will cost her the man who’s captured her heart unless she can convince Emmett her feelings are true. Before he learns the reason she proposed their fling in the first place.

I have been waiting to read Emmett Stone’s book since the first book in this series, and I’m pretty sure that I am not alone. Emmett has always come across as all swagger and sex, the guy who, along with Leo Winter, his partner in crime, is the quintessential good time guy. And at first glance, the Emmett of TIN QUEEN, the sixth and final book (*cries*) in the Tin Gypsy series by Devney Perry, there’s no reason to think much differently. Or is there?
Because, along the way, throughout the course of these books, there’ve been hints, nuances of change, and of a depth to Emmett, as well as the rest of the Gypsies, that wasn’t obvious at first. Life is moving along, with his brothers finding love and making the changes in their lives that come along with that. And Emmett is evolving, too, as the things that used to be important become less so.
Enter June “Nova” Johnson. She knows who Emmett is, and she has her own agenda, one that is certain to shake things up in Emmett’s world, and that of his friends. Driven by vengeance, the last thing that Nova is looking for is a happily ever after, and she’s determined that the Gypsies won’t have one, either. If only life worked out the way that we expected…
Devney’s flawless storytelling makes TIN QUEEN a book that I could absolutely not put down. The characters, their personal stories, the love that they have for their families that make them who they are, has ensured that the Tin Gypsies series is an all-time favorite, and one that I could visit again and again. I have said with each of these books that it was my “new favorite,” and it has always been true. But, I’m going to have to say that Emmett, well, Emmett has my heart. The obstacles that he and Nova overcome in their journey had me loving him more with each page. I wasn’t quite sure that things were going to be resolved the way that I was hoping, and, in all honesty, I was prepared for the worst. Suffice to say that I was crying happy tears by the end, and bless Devney for epilogues and bonus stories, because they rounded everything out perfectly. A 5+ star read for me in every way, TIN QUEEN is an easy recommendation, and one that I will keep on making. If you haven’t read this series, you are definitely missing out. Do yourself a favor and dive in. You will absolutely fall in love. ❤️

Leo Winter loves his life. He works when he needs money. He rides when he craves freedom. He frequents the local bar when he wants a good time. The Tin Gypsies might be a memory, but the bachelor life he lived with his motorcycle club still suits him fine. So when a one-night stand surprises him at a family barbecue and claims she’s pregnant with his child, he’s certain he’s died and gone to hell.
Cassandra Cline took one night off from her structured life. One. And now her wild fling with the local bad boy has turned her life sideways. Her dreams and academic career are circling the drain, and none of it would have happened if she’d stayed far, far away from Leo.
Except avoiding him is impossible, especially when she’s forced to move home to Clifton Forge, Montana. And he refuses to leave her side when a series of strange accidents put her and their baby at risk. But are they accidents? Or is she standing in the middle of a battlefield she doesn’t understand?
Her only allies are people she barely knows. And a man who has the potential to steal her heart.
If only he’d stop playing the fool.

And, finally, Leo Winter’s book is here. I have been waiting to see how Devney Perry would write Leo’s love story, and she knocked it out of the park with FALLEN JESTER, the fifth book in her Tin Gypsy series.
I’d read and loved Devney’s earlier books, but when she said that she was writing an MC series, well, it gave me pause. But I should have known, because this author obviously cannot write a book that I will not fall in love with. With each subsequent book, these characters that I didn’t necessarily think would be “my thing” have most definitely landed squarely among my most favorites. Funnily enough, each book in the Tin Gypsy series becomes my ‘favorite one yet,’ but I have found that, like with one’s children, there is always room for more, and plenty of love to spare.
The books in this series most definitely build on each other, so, while you could read FALLEN JESTER without having read the earlier books, you would miss the backstory and the evolution, which you most definitely do NOT want. The Leo in this book is so different than the way that he comes across in the earlier books, and he just had my heart. So much of his behavior, his attitude, what make him Leo, is brought to light here, and I just wanted to grab him and hug him.
Cass is the perfect match for Leo. She appears to be his opposite, at least as far as their pasts are concerned, but they share a bond that draws them together like the strongest magnet, allowing them to draw the strength from each other needed to be the best, most whole versions of themselves.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that, yes, I’ve truly enjoyed each book in the Tin Gypsy series, and we still have TIN QUEEN, which is Emmett’s story, to finish out the series, but this one, the one where Leo finds his love, does go on record as my most favorite of the bunch. If you have yet to pick up these books, do it now, because they will have your heart. ❤️

Clara Saint-James is completing a journey started by an old friend. She’ll return a Cadillac to California, a place she’s avoided for more than a decade. But it’s time for closure and to put old ghosts to rest. And it’s time to find out if the feelings she’s cherished for the boy from her past are just fanciful memories–or if there’s a chance they are real.
Timing was never on her side, especially when it came to Karson Avery. The two of them lived in a junkyard as runaway teens, and though she wanted more than his friendship, he always belonged to another–until that one night when he was hers.
When Clara finds Karson living in a small, coastal town, she’s not surprised the beautiful boy from her past grew into a stunning man. His smile is as captivating as ever. His eyes have the same roguish glint. But timing is still working against her.
Clara must decide how far she’s willing to go to battle for Karson’s heart. Or if it’s time to let him go and surrender to the dotted lines that have always kept them apart.

The whirl of tires and the hum of an engine filled the air before she could answer. A shiny black Jaguar came down the driveway and my heart dropped.
No. That son of a bitch Brody Carmichael was going to ruin my vacation.
“He’s supposed to be gone.” If he dared encroach on my time with Clara, I’d sneak poison ivy into his bed.
“It’s not his fault.” Clara sighed, quick to defend her boss.
“Did his private plane not have enough spiced cashews for his liking? Surely he can afford jet fuel.”
The second-best part of this week, besides Clara and Gus, was Brody’s scheduled absence. Clara knew there was no love lost between me and her boss, so she’d suggested travel dates that coincided with his vacation.
Yet here he was, parking a car that likely cost more than all of my worldly possessions combined.
Brody parked behind the Cadillac and stepped out of his car, sliding the sunglasses off his face. He wore a navy suit tailored to perfection around his broad shoulders and long legs. In the years I’d known him, I’d never seen him in anything but a suit. Did he not own jeans?
“Brody!” August raced over, holding up a hand for a high five. “Aunt Aria is here. We’re gonna open my presents.”
“I see that.” Brody’s lips turned up in a smile. Barely.
If the man ever learned how to deliver one properly, actually show some teeth, he’d be devastating. Especially with the dark, trimmed beard he’d grown a few years ago. It gave him a sexy edge. Or it would have, if his perpetually sour mood wasn’t such a major turnoff.
He definitely, definitely didn’t turn me on. Oh no.
Broderick Carmichael was enemy number one.

I have inhaled each book in the Runaway series by author Devney Perry, so that FORSAKEN TRAIL was an immediate favorite is no surprise. I loved Aria Saint-James from the moment that she was introduced in QUARTER MILES. That she’s even stronger, even sassier, and more than able to handle herself here in her own book is all that I needed. And that she can more than manage Mr. In Control Bossy Bosserton Brody Carmichael clinched it for me.
That hate thing that Brody and Aria had going on? Yeah, so much unexplored attraction, and when they open the door to each other, talk about a spark…inferno is more like it, and an unlikely coupling becomes the match that neither one expected, but that each needed so desperately. These two that have so much love to share are meant for each other.
I’ve never read the Boxcar Children series that Devney loved and loosely used as a starting point for this series, but I have to believe that she’s done a bang-up job taking the idea and running with it. Each and every character, runaways, or ‘strays,’ as Brody’s grandmother so eloquently put it, has taken a bad beginning and made a life so much richer. Londyn, Gemma, Katherine, and now, Aria, they’ve finally found their people and places, because of the community they were able to forge so long ago. And, coming up is Clara’s and Karson’s story in DOTTED LINES. This book is one of my top TBRs for 2021, and I can’t wait. In the meantime, if you have not read this series, you simply must. And with DOTTED LINES releasing in March 2021, you have just enough time, although I doubt it will take you that long to jump in and fall in love. Happy reading, friends. ❤️
