It was only two blocks and it was 3 AM Tokyo time, but for us it was hours earlier. I didn’t let go of her hand as I led her out of the club. I glanced down at Brook’s face and saw that her brow was knitted in a frown. I didn’t say anything as we walked through the hotel and took the elevator up to the 23rd floor. Both of our rooms were on this floor and I wondered if she’d want me to join her in hers. My heart thumped harder as we got closer to her room. I didn’t want to be presumptuous after all that had happened, but I desperately wanted more time with her. Exactly what had happened? I reminded myself that I still didn’t know. Outside her room, I took her shoulders and turned her toward me. I wanted to take her in my arms and kiss her breathless, but knew we needed to talk first. I raised my hand to her face and placed a whisper soft kiss on her luscious pink lips. When I drew away, her chin lifted toward my mouth for another kiss and I gave it to her. This one was longer, lingering, our lips playing with each other. My body sprung to life, but my heart still ached over the abyss we’d had between us. I needed it resolved before I could make love to her. My God. She tastes so good, all wine and sweetness. I felt my breath leave my body and fan over her face. I couldn’t get enough and my body strained against her, I pressed my hardness into her stomach and she moaned. I drug my mouth from hers and placed my forehead on hers, both of us panting wildly. I struggled to get control of my breathing and the urges that were surging through every nerve and sinew of my body. Brook pressed her card key into my hand and I reached behind her to put it in the slot. My mouth ghosted and licked at hers as I heard the door click and I pushed it open behind her. My arm went around her waist and I lifted her with me through the door and her arms and legs went around my body. “Oh God, Cade.” My arm still around her waist, the other one went underneath her bottom as I carried her into the room. I buried my face in her hair as I kissed her neck and shoulders. Trying to get in control of myself, I went to the bed and sat down with her still wrapped around me. I stroked her back. “Brook. I want you so much right now. So much. But baby, we should talk first.” I brought both of my hands into her hair and pulled her head back so I could look into her eyes. I nuzzled into her throat as I took a deep breath. “We need to talk,” I whispered against her skin. She shook her head as she buried her face in my shoulder, her hands stroking the back of my head. “Please, just make love to me. Just make love to me.” My body surged at her words, but I wanted to get her back into my life… not just into my bed and I told her so. I shook my head. “No Brook. Not until we talk. I pulled the cruiser into Jackie’s driveway. What the hell was wrong with me? It was only yesterday that I’d gotten her off and yet here I was, sitting unannounced in her driveway like a stalker.

If I’d thought it difficult to get her off my mind before, what had happened in the wine cellar had made it damn near impossible.

Everyone I’d talked to had said the same thing—that she’d turned down each and every cop or fireman that had asked her out. No one was sure if she was just trying to keep her personal life outside of the work environment or what, but I intended to find out. The insane pull between us didn’t leave me any other choice.

With a sigh, I unbuckled my seatbelt and glanced at the small bungalow. It was cute with white siding and black shutters. Hanging baskets of colorful flowers hung from hooks around the veranda and a kickass bicycle was leaning against the side of the house. That helped to explain why she had such a firm ass.

I opened the door to the cruiser when the front door of the house burst open, and Jackie stood there frozen, her hand held to her chest and such an expression of fear on her face that I bolted out of the car and up the front steps.

“What’s wrong?” I demanded as soon as I was in front of her.

“Wh-what are you doing here?” she asked in barely a whisper.

I relaxed a fraction once it was clear she was okay. “I figured you could use a lift to Don’s place for your car. Didn’t think you would’ve driven home last night.” I shrugged. “It’s been quiet today, so I popped by to see if you wanted me to drive you over.”

She released a pent-up breath and relief washed over her face. “Oh, thank God.”

I frowned and gripped her upper arms. “What’s going on? Everything okay?”

She glanced down at where my hands lay on her soft skin and looked back up to me, blinking twice. “It’s nothing. When I saw the cruiser in the driveway…never mind.” She shook her head.

I studied her for a moment. She was sexy just rolling out of bed with her hair thrown in a messy bun and last night’s make-up still on her face. “You sure?”

She nodded and her eyes flicked down to my hands once more. “Why are you always touching me whenever I see you?” Her voice had come out all breathy, not at all convincing me that she didn’t like my hands right where they were.

I grazed her collarbones with my thumbs, causing goose bumps to form on her skin. “I think you know exactly why.”

Welcome! I’m Elisabeth Grace, or El if you prefer, and I write New Adult Contemporary Romance.

I’d been an avid reader my entire life, but when I discovered romance novels during my first pregnancy I was hooked! Not sure if it was the hormones or the lack of a life that was headed my way once my daughter was born, but since then I’ve been devouring several romance books a week. I’m a LOVER of all music. The 1200+ songs on my IPod can attest to the variety of my musical tastes. Hubby and I try to travel to a different music festival every year and are regular concert goers.

My name is Elisabeth and I like reality TV. There I admitted it and that’s the first step, right? Yes, I’m a writer and I see the need for scripted shows, but sometimes there’s just something so entertaining about watching one Real Housewife lose it on another one. I could listen to Cochran’s diatribe on his fellow castaways for hours.

Of the four of us that make up my family, three of us are Leo’s. Let’s say it together…DRAMA!

I may be the world’s worst cook. My poor children. Unless Daddy’s cooking they know not to expect much.

I write every night after my kids are in bed until the wee hours of the morning. This wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that I have always been an early-bird-catches-the-worm kind-of girl, so 5:00am comes early. Sleep is over-rated, I say.

I’m swiveling back and forth, searching the crowd for Harley.

“Hey, short stuff.” A deep voice slices into my thoughts from over my right shoulder.

I slowly turn around, meeting Harley’s smiling face. I may have been short once, but now I am five-foot-eight, not exactly below-average height.

I take in Harley. He’s tall—six-four, at least—and gorgeous with light brown, short hair; tanned skin; and does he have some ink work on his arms? I’m normally very curious about tattoos, but now isn’t the time to look.

I know I’m looking him up and down, but it’s been so long, and he has changed. The softer boy features have been replaced by a big, muscular, chiseled man.

I swallow.

“Wow, is that really you, Harley Madden?” I’m drinking him in. I don’t remember Harley being so big and buff. His charcoal t-shirt molds tightly to his chest like a second skin. He wasn’t this muscular the last time I saw him. His belted, black jeans and boots complete his handsome look that has quite a few people in the crowd appraising him. He looks a little dangerous in his dark clothing. He would make Will purr like the cat who got the cream. I must admit, even I’m a little taken back.

He leans in and grabs me in a bear hug, lifting me off the ground, leaving me a little breathless. My face is nestled in his neck, catching his scent of cologne and soap.

Wow.

“Okay, big guy, you can stop squeezing the life out of me now,” I try to breathe out. He loosens his hold and slowly let’s go while I take a step back.

“You look amazing, Harley.” I find myself smiling. It feels good. I was worried about feeling awkward meeting Harley again after so long, but something just clicks. He was my brother’s best friend, and I’ve known him all my life. “It’s been a long time.”

“I could say the same about you. I might have to start calling you Faith.” He flashes me an amused grin, showing me perfect, white teeth and a dimple.

The baggage carousel starts up and everybody squeezes in tighter, trying to jockey for a position to get their luggage when it appears.

“Whoa!” I’m already beginning to feel less nervous having Harley here with me when I’m suddenly knocked off balance. Harley’s left arm snags me around the waist, bringing me up against his hard side. He shoots the person beside me a dirty look. Some people really do need to chill out when they travel.

I step away from him when I notice my case coming towards me.

Harley stops me with a gentle, firm hand on my arm. “I’ll get it for you, which one?”

With one, bright blue suitcase and camera bag in his hands, Harley walks me out the sliding doors of the airport and we cross to the parking garage.

The sun is shining, and my grey hoodie jacket is making me too hot. I unzip it, taking it off as I’m walking, revealing a tight white tank top. Much cooler.

Harley is staring at my chest and nearly trips over. I roll my eyes. You can never take the boy out of the man.

“Harley, are you finished staring?” I laugh a little at the look on his face. “So I grew up.”

“You certainly did,” he mutters and looks away. I could have sworn I heard him swear and mumble something about guard duty.

Wow ! Wow ! Wow! A Little Faith by Emma James was astonishing! This book came as a complete surprise and kept me glued to the pages. The characters jumped out of the pages and pulled me into their world. They made me experience their lives. They shared their lives with an open honesty and generous hearts. They made me admire their strength, courage, generosity, and dedication to one another. Their lives were fractured by one horrific event. They faced adversity with an eloquent spirit. They were not left untouched. They carry their scars with grace. They deal with their nightmares by depending on one another. They don’t allow this horrific event to defeat them. They allow that moment in time to define the remarkable men they are today. They will always be haunted by the memories but will move forward in life with a positive attitude. They will allow these memories to define the men they have become today. They are remarkable.

The synopsis for this book tells very little about the story itself. It is enough to intrigue the reader without giving away the meat of this story. Five men share a deep bond that will keep their lives linked together forever. It is a story of a living life to it’s fullest. It is a story of letting go of the past and embracing new beginnings. It is a story of having A Little Faith.

A Little Faith is not your typical romance that features one couple. It features six extraordinary men. They are all leading characters in their own right. New friends are coming into their lives. They will all experience the true meaning of love and friendship.

Each man has their cross to bare. Each carries their cross differently. They use humor, silence, and over protectiveness to deflect their pain. They lean on on another. They will always have each other’s back no matter what happens in life.

Emma James did a brilliant job writing this book. A Little Faith is a story with multiple layers. Each chapter is written from a different character’s POV. The story flows beautifully. This story illustrates the past and the present with perfection. Each character is vibrant. The prologue had me hooked within the first few paragraphs. I was mesmerized and could not put the book down. Some would say it ended on a cliffhanger but I would define it as an intermission. The complete story is going to unfold in several books. The Men of Ocean Beach are demanding their story be told thoroughly. They are demanding that they all get their happily ever after together.

I was captivated by their story. I became invested in each character. When I finished the last page of A Little Faith I had to immediately download Hope Is Lost, the second book in the Men of Ocean Beach series.

Wrath is the second book and final conclusion in the Wrong Series by LP Lovell and Stevie J. Cole. These two outstanding authors teamed up to write a dark erotic romantic thriller that takes the reader into dark underworld of the deep south.

Wrath cannot be read as a stand alone novel. It must be read in series order. It picks up where Wrong, book one, left off on a major cliffhanger.

The Wrong series is not for the faint of heart. This series is sexually graphic, has multiple rape scenes, extreme violence, and graphic language. If any of these are hard limits …do not buy the books.

Wrath picks up where Wrong left off. The frightening cliffhanger was only the beginning. Joe Campbell has taken Tor. He wants to punish Jude before he kills them both. What happens in those six days is horrific and will forever change both Tor and Jude’s life. They are both going to walk away broken and damaged beyond repair.

The body can physically heal but the mind and soul are quite a different issue. Both are haunted by what Joe Campbell has done to them and their family. Both want revenge. Both are furious and will never rest until Joe Campbell is dead.

Is revenge worth the cost they are going to pay? As this story unfolds it will become clear that revenge has a very high price. They have come too far to walk away. Joe won’t allow them to walk away.

After everything is said and done and Wrath has been sated , they will still be paying the price. These two may never get their happily ever after.

I am no stranger to dark erotic romantic thrillers and love a good dark read. Wrath was intense and at times a bit too violent. It turned my stomach at times but it also made me admire the both Tor and Jude all the more. Their fortitude and strength was the glue that held them both together in desperate times.

Tor evolved into a different person. She was no longer innocent and pure of heart. She embraced her darkness and allowed it to make her a stronger person. The one thing that remained the same was her love for Jude.

If you want an intense dark thriller, the Wrong series is the go to books.

I was looking forward to starting the new exciting Wrong Series by LP Lovell and Stevie J. Cole.

I will say that this book is not a fluffy feel good type romance. This book has graphic language, extreme violence, and implications of rape. If these are hard limits please do not buy the book. These graphic uses and situations are an integral part of this story and a driving force in the plot.

Wrong came as a complete surprise to me. The plot was extremely complicated and unpredictable. The characters are complex. Jude Pearson is a ruthless bookie. He does not give his clients second chances. He would just as soon kill them and write the money owed off as a loss. But first he is going to make them suffer. He is going to take everything they own and everything they hold dear. He shows no weakness. But even Jude has his limits. He would never harm a woman. He would never endanger a woman’s life. He would never take a woman against her will.

When a client uses his girlfriend as collateral for his debt, it goes against everything Jude believes in. He also suspects it may be a set up. The young woman is strong, defiant, and fights for her freedom at every turn. When the whole episode goes completely wrong, she shows the strength of will and bravery that would put grown men to shame. When she would rather take her own life than become a victim, it is too much for Jude. Not only has she earned his respect, she has also won his heart.

As this story unfolds it becomes quite clear that not only was Jude set up but is also being hunted. He has a powerful enemy that will stop at nothing until everything in his life is destroyed. Including the woman he loves.

The characters in this book were phenomenal. I truly admire Tor’s strength. She adapted and survived. She found love in an unlikely place. Jude was as hard as they come except when it came to Tor. He allowed her to see his vulnerabilities and proved that he could give her love she deserved.

Wrong ends on huge a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the rest of the story.

I highly recommend Wrong for fans of dark erotic romances.

LP Lovell

Lauren Lovell is an indie author from England. She suffers from a total lack of brain to mouth filter and is the friend you have to explain before you introduce her to anyone, and apologise for afterwards.
