He’s No Saint is a breathtakingly beautiful tale of forbidden love, faith, and forgiveness with an ending that will bring you to your knees.

Wow!  It is hard to put into words how this book affected me.  Make sure you bring out the tissues because you are going to need them.  Tyler has been through so much after losing his one true love because of a heinous crime.  He became Father Hugh to escape the pain he was feeling and to try and help others that were going through loss.  He can’t seem to forgive himself for not being there for Melanie when he could have.  His days are filled with grey clouds until Sister Meredith arrives.  She is the sunlight that is missing from his life.

Amy escaped to the convent and became Sister Meredith after her father died.  She never had a healthy relationship with a man and so the idea of being celibate and giving her life to the church and its members was very appealing to her.  She was quite happy being a nun and helping people that is until the day she meets the gorgeous Father Hugh.  Her body reacted to him like it had never reacted to a man before.  It scared her because she should not be having the type of feelings she was having about Father Hugh and so she runs away.

Father Hugh is smitten and finds that Sister Meredith is worth leaving all of it behind.  He believes that she was brought to him through God’s divine intervention and he does not want to let her go.  But he’s got some things in his way before he can get to her.  One of them being a not so happy prostitute named Kit. She has the power to destroy any possible relationship that he might want to pursue with Sister Meredith.  The question is will Father Hugh get there in time to save Sister Meredith or will he lose her just like he did Melanie.

I was once told by a little bird that “art’s highest purpose is to entertain, to enlighten, to inspire, to evoke emotion and to change an audience in some way, big or small.”  This book evokes serious emotion.  It is not your typical HEA.  YOU MUST READ THE EPILOGUE!!!  You will be crying like a baby.  After everything these two have been through how could this happen to them…

Excerpt

Charlie was a parishioner that had lived a couple of blocks from St. Mary’s his entire life. He’d grown up in the neighborhood, married a girl he’d known since 1st grade, Ruby, and they settled in the same apartment building as his parents. Charlie and Ruby were inseparable, not blessed with children, but that did not affect their deep and eternal love for one another. Ruby had died many years before after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Charlie becoming her caregiver in her final days. Father Casey had known the couple well, but Ruby had passed before Father Hugh had arrived. But Charlie had made an impression and Father Hugh loved to visit with him as often as he could. He was in awe of Charlie’s desire to be reunited with his Ruby… to feel her hand in his and see her smile again. It almost made him believe in love.

On this particular day, Charlie now in a nursing home, the phone rang in the nunnery to tell the Sisters that Charlie was nearing the end. He’d asked to see the new nun… the pretty one, and to have Father Hugh come and hear his final confession. Sister Agnes was heartbroken as she informed Sister Meredith of the request. Father Hugh was also saddened to hear that this would be his last time with Charlie, but quickly changed out of his work clothes and waited for Sister Meredith to accompany him to the nursing home.

They drove in silence the short distance and hurried down the white halls to find Charlie propped up in bed, his breathing labored. Sister Meredith took the old man’s hand in hers as she sat by his bed and smiled down at him.

“I’m glad you came,” Charlie smiled. “I wanted your beautiful eyes to be the last thing I saw on this earth.”

“That’s very kind of you,” she blushed. “I’ll stay as long as you’d like.”

“It won’t be long,” the nurse whispered, looking at the monitors.

With a sacred reverence, Father Hugh performed last rites and eased Charlie’s conscience by hearing his confession, all the while refusing to let go of Sister Meredith’s hand. His hand relaxed slightly as he drifted in and out of consciousness and occasionally had a smile on his lips.

“What do you think he’s thinking about?” Sister Meredith asked.

“No clue,” Father Hugh replied.

“You don’t think he’s excited about going to be with Ruby?”

“I guess he might be,” he shrugged.

“You must believe in heaven,” she gasped.

He didn’t answer straight away. There was a sadness to his expression that made her curious.

“You do believe in heaven, don’t you?” she asked again. “Heaven is where we will live for eternity with our families, our loved ones, our pets.”

“I’m sure you will get to have that,” he acknowledged. “You are a good person who deserves to have a heaven. All good people go to heaven.” Like Melanie, he thought to himself.

“I believe they do,” she agreed.

“Just not me,” he whispered to himself.

Sister Meredith didn’t hear him and tilted her head in thought. “What do you think about hell?”

“There is a hell,” he assured her.

“I know what I’m supposed to think about hell, but some days I wonder if it’s as bad as we’re made to think,” she admitted.

“I’m afraid that hell will be knowing that no one in heaven misses me when I don’t arrive. I’ve been a disappointment to my parents, Father Casey, and to God, and nobody in heaven is gonna miss me.”

“No! You are a good man Father Hugh and I cannot imagine you ever being a disappointment.”

“You don’t know me very well then,” he smirked.

Charlie gasped for air, his final breaths difficult. “Ruby,” he smiled and then he was gone.

The monitors beeped, Charlie’s chest exhaled for the last time and a tear fell from Sister Meredith’s cheek. She smiled as she glanced up at the priest, knowing that Charlie and Ruby were together again… in heaven. “They’re happy again.”

Father Hugh just nodded and they left the nursing home, each of them in their own thoughts. Sister Meredith felt a peace at Charlie’s passing, but Father Hugh felt restless and uneasy. As a priest, it was his job to preach of heaven and set the example of how to get there. As a man, he was sure he had no hope of ever reaching eternal glory and presumed he was headed in the opposite direction.

She’s lived so long in the darkness and Will is like the sun. He makes her laugh more than she has in years and cares for her more than her own family.

But there are things about Audrey that Will doesn’t know, things he can’t know. She tries to push him away, but he just ends up getting closer to her, and to her secret. Is the risk of losing him forever worth the chance a being with the only person she’s ever loved who has loved her back?

Excerpt

“Look, when you were with Zan, did I tell you what to do? No offense, Zan.”

“None taken,” he called over the splash of the dishes in the sink.

“Uh yeah, you did. You were always telling me to be careful and I know you beat him up that one time. Don’t even try to deny it.” There was no hiding anything from my sister. Mom might as well have named her Sherlock Holmes.

“Yes, but when you told me you were with him, I said I’d get over my own issues because he made you happy. So there.”

She rolled her eyes.

“Real mature, William.”

“Listen, I think I’m just going to go. I don’t need this right now.” I started to get up from the couch, but Lottie grabbed onto me and wouldn’t let go. She might be little, but she was strong.

“Lot, seriously.” But she wouldn’t release me from her clutches, and if I walked, I was taking her with me.

So I sat back down.

“You were the one talking about being mature, and you just did a really good barnacle imitation to get me to not leave.”

“Desperate times, Will. Desperate times.” Zan was making a lot of extra noise in the kitchen to give the illusion of privacy.

“What do you want me to do, Lot? I tried. I told her I loved her. That’s pretty much the best I can do.” Zan dropped a plate and it clunked in the sink.

“Sorry,” he called.

“I don’t know, Will. Win her over. Show her why she should be with you. Be your lovable charming self. You’ve never had any problems getting a girl before.” No, I hadn’t, but Audrey wasn’t just any girl. She was the girl.

“I can’t force her into a relationship with me if that’s not what she wants. I’m pretty sure that’s illegal.” Lottie waved her hand, brushing the legality aside.

“She does want to be with you, that’s the thing. She just has this crazy idea in her head that it won’t work out. You need to show her that you’re not giving up on the relationship, and thus not giving up on her, and maybe she’ll realize that and you two can live happily ever after, get married and have your honeymoon at Comic Con.” Lottie smiled with satisfaction. She just had everything figured out.

Tracey’s Review

4 – Stars

Audrey Valdez and Will Anders have a complicated relationship. He likes her and she likes him, but Audrey has a secret, a secret that she believes will be the end of them.

There is a lot going on in this book. Besides the ever-changing relationship between Audrey and Will, there is the whole back story involving the ‘gang,’ the circle of friends and family that comprise their world. The interaction between Audrey, Will, and the rest of the ‘Family’ is both touching and entertaining. These kids really have each others’ backs, and it’s through the trust and support of each other that Audrey is eventually able to let Will in completely, and see the bright side of life.

The revelation of Audrey’s secret was a bit frustrating for me, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I felt like it was pretty easy to guess what the secret, or the basic gist of it, was, and secondly, it just took such a long time for it to come out. Once we got to see what had actually gone on in Audrey’s life to shape her view of herself, the story moved much more quickly and was more satisfying. That being said, though, I did really enjoy the interaction of all of the characters here, and the continuation of story lines that were introduced in the first two books of the series. And, as with other of Chelsea Cameron’s books, the innate humor really is a plus, and fleshes out the characters and makes them seem that much more real. All in all, this was a good solid read for me, and I recommend it if you’re looking for a sweet, yet sexy, book.

Kelley’s Review

6 Stars

Searching For Perfect is the modern day fairy tale of Beauty and the Geek.  This story was so wonderfully written and captivated me from the first page to the last.  Jennifer Probst has created yet another masterpiece in this read.  I cannot recommend it enough.

I absolutely adored this story and took my time getting to the end because I knew I would be so sad when it was over.  I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.  Kennedy is breathtakingly beautiful.  She has no problem snagging any man that she wants for a night or two because she has no interest in a long term relationship.  That is until project Nate comes stumbling through the door.  She is so excited to take the man who’s initials literally spell out the word NERD (Nathan Ellison Raymond Dunkle) and turn him into  a beautiful butterfly.  He is her Eliza Doolittle.  Never in a million years would she have ever expected to fall for him.

Nate is an aerospace engineer who is so intelligent that he lacks proper social skills.  You know the type with the pocket protector and nerdy glasses.  To top it off he has taken horrible advice from his brother when it comes to women and his pick up lines are extremely chauvinistic.  Kennedy seriously has her work cut out for her.  Nate is smitten with her from the very beginning.  He knows she is way out of his league but he can dream right?  Kennedy is a master at what she does and before long Nathan has turned into a gorgeous hunk and a hot sexy man with a brain just happens to be Kennedy’s kryptonite.

I have never laughed so much when reading a book.  My kids were like mom what is so funny.  Nate and Kennedy are hysterically funny and seriously sexy.  Kennedy is extremely hard headed and is lucky that when Nate wants something he does not back down but at the end of the day you can only do so much and if it was not meant to be you have to let the person go.  The question is will Kennedy come back to him or will he have moved on.  She did set him up with another woman.

Jennifer does a masterful job developing these characters and the supporting cast is superb once again.  Nate’s brother Connor is a riot.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this lighthearted and fun romance.  I gave this book 6-stars because it was immensely entertaining from start to finish.  I did not want it to end.  I am telling all my friends and all of you that if you take a chance on Searching For Perfect you will not be sorry.  This book is in my Top 25 Romances for 2014.

You don’t choose when.

You don’t choose where.

And you don’t get to choose who you fall in love with.

The minute he opened his sexy mouth, Holliday Hughes should have known Jack Dalton was trouble. His smooth pickup lines, broad shoulders, and ridiculously handsome face charmed her right out of her clothes. She gave into her desires, the instant attraction blinding her to the obvious.

One night. That was all it took for Holliday’s world to be flipped on its axis. Jack Dalton was cocky. Smug. Volatile. Demanding. He ignited something deep inside her like no other, but there was something more to this brooding bad boy. There was a dark side to him she couldn’t help but be drawn to.

Torn between what she knew about him and a mysterious side he tried to hide, could she walk away or was he simply too hard to resist?

Excerpt

Wait. Don’t go. Stay. Whether we have sex or not, I just want your company.” His expression appears sincere, but he seems to have several sides to him.

With my back against the door, I keep my eyes on his. “Look. I don’t sleep around… much. But I have slept with someone just because it was Wednesday.” I shrug. “So I’m not innocent over here, but I work hard and I have a pretty crappy social life because of it. Sometimes it’s nice to feel a warm touch that vibrates with excitement instead of a cold one that’s battery-operated.” I step forward as if I owe him more, more of an explanation, or more of me, I’m not sure. “Judge me if you must, but I’m in Vegas and now officially on vacation. And despite what you may think, I’ve only had the one drink so far today, so I’m not drunk. I’m a grown woman who appreciates a handsome face and the artistry of a tattoo that has meaning to the person wearing it. I actually thought we’d have dinner and a good time. All that came from somewhere pure, somewhere that now feels dirty, a little tainted. So I’m going now and if one day you find yourself not so lost in Los Angeles, you know my information.”

I don’t wait for a response or apology. I don’t know Dalton well enough to know if he’d offer one anyway. So I go without looking back, passing the room service waiter on the way, and hop in an elevator that’s for the exclusive use of the two penthouses.

Half expecting to hear him call after me, my finger hovers over the Lobby button, but I count to ten and when I don’t hear anything, I push it. The doors start to close when a hand reaches in, stopping them. Dalton peeks around the corner with a big smile in place, and says, “Can we start over? Stay for dinner?”

“Why?”

“Because I like you. I like your honesty and I don’t get much honesty in my line of work.”
“You’re an undercover narc. Of course you don’t get much honesty. Isn’t that why you got into the business?”

A sly smile crosses his face, revealing a small dimple in his cheek. A light sparks from within, reflecting in his eyes, and with a nod of his head, he says, “Come back. I’ll feed you and give you the sex you came up here for. Because it’s a Friday and while Friday may not be hump day, it’s still a damn good day of the week.”

My mouth drops open. “The sex? You’ll give me the sex because it’s Friday?” I roll my eyes while huffing, and then push the lobby button twice.

Stepping inside, he blocks the doors from closing and a buzz is heard from overhead. With his arms stretched wide, he looks into my eyes. “No. I mean, if you want the food that’s currently getting cold inside, you can have it. If you want to have sex, let’s fuck. You can have anything you want.”

The elevator starts buzzing even louder, escalating its level of warning. Dalton spreads his feet apart to hold the doors open and reaches for me. “I’ll even call you Holli since that’s what you prefer.”

He’s sexy and when he’s flirting with me, even sexier. I can’t give in too easily though. I should make a few ground rules, or at least one. “I’ll only come back on one condition.”

“Name it.”

Tracey’s Review

bigstock_Five_stars_Mesh_13933472

Hot rock star alert! Jack Dalton is one sexy man, and ‘The Resistance’ gets five sizzling stars. If you’re looking for the hottest story to hit lately, look no further.

When Holliday Hughes and Jack Dalton meet in Las Vegas, she has no idea who he really is. She just sees a man that awakens every one of her senses and makes her leave her objections at the door. The sparks fly non-stop, and what begins as a weekend of off-the-charts passion give ways way to feelings that neither one expected. When Holli discovers Jack’s alter ego, she must decide whether she’s prepared to make the sacrifices necessary to stay in a relationship with him.

I picked up ‘The Resistance,’ and I could NOT put it down. This is by far one of my favorite reads of 2014, and here’s why: Jack Dalton is everything you look for in a BBF: sexy, snarky, smart, and with just a little bit, okay, a lot, of baggage. Once he decides he wants Holliday, there is no WAY that she’s going to be able to say no. It’s impossible not to love him, and to love them together. There were definitely moments that I wanted to throw my ereader across the room, but I hung in there, hoping that things would work out the way that I wanted.

That’s the funny thing,” he says, keeping his voice low, just for my ears alone. “We try to label it to make ourselves feel less crazy for not being able to predict the outcome. But while we’re busy trying to define it, we miss the magic.”

I mean, come on, swoon-worthy, right?

I cannot recommend ‘The Resistance’ highly enough. Get out there and one-click it; you will not be sorry!

Review

bigstock_Five_stars_Mesh_13933472

Let’s Misbehave is a fun and refreshing love story about two lovers that are doing their best to keep out of the media spotlight.  I adored this story and fell in love with Merrick and Imogen.  Katy writes some very spicy rendezvous between these two that will have your knickers in a twist for sure.

Imogen Summerhill is beautiful and extremely intelligent.  She can speak nine languages and graduated at the top of her class but none of that matters now because all the media cares about are the dirty pictures and sex tape released to the world by her ex boyfriend Dirk.

Merrick Graham is trying to shed his bad boy image as rock star Ricky Hazard to be taken seriously as a politician.  The last thing he needs is the media frenzy that is following around Imogen.  She would bring him right back to Ricky after he has worked so hard to become Merrick the upstanding seriously boring member of Parliament.

When these two cross at a charity ball there is no denying the attraction.

“The caption says Merrick Graham, bad boy politician.”  Imogen glared at the photo.  “This conversation was perfectly innocent.  I didn’t even know his name.  The photo just makes it look like their were sparks.”

Katy does a great job developing two very fun characters in this story.  They compliment each other quite well.  He helps to keep Imogen’s bad girl tendencies at bay while she draws out his inner tiger.

Let’s Misbehave is the perfect book to start the spring season fresh and new.  If you like sweet romance with a little spice you will love this read.

Surrender is scorching hot and will leave you panting for more.  If you want to know what to read after The Fifty Shades of Grey this is it!

I read this series last year as it came out.  Let me tell you I just about died after Surrender waiting for Submit.  This book is that good and it is FREE right now so you have nothing to lose.  Before writing this review I went back and re-read Surrender and it was just as good as it was the first time and I could not go to bed last night until I started Submit.  I had to see what Ari was going to do again even though I knew what she was going to do.  I had to read it again just to be sure :).

Rafe is a very alpha dominant male who puts an add in the paper for job that sounds too good to be true.  His job description is very vague and Ari is intrigued.  It pays quite a bit of money and she needs the money to pay for her mother’s medical bills.  Ari is very sweet, highly intelligent, and witty.  In the beginning she may seem a little timid but boy does she let Rafe have it.  He is thrown off balance because no one has ever talked back to him and told him no.  She becomes his biggest challenge and he goes above and beyond what he has ever done to have a woman.  Even after all of his hard work she still says NO!.  I absolutely love Arianna.  She is spunky and I was on her side 100 percent.

Melody Anne does an amazing job with character development. Arianna is a girl after my own heart and let me tell you after I read this book the first time I hated Rafe.  I had read all of Melody Anne’s Billionaire Bachelors Series and was super excited about this series and then I met Rafe and wanted to scream.  By the time you get to the fourth book Scorched you are totally in love with him and realize that he was just scared of getting hurt again.  This is a series that at the end I wanted to cry that it was over.  My friends and I were hooked from the moment we finished Surrender.

Surrender will take you on a wild ride and leave you one-clicking Submit as soon as possible.

No one writes sizzling hot menage like Lexi and Shayla do.  Hot Damn!

Their Virgin Secretary is a panty melting scorcher.

Annabelle (Belle) Wright thinks she knows what she wants.  Her bosses. She’s see’s how happy her friend Kinley is with her three husbands and wants that for herself.  But how taboo would it be to be married to three men? She was beginning not to care because she had strong feelings for Tate, Eric, and Kellan.  She had no clue that those boys had been watching her too.  What she would give for just one night.

This story is packed with everything including a haunted mansion, voodoo, ghosts, and murder.  I was literally on the edge of my seat waiting for something else to jump out and grab me.  Belle gives the boys one shot and they blow it, big time.  So when she finds out that she has inherited her aunts estate in New Orleans she is out the door.  Kinley helps her escape and Belle’s trio of alpha males are not happy about it. Even though they are not happy they are still in love with her.  Of course it does not take long for Tate the technonerd to track Belle down.  Kellan, Eric, and Tate are destined for apologies and groveling in order to win her back.  This part cracks me up and the fact that Lexi and Shayla named Belle’s dog Sir.

“Kinley said you left with someone you called Sir,” Tate said.  “But you were just being polite, right?  You’re a very well-mannered woman.  You wouldn’t have just met some random man and run off with him. I mean, if you waited twenty-six years to have sex, you’re probably not going to copulate with a stranger.”

“Tate, you’re not helping the situation, “ Kellan said.

It does not take long for the boys to set up shop and try to convince Belle that their relationship can work.  They want her to move back to Chicago and be their girl.  The problem is that Belle does not want to move back to Chicago.  She wants to start a new life for herself in New Orleans and is not interested in being anyone’s secretary.  So will the men be able to convince Belle of their love and that this crazy arrangement of theirs can work, or is it too late?

I have really enjoyed this series.  It is a lot a of fun and has just the right amount of sizzlin hot sexy scenes to keep you fanning yourself and panting for more.  Lexi Blake and Shayla Black are the Mistresses of Menage.  No one writes sinfully sexy panty melting menage like Lexi and Shayla.

Excerpt

Chapter One

Annabelle Wright sipped champagne and glanced at her best friend as she prepared for the “big day,” a deep sense of déjà vu settling over her. “Haven’t we done this before?”

At the last wedding Kinley Kohl had planned, she’d been kidnapped and whisked away to Alaska by three super-hot men. Luckily, they’d saved Kinley from her asshole of a fiancé who, it turned out, made his money by fencing blood diamonds and running other profitable scams while giving the FBI the finger. He also hadn’t minded a little murder just for fun. The trio of guys who had taken Kinley before her nuptials had eventually made her their own, so being abducted had worked out well for her.

Kinley grinned as she fluffed out the veil she’d selected. “Oh, we’ve been here before. Hopefully, this wedding won’t have the same drama as the last. Just in case, I tried to convince Dominic we needed extra security but he gave me that stare. You know, the Dom Dom stare.”

Belle couldn’t help but laugh. Dominic Anthony was part owner of Anthony Anders, one of the top security firms in the country. He was also a Dom in the D/s community. And yes, she’d seen that particular glare, the one meant to convey that Kinley better do what the Dom wanted—and quickly. Belle frequently glimpsed a very similar expression from Kellan Kent. When he turned his blue eyes on her, she ached to fall to her knees and fulfill his every demand. Unfortunately, that stare of Kellan’s usually wasn’t directed at her. “I think we’re safe this time.”

“Probably so,” Kinley agreed with a peaceful sigh. “Everyone who hates me is enjoying a nice long stay in prison. I heard Becks got shanked. She still managed to live though. Oh, well, maybe next time.”

Nearly being killed by her former fiancé and her sister had made Kinley a bit bloodthirsty. Belle couldn’t blame her. She’d wanted their blood and misery, too, after she’d learned just how close they’d come to ending her best friend. Months later, the thought still made her shiver. But before the happy ending, Belle’s first instinct had been to rush to Kinley’s side and help in any way she could. Kellan had forbidden her.

You’re not going anywhere, Belle. If you try, I’ll tie you up and spank your ass so hard you’ll never forget the feel of my hand on your skin. Eric, Tate, and I will handle this.

Even months later, his edict didn’t make sense. Unlike Eric and Tate, Kell almost never took her to lunch or showed more than a passing interest in her.

When she’d asked why she couldn’t help save her best friend from three abductors, he had frowned and turned away, heading for his computer. Because I won’t have you hurt, Belle. I’ll protect you. Even from myself.

She’d only thought she heard the last part since it had been muttered under his breath, but that moment had been a turning point. While Kellan thought that threatening her with a spanking was the worst thing he could do, Belle had been forced to face the truth: she didn’t want to spend her whole life not knowing what it felt like to have Kellan’s hands on her. Or Eric’s. Or Tate’s. But now it seemed like she would.

She forced the maudlin thoughts aside.

“Dallas has been good to you.” A bit of sorrow crept into her voice. Since Kinley had moved in with Dominic and the Anders brothers, Law and Riley, she hadn’t had a ton of time for her bestie. And now Kinley was pregnant. Though she wasn’t showing yet, Belle knew Kinley would soon be engrossed in all things baby. It didn’t help that she lived in Chicago and her position as Girl Friday at Baxter, Cohen, and Kent consumed all her time. Lately, she’d been thinking about changing that. She couldn’t imagine not being around for Kinley’s child.

Belle had simply thought she’d have one of her own by now. Or at least be planning to start her own family. But she wasn’t even close.

“I miss you,” Kinley said, pulling her in for a hug.

“I miss you, too,” Belle admitted, teary-eyed. She really couldn’t remember a time Kinley hadn’t been her best friend. Even when they had attended different colleges and began their careers a few hundred miles apart, they’d always had each other. Now everything between them was…different. “I’m getting tired of missing you. Maybe I should move closer.”

Kinley pulled back with a shake of her blond hair, her brows forming a concerned V. “Away from Chicago? Away from your men?”

Belle took another long sip of her cocktail and forced herself to swallow the bitter truth. “They aren’t mine, Kinley. They never will be.”

Kellan Kent, Eric Cohen, and Tate Baxter were gorgeous lawyers, but she worked for them. They were her bosses, not her lovers. Just because she harbored fantasies of them didn’t mean they’d ever feel the same. In fact, after a solid year of working together, not one of them had made a pass. Belle doubted now they ever would. Apparently, her place was behind a desk, not in their arms.

She would have been happy with any one of them. Then she’d discovered they preferred to share women. That knowledge had given her libido one hell of a boost. Yes, she’d been shocked at first, but after some consideration, it had made an odd kind of sense. The three of them had become an unusual sort of family, each relying on the others for balance. She couldn’t imagine one of them without the other two.

Sadly, while they shared women, they just didn’t seem inclined to share her. Or even to touch her. The ache that terrible truth caused had become too much to bear. Tonight was her last-ditch attempt. She didn’t know how to look better than this. If they weren’t attracted to her tonight, then it was definitely over.

Kinley frowned. “I don’t know about that. I see the way they watch you.”

She’d seen it, too. Or rather she thought she’d seen it. When Kinley had been in danger and they’d feared she would get pulled into it, all three men had gone into über-protective caveman mode. She’d felt their eyes on her. That had given her hope. But as soon as the trouble had blown over, they’d gone back to treating her like a coworker. Clearly, they didn’t want to lose a really efficient office assistant.

“You’re reading too much into it,” Belle insisted. “They’re lazy. They don’t want to have to hire someone else. You should see the intern they brought in. He’s some judge’s kid. He constantly says ‘dude’ and he likes his…ahem, herbal refreshments. I have no idea how that kid is going to get through law school.”

“Don’t change the subject. And stop fooling yourself.” Kinley crossed back over to the small veil, fluffing it out again. “Why don’t you talk to them and tell them what you need? Doms can’t read your mind.”

“I’m not in the lifestyle.”

Kinley submitted to her three Doms in the bedroom. Since starting down the path, she’d become very vocal about the communication aspect of D/s.

“Besides, that isn’t normal in vanilla dating. I should be able to pout like every other woman, then eat ice cream and play angry-girl music when I don’t get my way.”

“Brat.” Kinley winked at her. “But I see through your sarcasm. You’re completely interested in their dominance. And I know you like them.”

Like? She was pretty sure she was in love with them.

Kellan was the alpha male, all power and protection. He had everything under control and he always made her feel safe. Eric was the charmer, fit and funny and just really enjoyable to be around. She went to lunch or dinner with him often, and they talked about movies, sports, current events, and life. He was a sexy mix of athleticism and charisma. And then there was Tate. He believed he was the social outcast of the bunch, but Belle saw him as the brilliant nerd who’d turned into a smoking hottie. Half the time, she giggled at the outrageous things that came out of his mouth because he had no filter whatsoever. That also meant he tended to be the most honest. When he told her she looked beautiful, she believed him. The other half of the time she spent with him, he often floored her with his astonishing intelligence. His mind fascinated her as much as his body.

Apparently, all her feelings were one-sided.

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea, Kinley. They’ve had opportunities and passed them over. None of them are shy. If they were interested…I’d know it. Instead, I watch them date other women. It hurts.” She would only admit that to her best friend. The ache in her chest had become a real, physical thing. “I don’t think I can do it anymore. Seeing you so happy, knowing what life could be, I can’t stay here in limbo, hoping and waiting. I need to move on.”

Kinley took her hand, her fingers tangling with Belle’s. “Do you want me to throw mud pies at them? It worked on Tommy Harte.”

Belle laughed, remembering how Kinley had taken down the boy who’d made fun of her in fourth grade. But they weren’t children anymore, and revenge wouldn’t make those three lawyers love her. “It’s a sweet offer, but like I said, I’m thinking it’s time to move on. I’m not getting any younger.”

She was twenty-six and had barely been kissed.

Kinley squeezed her hand, her eyes widening. “Are you still…?”

“A virgin?” Belle frowned, trying not to be embarrassed.

She told herself she had no reason to be. Maybe it was weird to others. Most twenty-six year olds had a couple of lovers under their belt, but Belle was picky about everything. She’d once spent three months deciding on the right curtains to put over the tiny window in her bathroom. She wasn’t about to take a lover just to keep others from laughing at her. That part of her life—or lack thereof—wasn’t anyone’s business.

“Don’t you think I would have told you if I’d done the deed?” Belle asked. “Although I didn’t get a phone call from you until weeks after you’d slept with your guys.”

“I lost my virginity during a kidnapping. They took my phone or I swear I would have called you immediately.” Kinley made a cooing call. “Come on, Gigi.”

Kinley’s Yorkie yipped a little and jumped from her comfy spot in Kinley’s Prada tote. The dog tended to travel in whatever designer bag Kinley carried. The very pampered pooch stretched and yawned before jumping onto the ottoman and settling herself down. She didn’t make a move as Kinley placed the tiny veil on her head.

That was one well-trained dog.

The sound of yipping floated through the door as it opened and Dominic Anthony walked in. He looked urbane with his artfully mussed inky hair and perfectly tailored tux, but the effect was somewhat ruined by the three wriggling puppies in his arms.

“Kinley, sweetheart, you know I love you and I want you to have a great day, but I’m going to kill the puppies now. I’ll make it quick. They won’t feel a thing.”

“No, you won’t! Those sweet babies are proof of Gigi and Butch’s love.”

“They’re proof we should have gotten our damn dogs fixed. Number two pooped in my shoes. Three chewed up the curtains in the groom’s room, so we’re paying for that. And One ate a bar of soap, then yakked all over the place. Promise me our kids aren’t going to be this destructive.” He put the pups down and they immediately started darting all over the room, looking for mischief.

“No promises,” Kinley said with a saucy smile. “You’ve got about seven months before the chaos begins. I can promise you I won’t be having a litter, though. Just one for now. And I’ll make sure he doesn’t poop in your shoes. You know, it’s really a sign of affection. They like your smell.”

“Yeah? I don’t like theirs,” Dominic groused. “Now that they’re weaned, it’s time to find them happy homes.” Placing a gentle hand on Kinley’s stomach, he kissed her, then sighed. “And now I have to go clean my shoes. Damn it. Do not eat the flipping curtains again, Three. They’re expensive.”

As the puppy barked, Dominic shook his head and left.

Kinley and Gigi seemed utterly inured to the chaos around them. Belle watched as the pups continued exploring the room, nose first. “One, Two, and Three?”

“The guys won’t let me name them because they think I’ll want to keep them.” She petted her dog softly. “Gigi’s been fixed now so there won’t be any more little four-legged surprises. But I’m going to find these three the best homes ever.”

Belle hoped Kinley could work miracles. The poor little things wouldn’t find anyone willing to take them on looks alone. They were a weird mix of Yorkie and whatever the hell Dominic’s huge dog Butch was. In short, those were some fugly little pups.

But she had something in common with them. She was looking for a new home, too. Despite the fact that she’d settled into her Chicago apartment, somehow it just had never felt like home.

She thought again about the letter she’d received a month before. She’d been putting off addressing the issue because they’d had big cases to tackle at the firm. She couldn’t leave her bosses in a lurch. Then she’d been too tired, too battered by recent rains, too afraid to give up today when they might come around tomorrow. She’d found just about every excuse to not rock the boat.

But watching Kinley with her husbands made Belle certain this boat needed to be rocked. She’d tried to drop anchor in Chicago…but clearly it was time to float elsewhere.

“Doesn’t she make a beautiful bride?” Kinley held Gigi up and stared at her angular little canine face. The damn dog wore a wedding dress.

Belle loved Kinley, but sometimes, her bestie was completely insane. “Yep. Let’s get this show on the road. There’s an open bar at the other end of this wedding, right?”

Hopefully the reception wasn’t all kibble.

“Of course.” Kinley laughed. “I know a dog wedding is silly, but Dominic, Law, and Riley insisted on a quickie Vegas ceremony for us. They thought they could get out of a big party. Ha! I might be making an honest woman out of my Yorkie, but that reception is going to be all me. We’ve got a full bar, and those men will be dancing.”

Belle had to hand it to her friend. Kinley knew how to get her way. “Well, I’ll be there beside you.”

They finished getting ready and gathered the dogs. Belle couldn’t help but think that even the dog was getting married before her.

It was definitely time for a change.

* * * *

“We’re at a damn dog wedding. We flew down from Chicago to see two freaking canines bark out their vows. Please tell me someone else sees how illogical this is.” Tate Baxter shook his head as he looked at the happy “couple.”

Gigi and Butch were seated in places of honor at the elaborate reception, silver bowls in front of them. He often marveled at the crazy things people did for their pets. He’d never had one. Didn’t see the rationale. When he wanted company, he walked into Eric’s room. That had caused a few uncomfortable situations because he’d never seen any particular reason to knock first.

“It is,” Eric agreed.

Tate sat back in his chair at the table he shared with his two friends, still shaking his head. “I put off prepping for an important case tonight to come to this event.”

Well…sort of. The case was on his laptop, so he could just as easily do it on the plane ride home tomorrow, but that wasn’t the point. He certainly hadn’t come because he had any grand desire to see two dogs get hitched.

“Not exactly,” Eric corrected. “You came for the same reason I did. We want to be wherever the hell Belle is. But hey, it ended up being the most entertaining wedding I can remember. The groom tried to hump the bride in the middle of the ceremony. And right in front of their three illegitimate kids,” he joked. “And did you see that one of the puppies peed on the minister?”

Kellan set his beer on the pristine white tablecloth in front of him, shaking his head. “Don’t fool yourself. This shindig wasn’t about the dogs. Kinley is topping from the bottom in a big way. She wanted her grand wedding and this is how she got it. I would say she’s earned one hell of a spanking, but Dominic’s gone soft.”

Tate fought hard not to roll his eyes. Kellan was a hard-ass. He took the whole Dom thing way too seriously, if anyone asked him. Which they didn’t. And that was a mistake because he’d been smart enough to figure out that he liked to dominate a female sexually, but he needed a woman who took charge of him when he missed social cues or forgot to put on matching shoes—stuff like that. “Ease up. She’s pregnant. They’re being indulgent.”

Law Anders was out on the dance floor with his wife, swaying to the music and wearing a big smile as he rubbed himself against Kinley. Dance had been a mystery to Tate for years, until Eric had explained that it was really just an excuse for a guy to rub his penis all over a girl and not get slapped in the face. After that, Tate had totally seen the logic and understood why men bothered with dance. He really enjoyed it now.

As he glanced around, Tate looked for Belle, hoping for an opportunity to rub his penis all over her. Inside her would even be better. Whatever she’d allow.

One year, two months, and four days. Four hundred thirty days all totaled, but he hated to calculate their time together that way. It depressed him. Ten thousand three hundred twenty hours wasn’t much better, considering that was how long he’d gone without sex. Because that was how long it had been since he’d first laid eyes on Annabelle Wright. She’d walked into his office with her resume in hand, and he’d just stared, dumbstruck. He didn’t believe in love at first sight, but he’d found lust in that single glance. Oh, yeah. He’d taken one look at the goddess applying for a job and known exactly why he’d gone to the gym five times a week since he’d turned seventeen.

But love? He’d taken a whole week of consideration before deciding that he had fallen in love with Belle. After all, he was a careful man. He liked to think things through.

“Indulgence leads to chaos. Dominic is going to rue the day he let that sub run wild.” Kellan frowned at Kinley.

Tate just swiveled his gaze toward the dance floor. “Who is that?”

Kellan’s gaze shot straight to the dance floor and he scowled.

Belle danced with some overgrown ape whose smile seemed way too friendly. She looked gorgeous in her emerald cocktail dress. Its neck and body-fitting lines showed off her every curve. She wasn’t a tall woman, but those crazy-sexy black shoes she wore made her legs look deliciously long. Tate had no idea how women maintained their balance on those high, thin heels. He was pretty sure, however, they would look great wrapped around his neck.

The only thing he didn’t like about the way Belle looked was the animated expression she turned up at the lug hanging on her. Then she laughed—a sound that always did strange things to his insides.

Eric slapped a big hand across his back. “Chill, buddy. That’s Cole Lennox. He’s a PI here in Dallas. We’ve used his company before. He’s happily married. I don’t think he’s trying to mack on our girl.”

Tate still didn’t like it. “Why isn’t he dancing with his own wife?”

He was rational enough to know that jealousy was a completely illogical response in this situation. Technically, Belle wasn’t his. She’d never even gone on a real date with him. They’d had lunch exactly fifty-two times over the last year, but they’d mostly talked about work. He’d taken her to happy hour fifteen times, where she always ordered vodka tonics, Cîroc or Grey Goose with a half a twist of lime. They’d still talked about work. And the weather. None of that counted, though, because she’d treated him like a colleague, not a boyfriend. He hadn’t kissed her or made his intentions clear, so he had no right to be jealous that Belle danced with another man. For once, he didn’t care if he made less-than-perfect sense.

Kellan pointed to the other end of the floor. “He can’t. His brother is dancing with her. They’re twins and I’ve heard they share.”

“Really?” Tate sat up and sent a challenging glance to Kell and Eric. “I’m seeing a pattern here. The Lennox twins married the same girl. Those three oil tycoons over there have one wife, and we all saw the trio of royal princes walk in with their bride. Hell, the whole board of Anthony Anders decided to marry the same woman. But it can’t work for us? Explain that.”

That was the argument Tate had heard from Eric and especially Kellan for the past year, ever since the night they’d sat around the office and each admitted they were crazy about their new secretary. Administrative Assistant. Office Manager. Belle had changed her title more than once. She took exception to the term secretary, but Tate thought it was kind of hot.

Kellan sighed, turning toward him. “Just because it works for other people doesn’t mean it would work for the two of you.”

“The two of us? Really? You’re still going to play it that way?” Eric challenged. “Tell me you don’t want her, too.”

Kellan’s eyes hooded. Tate had made an almost scientific study of his friends in an attempt to really understand them. Kellan had four major expressions that he used like masks. This particular one Tate had named “stubborn asshole.” Kellan used it a lot.

“Of course I want her. I’ve never denied that. She’s a beautiful woman, not to mention lovely, kind, and very smart. If I was interested in getting married again, I would be all over her. But I’m not, and I doubt she’s the type of woman to have no-strings-attached sex.”

“I want strings.” Tate needed to make that brutally clear because his partners seemed to constantly forget. They should take notes during their conversations the way he often did. But again, no one asked his opinion. “I want to be tangled up in all her strings. She’s the one. I get that what we want is unusual, though it really doesn’t seem that way today. I swear the two dogs are the only non-ménage relationship here. Belle might be surprised that we all want her, but she’s not going to be shocked. She’s fine with Kinley’s marriage.”

Eric sighed. “Maybe, but we need to be careful. She hasn’t dated anyone since she started working with us.”

Tate knew that very well since he’d been keeping an eye on her. Hopefully she never knew the extent of his observation because what he’d done was somewhat illegal. And possibly a little stalkerish.

“There’s some reason for that,” Eric went on.

Didn’t they get it? “Because she’s waiting for us to make a move.”

“Or she’s just working hard and isn’t ready to settle down,” Kellan pointed out. “She’s young, man.”

“It’s not like we’re old.”

At least Tate didn’t feel old. He was thirty-two. Given that the average life expectancy of an American male was seventy-six, that didn’t sound old. Then he did the math and realized that he was forty-two percent of the way through his accepted life expectancy. Forty-two percent—closing in on half. When he looked at it that way, he did feel old. He refused to waste another second.

“That’s it.” Tate stood and straightened his tie. “I’m going in.”

God, he hoped he looked halfway decent because he often got rumpled and didn’t notice. He would probably still be wearing pocket protectors if he hadn’t become good friends with Eric in high school.

He’d tutored the jock through Algebra II, and Eric had taught him that jeans weren’t supposed to hit above the ankles. They’d been a weird duo, the jock and the nerd. But their relationship meant more to him than any other. His parents were cold intellectuals who had told him he’d failed by not going into academic pursuits—because yeah, Harvard law had been a breeze. His brothers cared more about their experiments than family. So Tate and Eric had stuck together like blood, and Kellan had joined them after college to form the tight-knit trio.

But Tate realized now that he needed more. He needed Belle. So did they, but if they had their heads too far up their asses… Well, she had to come first. “I’m going to do it. I’m going to offer her my penis.”

Eric’s head hit the table and he groaned. “Dude, how do you ever get laid?”

So he wasn’t smooth. At least he was honest. “She already has my heart. I would like for her to take my penis, too. Is that so much to ask?”

“If you ask her like that, she’ll smack you,” Kellan pointed out.

Frustration welled. He sat back down. “Damn it, that’s why we need to go after her as a pack. I’m not good at the smooth stuff.”

“By smooth stuff, he means any type of actual communication with a woman.” Eric rolled his eyes.

They were totally missing the point. “I communicate fine. She’ll know what I want and how I want it.”

“Which is precisely why she’ll know where she wants to slap you next.” Kellan shook his head. “This might be a bad idea, but it couldn’t hurt for you to dance with her. Can you do that without asking her to take your penis in marriage?”

He wasn’t completely sure. His cock had a mind of its own. “I’ll try to handle it.”

“Good. Go on, then. I’ll talk to Eric.” Kell sighed. “I guess we really do need to figure out how to handle her. I can’t stand the thought of another uncomfortable plane trip back. She didn’t talk to me the whole flight down. The hands-off approach isn’t working. I get the feeling she’s just about ready to throw in the towel and leave us all.” Kellan’s eyes narrowed suddenly. “And that asshole isn’t married. Go. Make sure he doesn’t get his hands on Belle.”

Tate’s stare zipped to her. Sure enough, a guy was cutting in on Lennox. He leered down at Annabelle, then stared directly at her boobs.

Those boobs were his, damn it. At least he fully intended for those boobs to belong to him. Well, a third of them anyway. “You two work it out because I’m making a move by the end of the night, and if you leave this up to me, it could all go to hell.”

He knew he was the social idiot of the group, but he was the only one completely honest with himself. Belle was the one for all three of them. She made him feel like the best version of himself, encouraged him to actually give a damn what other people thought, helped him put someone else above himself, and gave him no choice but to love her. Sure, the real world would think he, Eric, and Kell were freaks for loving the same woman, but the real world sucked. According to them, he’d been a freak most of his life. So what? They’d have their circle of friends, all of whom had a similar relationship with their own wives, to make them feel normal.

Either way, he wasn’t going to let Belle slip through his fingers. He had a genius-level IQ, but he’d figured out something his parents and brothers hadn’t: His intellect meant nothing if he didn’t have people to care about, those who truly loved him in return. A Nobel Prize wouldn’t keep him warm at night, wouldn’t give him something to really live for.

But she could.

Tate stared at her for a moment, loving the way the light played on the coffee color of her skin. She smiled up at her dance partner, her expression lighting up the whole damn world.

She was his, and he was tired of waiting. It was time to really start his life and that meant it was time to claim her.

Fuck, he hoped he didn’t step on her feet.

SHATTERED Synopsis:

Alyssa Boyd had big plans. Big plans that included getting the hell out of the little town she’d grown up in with her two best friends. When she decided it was time to let one of them know her true feelings for him; a change of plans resulted in a tragic turn of events. Now, Alyssa is left alone to find her way out of the darkness that an untimely death has left in its wake.

Jesse Vaughn was never good at letting people in. He’d learned a long time ago that it’s easier that way because people leave, or, unfortunately, die. The one person he wanted to let in doesn’t want him anymore. The only problem is he can’t stop thinking about her. Jesse returns to the childhood home he left behind with one goal in mind… to convince her that they should be together.

When Jesse finds Alyssa she’s not the same girl he left behind. She’s wild, reckless and hell-bent on not giving Jesse a second chance. Lucky for Jesse, his stubborn streak has always been a mile-wide and he’s not about to give up on her.

When your life has been shattered can you really pick up all the pieces and move on?

EXCERPT:

Jesse Vaughn was back.

Was he the one who took me home from the party last night? Why didn’t I remember? How drunk was I?

It had been nine long months since I’d last seen him, or even heard from him for that matter. I turned back to face January and Hap in utter disbelief.

“Yep.” Hap nodded with a confirming smile. January’s expression matched her boyfriend’s. They were excited about the possible reunion of Jesse and me. January knew everything that almost happened, so it went without saying that Hap was clued in. I hated to break it to them, but this wasn’t going to be the happily ever after that they’d hoped for. As much as I wanted to run up, wrap my arms around his neck and tell him how much I’d missed him, I couldn’t fight the dormant anger that I’d let be suppressed by the sadness and guilt. He left me. It was bad enough that Garrett was gone, but that wasn’t his choice. Jesse had left because he wanted to. I brought my hands up and covered my face, hoping he would walk back out the door before I had to face him.

“Hey, Lyss.” The tone of his voice was hesitant, surely he knew I was in shock to see him. “How are you?” It was hard to tell if he meant, “How are you? It’s been nine months since I last saw you.” or “How are you after getting completely shit-faced last night?” Just hearing his deep, raspy voice sent a ripple across my skin. I really thought he was gone.

I looked up to see him standing beside our table. He looked the same. He’d let his hair grow out, just a little bit longer, but it was same jet-black color and messy tousled look I remembered. The glow of his suntanned skin led me to believe that he’d been hiding out somewhere sunny as opposed to what I’d assumed, which was that he must have crawled under a rock and died, or fell off the face of the earth. Why else would he have just completely disappeared from my life? Everything that had happened the night of Garrett’s accident flashed in my mind. I couldn’t even begin to form a complete sentence. Instead, I pushed out of the booth and looked directly in the eyes I’d tried to forget.

“Don’t,” was all I could come up with before I ran out of the diner.

“Alyssa, please.” He followed me out the door. “Can’t we just talk?”

“No!” I yelled out, not breaking my stride as I walked across the street.

His hands stopped mine before I could pull the car door open and escape. The contact of our skin sent a shock up my arm. “Please.” I turned to see the desperation in his eyes. He pulled his lip between his teeth and brushed a stray hair from my cheek. His hand rested on my cheek. I caught myself turning my face into his strong, warm hand and quickly pulled away. As much as I wanted to fight it, everything that I’d felt for him was still there. I still wanted him to touch me. To kiss me. The guilt and anger that accompanied the desire was too much.

“I can’t do this, Jesse.” I pulled my face from his and quickly sunk behind the wheel of my car. I drove away, leaving him alone on the street.

I wasn’t ready to talk to him. To ask him the string of questions that had been running through my head for months. To explain my erratic behavior the night before. I wasn’t ready for any of it. So, I did the only thing I could think of to avoid the entire situation. I went home, opened the desk drawer and retrieved my new foolproof method of not dealing with it.

Tracey’s Review

4 Stars

Life can change in the blink of an eye. What should have been another great night for Alyssa Boyd and her two best friends turns instead into one that will change them all forever.

Alyssa has been best friends with Garrett and Jesse since the day that the boys took her under their wings and showed her what it was like to be part of something really special. The trio was inseparable, doing everything together. One night, when Alyssa and Jesse finally act on the feelings that have been growing between them, Garrett is lost to them, leaving their small circle broken, and both Alyssa and Jesse devastated. Not knowing how to deal with the loss, and fueled by angry words from Alyssa’s mother, Jesse leaves Alyssa behind to face life without both him and Garrett. When he finally returns, ready to admit to his love for Alyssa, she has changed. No longer the lively girl that he knew, Alyssa is numb, just trying to make it through each day.

At it’s core, ‘Shattered’ is not only a story about romantic love, but also the importance of love between friends and the relationships that define us and make us who we are. Alyssa was able to find the support and care that were lacking in her home life in her relationship with Garrett and Jesse. When Garrett died, and Jesse left, her world was turned upside down, and she was left with little to give her the reinforcement that she had lost.

The one thing that I had trouble with was Alyssa’s thought processes regarding Jesse, and the way that she dealt with his actions after his return. She excused her decisions by saying that he was acting out of selfishness, when he was really trying to do what he felt was in her best interest or to protect her. Overall, though, I thought that ‘Shattered’ was a good story, and I enjoyed seeing the reemergence of the ‘happy’ Alyssa once Jesse returned, and the way that Elizabeth Lee wrapped up everything by the end.

REVIEW

bigstock_Five_stars_Mesh_13933472
Out of My Mind continues the love story of Carrie and Finn. Finn has returned from war but he isn’t the same person he used to be. He is scarred and haunted by the things he saw. He loves Carrie just as much as he ever did but he can’t keep all of the memories and the pain from affecting him and his relationship with her.

Carrie does everything she can to help him. She doesn’t sleep because she is trying to help Finn through his nightmares. She worries constantly over his physical and emotional scars. But sometimes even the ones you love aren’t enough to keep you from falling apart.

This book was so amazing. It is such a true representation of what a soldier goes through when returning home. Finn was heartbreakingly tormented and his character was so completely authentic and life like. Carrie was strong and believed so utterly in her love of Finn. She is depicted perfectly in the role of the partner of a man with PTSD.

This book was so true to life and pulled so much feeling from me as a wife of a soldier that had PTSD. It was written with so much honesty and so much emotion. Read this book and go through the ups and downs with Finn and Carrie. You will feel a little rung out at the end, but damn if it’s not worth it.

Deep Surrendering by Chelsea M. Cameron Blog Tour + Review + Giveaway

When Fin ran out on Marisol, leaving her naked on her couch, she swore she was done with him. There was no way she would forgive him, let alone see him again. But fate, or something else, had different ideas, and she ran into him again the very next day.

Instead of hating his guts and wanting him to die, Marisol finds that’s she’s still attracted to Fin. She just can’t get him out of her system. Maybe if they had one night together? Just one night and she could get over him. But will that be enough?

Tracey’s Review – 4 Stars

Since meeting Fintan Herald, Marisol Everly’s life has changed. She’s doing things she never thought she’d do, allowing things she swore she would never allow, and it’s one heck of a crazy ride.

Marisol and Fin were introduced by their mutual friends, who thought that they would make a great match. Their attraction to each other is immediate and intense, and Fin quickly sweeps Marisol off her feet, complete with romantic gestures and a hot sexy demeanor. Then, just as quickly as he began to pursue her, Fin backs off, telling her that his secrets are too dark, and that he is no good for her.

‘Deep Surrendering’ is written as a serial, and Episode 2 picks up immediately following the action in Episode 1. Fin has left Marisol in the absolute heat of the moment, running away just when things were at their most intense. She is shocked, angry, humiliated, and adamant that she is DONE with his craziness. The only problem? She can’t get over her attraction to him, darkness and craziness notwithstanding. Determined to get him out of her system, she invites him to finish what they started, so that she can move on. Fin, unable to get over Marisol as well, agrees, but as they move forward in their relationship, they find themselves unable to be apart, and real feelings begin to develop.

I found the idea of an episodic series interesting, wondering how the story would flow from one book to the next without losing steam. Chelsea Cameron has done an excellent job of keeping the reader interested and invested in Marisol and Fin. The story is told from Marisol’s POV (although both episodes have a bonus POV from Fin), and she is great. She’s smart, sassy, and doesn’t take crap from anyone, which makes her relationship with Fin such a departure for her. Her inner dialogue is a riot, and had me laughing out loud. As well, the secondary characters, especially Marisol’s BFF Chloe, are hilarious, and really add to the story. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Marisol and Fin, and will definitely have Episode 3 at the top of my TBR.
