“Kali!”

I hear Damion shout, but I do not stop. I spot an open elevator and slip inside moments before it closes. I hesitate only briefly, then punch the button for the office floor. If I go to my room, Damion will follow, and I will cave and let him in. I can’t talk to him until I figure out what I’m feeling. Not right now. I won’t talk to him right now.

Hugging myself, I wait for my floor, trying to stop the shaking. Damn it, I’m weak. I don’t want to be weak. The elevator dings for my floor and I exit. Dana is on the phone and waves at me, giving me a smile I just can’t return. At my desk, I all but fall into my chair and will myself not to cry. I grab a stack of mail and start opening it, trying to stay sane.

I know the moment Damion is in the lobby, the scent of him blistering my nostrils. He is like a drug. I think I’ve become that to him, too. He is risking too much for me. I have to leave here, and him, and it’s going to destroy me.

Suddenly he is standing beside me, towering over me. “Let’s go talk.”

I don’t look at him. “No. Not now.”

“Kali—”

I turn to him and snap, “Not. Now.”

“Yes,” he says, turning my chair to face him, his hands on the arms. “Now.”

“Write me up, Damion, fire me, but I am not ready to talk.”

“Hey, Kali—”

The sound of Dana’s voice makes me cringe, and I can’t even look at her. “I, uh,” she stammers from behind me, and I hear her departing steps.

“Either come with me,” Damion warns tightly, “or I’ll pick you up and carry you.”

“Don’t even think about it.”

He pulls me to my feet and drags me into his office, shutting the door and locking it. I try to escape and at least put distance between us. His hand comes down on my arm and he turns me to face him.

I blast him. “You just told the whole damn place that we’re together when we haven’t even really been together. Why would you do that? Why?”

He maneuvers me against the wall, framing my body with his. “We are together, and if you didn’t believe that, you wouldn’t have signed that notarized letter.”

“We aren’t together, and now we won’t ever be together. I have to leave. I can’t stay. I can’t let you get fired over me.”

“I won’t let you go, and I won’t get fired.”

“I had a right to privacy. Terrance should have asked permission to share my personal affairs, and don’t tell me I signed a form or I might hurt you right now. Kent and my alcoholic asshole father—who thinks if he puts ‘functional’ before the ‘alcoholic’ it’s actually acceptable—weren’t supposed to know I’m here. If I wanted them to know, I would have told them.”

“Kali—”

“And I didn’t run away from those people, like you accused me of. I chose to shut them out and be happy. This was supposed to be my place and now it isn’t. Now they know I’m here and everyone here knows about us.”

“This is your place, Kali, and I’m not letting you go without a fight.” His fingers twine in my hair, tilting my head back, forcing me to look at him. “We might be new, Kali, but we’re damn good together.”

“What about—”

“We’ll figure it out. Together, Kali. We’ll figure it out together.” And then his mouth closes down on mine, his tongue stroking past my lips, his palm molding me close to him. I try to resist, but it’s more because I feel I have to, because I should. Only I don’t want to resist this man. Not now and not since the moment I met him. I cave to my need for him, moaning as I sink into the kiss. I know we are headed for trouble, and I’ve had enough trouble. But I have not had enough of him.

I tug at his shirt, suddenly desperate to feel his skin next to mine. To know if it will feel as good as I’ve imagined it would. My fingers slide beneath the cotton material, absorbing his body heat and the warmth of taut skin over hard muscle.

His mouth trails over my cheek to my ear. “Together,” he promises again, his warm breath teasing my sensitive flesh and sending a shiver down my spine.

PANDORA

On his bench, I melt.

Will and Bridget are seriously sexy and hot. I am head over heals for Dr. William Daley!

No one writes BDSM like Lexi Blake. The men are hot, broody, and sexy, and the women are curvy, smart, and sassy. Bridget is the brattiest Sub at sanctum and that is why most of the Doms will not come within ten feet of her. She is not afraid to speak what is on her mind except when it comes to Will. He gets her all tongue-tied and she deny the sparks that are crackling between them.

Will is every woman’s fantasy. He is a sexy neurosurgeon with a six-pack and looks smokin hot in a pair of leathers. After Will’s past relationship he is not looking for anything serious. He is really not sure what he wants in a woman. He used to think he wanted a woman who was a pure submissive to the point that he would pick out her wardrobe. Now he is not so sure because he has an animatistic attraction to Bridget Slaten and wants her more than he has ever wanted a woman. He knows that Bridget would never play the complete submissive. She would run that bratty mouth and make him crazy. The thought of another man with his hands on her makes his blood boil. I love the chemistry between these two and how much Bridget tries to deny herself what Will can give her. I appreciate the fact that she does not do short-term relationships and does not want to get hurt because Will is every woman’s dream and she knows she will fall fast and hard for her. She takes a chance and puts on her big girl panties and is determined to show Will what it means to be loved.

Lexi does an excellent job with character development and throws in several plot twists that will actually have you laughing your butt off. I was on a plane back from Hawaii laughing out loud as a special video was shown at Bridget’s sister’s wedding. I got a few looks from the passengers on the plane to say the least. I am fighting myself right now as to whether Will or Ian is my favorite Dom from this series. I just can’t get enough of this series. Thank you Lexi Blake for your complex characters and a story that flows like honey. I know once I pick up one of you books that I will not be able to put it down until its done. Cherished had me laughing one minute and crying the next. I loved this story and I know that any reader that enjoys BDSM will really come to love this series. Bravo Lexi once again!!!

The low groan on the first floor roused Corrado from sleep. His eyes snapped open, suddenly alert, as the relentless noise seemed to echo through the house. A window. He often slept with them open a crack to let the air circulate, but someone shoved one open the whole way.

His heart thumped wildly in his chest as he reached onto his bedside stand and grabbed his gun. He habitually checked it, ensuring it was still loaded, and jumped out of bed. There was no time to waste getting dressed; he crept down the hallway in his plaid boxers, his bare feet lightly touching the floor, making not a sound.

The second he made it downstairs, a breeze struck him from the living room. A few steps later he appeared in the doorway, pointing his gun at the form halfway through the window. He flipped off the safety as his finger lightly touched the trigger. Two seconds. Two seconds were all it would take to blow them away.

A pair of wide brown eyes instantly met Corrado’s. “Whoa, there, big guy.”

Just as fast as he’d aimed, prepared to kill whoever was breaking into his house, he lowered the gun. “Dammit, Celia!”

“Nice to see you, too.” She swung both legs inside but remained perched on the windowsill. “You weren’t really going to shoot me, were you?”

“Yes,” he said, no hesitation. “I was.”

“Well, I’m lucky you didn’t.”

“Lucky?” Corrado stared at her with disbelief. “I would’ve shot you, Celia. Two more seconds and I would’ve killed you. And then your father… your father would’ve killed me.”

“Yeah, he probably would’ve.”

“There’s no probably about it. He would’ve mutilated me. You… you wouldn’t have felt a thing. But me…” He shuddered just thinking about it. “What are you doing here? Are you in some kind of trouble?”

“I wanted to talk to you.”

Corrado gaped at her. “You broke into my house to talk?”

“Well, I would’ve called, but I don’t have your number.” Celia stood and strolled around the darkened living room, glancing at his belongings. “Besides, something tells me you’re not the talking-on-the-phone type.”

Raising my eyes to him, I checked to see if he was noticing what was happening, only to find his eyes blazing back into mine. The look he gave me was pure combustible heat, and it left me with absolutely no doubt that he felt whatever was happening too.

He shook his head as though he was trying to clear it, and returned to massaging as I closed my eyes and tried to process what the hell was happening—and my reaction to it. When he rubbed the arch of my foot again, I couldn’t help it, and I moaned. My eyes snapped open, and I prayed that maybe he hadn’t heard me.

His hand slid from the arch of my foot up to my left ankle as his other hand gripped my right ankle. Using my ankles as leverage, he jerked me toward him. I wasn’t dumb and I knew what that meant. Clearly, he had heard me. I was trying to process all of that as he bent forward and kissed first one knee, then the other.

I took a shocked breath and my jaw dropped as I stared at the top of his head. Raising his eyes to mine, Dante asked, “Rina. I want this. Do you?”

The line was shockingly easy to cross.

Looking him straight in the eye I answered honestly and without hesitation. “Yes. God, yes.”

He looked gorgeous, as always, and I struggled to remember to breathe for a minute. He works out like a mad man, and his body is to die for. After giving me a kiss and a hug, Spence escorted me into his living room. Taking a spot on his couch, I smiled when he took the seat at the other end.

“What’s up angel? What do you need?”

I’d already decided not to beat around the bush, so I dove right in. “Don’t flip out. I’m here because I need to kiss you again, and I want you to give me my first orgasm. It’s time.”

I paused when he gasped, and I could see that he was going to argue with me. “Shush Spence. Listen to me before you say no.”

He nodded tersely, so at least I knew he was listening.

“I’m a virgin, and we both know I’m saving it for you.”

The look on his face was a mixture of shock, discomfort and arousal. “Jesus, Delilah, shoot straight much? That’s… I mean… I don’t know what the fuck to even say.”

“You can cut the crap and admit that you’ve known all along that I was waiting for you. I don’t mind waiting, not that I’m going to sit on my ass forever, but before I start taking care of my needs myself, I want you to get me there. I want all my firsts to happen with you.”

“Oh, fuck. I don’t even…”

Holding up my hand, I told him to hush. “You can run from everyone else Spencer Cross, but you’ll never be able to run from me. I know you want this and you’ve wanted it for a long time. You’ve been waiting for me to come to you again. Well, here I am. Someday, you’ll have all of me. Until you’re ready to take that step, I’m asking you to give me this.”

I saw the exact moment that he accepted what I’d said as being true, and I knew he was going to do it. His eyes were like a firestorm when he looked at me. “If this is what you really want angel, then yes. You’re right. I want to give it to you. Tell me how you want me to do this.”

Standing, I took his hand in mine as I started walking toward his bedroom. I walked fast, letting go of his hands when we got in so that I could throw myself on his bed. After enjoying a little bounce, I propped myself on my elbow and stared at him as he stood over the bed.

“You can start by kissing me. How it goes from there is up to you.”

Missing Hart excerpt

Turning on my heel I ran for the door, desperate to be away from him. I swung it open at the same moment he reached a hand out and slammed it. Pivoting, I glared up at him. “What the hell are you doing? You can’t let go of the past and I’m done being your fucking punching bag. What do you want?”

Pushing me roughly against the door he wrapped his fingers in my hair and pulled me against him.

“You! Goddammit, I fucking want you.”

We met each other halfway, mouths smashing against each other in a kiss so intense that it was painful. My body went up in flames, the blood in my veins flowing hot for him. Our hands collided as we started ripping at each other’s clothes. He bunched my skirt up to my waist and tore my panties off as I struggled to get his jeans open. Finally I succeeded, reaching in and pulling his massively swollen erection out of his jeans and positioning it right at my center, marveling out how wet I was as I drenched his swollen head with my arousal.

With one hard thrust, he was in so deep that it hurt. After not being penetrated for four years, he filled me to capacity and then some. I screamed out in ecstasy and clawed at his shirt as his hips pumped into me at warp speed. My back was banging against the door with every punishing thrust and I didn’t care. I felt him in every part of my body as he pounded in and out, our mouths smashed together as we kissed like two maniacs. We were a mess of teeth and tongue, the pain turning immediately into pleasure.

Here With Me by Heidi McLaughlin is the first book in her new series. This series is called The Archer Brothers. Being a huge Heidi McLaughlin fan, I had to one click this book the moment it went live. I devoured the book and am experiencing the ultimate reading hangover.

Wow! Here With Me by Heidi McLaughlin is her best book yet. The writing was superb! Heidi reached deep within the realm of emotions and executed them flawlessly throughout the book. The reader instantly becomes invested in the characters and feels every emotion they are experiencing. The characters are larger than life and jump off the pages. The secondary characters are an all-star supporting cast that completely makes this story surreal. The plot has been intricately woven into a book that reaches far beyond a second chance romance. Heidi adds suspense, drama, and an impossible love triangle. She adds the important elements that make these characters lives become even more real. Their families, their friends, and their support networks validate their lives. What holds all these characters together and makes them work harder to accept the unacceptable is a young boy. The five year old son that loves unconditionally. The book is written from duel POV ‘s. It flashes from past to present. The reader gets a strong sense of what brought this young couple together. They share their young love, their passion for one another, and their growth as a couple. We see them grow from teenagers to mature adults. We see their strengths and weaknesses. The one thing the reader can count on is their love for another. It is unquestionable. Their love is not the problem, it is their lives in the present, and their futures. There are difficult choices to make. Not only will these choices determine the future, they will destroy the fragile lives they have built. There is no winner. Each person will walk away hurt in some way.

Evan Archer was a Navy Seal. His last assignment should have been easy. An in and out. That mission stretched into six long years. When his team is finally able to come home they are in for a complete surprise. There are no welcoming committees, no military personal, and no transports home. Why? Because they are dead! They have been dead and buried for over five years. The lives they once had are gone. Their loved ones have moved on in life. Imagine the shock.

The only thing Evan wants is to return home to the love of his life and meet his son face to face. Riley Clarke has held his heart since he was a teenager. Imagine his shock when he finally meets up with Riley and she is not happy to see him. Imagine finding out that she is now engaged to another man. Imagine finding out that man is your twin brother. Riley Clarke lost the love of her life when Evan was killed in action. She has spent the last six years moving on from that devastating loss. She had to give birth to her son alone. She has watched him grow alone. The only thing that held her together was the support of her family and Evan’s twin brother Nate. The two of them have mourned together, supported each other, and built a strong friendship that led to a loving relationship. When the man that owned her heart rises up from the grave she is once again devastated. She is angry with the world. She feels powerless and out of control. How can she choose between the man that owned her heart and the man that brought her heart back to life. Any choice she makes will destroy one of these men. Any choice she makes is going to forever break their brotherly bonds. It is going to destroy them all.

On top of all the emotional turmoil are the underlying facts about the mission. Clearly something went wrong. As the story unfolds it will raise many more questions.

I loved all the characters in this book. I am definitely rooting for Evan. I loved how he not only loved Riley as a teenager and grown woman, but how he respected her feelings and emotions at all times. He is truly a very good man. The readers did not get know much about Nate in the present times. We got to know him through memories and passages of the present. I think we will get to know his character in the next book. I think he is going to be more complex than we are anticipating.

This book ended on an emotional cliffhanger. It left the readers with so many questions. It also left the readers wanting to know Nate’s POV. I cannot wait for the next book, Choose Me by Heidi McLaughlin. I need it now!
