Excerpt

Rachel yawned, dragging her feet across the beige carpet. “I need to ask you a question.”

I wasn’t sure if I had heard her right. My mind was somewhere else. Ignoring her, I took her to our bathroom and turned on the shower.

“Jax, what are you doing? I told you—”

The water running muted the rest of her words. With my eyes locked on hers, I said, “I think someone needs a shower.”

“Huh?” Her sleepy eyes popped open. Leaning against the cabinet, she had nowhere to go.

I took three long strides to her before she could blink and I sealed my lips to hers. Rachel sucked in air and I heard a defeated whimper. She seemed to love this sudden show of lust pouring out of me. Grabbing her ass, I slowed down the pace and tenderly trailed my kisses down her neck to her shoulder. As I continued to kiss her, I slowly peeled the layers of her clothes as she did the same with mine.

I led her to the shower and embraced her in my arms. The warm water pouring between us was hot and arousing. My body was already on fire, but touching her flesh and hearing Rachel moan drove me wild. Slow down, I told myself. She was going to leave me for four days soon, and even though four days wasn’t that long, I wanted to savor this moment with her.

A Family Affair: Truth in Lies Book 1

When Christine Blacksworth’s larger-than-life father is killed on an icy road in Magdalena, New York, a hundred miles from the ‘getaway’ cabin he visited every month, she discovers a secret that threatens everything she’s always held to be true. Her father has another family which includes a mistress and a daughter. Determined to uncover the truth behind her father’s secret life, Christine heads to Magdalena, prepared to hate the people who have caused her to question everything she thought she knew about her father. But what she finds is a woman who understands her, a half sister who cherishes her, and a man who could love her if she’ll let him. The longer she’s around them, the more she questions which family is the real one.

A Family Affair: Spring Book 2

A Family Affair: Spring is a story of betrayal, forgiveness, and redemption, all wrapped up in the lives of the people we love to love, and even a few we love to hate.

Harry Blacksworth is rich, handsome, the ultimate playboy with a killer smile and a clever wit. He’s fought it, denied it, ignored it, but the damn truth won’t go away: he’s fallen in love. And just when he’s accepted that fact, Greta Severenson, the only woman he’s ever trusted, breaks his heart.

Christine Blacksworth and Nate Desantro beat the odds when they fell in love and married. But staying married is threatened when the foundation behind every good relationship—trust—is challenged.

Gloria Blacksworth descends upon Magdalena in all of her designer-clad arrogance, determined to make Christine change her course and return to Chicago and her old life. It may take two trips to that godforsaken town or ten, but Gloria doesn’t plan to fail. When she finally confronts Miriam Desantro, the “other woman”, Gloria discovers more than she ever wanted to know… or admit.

Angelo ‘Pop’ Benito is the Godfather of Magdalena. Nothing happens in that town without his knowledge or approval. And Pop doesn’t do anything without a long sit down with his dead wife, Lucy, and a half dozen pizzelles by his side. He’ll need a lot of lung power and a tray of his favorite treat to help Nate and Christine out of a real mess. And he may need the help of his checkers buddy and Magdalena’s shining star, Lily Desantro.

A Family Affair: Summer Book 3

Heartache. Betrayal. Forgiveness. Redemption…
It’s time to head back to Magdalena, New York and spend a little time with the people we love to love and even a few we love to hate.

Eight years ago, tragedy struck the town’s perfect couple, Daniel “Cash” Casherdon and Tess Carrick, days before their wedding. That tragedy shred their dreams of a life together and sent them fleeing Magdalena. Now, destiny has brought them back and the town is determined to see this couple mend their differences.

Angelo “Pop” Benito will lead the crusade to march Cash and Tess down the aisle with the help of The Bleeding Hearts Society, a garden group more interested in healing people’s hearts than helping a sick basil plant. But they’re not the only ones cheering for this couple’s second chance.

Who would have thought Nate Desantro would be giving advice on relationships, love, and marriage? But when a man finds the right woman, anything is possible. Add a baby to the mix; well that’s pure “hero” material. Christine will offer her share of support and wisdom to Tess and stand up to an old troublemaker in the name of family and friendship.

From the fifty-something widow who is afraid to open her heart again to the pregnant friend who believes everyone has a soul mate, to Lily Desantro, the shining light who makes others believe anything is possible, Magdalena’s finest will rally to give Tess and Cash that second chance. But all the prayers and contrivances in the world won’t help until Tess reveals the secret she’s carried for too many years, a secret that could destroy her chance with Cash forever…

And if you’re wondering about Harry Blacksworth and his brood, you’ll glimpse a snippet of what he’s up to, but he’ll be back in full force in A Family Affair: Fall. Not only that—he’s moving to Magdalena with Greta and the kids! Can you imagine Harry maneuvering a lawnmower or carrying out the trash? Oh, but his past is going to catch up with him and then…Sorry, Harry has to wait for A Family Affair: Fall to share his misery and his story.

For now, enjoy the journey as you catch up on the lives of the residents of Magdalena. They’re waiting for you!

A-Family-Affair-Fall-1600-199x300

A Family Affair: Fall Book 4

Gina Servetti was raised to believe she wasn’t enough—not thin enough, not pretty enough, not clever enough. She’s more comfortable with a spreadsheet than a conversation and doesn’t trust easily, especially where men are concerned, most notably the good-looking, smooth-talking ones like Ben Reed.

When city boy Ben Reed arrives in Magdalena, he’s not planning a long-term stay in a town filled with too many busybodies and too little excitement. He just needs things to settle down in Philly for a few months before he returns to his old life and his plan to win back his ex-wife. But once he gets to know the people in this town, he starts to care about them; one in particular—Gina Servetti. The longer he’s around her, the more he realizes she’s so much more than a woman with a scowl and a sharp tongue. She’s real and honest, and as afraid of trusting as he is.

But can Ben and Gina open up and take a risk for a chance at real love? Well, if the rest of the town has anything to say about it, and they always do, this couple will take the big leap and end with an “I do”!

And would the story be complete without checking in on Harry Blacksworth’s latest debacle…ahem…adventure? Harry’s moved his brood to Magdalena and is taking advice but thankfully not fashion lessons from Pop Benito. That spells trouble on so many levels. Oh, but it’s going to be interesting…

Join me as we peek into the lives of some of our favorites: Pop Benito, Lily, Nate and Christine Desantro, Harry and Greta Blacksworth, Mimi Pendergrass, Bree Kinkaid…and many more.

Will the town give up the Godfather of Magdalena, or will they show Pop’s son that when we open our hearts, anything is possible…even second chances?

NEW FEATURE: Magdalena’s growing! People are getting married, having babies, and moving back to town, so I’ve decided to include a list of characters and their backgrounds–some new faces, some from previous books. A Family Affair: Winter Book 6

They should have been married and working on their “happily ever after” but fate intervened and stole their chance. Can the residents of Magdalena help them get it back?

On the day Michael Androvich stands at the altar before family, friends, and most of the town of Restalline, Pennsylvania, he’s prepared to pledge his life, love, and fidelity to the woman who owns his heart. There’s only one thing missing—the bride.
Elise Pentani loves Michael Androvich truly and completely, but there’s a tiny piece of her that believes he’ll fall back into his “bad boy” ways. When a threat from his past visits her the night before she and Michael are to be married, Elise lets doubt rule and skips her own wedding.
Nursing a broken heart and determined to forget the woman he can’t forget, Michael heads to Magdalena, New York to secure a business deal for his family’s lumber company. He’s not prepared for the endless questions and inquisitive nature of the residents who remind him an awful lot of his hometown.
Just when Michael has gotten the town to accept the fact that he’s not talking about his past or the reason for his surly disposition, his ex-fiancée shows up with an apology he doesn’t want to hear and certainly doesn’t want to believe. So much for the town leaving him alone; everybody has an opinion and they’re all more than anxious to share it.
There’s no way the residents of Magdalena can ignore these two broken-hearted souls. Michael and Elise have “need help” and “belong together” stamped all over their sad faces. Add that to Pop Benito’s determined matchmaking skills and Lily Desantro’s clever curiosity, and this couple might just get that second chance…

Note: Michael Androvich and Elise Pentani are secondary characters in Simple Riches, Book Three of That Second Chance Series. The books in this series are standalone works that are tied together by the belief in the beauty of that second chance. Michael and Elise won’t be the only ones visiting A Family Affair’s Magdalena from That Second Chance Series.

Here are a few more, though not necessarily in the order listed:

A-Family-Affair-The-Promise-Amz-200x300

A Family Affair: The Promise Book 7

A lot has happened since readers left town in A Family Affair: Winter!

Bree Kinkaid is dealing with heartache and betrayal the only way she can—denial. Her friends can’t help her, she won’t listen to her parents, and she rejects offerings of support and sympathy from the town as she attempts to hold onto that magical life she wanted. But when a stranger shows up at Bree’s doorstep with information about her husband, she can’t pretend any longer.

And in case you were wondering what happened to Gloria Blacksworth’s notebook, it’s still resting in Nate Desantro’s desk drawer…but not for long. Gloria might be dead, but the notebook continues to leak distrust and ill will into the community, and someone’s got to stop it! There might be only one person in town equipped for the job—any guesses?

We’ve also got a new man in Magdalena, one badly in need of a second chance…

Grant Richot sprinted through life, a boy wonder with talent, intelligence, confidence, and charm. He never doubted the world awaited him, just as he never doubted the right woman would come into his life—but only when he was ready for her. Anyone before that was simply preparation for the one.

How wrong he was.

Years and a tragedy later, Grant arrives in Maggie Finnegan’s hometown of Magdalena, New York—broken, uncertain, and searching for that second chance with the woman he cast aside. But Maggie’s no longer naïve and impressionable; she’s a confident, competent widow with a child, who has more at risk than another broken heart…

Note: For a richer “A Family Affair” reading experience, make sure to read Pulling Home, Book One of That Second Chance series. It is the prequel to A Family Affair: The Promise, where you’ll learn Grant Richot’s story. Big, dark secrets about his family are revealed in this book, but that doesn’t mean he knows about them…but it also doesn’t mean the reader can’t know, right?!

A Family Affair: The Secret Book 8 (coming 1/5/2016)

Roman Ventori isn’t looking for a wife. He’s had one of those and it ended badly. He’s come back to Magdalena out of duty, not love for the town that drove him away with rumors and judgments.

Angie Sorrento is in Magdalena to do a job, not find a husband. She almost had one of those, until he dumped her days before the wedding.

Roman’s father has health problems and his last wish is to see his son settled with a wife, a child, a second chance at a life that doesn’t include city life and flashy women. There’s only one person in town who can make the impossible happen. Angelo “Pop” Benito, the Godfather of Magdalena, is the wiliest matchmaker in the Catskills and if he sets his mind to it, an old man might see his wish come true.

Oh, and remember Gloria Blacksworth’s notebook, the one filled with enough destruction to bring down Magdalena? Well, it’s causing trouble again, and this time the target is Miriam Desantro… Pop’s going to try to intervene, but he might be too late…

Excerpt

If Salvatore Ventori hadn’t been recovering from a heart attack, Angie would have shut down the man’s idea that his son would be the perfect choice to escort her through the Sal’s Market after hours. Roman Ventori belonged in Chicago, or staring back at her from the insides of a magazine cover, not standing outside his father’s grocery store, arms crossed over his broad chest, waiting. And not too happy about the waiting either. The pacing gave it away, back and forth like a trapped lion. He didn’t see her coming from the side parking lot as he began another round of pacing.

Angie made her way toward him, sucked in a deep breath and willed her voice to remain even. “Roman Ventori?” The man turned and stared, six-foot plus of muscle and annoyance zeroing in on her with eyes darker than ink. Those eyes widened when he recognized her, the mouth flattened, the brackets on either side, a deep slash.

“You.” He ran a hand through his hair, blew out a sigh. “I should have known.”

She matched his sigh, tilted her head to look up at him. Damn, but he was a tall one. “Should have known what?”

“That my old man would pull this. How much did he pay you?”

“What are you talking about?” The tabloids should get this charmer on tape. It would mark the end of Mr. Beautiful’s lovely persona. Angie guessed the man hadn’t wanted to come tonight. Too bad. She needed photos so she could do her job, and if the only way to get them was after closing time in the company of Sal’s son, then that’s what she’d do. “Why would your dad pay me?” she asked, determined to get an answer. But the man said nothing, merely unlocked the door and flicked on the lights, leaving Angie to follow, camera slung over her shoulder.

When they reached the customer service area, Roman Ventori turned to her, his massiveness dwarfing her breathing space and said, “My father paid you to get in my line of vision, didn’t he?”

“Line of vision?” Angie scrunched up her nose. “For what?”

He scowled, narrowed his gaze on her. “You know damn well for what. He had a heart attack and now he’s gotten it into his head that he wants to see me settled before he dies.”

“Settled.” Settled? As in married, with a family? No. No.

“Yeah, that’s what he said, and then he started dropping hints about this nice little Italian girl he’d met who’d come to town to make a miniature rendition of his store, said I should escort you around and see what I could see. Whatever that means.” He flipped on more lights, let out another sigh that sounded like pure disgust and continued, “Ignore whatever he told you. I am not looking for a girlfriend and I’m sure as hell not looking for a wife.”

“What?” Had he just said wife? Angie moved toward him, hands on hips, scowl on her face to show her equal disgust and said, “Mister, I am not looking for a boyfriend or a husband. I don’t even want a dog. You got that?” The nerve of some people. “I’ve come to this town to do a job, so I can get paid, period. Whatever issues you and your father have, are not my issues and you better damn well not make them mine. You got that?”

Those eyes narrowed, the jaw twitched, and damn if the mouth didn’t flip into a smile seconds before he said, “Got it.”

Angie crossed her arms over her chest, tipped her chin up to see his face and held her ground. “Do not confuse me with a groupie gold digger again.”

The smile spread. “Groupie gold digger?”

“Right.” She hid a smile. Now was not the time to let him see he could barrel through her anger and make her smile.

“I’ll keep that in mind.” He thrust out his hand. “Roman Ventori, collector of groupie gold diggers.”

Synopsis

Vada Bergen is broke, the black sheep of her family, and moving a thousand miles away from home for grad school, but she’s got the two things she loves most: her art, and her best friend and soulmate, Ellis Carraway. Elle and Vada have a friendship so consuming it’s hard to tell where one girl ends and the other begins. It’s intense. It’s a little codependent. And nothing can tear them apart.

Until an accident on an icy winter road changes everything.

Vada is left deeply scarred, both emotionally and physically. Her once-promising art career is cut short. And Ellis pulls away, unwilling to talk about that night. Everything Vada loved is gone.

She’s got nothing left to lose.

So when she meets a smooth-talking lothario who offers to set her up as a cam girl, she can’t say no. All Vada has to do is spend a couple hours each night taking off her clothes on webcam, and the “tips” come pouring in.

It’s all just kinky fun till a client gets serious. “Blue” is mysterious, alluring, and more interested in Vada’s life than her body. Online, they open up to each other intimately. Blue helps her heal. And he pays well, but he wants her all to himself. No more cam shows. She agrees, because she’s starting to fall for him. And when he asks to meet, she says yes. Because she’s dying to know the real man behind the keyboard.

Even if one of his conditions is to bring Ellis. The girl who wants nothing to do with her anymore.

Now Vada must confront the past she’s been running from. A past full of devastating secrets—those of others, and those she’s been keeping from herself.

Robin’s Review

Cam Girl is the third contemporary new adult novel written by author Leah Raeder. Cam Girl is a standalone novel about two women, best friends, lovers who struggle to continue with their relationship in the wake of a tragic, deadly car wreck. Physical and emotional pain as a result of the accident are obvious, but there are deeper issues at play between Vada and Elle. Cam Girl focuses on the very real struggle individuals can face concerning gender identity. It’s something that can affect both persons in a relationship. Of course, Cam Girl is about so much more, so please be sure to read the book synopsis.

Most people don’t take the time to consider what gender identity is, but it’s an important topic which I feel needs to be brought to the attention of society. I have nothing but respect for Leah Raeder for tackling this topic in her writing. Gender identity is not always black and white. There are gray areas. It’s not easy for individuals who are bisexual, who don’t identify as either gay or straight. Imagine how difficult it can be for a woman who has always identified as a man on the inside, while her physical body indicates that she’s a woman. Many folks are afraid of being labeled outside of the norm. Many individuals self-harm, even commit suicide, as a result of the emotional pain and extreme depression which they experience. Please consider showing kindness and compassion to people who are different – male, female, heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender – even if you don’t agree with their individual preferences.

There are many aspects of Cam Girl that I enjoyed. Leah Raeder has her own unique writing style, and there are passages in Cam Girl where Raeder absolutely shines. Her artistic description of a car wreck in the prologue took my breath. I actually took a few minutes to fully appreciate the prologue after I finished reading it. Raeder also includes brilliant colors in her descriptions – a unique quality to her writing which I truly enjoy. She is excellent at writing a mystery, weaving clues and hints of what’s to come into her storyline. Cam Girl felt like a puzzle to me, and this is how Raeder won my attention. Leah Raeder has the uncanny ability of perking my curiosity, making me crave answers, causing me to continue turning the pages, even when I find I’m not connecting with the main characters or enjoying their relationship.

That was my problem with Cam Girl. It’s not because Cam Girl is about a female/female relationship. I just didn’t connect with Vada and Elle in Cam Girl. Vada and Elle are codependent. They have a very toxic relationship – one based on lies and deception. This is not a healthy relationship for two people who are supposed to be in love with each other. There are moments between Vada and Elle that are incredibly sweet, but even with the lure of mystery, Cam Girl was difficult for me to finish. I’m giving Cam Girl a 3-star rating – the positive and negative aspects each balancing the other out to rate this novel mid-grade. I’m not sure if the darkness in Raeder’s writing is a trend that will continue, but I hope she might consider writing novels with a brighter mood in the future. I truly enjoy her talent for writing a mystery and her artistic style.

There was a time when I had everythingña wonderful family, a bright future. Love. But all that was taken away in a single night, torn from me like flesh from bone. Since then, Iíve hidden away in my second-choice job as a makeup artist. But I prefer it that way, actually. Iím comfortable in the shadows, where no one can see my scars.

Kiefer Rogan literally took my breath away the moment I met him. MMA champion-turned-actor, notorious playboy, charming to a faultóheís everything I vowed to avoid.

But he just wouldnít stop until I opened up and let him in. Maybe I shouldíve tried harder to resist him. Maybe I shouldnít have fallen in love with him. I just never guessed that they could be deadly, too.

Tracey’s Review

My gut told me he would be trouble. I just never expected him to be this kind of trouble.

Katie Rydale likes her life the way that it is. Having survived a horrific past, she’s content to live a simple life under the radar. But then along comes Kiefer Rogan. MMA champion, actor, member of an elite Special Ops unit. He is nothing if not larger than life. And once he rolls into Enchantment, GA, life as Katie knows it will never be the same.

Okay, so firstly, Michelle Leighton cannot write a book that I will not absolutely love. I mean, it just is not possible. Lighthearted or darker and filled with intrigue, it’s going to find a place on my list of favorite reads.

I read (and loved, of course!) STRONG ENOUGH, the first book in Michelle’s Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series. But, where Jasper is dark and mysterious, intense and, okay, somewhat scary, Rogan is another story altogether. While not a completely open book, Rogan is completely transparent about what he wants. And that is, surprise, Katie.

“But why? Why me?…Look at me! I’m scarred. Ugly. Men like you don’t do ugly.”
“This doesn’t make you less,” I tell her softly. “It makes you more. More beautiful, more desirable. It makes you a survivor. A winner. Someone worth having.” I drop my voice into a whisper. “Someone worth loving.”

Rogan definitely tops my list of favorite book boyfriends. This man, choosing to live a life of empowerment rather than succumbing to past darknesses that would keep others down, is so full of life, so passionate, so determined, that it is impossible not to love him. And his utter devotion to Katie, his commitment to a brother that gives nothing but contempt in return, his loyalty to his brothers in arms. Oh, my goodness, this man.

I love the plot that Michelle has woven between the books in this series. And, while some questions first introduced in STRONG ENOUGH have been answered in this second book, I am confident that more will be revealed in BRAVE ENOUGH, the third book. And, no small thing, Tag Barton, the third member of this special group of men, will be front and center.

So, if you haven’t yet read STRONG ENOUGH, do it. These books can be read as standalones, but I do recommend that you read them in order to get a good handle on the action as it unfolds. And, then, get ready, because Rogan will rock your world. 5+ uplifting, sexy, romantic stars for TOUGH ENOUGH. This is one that you will not want to miss.

Synopsis

The New York Times bestselling author of Reaper’s Stand is back in her “uber-alpha rough world of MCs”* as one woman’s future is rocked by the man whose hardcore past could destroy her…

He never meant to hurt her.

Levi “Painter” Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty—a loyalty that’s tested when he’s caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.

Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. It all started out so innocently—just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.

Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie’s about to learn that there’s no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.

Excerpt

“You’re not going back to the party.”

She cocked her head, and I saw the confusion in her alcohol- glazed eyes as she wrinkled her nose at me. All cute, like a rabbit.

“You look like a bunny.”

“You look like an ax murder,” she said, frowning. “And I thought London was looking for me. Aren’t we going the wrong way?”

“I lied. I do that a lot,” I told her, staring at her lips. I reached out, catching her chin in my hand, running my thumb across her lips. Our eyes locked, and I don’t know if her pulse started to rise but mine sure as fuck did. What the hell had I been thinking, writing to this girl? She was so pretty and perfect and had this amazing, magical life just waiting for her and all I could think about was dragging her down into the dirt and shoving my cock into every hole she had.

She’d scream while I did it, too, the same sweet screams that played in my head every night while I jacked off.

I hated myself.

“Why did you lie?” she asked, her voice a whisper.

“To get you away from Taz. It’s not safe with him.”

Mel’s forehead creased in confusion, her brain moving so slowly I could practically see the wheels turning behind her eyes. She might be smart as fuck most of the time, but she’d transitioned to drunker than fuck tonight. Kit. Kit and Em. They’d done this to her.

I leaned in closer, catching her scent. For an instant I swayed, so tempted . . .

“They told me all about you,” she whispered.

“Who?”

“The other girls. Kit, Em. Jessica. I know how you operate,” she continued. One of her hands rose, touching my chest. Fire burst through me, because if I’d wanted her before I was desperate for her now. She was so soft, so sweet . . . so perfect.

Then her words sank in.

“What did you just say?”

“They told me all about you,” she said, eyes dropping to stare at my lips. “They told me you have a Madonna-whore complex.” I froze.

“A what?”

“A Madonna-whore complex,” she repeated, her voice earnest. “You like to screw dirty girls and you put clean girls on pedestals, where they can stay perfect and pure. That’s pretty messed up, Painter. There’s no such thing as Madonnas and whores. We’re all just people.”

The words stunned me. What the hell was she talking about? Just because I didn’t want her dragged down in the drama and bullshit of this life didn’t mean I had some sort of fucking complex. And who the hell were the Hayes sisters to have an opinion? I couldn’t tell what pissed me off more—the fact that they’d talked to Mel about me or that they hadn’t done a better job of scaring her off.

She wasn’t supposed to be here.

“Kit and Em are crazy, and that friend of yours—Jessica? She’s like a car crash. You don’t belong here, Mel.”

“And where do I belong?”

“With some nice kid who’ll treat you like a queen and work his ass off to give you everything perfect for the rest of your life.” The words were practically a growl.

Her eyes widened.

“What if I don’t want perfect?”

“Too fucking bad, because that’s what you’re getting.”

A faceless name. That’s all she was when I agreed to play a part in deceiving her. But then the unplanned happened.

We met. And all I wanted from her was a dirty weekend . . . until that wasn’t enough and I longed for so much more.

Lawrence Thorn suddenly means the world to me. And that’s a problem. She’s my business partner’s sister. Forbidden fruit. Pursuing her can mean trouble for me at Lovibond Brewery. But I don’t care.

I yearn for her skin against mine.

I crave her smell on my body.

I want to make her laugh and then hear her moan my name.

And she does for a brief moment in time.

But Lawrence wants more than I’m able to give. And it’s a damn shame because there’s no one on earth I want more than her.

An epic love.

A miserable ending.

Unless it’s not.

Welcome to Storm, Texas, where passion runs hot, desire runs deep, and secrets have the power to destroy…

Nestled among rolling hills and painted with vibrant wildflowers, the bucolic town of Storm, Texas, seems like nothing short of perfection.

But there are secrets beneath the facade. Dark secrets. Powerful secrets. The kind that can destroy lives and tear families apart. The kind that can cut through a town like a tempest, leaving jealousy and destruction in its wake, along with shattered hopes and broken dreams. Cover Reveal: Getting Lucky by Mia Storm

“Getting Lucky”
a song by Tro Gunnison
Wouldn’t care if I could. I’m up to no good.
Taking what I want instead of what I should.
I’m made of pure greed. There’s shit that I need.
The mask is off and the demon’s freed.
I’m gonna get drunk.
I’m gonna get played.
I’m gonna get rich.
I’m gonna get laid.
And I’m gonna get Lucky.

Raised in the system, Shiloh Luck’s first sixteen years have
been anything but lucky. After winning The Voice, she’s finally living the
dream—a record contract, talk shows, a North American tour opening for the
hottest band out there. Everything is going according to plan…until their
frontman, Tro Gunnison, explodes her life into chaos. He’s shallow,
self-centered, and completely infuriating, and he’ll do anything for notoriety.
Including her. Like it or not, she’s stuck with him for three months on the
road, but the longer they spend together, the more she begins to realize
there’s more to Tro than anyone has ever dug deep enough to find. If his
attention is anything other than just another publicity gimmick, she might let
herself see where it leads. But before she can risk everything, she has to be
sure.

If there’s one thing that Tro Gunnison has learned in the
six years since he left his past in the dust, it’s that living life big, bold,
and totally outrageous keeps people from seeing past the glare. He’s buried his
demons beneath six feet of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and he’s convinced no
one will ever dig them up…until Lucky. She’s young, but not naive, and without
even trying, she sees past the facade to the man underneath…which scares the
hell out of him. Because what started out as smoke and mirrors has somehow
turned real, and for the first time in his life, there’s someone he cares about
more than himself. But it turns out getting Lucky could be a double-edged
sword.

He’s always been sure it would be his past that would bring him down, but it might turn out to be Jail Bait instead.

Robin’s Review

Wow, what a book!  I’m SERIOUSLY impressed with this new novel from Trudy Stiles! I’ve read each of her previously published novels. Dear Emily, Dear Tabitha, and Dear Juliet are each very good in their own right, but it’s obvious to me Stiles really dug deep when she was writing Epic Sins. Trudy Stiles writes heartfelt stories that will leave you warm on the inside, and Epic Sins did just that for me.

Even though the Epic Fail series is a spinoff of Stiles’ Forever Family series, it’s not necessary to have read Dear Emily, Dear Tabitha and Dear Juliet before you begin reading Epic Sins. For those of you who have read Dear Tabitha, however, you might remember Alex was in a rock band named Epic Fail. Each of the novels in the Epic Fail series will be standalones that focus on the bandmates of Epic Fail.

First up is the lead guitarist for the band, Garrett Armstrong. You could say Garrett takes full advantage of being in a rock band. Not one for wanting any type of commitment, Garrett philanders his way through the women at each new venue. But at the age of 26, Garrett’s life is about to be turned upside down by something he has never wanted.

Samantha Weston experienced tragedy and loss as a teenager, but with encouragement and support from family and friends, she has overcome the odds. She graduated from college with a nursing degree and is now working as a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) pediatric nurse at a hospital. Just when Sam is finally feeling comfortable and truly enjoying her career, she is faced with another tragic event. That’s when Sam learns she is needed for a very special situation.

Epic Sins isn’t just entertaining – it’s interesting. Trudy Stiles writes about NICU and sick babies with such knowledge that she has me wondering if she might also be a nurse. She writes with knowledge, but she also writes from deep, down in her heart. I enjoyed every moment of watching Sam and Garrett grow closer – from skeptical acquaintances to respectful friends to hesitant lovers. It was heartwarming for me to read Sam and Garrett’s story, as they helped each other face down and overcome the demons of their pasts.

Epic Sins was more intense than I expected. Stiles crafted this story so that information is revealed about the characters at the perfect moment. This allows for twists in the story – surprises that will catch readers off guard. My emotions were all over the place while I was reading Epic Sins. I felt anxiety on more than one occasion. Anger at the characters. Profound sadness for their loss. But THIS is a story that will fill your heart with joy. Trudy Stiles fully develops her characters, gives them hope, love and redemption. Epic Sins is one of the best stories that I have read this year, and I count it as one of my 2015 favorites! It truly has everything I look for in a new adult/contemporary romance, and I’m so excited to give Trudy Stiles a 6-star rating!

GGBBteaserweek2

Good Girl VS. Bad Boy

Jessie Evans

Releasing November 12, 2015

Synopsis:

Let the battle of the sexes begin… He’s hot, wild, unpredictable, untamable, and her best friend’s older brother.

Colton Brody is everything a good girl like Phoebe Page should avoid. But since her sister Kelly’s death, Phoebe isn’t as worried about being good as she used to be. She wants to live big with no regrets, the way Kelly did, and she intends to start with having a top secret, super steamy, no-strings-attached holiday fling with the man she’s crushed on her entire life.

What could go wrong?

Except everything?

Wounded in action and discharged without a chance to prove himself, all Colton cares about is getting back into the Marine Corps where he belongs. He will not get sucked into small town drama, will not take that promotion at the firehouse, and certainly won’t fall in love with his little sister’s best friend. He’s down for friends-with-benefits, nothing more, and plans to leave town long before quirky, bossy, cute-as-a-button Phoebe can get under his skin.

He’s in control.

At least until a certain sexy brunette turns his world upside down.

It isn’t long before Colton finds himself buying flowers, talking feelings, and wishing Phoebe wanted more than another night of hot, no-holds-barred sex. Because when he’s with Phoebe even hot and dirty feels like making love.

Now Colton will have to decide what’s worth fighting for–the dreams a plane crash stole from him or the dream he’s holding in his arms.

WARNING: Good Girl vs. Bad Boy contains a mix of heart-warming romance, quirky characters, laugh out loud moments, and blisteringly hot banging. If you don’t like hot sex, laughter, mentions of humping unicorns, turkey bowling, off-beat town rituals, or graphic descriptions of artisanal pancakes, steer clear.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jessie Evans, gave up a career as an international woman of mystery to write the sexy, contemporary Southern romances she loves to read.

She’s married to the man of her dreams, and together they’re raising a few adorable, mischievous children in a cottage in the jungle. She grew up in rural Arkansas, spending summers running wild, being chewed by chiggers, and now appreciates her home in a chigger-free part of the world even more.
