Liz’s 2014 Favorite’s | Saucy Southern Readers

My tastes in reading have evolved – again. Seems like I spent most of the year reading books about bikers and musicians.. with a few vampires thrown in for good measure! I’ve found a few books with older characters that I loved, I was ready for the more mature themes and problems and the interesting stories they can tell. When I relate to the characters, I enjoy the books so much more.

Also in 2014 I found myself longing for books that were written in third person.. found a few and they are included on these lists. I like getting the WHOLE picture of a story. First person has to be really well written to hold my interest; thankfully, there are lots of really good writers who focus on the emotions and soon you forget it’s written in first person and just go with the story. And that’s what reading’s all about.
