Well, with the exception of my tongue. The countless things I can do with my tongue are bound to leave you breathless and begging for more, but more… is something that I can’t give. It’s a choice. My choice.
There’s a reason for that. A very good reason, and that reason is her.
Riley.
She’s the only woman that I want to bury myself deep in. The one woman I have wanted since I was old enough to fuck.
I never got my chance though, because she left. She had no choice and it stung like hell. But I couldn’t let her leave without telling her how I felt. I wanted her to be my first and I didn’t give a shit how long I’d have to wait.
It’s been six years and now she’s back and sexier than all hell. Just the sight of her stops my damn heart from beating. I want her and for more than just having her as my first.
I’m determined to have her in every way possible. She thinks this is still a game; that I’ve already given myself to countless women. What she doesn’t know is that I have a lot of willpower.
When I want something as badly as I want her, I don’t let shit stand in my way. I’m going to prove that to her. There’s just one little problem I need to take care of…
After securing my apron filled with my lotions and oils, I turn to the table and my heart starts pounding like crazy in my chest as I see a body, barely covered by a small towel, just waiting to be touched by me. I swallow hard while letting my eyes roam over the stiff muscles of the tanned back on display. The top of the client’s ass peeks out of the towel, displaying the roundest, firmest ass I have ever seen before… and the dimples in his back are making it hard for me to gain some much-needed confidence.
Doing a silly little shake in an attempt to shake my nerves off, I squirt some oil in my hands and slowly run my hands up the bottom of his back, being sure to make it feel as insanely good as I possibly can.
The feel of his muscled back beneath my fingers and the deep, undeniably sexy moan that escapes his throat almost has me turned on as I start to go lower, until I’m right above his ass.
“Go lower,” the deep voice whispers. “Take the towel off.”
I almost deny his request, when I remember that Sensual Touches is clothing optional. That’s the one thing that almost kept me from applying, but comparing the pay that you get here versus the other options, I knew what my choice had to be.
“This is new to me,” I whisper, before speaking up. “Let me know if you get uncomfortable and I’ll replace it before you flip over on your back.”
“That won’t be an issue,” he says huskily.
Keeping my moan to myself, I lower my hands down to his ass, removing the towel little by little as I continue to get lower. As soon as my hands reach the bottom of his ass, I remove the towel completely and hold back the gasp that fights to escape me.
Holy hotness…
Remembering that this was per his request, and that it’s fully professional to be doing this here at Sensual Touches, I grip the back of his upper thighs and massage it while rubbing my thumbs over the bottom of his tight ass, enjoying every single moment of it.
In fact, I’m enjoying it so much that I almost feel guilty. Tyler and I have been broken up for less than a week, and here I am enjoying myself as I rub on another man’s ass, listening closely for each moan that he will grace my ears with.
After spending a good, long, fifteen minutes on his ass itself, I focus my attention on the rest of his muscular body, mentally preparing myself for the rest of his gloriousness that I’ll be seeing in the flesh as soon as I finish up on his backside.
Now I understand why that Hailey chick is going to be pissed off. Massaging this stud has to be the best part of her job here. How can you not enjoy this?
Pulling my hands away, I turn away to give him some privacy. “I’m ready for you to flip over, sir. Please let me know when you’re ready.”
“I’m always ready for you, Rile.”

Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of 11 children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She spent her young adult years moving as far away as she could from her large extended family. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York–then came full circle and moved back to Rhode Island. She now happily lives one town over from the one she was born in. For her, family trumped the warmer weather and international scene.
She was an educator for 20 years, the last 11 as a kindergarten teacher. When her school district began cutting jobs, Ruth turned a serious eye toward her second love- writing and has never been happier. When she’s not writing, you can find her chasing her children around her small farm, riding her horses, or connecting with her readers online.
Sometimes the past bleeds into the future.
Bess, a wild party girl running from herself, literally falls victim to her demons when she collapses in the most unexpected of places.
Lane, a tightly wound, up-and-coming CEO who can’t seem to stop enabling his brother, doesn’t know what hit him when Bess falls at his feet and into his life.
It was a night she doesn’t remember, and one he can’t forget.
But rather than stay and help the needy college coed, Lane decides to teach his brother a long overdue lesson––a decision that later comes back to haunt him and only adds fury to the transgressions of his past he is already fleeing from.
Years later, Bess and Lane meet again. She doesn’t know him, and he doesn’t share that he knows what happened on that ill-fated night when she almost died. After all, he has a web of complicated lies from his own youth to protect.
Both are seeking salvation in the arms of others and ignoring the truth—that the only road to redemption lies in confronting your past.
When the past and present collide, is there any chance at redemption?
“Redemption Lane is a complex story with even more complex characters, but then, that’s what I love about Rachel Blaufeld’s work. She makes you think and feel and as you read their stories, you can’t help but fall in love with these imperfect characters as they try to overcome their struggles.” ~ Bookaholics-Not-So-Anonymous
“Happy holidays, Bess,” he said as he moved closer and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.
When did this totally inappropriate flirting and touching start?
“Umm, Mr. Wrigley, I’m not sure I’m understanding you exactly. What are you really doing here? In Pennsylvania? Back at the WildFlower after your deal was closed? On Christmas by yourself? And who let you back here?” The pitch of my voice rose a little with each question until I was practically squeaking as I flailed a bit, waving my hand up and down the staff corridor.
But I wasn’t quite finished because then, boldly and out of left field, I asked, “Why me? Why are you back here talking to me?”
He leaned back on his heels, a tiny glint in his eye as he said, “Let’s see. I came back to Pennsylvania to see my brother for the holiday, except he had plans to go skiing up here. So, I came up with him and his lady friend. We had dinner last night, but today was their day on the slopes, which left me all alone.”
Licking his lips, he ran his hand through his dark hair and leaned close once more. “As for why I’m back here with you, I can’t really say. I only know I haven’t been able to get you out of my head since our unbelievably boring dinner in the tavern, or the coffee we shared in the back room the morning after.”
His expression softened. “There’s just something about you, Bess. You’re sweeter than the aroma of the blueberry muffin I devoured with you, prettier than the sun setting over the ocean back home, and tangier than the lemons you squeeze into your water. Something I can’t put my finger on pulls me in and makes me want to be close to you, probably the same thing that makes you want to run. Hell, it makes me want to flee so fucking fast, but I’m not. So, just don’t.”
He stopped talking and looked intently in my eyes. I stared back, studying the blue of his irises. They were so blue, but more a cornflower shade than ocean. There was something untouched and innocent about them, which was probably misguided to think on my part, considering that standing in front of me was an extremely successful, well-traveled, worldly, and probably well-fucked man.
My throat dry, I choked out, “I’m not sure what to say. Actually, I don’t think any of this is appropriate, and we should probably just part ways.” Completely unnerved, I pinned my lower lip between my teeth, and could almost taste a tinge of coppery blood as I bit down on it.
And then I got lost in his eyes, like blue skies floating above me. My mind drifted, barely registering the arms that reached out and framed me against the door. The sky came closer. It was so, so blue, not a cloud in it. And then he kissed me. Lane’s lips touched mine softly, and I braced myself against the wall. I was falling or floating, I didn’t know which.

Lea Lamb and Austin Wolf were young when they fell in love. They never imagined the future could hold anything other than together-forever.
When Lea’s father dies in a tragic fishing accident, she’s crushed under the weight of her grief and catches a glimpse of another type of future, one she knows she’s not strong enough to face.
Austin is angry. For the past fifteen years, he’s believed the woman he loved with every ounce of his soul left him without so much as a backwards glance.
When Lea unexpectedly returns to their hometown, all the years of heartache inside Austin bubbles to the surface and presents itself as blinding rage.
Faced with the truth about the past, a newly discovered secret, these former lovers will learn that if they want to have any chance at the future they’d given up on all those years ago, they will have to rescue one another from drowning in pain so debilitating it will leave them both fighting to breathe.
“CAN WE STOP by the liquor store on the way to dinner?” Mom asks from the passenger seat of my car.
“Should you be drinking?” I frown then turn onto the main road—well, really the only road in town.
“What’s it going to do, kill me?” she jokes, making me inhale a sharp breath. “Honey,” she says quietly, and I look at her briefly, wondering how the hell she can be so casual about this. “I’m dying. When it will happen, only the good Lord knows, but it is happening, and there is nothing you or I can do about it. I have made my peace with it, and I want you to do the same.” She reaches over to pat my thigh.
“Make peace with it?” I repeat, shaking my head in disbelief.
“Yes, make peace with it. If you think about it, I’m lucky. I know I’m going to die. I know that sooner rather than later God is going to come take me home, and when he does, I will be ready. I will have had a chance to say goodbye to the people I care about and right any wrongs I’ve caused. I’m lucky, honey.”
“What about me?” I wring my hands on the steering wheel, feeling my chest get tight as I fight back tears.
“I love you, honey. I loved you before you were even a sparkle in my eye, and I will always be with you. I know this isn’t easy for you. I know there are going to be a lot of tears shed, but we’re lucky, honey.”
I press my lips together to keep from saying something I might regret. I’m not lucky; in fact, I’m unlucky to the tenth power. How many people have I lost, how many people do I have to loose before it’s enough.
“Oh look! Sheryl!” She yells, pulling me from my thoughts as she reaches over, pressing the horn on my steering wheel while her other hand shoots across me so she can wave out my window. Looking to where she’s waving my heart begins to beat wildly
against my ribcage when I see not Sheryl, but Austin walking into one of the many bars that litter Main Street, only it’s not just Austin—it’s him and a woman with her arm wrapped around the back of his waist as he holds the door open for her.
Even from the distance separating us, my lungs compress at the beauty that is him. The years have been good to him. His hair is still shaggy, only now a little lighter; his face is tan and covered in a beard that makes his crystal blue eyes stand out even more. My eyes travel from his face to his torso, which is covered in a dark green thermal that shows off the muscles of his arms, chest, and tapered waist, then down to his denim-covered thighs. When my gaze sweeps back up, his eyes are on me, and I see them crinkle in confusion then realization that soon turns into anger.
“You missed the liquor store,” my mom complains as I speed up.
Michel’s Review
There are certain authors that each reader puts on their personal favorites list because they seem to touch the reader on a personal level. Whether it be the characters, the series, the writing style, or the entertainment value, the author finds a way into the reader’s heart. For me Aurora Rose Reynolds is one of those authors. I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of her books. Her unique writing style and larger than life characters always touch me. I instantly connect with the characters, become personally involved with their lives, and devour their stories. I always finish an Aurora Rose Reynolds book with a big smile and a great sense of the warm & fuzzies.
Fighting To Breath is the first book in her new Shooting Stars series. This series is based around a small fishing town in Alaska. The small town dynamics and unique characters come to life and jump off the pages. They are ordinary people dedicated to their families and their community.
Lea and Austin were childhood friends and high school sweethearts. They had planned the perfect life together. He was going to join the family fishing business. She was going to be by his side as his wife and partner. Two weeks before graduation and one fatal accident changes both of their futures. Lea’s father is killed in a fishing accident. Lea does not want that kind of future any longer. Rather than marry Austin, she fleas with the vow to never return to Cordova. But life has a way of disrupting the best laid plans.
Fifteen years later and one bad marriage under her belt, Lea is forced to return home to Cordova. Her mother is terminally ill. She is returning home to spend time with her mother and make peace with the past. Where she will go from there is a mystery. She is no longer the girl she once was. She no longer has starry eyed dreams, visions of true love, and ideals of grandeur. She is fighting to breath. She is struggling with the reality of losing her mother, her only living family.
Austin Wolf never forgave Lea Lamb for leaving Cordova without an explanation. He couldn’t understand how she could turn her back on their love. He couldn’t understand how she could easily move on with her life without regret or remorse. He couldn’t believe that she would turn her back on his love. His love died the day she left town. Now she’s back and he hates her with a passion.
Fifteen years is a long time. Both Lea and Austin have changed drastically. Their lives have gone in very different directions. Cordova is a very small community. It is inevitable that their paths are going to cross. They are going to either make peace or make Lea’s time with her mother miserable. The choice is theirs. They may have changed but beneath it all they are still the same boy and girl that loved each other deeply.
Lea will have to face her fears and accept their realities. Austin will have to let go of his hatred and see the real Lea. Both have been hurt and destroyed by secrets that kept them apart for fifteen years. They have been fighting to breath all those years. Maybe now they can clear the air and finally take a deep breath and live the lives they were meant to live.
Fighting To Breath was the most emotional book Aurora Rose Reynolds has written. She touched upon so many emotions, fears, and insecurities that we all have. She showed how love, in any form, is our greatest gift. Ordinary people became extraordinary once they opened their hearts.
I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. I am looking forward to the next book in the Shooting Stars series.

THIS IS A STANDALONE SECOND-CHANCE ROMANCE WITH NO CLIFFHANGER ENDING.
As expected, he smiled a rueful grin. “Not like that.”
My heartbeat went sky high but I contained the effect he had on me and raised a sensual brow.
“Well, yes like that, but I mean in business. We work well together.”
Call it hopeful expectation but I knew we would. Gratified, I relaxed back down against his chest and murmured, “We do,” before hitting play on the remote. It meant a lot to me that Jeremy valued my opinion when it came to business decisions. He’d confided in me about his plans for Jet Set and we had even discussed the best ways to grow membership as well as which cities would be ideal targets when he was ready to expand. I pondered our business savvy as he drew shapes on my back but when the movie started, I dedicated my attention to Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Sometime during the movie, we must have fallen asleep because a pounding on my door woke me up. “Stay here, it’s probably Mrs. Bardot wanting to see her dress on me. I’ll just tell her I’ll come by before we leave.”
“Sounds good,” he mumbled as he covered his head with the pillow. All the sex we’d been having was probably wearing him out. I knew it was me.
I opened my door to find Lily standing there.
“I kissed a girl,” she announced.
I simply blinked at her.
“And he liked it.”
I stepped aside for her to enter. “Preston?”
She traipsed over to the couch and flopped herself down. “Yes, Preston.”
I pulled a blanket off the back of the sofa and sat in the chair. “I thought you weren’t having sex?”
“We weren’t. That’s the point.”
“Lily, I’m just waking up. Help me out a little.”
She covered her face in her hands as she spoke. “After I got off the phone with you, I went to go find Preston. It was late and he wasn’t in his room. When I called him, he told me he was in the hotel bar. I went down there to find him sitting with a French woman who didn’t even speak English.”
I was confused. “What was he doing with her?”
“I asked him the same thing. He told me it was nothing. That he was just sitting with her. I asked why and he told me he had overheard my conversation with you and felt bad that I was feeling sexually frustrated. Well hello, I told him, he could fix it.”
I grimaced.
“At least I wasn’t sitting in the hotel bar staring at a dude like I might fuck him.”
“Is that what he had planned?”
“No! That’s when he told me he’d never cheat on me. She was for me, for us, not him. And then he asked me to kiss her.”
“And you did?”
“Yes, I did, to prove a point to him. I wanted him to know I was sick of this no sex thing and if he wanted me to show him just how sick of it I was, I would. So I brought her to our room and we sat on the couch and I kissed her. Then I stood up and looked at him and asked him if I’d proven to him how much I wanted him now.”
I pulled my legs up under my chin. “And he said what exactly?”
“That he wanted me to kiss her again.”
The situation wasn’t at all funny, but I had a hard time not laughing. It was just so unbelievable. “So what did you do?”
“Packed my stuff and left him there to stare at her as I caught the next flight back to New York City.”
“Did you ever think he might have a mechanical problem and was looking for a way to . . . you know,” Jeremy was standing in my bedroom door looking yummy, all sleepy and crumpled.
Lily’s eyes shot to his. “To get it up?”
Jeremy cleared his throat. “Yeah.”
She looked at him deep in thought. “Why would he have a problem like that? He never has before.”
Jeremy shrugged. “Stress, medication, I’m really not sure. I’ve just heard it happens.”
“We have been under a lot of stress,” she admitted.
Jeremy walked toward me and put his hands on my shoulders, massaging them.
I sighed and leaned forward.
“St. Claire, focus on me.”
I laughed. I had really missed her. “You need to talk to him. Ask him about it.”
“What if he says yes? Then what? I have sex with a girl to see if he can get off?”
“Men do like girl on girl action.”
I cranked my head around. “Jeremy!” I scolded.
“I’m just being honest.”
I narrowed my eyes at him. He raised his palms. “Not me of course.”
Lily jumped up. “I have to run. I have to talk to Preston and find out what’s going on. I’ll call you,” she yelled as she slammed my door.
“What if that’s not the problem?” I asked Jeremy.
He plopped on the couch. “At least it will get them talking.”
I had to laugh.
That it would.
I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I’ve always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.
Beautiful Little Fool by K.K. Hendon is one of those books that you are either going to like or hate. It is not a romance. It is more of a dark thriller or psychological thriller. When I finished the book I questioning what I had just read. I didn’t particularly enjoy the book but at the same time I could not put it down. It was like driving past a horrific accident and fighting the impulse to look. Rather than turning away you ended up staring with morbid curiosity. I had to ponder on this story for a few days before I could formulate my thoughts to write a spoiler free review.
Beautiful Little Fool is masterfully written. The author wove a very complex plot that was meticulously executed. The twists and turns will keep the reader guessing. The final revelations will be a complete shock. The characters are well developed and play their roles to perfection.
It was very hard to like the main characters in this book. Neither one had qualities that a reader could invest in. On the other hand, their story was fascinating.
Ellis Carrington, the hero was the unlucky guy that was born under the wrong star. Nothing could of changed his destiny. He went from being an ordinary guy to a ruthless billionaire within moments when he inherited 87 billion dollars from Harold Feingold. The power and money affected him and changed his character. He suddenly had money and power. The only thing left to conquer was Cedar Reynolds, the most desirable woman in New York City.
Cedar Reynolds is the Queen of New York City. She is rich, smart, powerful, and exceptionally beautiful. She was billionaire Harold Feingold’s protege. She should of inherited his empire and 87 billion dollars. Now she will do anything to acquire this money. Even sacrificing herself to Ellis Carrington. After all she is Cedar Reynolds, the woman everyone wants to be.
The story begins with Harold Feingold passing away and the mystery of who will be heir to his empire. No one knows what his last will and testament contain. The one thing for certain is his last wishes will be carried out to perfection. He is still the most powerful man even from the grave. His power has no limits.
This book shocked me. Even though it was not my cup of tea, it was a very good book. If you are looking for a romance, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a book where there is redemption, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a book to mess with your mind and twist your thoughts, read this book. This is a psychological thriller that was written with perfection.

SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS is book one in SINFUL NIGHTS, a four-book series. Each book will follow a new couple.
Kelley’s Review
Sweet Sinful Nights has it all!! Action, intrigue, suspense and off the charts steaminess. Brent is a man who knows how to please a woman and regrets ever walking away from Shannon all those years ago. He put his career first but not a day goes by that he does not think of her. He even gets back on stage for one night in hopes that his performance will end up on the internet and that Shannon will see it. Brent broke Shannon’s heart and she has never fully healed. She focused on her career instead and became an outstanding success. When Brent and Shannon cross paths again years later the chemistry between them is off the charts. Will physical attraction be enough to try again? Or when the going gets tough will Brent walk away and wound her all over again?
Everyone knows by now that Lauren writes some extremely hot and sizzling romance. The Seductive Nights Series set panties on fire everywhere. So of course we would expect that the sexy brother of Clay Nichols would be smoking hot dirty talker and of course he is but there is so much more to Brent than meets the eye. He never stopped loving Shannon and his compassion for her brought me to tears. It’s not about the gifts you can give someone. It’s about what you do when someone needs you and can’t tell you that they do. It’s knowing the one you love better than they know themselves. Shannon has a dark past that only Brent has ever know about. She has stayed away from relationships because she did not want to explain the demons her family was dealing with. Brent was the sunshine that brought her out of the darkness and it does not take her very long to realize she wants her sunshine back but she kept a big secret from Brent and knows when he finds out it might just be the end of the Brent and Shannon show.
I laughed, cried, and fanned myself. I am so excited to read this new series. Lauren has created a sexy romantic suspense series that is going to have readers everywhere questioning what the real truth is. This story has an HEA but it also has a mystery that is not solved and I don’t believe will be solved anytime soon. I am looking forward to meeting Shannon’s sexy brothers individually in this series starting with Ryan in Sinful Desire!! Bravo Lauren on the start of new series.

It’s kind of a funny story. My father inadvertently set us up. I was looking for work as TV news producer and my husband worked in local news, so my dad suggested I talk to him for job advice. My dad had known him and worked with him for a few years. Of course, the inadvertent set-up was made all the more amusing by the fact that my father once told him I was an actress and sent him a headshot of a soap star from As The World Turns, and my husband hung that on his fridge for a few years, thinking it was me 🙂

Sasha Cherlin died the night she let Nick Tate walk out on her for a life of crime. Her very essence was destroyed when they broke their promise to one another.
A MAN WITH REMORSE…
Nick Tate made his choice with her future in mind. He loved Sasha enough to know that leaving her behind was the only way to keep her safe.
A PATH TO REVENGE…
Special Agent Jax Barlow understands the bond of love and he plans to use it to get justice. Nick and Sasha will do anything to rewrite their past. He’s counting on that to bring them down.
Wasted Lust is a 321 spin-off, full-length, romantic suspense filled with lies, secrets, and the power of redemption by the New York Times bestselling author, JA Huss.
But I can’t fault him for it. If he had realized Sasha’s true worth—aside from killing and secret information—she’d still be his. She’d probably be dead because of it too.
My hatred for him dims a little. I will never like that man. Ever. But he left Sasha for a reason, I think. He left her because she was too good for him. She was pure and he was corrupt. I have a feeling that leaving her behind was as purposeful a move as any of the others he’s made throughout the years.
But why?
Does he love her? Is she the missing woman? She can’t be. Sasha freely admits she has not heard from or talked to him in a decade and I believe her.
So who is the woman who lured him back to the States six years ago? Sasha would’ve been just graduating high school. Her passport shows she was in New Zealand with her family that summer after graduation. So if he didn’t come to see her, then who?
This mystery has plagued me for years. Why does one of the FBI’s most wanted criminals leave Central America and come back to the US when he’s got a powerful position in a Honduran gang to protect him at home?
Why risk it?
For the job?
No. It can’t be that simple. Nothing about this guy is simple.
Did he lie to Sasha? Was he really her promise? It’s convenient that her father and his, the only two men who could substantiate the claim he made, are both dead.
I ponder this until we reach the airport. And by that time, Sasha is sleeping so deeply, she doesn’t even wake up when I pick her up in my arms and walk her up the stairs. I take her to the back of the plane and place her on the bed. “Sasha,” I whisper softly in her ear.
“Hmmm?” she moans back.
“Let’s take off your coat.”
“Mmmm.” She moves just enough for me to get her coat off, and then she turns over and falls back asleep with her hands bunching the pillow up to her face.
I stand there and smile down at her. Just smile. She’s so fucking adorable. And I’m starting to regret that rash decision to have sex with her in the car. You only get one first time. This one was pretty good as far as first times go. But still… I should’ve waited. Made it more romantic and less primal.
I lean down and kiss her on the head and then I walk out, leaving the lights off so she can get some rest. I go all the way up front to the business end of the plane and take a seat at the table.
“Drink, sir?” Essie asks.
“Sure. Brandy, if you’ve got it. You the only one on staff tonight?”
“No, the other girls are chatting in the galley. But if you want them, I can get them.”
“No, let them chat. I’ve got everything I need and I can use the quiet time.”
“Very good, sir,” she says, placing a snifter with two fingers of brandy in front of me on the table. “Just call if you need anything.”
I need a lot of things. But nothing Essie can help with. So I won’t be calling for her. I just drink my brandy and think about Sasha. I think about picking her up again and carrying her to the car that will be waiting for us when we land. I hope she doesn’t wake up.
Mostly because I want to carry her again. I loved that feeling. Her soft body against my hard one. But also because I’m not taking her home. And when she figures that out, she’s gonna be pissed.
Just some general info about this book and how it relates to the rest of my books:
This is a story about Sasha Cherlin who appears in Slack, Come, Come Back, Coming For You, 321 (unnamed at the very end), and Meet Me In The Dark. It CAN be read as a standalone, but readers should be aware that this book is meant to be “The End” for Sasha and her life in the Company. Wasted Lust occurs ten years after Coming For You, two years after Meet Me In The Dark and AT THE SAME TIME as 321, so it is a parallel book, and although there are no real spoilers for 321 (I was very careful to avoid them) the plots converge in the middle of Wasted Lust. I would consider this to be a traditional romantic suspense and it is not dark.
Michel’s Review
Wow! Fans of the Rook and Ronin series, the Dirty, Dark and Deadly series, the Three, Two, One novel and Meet Me In The Dark novel have been waiting for this book. Wasted Lust is Sasha Cherlin-Aston’s book. This book is the grand finale of all these books combined. I say this loosely because of there are probably some surprises in store. Wasted Lust was SUPERB!
J. A. Huss is a brilliant writer. Her books are loaded with thrilling dark suspense, high octane action, and erotic romance. She meticulously delivers a complex plot that has unpredictable twists and turns. Her characters are very complex individuals with unique talents and personalities. Each character, whether they are the main character or secondary character, captures the reader’s full attention. Readers instantly become connected with the characters, immersed in their stories, and invested in the entire multiple series. She very carefully ties all of these characters together and brings their world to life. There are no six degrees of separation in this series, it is more like six degrees of connections.
We met Sasha Cherlin when she was thirteen years old in Slack: A Day In The Life of Ford Aston. She quickly became a prominent character in the ongoing books. In the Dirty, Dark, and Deadly series, Sasha became a prominent player. She was a Company child, a highly specialized child assassin. Her involvement with the major players in the Dirty,Dark, and Deadly series set the tone for Meet Me In The Dark.
After the Company was taken down, Sasha was not only left orphaned but also left without a real identity. She is no longer a lethal assassin, she is just a lost kid. Ford Aston adopted her and made her a part of his family. Her teen years were spent adjusting to a normal family life, becoming a carefree teenager, adjusting to society, and having a healthy existence. Although she has adjusted pretty well, she is still haunted by her former life in the Company. She has made great strides to leave her old life behind. She has become a strong young woman pursuing a PHD degree in Anthropology. Her life is on a positive path after ten years of struggling to become normal. She finally feels like she has put that life behind her until the past comes back to haunt her.
Coming back from a dig in South America she is waylaid by the FBI because of her connection to Nick Tate. Nick Tate was also a Company kid. He was her promise. He betrayed her ten years ago and left her behind. Now he’s back and according to the FBI he is hunting her. The FBI wants her to work with them. Agent Jax Barlow, from the Three,Two, One novel, wants her for himself. He sees the scared kid, the intelligent scholar, the dangerous assassin, and sensual woman that is wrapped in the package known as Sasha Aston. His desire for her goes beyond capturing the most wanted fugitive. He wants Sasha, the whole package with all the wrappings.
As the secrets begin to resurface and the Company’s tentacles begin to reach out, it is clear that Sasha’s life is in danger. She is no longer the ruthless assassin she once was. She has learned what fear truly means. She is also dealing with the old hurts that came from Nick betraying her. Jax vows to keep Sasha safe and alive. Sasha doesn’t think that Jax can accomplish this. He has no idea how ruthless and far reaching the Company is. He has no clue as to how dangerous Nick Tate is. He has no clue how dangerous Sasha Cherlin is.
As Jax and Sasha take on this high profile case they will learn that there is more at stake than their hearts. They will learn that they have to completely trust and depend on one another. Sasha will learn that she has wasted her lust.
This is the most emotional novel that J.A. Huss has written. The reader gets a true insight to Sasha Cherlin. It will tear at your heart strings and bring you to tears. This young woman will capture your heart.
Wasted Lust is full of surprises. The Company is once again pulling out their secret weapons and is determined to win. All of the characters from these series are in danger.
This book is not only emotional, it is very erotic. The sizzling chemistry between Sasha and Jax is scorching hot. Their passion has turned the pages into flames.
Although this is the grand finale I have a feeling that J.A. Huss is going to keep all of these characters alive. Their children are their legacy. They have stories too.
I highly recommend Wasted Lust. It should not be read as a stand alone novel. I would recommend reading all of the series. They are addicting. If you choose to read Wasted Lust as a stand alone novel, I can guarantee you will be going back and one clicking all of these books.
J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).
She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.
