Although Derek Valencia and the guys from Blue Fire agreed that they wouldn’t become poster children for the rockstar lifestyle, they’re early into their first tour when things start to go south. Enter Violet Davis, minder extraordinaire. If she can help them clean up their acts, they’ll be able to achieve their dreams. But when close quarters have Derek and Violet spending a lot of time together, things really start to heat up.

I WANT YOU TO WANT ME is the second book in the Rock Star Romance series by Erika Kelly. I absolutely loved this book. Derek and the boys are like an über-talented version of the Lost Boys, and Violet is their Wendy. Both Derek and Violet know what it’s like to live without encouragement and affection, and neither is looking for a relationship. Miscommunication and preconceived notions about themselves and each other make their love match difficult at times, but thank goodness for Emmie, Derek’s sister, and Slater Vaughn, lead singer of Blue Fire. These two, crazy in love themselves, are the voice of reason and reality for Derek and Violet, helping them see what everyone else does, that they are much better together than apart (yeah, I’m a fan of the HEA…).

I thoroughly enjoyed I WANT YOU TO WANT ME. The story is well-written, and the characters are absolutely wonderful. I have to go back and read YOU REALLY GOT ME (Book 1), and give this book a solid 4.5 stars. Add this one to your TBRs, book lovers, because it is a must-read for fans of the rockstar romance.

I was done. Finished. Out.
For the past seven years, I belonged to a division of the government that wasn’t on the books. I operated alone. There was a mission: I either failed or succeeded. If I failed, that meant I was dead.

Mackenzie Morgan is on the receiving end of her family’s attempts to get her to settle down, but she’s in no hurry. Independent and unafraid to speak her mind, she catches the attention of Texas Ranger Daxton Chambers at a charity event. Dax finds Mackenzie a breath of fresh air. Smitten, he can’t forget her and, when Fate intervenes, he won’t miss the chance to meet her again.

Reading a new-to-me author is a little bit like opening a present. I don’t know what’s inside, and there’s always a little bit of wondering whether it will be a good fit or not. But, still, I’m a fan of presents, so when I had the opportunity to read JUSTICE FOR MACKENZIE by author Susan Stoker, I was in.

I enjoyed so many things about this book. Mackenzie is a real hoot. A self-professed babbler, she talks about everything that pops into her mind, unfiltered. But she’s met her match in Dax. At 46, he’s ready to settle down, and falls for Mackenzie pretty much immediately, loving her just as she is. I really appreciate seeing a couple that is a bit older than the norm in the romance genre, because the life experience is something that I can more closely relate to. Mackenzie is not perfect, but Dax doesn’t want or expect her to be, and it’s their normalcy, their whole down-to-earth attitude that makes them readable and appealing.

There is a dark undercurrent to this story which adds another layer of interest for me. I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say that there are some intense scenes that made me a little uncomfortable, but nothing that would keep me from recommending it.

I have found a new author to follow in Susan Stoker (and, by the way, she is just a lovely person, too, so added bonus!). JUSTICE FOR MACKENZIE is a solid 4-star read for me, and I look forward to reading more from her in the near future.

Life has been anything but beautiful for Karmen Butler. When Brayden reappears in the picture, she doesn’t know whether she can trust him or not. But there is more to Brayden than anyone understood. While his life appeared to be perfect, he was also hiding his own personal hell, and is still dealing with the fallout all these years later.

This book is sexy, heartbreaking, and angsty, and I absolutely could not stop reading. SALVAGE is a solid 4-star book for me, and I am very much looking forward to Part 2.

He cupped my ass and lifted me up, wrapping my legs around his waist. “There was one point I’d made the decision to tell you the truth. I owed you that much. I squeezed my thighs around his waist, rubbing myself against his hardness. I moaned. “But you weren’t giving me my life back.” I corrected. I stilled. “You released me?” I couldn’t hide the hurt in my voice. For some reason, releasing me sounded worse than letting me go.

“I tried to release you, Pup. For Max. But there was a major problem with that plan, and no matter what happened, it would never have worked,” King confessed.

“Why is that?” I asked, needing to know, but at the same time acutely aware of the pulsing between my legs. Relief and release was only a scrap or two of fabric away. Throbbing for me.

She squealed when he grasped her waist and picked her up. His actions came as a shock, his strength too. Her protest hovered on the tip of her tongue, though she never actually said anything. His serious expression and determined strides were enough to keep her mouth closed.

Until he crushed his lips to hers. At that point she knew where it was heading, understood what he meant when he’d shouted. He was sick of holding back. Asher was taking what he wanted and ignoring any possible consequences.
