Tammy Falkner and friends have compiled this emotional anthology to honor those we have lost to Alzheimers, Brain Injuries, and Brain Health. It is a tribute to the family members and loved ones lost within themselves. It’s a reminder that they still remain in our hearts forever.

Forget Me Not Anthology is based around the Reed Tattoo Shop and their reality television show. Ten tattoo artist are vying for a permanent position with the Reeds. Each artist is presented with a challenge and paired up with a new client. The artist are challenged to create a personal tattoo for their client in an allotted amount of time in front of the camera. Each client has a story that they want inked on their skin. It is the artist job to listen and create a design that will pay tribute to the story they are told. At the end of the contest the Reeds will select the next new artist to join their team.

Ten authors created heartrending emotional stories that were phenomenal considering the each story was novella length. It’s hard to deliver a compelling story with such short page space and word usage. Each author did a superb job gave the reader an emotional ride. Some of the characters are based off of characters in their own series or created specifically for this series. Each character comes to life and their stories capture your heart. There were a few that left me an emotional wreck and a stack of used tissues.

Each author had a snippet of one of the Reeds in the story but they were only supporting characters to overall setting of the story. I will say that each author captured their personality and their compassionate hearts.

My favorite stories were by LJ Charles- Burned, Jane Charles-Rattled, and Diane Franks-The Test of Time. These stories were gut wrenching and had me in tears. The tattoos they received were a glorious tribute to those they had loved and lost.

Tattooing Doe was the single most erotic moment of my life. Marking her perfect, pale skin with a tattoo I’d designed for her made me so fucking hard I had to adjust myself every thirty seconds in order to concentrate on my work.

When I was done, I handed her the hand mirror, and she walked over to the full-sized mirror that hung on the back of the door, like she’d seen dozens of my other clients do before. When she held up the hand mirror, she gasped.

“What?” I asked in a panic, hoping she didn’t already see what I’d hidden in the tattoo. I was an asshole for putting it there. I was an asshole for tattooing her in the first place.

I was just an asshole.

But I couldn’t help myself. My name needed to be on her. It wasn’t enough just to call her mine. I needed to mark her as well. So hidden in the vine work under the quote I found that I thought was perfect for her, was my name.

KING was woven into the design. In order to see it you had to tilt your head or otherwise you wouldn’t notice it. But it was there.

I would tell her eventually of course, but I wanted it to be my secret for a while. She’d stopped being my possession a while ago, a lot longer before I cared to admit, but I still felt the need to mark her as mine.

I still liked the idea of owning her.

Only now, she owned me, too.

She didn’t notice the name. Tears filled her eyes. She stood there staring at the hand mirror in just her panties. Little cheeky ones where her ass hung out of the bottoms. Her tits were only inches from my face. Her tears of happiness made my dick twitch. Although her sad tears evoked the same response.

My dick wasn’t partial to which kind of tears he liked.

I took the mirror from her hand and lifted her up onto the counter. “You like it?” I asked, pushing her panties down her legs.

“Shut the fuck up!” I demanded, thrusting hard to get her attention. She closed her eyes, and her head fell back. “That’s fucking better. Now, keep that pretty mouth of yours shut while I fuck you.”

“Okay,” she whispered, breathless.

“Shut up,” I said again, and she closed her mouth. “Shut up so I can fuck you…and show you how much I love you.”

She nodded and although her eyes stayed shut, a tear rolled down her cheek. I sucked it off her chin before it could fall to the floor.

Then, I fucked her.

Hard.

I showed her how much I loved her until I couldn’t tell where I started and she began. Until all that was in that room was me and her and the thing between us that kept pulling us together like magnets. Until we were lost in sensations and orgasms.

And in each other.

I fucked her until we were one person, and in a way we were, because I’d lost myself along the way and I found myself again in the most unlikely place.

I’d found myself again in the haunted eyes of a girl who was just as lost as I was.

He cupped my ass and lifted me up, wrapping my legs around his waist. “There was one point I’d made the decision to tell you the truth. I owed you that much. But then all the shit went down with Isaac and Preppy, so when I made the deal with your father for Max, I thought I was doing you a favor by giving you your life back and getting you out of all the shit that came with being in mine.”

I squeezed my thighs around his waist, rubbing myself against his hardness. I moaned. “But you weren’t giving me my life back.” I corrected. I placed my palms on his cheeks and held his face in my hands, searching for any sign in his eyes that what I felt for him might have been wrong, but instead what I found was a resounding need to fix what was broken between us. Tears formed in my eyes. “You were taking it away.” King’s lips parted. He ran his thumb across my lower lip, turning his head he kissed his way up my arm.

“Goosebumps,” King observed, running his fingertips across my already stimulated skin. I bit my lip and stifled a moan.

“It’s just the heat,” I lied.

“You’ve got that fucking right,” King growled, bending my wrist behind my back, his lips came crashing down over mine. We were a tangling of lips, clanking of teeth, sloshing through the water to better line ourselves up with each other. It wasn’t pretty.

It was need.

“I’m still fucking mad at you for letting me go,” I said into his mouth, while our tongues did things other parts of me throbbed to do.

King stilled and held my face away from his, our chests heaving in unison, my erect nipples rubbing against his hot hard skin as we panted together. Our breaths mingled in the air. He ran his hand down the side of my face and cupped my cheek in his palm. “I didn’t give you away, Pup. I released you.”

I stilled. “You released me?” I couldn’t hide the hurt in my voice. For some reason, releasing me sounded worse than letting me go.

King ran his tongue across the tip of my earlobe, holding me tightly against his warmth. Chills ran down my spine and into my very core and they had nothing to do with the temperature of the rain.

“I tried to release you, Pup. For Max. But there was a major problem with that plan, and no matter what happened, it would never have worked,” King confessed.

“Why is that?” I asked, needing to know, but at the same time acutely aware of the pulsing between my legs. Relief and release was only a scrap or two of fabric away. Throbbing for me.

“The problem was…you never released me,” King growled, crashing his lips to mine. He moaned into my mouth when I rubbed myself up against his straining erection. He pushed the fabric of my shorts aside and the second he parted my folds with his index finger, I shuddered. He plunged a long index finger inside of me, and for a second my eyes rolled back in my head until he withdrew it. I cried out in frustration, wiggling myself against him, needing him to make me feel anything other than empty.

Perfectly Imperfect by Harper Sloan is the best book she has written. Although it is a romance themed book it is also an inspirational book. Harper Sloan bared her soul in this beautiful story of a woman that had very low self esteem. We all have insecurities and are harsher on ourselves than most people see on the surface. Harper dug deep and put these inadequate feelings into words and created a story I think we all can relate to.

We are all shaped and molded by our childhood. Our childhood experience shapes our perceptions of ourselves and how we perceive others. As adults we know we are in charge of our own destinies but it’s hard to let go of what has been ingrained into our souls from an early age. It can take life changing events or one little word or action to change our destiny and take us on a new path. A new path that changes the way we perceive ourselves. A door that opens our hearts and allows us to love ourselves just as we are.

Willow has had a low self image all of her life. She has settled for what she perceived would make others happy rather than making herself happy. She has settled for a demeaning job. She has settled with a verbally abusive husband. She has lost herself until the day her husband cheated on her with her younger, perfect sister. That day was the beginning for Willow Tate. Michel’s Review

Asa is the bittersweet end of the Marked Men Series by Jay Crownover. Although it is the ending of the series it is also the beginning of Asa Cross. It is his time to grasp a new life and earn the trust and loyalty of those he loves. It’s his chance to prove he can be an honorable man worthy of love.

We met Asa in the second book of the Marked Men series. He was not a good man. He was a criminal, a con man, a liar, and a thief. Everyone he came in contact with he screwed over, including his only family, his sister Ayden. Throughout the series we have watched Asa reach rock bottom and claw his way out of the gutter. In a near death experience that left him physically incapacitated became the turning point in his life. His sister Ayden and her friends took Asa in, showed him the true meaning of friendship, and taught him how to become a decent human being. Rome saw a broken soul that needed mending, it just took a little trust. Now Royal is seeing a man she could love forever.

An ex con and a cop. It shouldn’t work but it does. Royal sees the good in Asa. She respects the man he has become. Asa sees the damaged little girl in Royal and gives her the acceptance she has always craved.

Asa was a beautiful ending for the Marked Men series. It truly portrayed the true meaning of love, friendship, and respect.

Although the Marked Men series has ended there is still more to come from our favorite characters in the new series, The Saints of Denver, which will feature new friends and fellow artist. I can’t wait.

Read the Marked Men Series by Jay Crownover. It is one of my all time favorite series!

Sidney Halston has added another knock out to the Worth The Fight Series. Sexy Brazilian businessman, Enzo Silva, is gearing up for the fight of his life. This time the fight is taking place outside of the ring. It’s a lockdown match and there are no rules. He wants Jamie Lynn Calhoun and he is going to win her heart.

Jamie Lynn, JL to her friends, marches to her own beat. She is a carefree spirit that will not be pinned down. She has learned the hard way to live life to the fullest and grasp every moment. She makes no apologies for who she is.

Enzo moved to the Florida after an ugly divorce. Although he was born rich and entitled ;he has worked very hard to become the businessman he is today. He came from a wealthy background and has learned that monetary riches do not define the person you are. He has lived in a structured, loveless life with high expectations. For once he is taking control of his life and pursuing his own personal dreams. He wants to become a professional fighter and his cousin’s gym, WTF is the perfect place to pursue his goals. Michel’s Review

If you are looking for a steamy new adult romance that has a low amount of angst and a ton of steam, His New Jam by Shannyn Schroeder is this kind of book. It is the fifth book in the Hot & Nerdy series and can be read as a stand alone novel.

Although this series theme is about nerds finding their happily ever after, this book kind of ran off course. I couldn’t understand how either of these characters was a nerd. Was it because they were in the college marching band? My opinion was they were musicians pursuing their passion for music. The whole marching band concept of the story was delivered in a negative way that left a really bad impression of what marching band is all about. The musicians in marching bands are some of the most dedicated, fun loving people that have a passion for music, a great sense of team work, and a fun loving spirit. They are the back bone of school spirit. They are the dedicated cheerleaders, crowd pleasers, and performers that put in more practice time than most football players do. They do it because they love it. They do it because they are members of a great team. This book made it look like it was tedious and the worst part of being a musician. That just seemed insulting. Musicians are some of the coolest people around…even if they are in a marching band.

As for the romantic aspect of the story, it had a solid plot. The characters had an abundance of chemistry and an abundance of steamy moments. It was a fast paced story that was easy to get caught up in once you got past the negativity of the marching band and the hero’s supposedly manwhore flaws. I never really saw him as a manwhore, he was more of a fun, flirty type of guy that made everyone’s day better. As for the heroine, she had a huge chip on her shoulder but once she let her guard down she was likable.

Overall His New Jam by Shannyn Schroeder was a predictable but still a good romance.

Author Bio

Shannyn is a former English teacher, who now works as a part-time editor while raising her three kids.

Even though she wrote from high school through college (mostly poetry), she’d never considered a career as an author. Writing fell by the wayside as she focused her energy on creating lesson plans and new and fabulous ways to torment her teen students. One group in particular dubbed her “The Torture Master,” a title she carried into motherhood.

After the birth of baby number two, Shannyn resigned from teaching and fell in love with reading romance novels. She read so many books so quickly that her husband teased, “If you’re going to read so many damn books, why don’t you just write one?

DARING HER LOVE, Melissa Foster’s offering in the 1001 Dark Nights novella series, is sweet, sexy, and, like the amuse bouche that it is, leaves the reader wanting more, more, more. Engaging from start to finish, I could not have enjoyed this Braden family novella more. Kat is down to earth and real, dealing with issues that most of us can relate to in terms of relationships, what she’s settled for, and what she is not willing to settle for anymore. She is in touch with her needs, and sees very quickly that Eric is a risk well worth taking. Eric is not just the bad boy that Kat has pegged him as. He’s also sweet, sexy, and unwilling to let Kat walk away and pretend that their encounter never happened.

I would love to see more of Eric and Kat, so, Melissa, if you’re listening, yeah, get on that! 4.5 hot, sweet, please give us more stars for DARING HER LOVE. Add it to your TBR; you’ll be hooked, too.
