When Levi meets Sarah, all he wants to do is protect her, but it doesn’t take long for his feelings to turn into something very different.

Authors Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde have been keeping things deliciously steamy with the books in their Dirty Sexy series. These three brothers are strong, sexy, and always in control. I had a feeling that Levi was going to be my personal favorite of the Kincaid brothers, and I was so right.

Because of his past, a childhood filled with things that kids should never be privy to, Levi is a man that thrives on control. He is a protector, with an eye always open for those that aren’t able to take care of themselves. Sarah is a woman completely on her own, with secrets that keep her hiding out and ready to run. Along with his need to keep her safe, Levi’s attraction to Sarah sort of knocks him for a loop, because, well, that whole in control thing.

I really enjoyed DIRTY SEXY CUFFED. I like a man that knows what he wants, and, if he’s somewhat, erm, commanding, even better. Levi has no trouble letting Sarah know exactly what he’s about, and taking her right along for the ride. I like Sarah’s resilience, her willingness to trust Levi with her safety, her body, her heart. And the sexy times? Yeah, Carly and Erika nailed it, because, hot. Where was that fan again…?

As with the other books in the series, DIRTY SEXY CUFFED left me happily satisfied, and is an easy 4.5 stars for me. I really enjoy this series, so was excited to hear that there will be a fourth book, DIRTY SEXY SINNER. I can’t wait to see what these ladies have up their sleeves, but I do know that it will be great.

Like most readers, I have my go-to authors, ones that I would move immediately to the top of my TBR when their books go live. Imagine, then, how intrigued I was, when one of my favorites recommended a new author, one that she was so sure of, she was publishing that author’s book. Color me excited, and sign me up.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S FLING by new author Eliza Walker was such a lovely read. If you think that there’s not plenty of romance, passion, and intrigue amongst a current-day troupe of Shakespearean actors and actresses, I’ve got news for you: you couldn’t be more wrong. Eliza has done a great job of writing characters that are passionate about their craft, of making dramatic lines and sonnets interesting and inspiring, and of writing a sexy and emotional second-chance love story.

I love that Max is written as flawed, yet reformed, aware of the things that didn’t work for him in the past, and willing to do whatever it takes to emerge as a changed and better man for Nicola. And, Nicola, having made choices before that broke her, is now a strong woman, less willing to give up the things that matter to her, yet still self-aware enough to know when to bend.

I loved everything about this book, from the glimpses of life in the theater, to the rich and strong personalities of all of the characters. Eliza Walker is an author to watch, because I believe that she will be gracing us with plenty of good books in the future. I happily recommend A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S FLING, and look forward to reading more books by Eliza.

This the first book I have read by Dani Jace. Game On! is a charming sports romance.

Heath Lancaster is at the end of his professional football career. He is playing in a semi-pro league in Virginia Beach. Rather than seeing this as a step down in his career, he sees it as an opportunity. When he meets Jordan Walker it’s a whole new game.

Jordan has been burned by love before. She’s not looking for a relationship. When she meets Heath Lancaster , she’s beginning to lose her resolve. What starts out as a summer hook up turns into something more. Heath is honest, sincere, and sexy as sin. He gives her the courage to reach for more.

The past has a way of catching up but this time it’s not going to destroy Jordan’s life.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were quite likable. There was quite a bit of sports phrases that turned into sexual banter. It made the book delightful.

The unlikely love story between Jenny Roscoe and Drake ‘Doomsday’ Davenport began at age 10, when they recognized each other as a safe place, each accepting the other for who and what they were. Against all odds, and across years, the love that they felt for each other was tested, time and again, until their differences proved to be too much. But as two halves of a whole, Jenny and Drake prove that time and distance is no barrier to true love.

When given the opportunity to read DOOMSDAY LOVE by author Shanora Williams, I jumped right in. I am a sucker for books about MMA/fighters, and this one seemed to be a perfect fit. Let me begin by saying that, while I appreciate the appeal of the New Adult genre, I am not their biggest fan, mostly because I am rather far beyond the age range covered. That being said, I have to say that Shanora has done a fine job of writing a book that will appeal to a variety of readers.

While the ‘Past’ part of the story was important for background, I especially enjoyed the ‘Present’ part of the book, and felt more connected with the characters once they’d had a chance to grow into themselves, and find themselves as individuals. Drake, especially, emerged as a man that has learned from his past, and is willing to continue to evolve in order to be better in every way.

If you’re a fan of second-chance romances interwoven with redemption, forgiveness, and new beginnings, DOOMSDAY LOVE is for you. Don’t wait to add it to your TBR.

Jules Rodriguez has a problem. Her ex, the one that dumped her and high-tailed it out of town right after high school graduation, is back in Devil’s Falls. Jules knows that some people think of her as the ‘on the shelf’ spinster with a penchant for cats, nursing a broken heart over the one that got away, and she is determined to put an end to that idea. How? By stirring up some scandal, and giving the townfolk, especially Grant, something to talk about. Enter one Adam Meyer, former bad boy of Devil’s Falls. Adam is more than happy to help a girl out, as long as she knows the score: he’s just back in town for a while, but he sure isn’t staying. In the meantime, though, he’ll be glad to help Jules with her plan.

Okay, I’m not going to lie. If you tell me that the heroine of a book owns a cat café, namely Cups and Kittens, I’m already all in. Add in a tall, dark, sexier-than-sin cowboy, one that’s damaged but not beyond redemption, and I’m a goner. Happily, FOOLPROOF LOVE by Katee Robert, has all of this and more, making it one of my favorite reads lately.

Katee has the gift of writing books peopled with quirky complex characters, and storylines that grab you from the first words and wrap you up completely. I didn’t know much about FOOLPROOF LOVE before I started it, but knowing that Katee had written it, there was no question that I had to read it.

I loved every single character in this book. Jules spent high school known as one half of the ‘golden couple,’ until Grant left Devil’s Falls for greener pastures. Since then, she’s done her best to move on, and she has done, for the most part. Her love of her hometown is evident in all that she does, and she is not about to have Grant, or anyone else, determine how people see her, or how she feels about herself. Adam Meyer is definitely not a ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of guy. Shaped by his father’s desertion, he couldn’t wait to leave Devil’s Falls behind, refusing to be tied down to any place or anyone. But one person that Adam would do anything for is his mother, and finding out that she’s sick has brought him back to the place that he just can’t bear to stay.

The chemistry between Jules and Adam is H.O.T., oh, my gosh, it’s crazy combustible, like, whoa, as Jules would say. The two agree to be ‘fake’ boyfriend and girlfriend, in order to kick up Jules’ scandal factor a few notches, but, well, we know how these things go. It isn’t long at all, oh, maybe one hot minute, before the ‘fake’ part evolves into something very real and not at all what either of them was expecting.

I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed FOOLPROOF LOVE. Besides two main characters that I love, Katee has populated Devil’s Falls with a whole host of other folks that I can’t wait to read about. Aubry, Quinn, Daniel, all of them have a story of their own, and I can’t wait to have them in my hot little book-loving hands. I highly recommend this book (can you tell?!), and suggest you pop it right up to the top of your TBR. Happy reading!

He frowned. “Boyfriend?”

“Oh, yeah, it’s a new thing. We haven’t exactly gone public with it—you know how Devil’s Falls can be—so you wouldn’t have heard.” She gave him a pat on his arm. “It was nice seeing you. So great. Really, we’ll have to catch up sometime soon.” And then she stepped around him, dragging Aubry behind her.

“What are you doing?” Aubry whispered.

“Winging it.” She stopped by the trio of men, all too aware of Grant watching her. “Hi, Daniel. Quinn. Adam.” They raised their beers.

Daniel looked over her shoulder with a frown. “Is that your piece-of-shit ex-boyfriend I see?”

“The very one.” She disentangled her arm from Aubry’s. “Speaking of, I need a favor.”

“Anything for you, kid.”

She tried not to roll her eyes at him calling her kid. He was a whole seven years older than her. Not exactly ancient. “Actually, it’s not you I need the favor from.” Before she could talk herself out of it, she sidled up to Adam and put her arms around his neck. To his credit, he didn’t shove her on her butt in the dirt, merely raising his eyebrows. Jules kept her voice low so there was no chance of Grant overhearing. “So as you’ve noticed, my ex is watching me really closely right now, and I might have told him a tiny white lie about me dating someone in order to avoid a devastating dose of humiliation. And since I can’t date Daniel and no one would ever believe I’d date Quinn—”

The man in question frowned. “You really know how to hit a man where it hurts, Jules.”

“—that leaves you.”

Adam’s face remained impassive. “I see.”

There wasn’t a whole lot to work with in those words, but he also had let his free hand drift down to settle on her hip, so she just kept talking. “If you could just play along and maybe kiss me like you want to do filthy things to me in the bed of your truck, I’d really appreciate it.”

If anything, his eyebrows rose higher. “That guy really got under your skin, didn’t he?”

“You have no idea.” Next to them, Daniel made a sound suspiciously like a growl, but neither of them looked over. Adam’s hand pulsed on her hip, the heat of it shocking despite the warmth of the night. His calluses dragged over the sensitive skin bared by her T-shirt, and she shivered. Maybe this was a terrible idea. She didn’t have time to really reconsider, though, because he set down his beer, cupped the back of her neck, and dealt her the single most devastating kiss of her life.

No, not a kiss.

He took possession of her mouth, his tongue tracing the seam of her lips and then delving inside. Holy Moly… I need a Websters Garage in my town. Marie Harte’s new sizzling hot series, Body Shop Bad Boys is guaranteed to rev your motor.

The mechanics at Websters Garage are more than grease monkeys. They are a close knit group of friends that live life in the fast lane and put a good chunk of quarters in the cuss jar. Johnny Devlin is the ladies man. He’s a known player but is starting to feel like the game is getting old. He’s found a girl he would like to have some one on one time with and see where it can go. The problem is that this girl knows Johnny’s moves and wants nothing to do with him. He’s a great guy but not the guy for her. She’s too busy trying to get her nursing degree while working at Ray’s Bar.

Johnny grew up watching women come and go in his father’s life. He’s never had a positive role model where relationships are concerned. He’s learned a lot about women but nothing about relationships. Although he seems light hearted there are multiple layers to his personality. He has issues but he also has promising potential. It will be up to Lara to take a chance on that potential. Once she opens her eyes and looks beneath the surface she’s going to be in for a great surprise. It’s time to take Johnny Devlin for a test drive.

Test Drive was a very good book. It may seem a bit slow in the beginning but stick with it. Marie Harte builds a sexy, romantic story with a slow burn. She gives her characters depth and makes the relationship realistic. It’s not insta love which to me was very refreshing.

Not only did Test Drive build a enchanting romance, it also opens the doors for this new series. The guys from the garage, Foley and Sam, are interesting characters. The humor and repore between the guys is downright fun. I am looking forward to watching these grease monkeys fall head over heels.

COLD HEARTED by Toni Anderson is described as a book of interest for fans of shows like CSI or Criminal Intent, which I am. The book seemed like something that would be just what the doctor ordered to keep my TBR well-rounded, while introducing me to an author whose work I was not familiar with, and, I have to say, I am very happy that I took the opportunity. Toni has plotted a realistically gritty story, complete with dedicated but damaged detective Erin Donovan, mysterious and charismatic FBI agent Darsh Singh, and enough red herrings to keep the reader guessing up until the big reveal.

The attraction between Erin and Darsh practically jumps off the pages. Both are strong-willed, capable, and experts at their respective jobs. They’re also like a powder keg waiting to explode, deny it though Erin does. With the heat between the two of them intertwined with a plot that grabbed me from the opening paragraph, kicking off a story that I knew would be an action-packed mind game, COLD HEARTED was just the book that I was looking for.

Toni writes Erin, Darsh, and all of the characters wonderfully well, giving each a depth and complexity that makes them a pleasure to read, and has brought vividly to life a college campus held in the sway of an unknown menace that will make them question everything that they thought they knew.

Although this is the sixth book in the Cold Justice series, and the of Toni’s books that I have read, it does perfectly well as a standalone. Being the engrossing and tightly-written read that it is, COLD HEARTED is an easy 4.5 stars for me, and I look forward to reading more of Toni’s books in the future.

Everywhere and Every Way by Jennifer Probst is the first book in her new Billionaire Builders series. This book is a great opening for the dynamic Pierce brothers to finally bury the hatchet, rebuild their family relationships, and construct a new life of love and happiness.

Caleb Pierce was left with all the responsibilities of the Pierce Brothers Construction Company after his two younger brothers turned their backs on the family. Their father was a very hard man and after the death of their mother he became even harder on his sons. These actions not only destroyed his sons but also put a wedge between them. When Christian Pierce dies from a heart attack, the natural assumption is that Caleb Pierce will inherit the business or be able to buy his brothers shares out. He underestimated his father’s cruelty. His father’s will left very specific instructions for Pierce Brothers Construction Company that may either destroy what is left of his boys or bring them back together.

The Pierce brothers are not happy men. Their business is in the trouble and they each have a different idea on how to make the company successful. They are losing clients left and right. There is only one client that can give them the kind of business they need to bail out the company. First they have to build her house within six months. It is an almost impossible task.

Caleb and Morgan are doing more than butting heads. She may be a hard core business woman but she earns his respect. Soon their chemistry goes beyond the construction site and they begin building a new relationship that could last a life time. First they have to build a house without killing one another. Secondly they have to learn to give and take. Thirdly they have to win the hearts of the other Pierce brothers. All their futures are linked together.

This book laid the ground work for this new series. There was quite a bit of discord and angst throughout the book. The Pierce brothers have some hardcore issues with one another that sets the tone for the series. The push and pull relationship between Pierce and Morgan was a bit dragged out but once they started becoming a team it was magical. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series.

Who says “The Boom” is reserved for Mayson men? June Mayson would disagree. When she met Evan Barrister her heart exploded. When Evan Barrister had divorce papers served to her, her heart shattered. Sometimes “The Boom” is more than an explosion of the heart, it can shatter the heart. June Mayson is a casualty of “The Boom”. The only thing she can do is move on or become a lesbian. Neither seems to be the right choice for her battered heart. Her Daddy or her uncles can’t fix whats been broken. Only time can.

June Mayson has a problem picking the wrong men. With a destroyed marriage behind her , she has moved on. The only problem is that she’s picked another loser. This time around the loser almost landed her in jail. He has put her life in danger and now her dad and the Mayson crew have to step up and protect her. What she didn’t count on was her ex husband being a part of that crew. Her heart is in even more danger.

Evan Barrister married June Mayson when he was a naive young man. He didn’t anticipate the military and war turning him into a man he can’t recoginize in the mirror.
