New York Times bestselling author of the Knights of Fury MC series Chantal Fernando is back with trouble in the form of a renegade.
Good girl Isabella wouldn’t miss the birth of her sister’s baby for the world. So when her car breaks down and one of the bikers next door offers her a ride to Vegas, it’s too tempting to pass up. Besides, she can think of worse travel conditions than wrapping her arms around Renny, otherwise known as Renegade.
Tall, dark and handsome, the man is pure sex on a Harley.
Between wild parties and rumbling motorcycles, living next to the Knights of Fury MC has always left Isabella curious, but after a night in Vegas, she gets a firsthand taste. Drinks in the club surrounded by burly bikers soon turns into a series of daring decisions, which don’t seem so bad until she wakes up the next morning. Married. To Renny.
Could she be more of a cliché?
Nothing complicates an annulment like lingering temptation, especially when Isabella and Renny give in to their need, putting their marriage where their mouths are. But as Isabella learns what outlaw life is really like, she’ll have to decide if she’s in love with a biker—or in over her head.

Michel’s Review
Renegade by Chantal Fernando is the second book in Knights of Fury MC series. Although this is a biker series, it has more of a milder tone rather than the darker themed activities that are in most MC books. Renegade is more of a charming boy next door romance with a little of drama and suspense added in to make the story a bit more intriguing.
Izzy has lived next door to the Knights of Fury MC and has never had any issues with them. When her sister goes into labor, she is in a rush to get to her. Her car breaks down and her neighbors, The Knights step in. They rescue her and take her to her sister so she doesn’t miss the birth of her niece. Thus begins the courtship of Izzy and Renny.
This charming romance had the right amount steam and the right amount of swoon. It may not be the most intense romance or thrilling MC romance but it did leave me with a big smile and happy heart.
Chantal Fernando always delivers a romance that warms the soul.

Publication date: November 21st 2019
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance, Young Adult
Olivia Brooks has been able to keep her life in Sugar Mill, Louisiana held perfectly together, far away from the small town where she grew up. Even though her past still haunts her, she has found a perfect process of surviving, until a string of events brings Luke Plaisance to Sugar Mill and turns her organized life upside down.
While Olivia fights to hold on to the life she’s created, unraveling it may be exactly what it takes for her to truly survive. She must accept her past in order to live, or let it threaten the only future she’s ever wanted. Because some secrets can’t stay buried… and shouldn’t.
An inspiring and heartbreaking tale of abandonment, survival, and purpose. A harrowing journey of self-discovery and perseverance.

Michel’s Review
Two Thousand Lines is the first book I have read by author Michelle Jester. This edgy YA novel touches upon topics of abuse and may have emotional triggers. The title of the book is taken from the punishments Olivia received from an early age. Mr. Melvin, her abusive stepfather, did everything in two thousands.
The storyline flashes back from the past to the present. Readers witness the disturbing abuse Olivia has to endure throughout her youth while trying to overcome the past in the present.
Olivia meets her neighbor’s grandson Luke after her death. Luke has heard all about Olivia through letters from his grandmother. Although he felt like he knew a lot about Olivia there was so much more that the words in the letters could describe. He wants to get to know her better and build a friendship but knows Olivia still needs time to heal from her past.
The author paints a vivid picture of Olivia’s life and has the reader wanting Olivia to overcome her past and grasp a happy life. This is Olivia’s story of survival and the courage to move on.
At times the story was a bit confusing and the pacing was a bit off but overall I was thoroughly involved with this gripping, heartbreaking story.

Excerpt
When I finally come face to face with the street artist standing on the side of the pavement, his guitar case open and full of rolled-up notes and change, I understand why his grandfather told me I’d recognize him with the self-assurance of an avid believer.
I’ve never seen someone like him before.
He is beautiful, true, but that’s not what stands out to me. He is radiant.
It’s like his presence has a presence. He sucks the air out of everything in his vicinity, making it impossible not to look at him. Malachy is tailor-made for a huge, colossal heartbreak. Everything about him—his tattered jeans, filthy boots, white shirt, and leather jacket that was broken in decades ago—screams trouble. He looks like a seventies heartthrob. An icon. A Terry Richardson muse. Bruce Springsteen pre-fame.
His voice is like honey and warm spices. It lulls me into a place in my mind I’ve never been before, even though it’s far from beautiful. It is gruff, throaty, and smoky. When someone bumps my shoulder to get closer to him, I snap out of my reverie and realize what I’m listening to.
“One” by U2.
The coincidence is strange. I try to tell myself it’s nothing. This is Ireland. U2 is a national treasure.
His eyes are squeezed shut as he sings. It’s like no one exists other than him and his guitar. Something warm rushes through my skin, like a heat wave, and I shudder in delight.
Warmth.
I always thought there was something melancholy about street performers—the way people walk past them, ignoring their music, their art, their passion. But this guy, he’s the one doing the ignoring. The tables have turned. He’s got the crowd eating from the palm of his hand. Every woman here is under a thick, sweet spell. He’s got that Harry Styles quality that makes girls want to bed him and older women want to adopt him. The men are a cross between impatient, annoyed, and jealous. You can see it in the way they tap their feet, check their watches, nudge their wives and girlfriends to move it.
The song ends, and Malachy Doherty cracks his eyes open and stares directly at me, like he knew I’d be here. Like he watched me watching him through closed eyes. Disoriented—and for some reason wanting to do something, anything—I throw a bill into his guitar case and look away, realizing to my horror that I threw the fifty euros his grandpa gave me. Everyone around me murmurs and whistles. They think it was intentional. I can feel my face flaming red. I bet he thinks I want to sleep with him.
Do I? Probably. But should he know that? Hell no.

“Sometimes you meet people who are out of this world, so you make them a part of yours.”
In the Unlikely Event is a brand new and unique story by LJ Shen. This story is nothing like what you’d expect from the beloved LJ but I can promise that it will still leave you with all the feels.
This book is angsty, beautiful, honest and raw which makes it so special and memorable. It was witty, funny and sometimes unusual too. Together these things created a recipe for a wonderful and unforgettable story.
Mal and Rory met 8 years ago and made a promise. If they ever ran into one another again in the future, they’d marry regardless of what their current status was in life.
Mal and Rory will go down as one of the most memorable couples in book history. Their chemistry was hot but their communication was not! There were times where I yelled at my Kindle but I wouldn’t trade those feelings for anything. Mal and Rory were true soulmates and I loved watching their insane story unfold.
This book is multi-POV giving readers multi-views of characters. I loved that all the characters had their own flaws and revelations that came to light throughout the story. Some of the POV’s were just odd. A cow? A napkin? A Candy bar? However odd it seemed; it brought much needed lightness to the story.
This book is a second chance romance, but its more than that. It really is its own genre of uniqueness. Leigh branched out of her comfort zone in a big way and it worked out very well for her. I look forward to seeing what she has in store for us next!
5 stars!

Michel’s Review
Whenever Emma Scott releases a new book I know I am getting more than a good romance novel, I am getting an emotional experience. Someday Someday goes beyond the struggles of being a gay man in today’s world trying to create a happy life. It’s about excepting oneself, understanding self limitations, and striving to be the best human one can possibly be. It also about the importance of family, whether their impact is negative or positive. It molds a part of who we are and our individual self identities.
Max and Silas are more than gay men struggling to find their happily ever after. They are struggling to rise above self perceptions and become better people. They want to make our world a better place. Together they find the strength through the love for one another.
It’s hard to put into words the beauty of this story. It’s not about one’s sexuality but rather about one’s humanity. The epic love story is just the bonus.
I highly recommend Someday Someday by Emma Scott. It is a beautiful reading experience!

Thorn is the first book in a new series by Tracy Lorraine. This is a bully romance/ enemy to lovers story and is centered in a high-school environment.
Amelie finds herself living in the U.S with her grandmother after the death of her parents. Determined to focus on school and not draw attention to herself as a new student, Amelie soon finds that’ll be impossible after star quarterback, Jake Thorn notices her presence. Immediately disliking her, he is determined to make her life hell. Jake is cruel and will go to any length to humiliate and torture the new girl from across the pond.
Jake Thorn… what can I say, he’s hot and he’s mean. He’s the guy you want to hate but just know underneath all the cruelness he just wants to be loved. There’s so much going on within his life that you can’t help but turn from hating this jock jerk to feeling for him.
As the story progresses you learn quickly that Amelie is strong. She will not cower. I loved watching her stand up for herself against Jake.
The chemistry between these to was palpable. I enjoyed watching their interaction as the story progressed.
I enjoyed this story and thought it was a well written bully romance/enemies to lover’s romance. The storyline was solid, and all the characters had depth and their own personalities that made them realistic for readers. It’ll have you feeling a variety of emotions as the story unfolds. Angsty, raw and real this story is worth the read.

Little did I know he was also the cruelest.
I went from starstruck to stunned the moment his cynical eyes cut through me.
I can’t tell you what it was that made him want to punish me. But from that day forward the brooding recluse of a man made it his goal to torment me.
I want to loathe him, and some days, I do.
But good or bad, nobody’s attention has ever tasted so sweet.
What do you do when you have a hate crush on your bully?
Worse yet, what do you do when he’s also your teacher?

Excerpt:
There’s something about Stella that makes me believe she will always go the extra mile to seek approval from those with authority. I can see it every time she looks at me. And before the end of the hour, I’ve made up my mind. In the past, I picked easy, obvious targets for my projects. Without fail, they failed me. They couldn’t withstand the expectations of their peers and their family and the machine that is Loyola Academy.
But Stella won’t fail. I feel it deep in my gut. A spark of hope that I haven’t had with any of the others. A want I haven’t experienced since my own college days. I will push her harder than I’ve pushed anyone else before her, and she will cling to hold onto herself in the face of any storm I might bring her way. I will open her eyes to the realities of this world. And in the end, she will despise me for my ruthlessness, but she will be grateful.
Stella LeClaire, welcome to my final project.

“Cruelty is just pain’s gatekeeper”
Hate Crush is a bully romance/forbidden romance story by A. Zavarelli and the first book I’ve read by this author. As soon as I heard it was a bully romance, I knew I had to read it. Overall, I enjoyed this story but feel that there was some disconnect between the characters at times which made the relationship they were having seem forced.
Stella is new to Loyola Academy. She hails from a family of coldness and there is no love lost between her and her mother. When she finds herself the new girl with the target on her back, she takes comfort knowing she has one true friend in Sybil. Grappling with the changes and uncertainties in her life, things quickly change when she catches the eye of Sebastian Carter, her new teacher. Super-hot and arrogant, he seems to have it out for her and is destined to make her feel as unwelcomed and uncomfortable as possible in his classroom but outside of the classroom he can’t get enough of her.
This story follows the Stella and Sebastian. There is lots of hate between these two but lots of chemistry also. I loved the Stella was strong yet vulnerable when it came to Sebastian. He truly was her kryptonite. Sebastian was arrogant and alpha. Very dominant and often callous with Stella. There was a lot of depth to him and as the story progressed, we really saw the demons he was facing within.
Overall this is a good story. I like the bully romance/forbidden romance element and enjoyed the storyline.
