A Beta’s Haven is a lovely novella that gives you a look back at character’s we have already gotten to know.

Jasper, Willow and Brie are back and we get to see a little bit of what their day to day life is like. Jasper is tired and in need of a bit of a break and so Willow steps in to help out. One of the best things about this Novella is the glimpse of Cailin’s future. This novella is a great addition to the Redwood Pack series.

Sharing You by Molly McAdams is part of the Sharing You series. This series is based off the friendship three young men formed in the Army. This is the story of their lives after they have finished serving. Each book is a novella featuring a different couple. Each book can be read as a stand alone.

Sharing You is going to evoke many different reactions from readers. It is a controversial book that may offend some people. With that said, I want to emphasize that this book is very well written. The story flows beautifully. The characters are very real and capture the reader’s attention. The reader can feel their emotions, good and bad. Their heartache is very real and makes the reader ache right along with them. Molly McAdams knows how to write a highly emotional story that will bring tears to your eyes. Although the subject matter was one of my “ick” factors I found I could not put this book down. After reading the first two novella’s in this series I wanted to see where Brody Saco’s life was heading. I understood how he had to step out of his value system to grasp the one chance of happiness. He tried to do everything right, follow the rules, follow his conscience, but sometimes it is the heart that must be followed.

Brody has finally found his piece of happiness in life. This happiness may destroy him and Kamryn in the process.

I can’t say any more without giving away too many spoilers. I will say that although this book is not your perfect romance and touches on some very hard lines, I think most reader’s will understand where the author was coming from and why she had to allow these characters to experience this life. I know we all know that sometimes there are “exceptions” to the rules. I commend Molly McAdams for being brave enough to write this story.

Michel’s Review

This is the first book I have read by author Lynne Jaymes. I was pleasantly surprised. One True Thing has a very fresh plot and outtake on a very real social problem. Sadly this very real problem will go on through the end of time in some way or another.

This is going to be a hard review to write without giving away spoilers.

Tyler Branch has always dreamed of being a professional baseball player. He has diligently worked hard for his accomplishments on and off the field. He is recruited by Garvin State University to play for their baseball team. It is the opportunity he has been hoping for. He will get more recognition and exposure to scouts for the major leagues. Garvin State is in the heart of Texas in a very small town. The people there are stuck in their ways, clinging to the past, and very judgmental. Being from a San Francisco, a very progressive city, it is hard for Ty to grasp their views on life. He doesn’t want to rock the boat in any way that will ruin his chance at the Major Leagues. He vows to focus on school and baseball for the next two years. He will keep his views to himself, stay out of relationships, and keep his secrets buried deep. After all he needs to keep his eye on the ball. What he didn’t count on was Jenna Taylor, the beautiful dancer, who lives a few doors down from him. He didn’t count on an attraction and chemistry that would change the way he looked at life and love.

Jenna Taylor has always wanted to dance. She chose Garvin State over New York because of their outstanding dance department. She is from a very small town in Texas, where everyone knows your business as well as their own. She loves her roots as much as she loves the city. She wants to focus on her dreams without the hassles of being in a relationship that will go nowhere after college. She has been burned before and has no desire to put herself in that position again. As the two become more deeply involved his secrets become lies, the lies get out of hand. When a surprise visit blows the secret out of the water, not only will it ruin Ty’s relationship with Jenna, it may also ruin his chance at the Major Leagues.

Their story may shock some readers. Their story is very real and heartbreaking. It was very enlightening about how the world can be in some places. It is a story that was well written and had the reader sympathizing with Jenna and Ty’s plight.

I think Lynne Jaymes did a wonderful job with One True Thing. The only thing that would of made this story better is if the reader could of experienced more of the characters individual personalities to go along with the focus on their dilemma.

I would highly recommend this book.

As the two of them are thrown into close quarters sparks begin to fly and the sexual tension becomes so strong that neither one of them can stand it. If they act on their desires will it be a one time fling or do they have something real that can last forever?

I really enjoyed this novella. Sarah does a great job with character development and you cant help but fall in love with Hunter and Rosie. They both have history that they never shared with one another. I enjoyed seeing them find each other again for the first time. I am looking forward to reading more novels from Sarah Morgan.

Holy Hotness! Caite Fox is a strong and sexy alpha female unlike any I have ever seen.

This was my first Domina story and I loved it!

Caite Fox is good at what she does and when her supervisor becomes ill during her third trimester it is time for Caite to step up to the plate. The only thing stopping her from getting a home run is the big boss Jamison Wolfe. He is constantly yelling at everyone in the office and on the phone. He stays stressed out and assumes that his staff is truly unable to live up to his expectations.

Caite has had enough of Jamison’s crap. He makes a snarky comment about Caite’s work ethic and she lets him have it. Caite decides its time to cross the line and get Jamison to let go of his anger, stress, and anxiety. She does not want to lose her job but she knows its a matter of time before Jamison lets her go anyway so she takes a chance. She orders Jamison to give her pleasure and he does with getting nothing in return. When Caite truly takes control and Jamison is put into an awkward situation will he run from her or stick it out?

This story was smoking hot. It was awesome to watch Caite dominate Jamison. In the beginning it was very subtle and then got more and more obvious. This was my first Megan Hart read and I really enjoyed it. Caite is an amazing heroine and Jamison is an amazing lover and companion.

I really enjoyed this Cosmo Red-Hot Reads by Harlequin. It is a great way to read new authors and get a taste for their writing style without committing to a full novel. I enjoyed both these novellas and am looking forward to reading more books from Sara Morgan and Megan Hart.

Tracey’s Review

When I had the chance to read ‘Tempting the Ringmaster,’ I was not sure what to think. The idea of a contemporary romance about a circus ringmaster, well, it was intriguing. But would it work? Would it draw me in, or just be too darned outlandish to appeal to the average reader (me)?

Aleah Barley has done a great job with this book. The characters are engaging and unique, and the story was just different enough to really hook me. I was totally invested in the circus troupe, and the citizens of Buck Falls were great. From the beginning, the chemistry between Belle and Graham was sizzling, and, even though they couldn’t have been more different from each other, the possibility of them falling for each other was completely believable. After all, all Belle has ever wanted is a man that will love her for herself, not looking down on her because she is with the circus. And to Graham, having had to prove himself as a solid dependable guy just as worthy of respect as his brother, Belle is like a breath of fresh air, an exotic arrival in his otherwise ‘normal’ life.

There is a bit of insta-love that takes place, given the short time frame of the events, but it didn’t take away from the story. I found myself thoroughly engrossed in seeing how things would unfold for Graham, Belle, and the rest of the Black Shadow Circus crew, and the twist of intrigue that was presented made the read even more interesting. A very satisfying 4-stars, and I look forward to more books by Aleah Barley.

I truly adored this story. Melody Anne wrangled me in from the very start. She writes characters full of spunk and charm that just melt your heartstrings. Hidden Treasure is a beautifully sassy and fun love story that will have you laughing one moment and you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what is going to happen next.

Poor Brielle drew the short stick. She tried to live without her father’s money and fell flat on her rear. Her father had decided to teach her and her brothers a lesson and cut off their inheritance and gave them the pick of five failing businesses to run. Well Brielle was having none of that so she walked out and managed to survive for a year without Daddy’s help until the place where she was working got shut down. She was so broke by the time she contacted her Dad all she had was enough money for bus fare. Since she walked out when the business opportunities were passed out all she got to chose from was what was left. What was left was a dilapidated Montana Ranch. Lets just say that stilettos and manure don’t mix really well.

The first bit of trouble that Brielle runs into is a solid hunk of man named Colt Westbrook. Talk about holy hotness. Colt is in the running for 2014 book boyfriend status. He is a man’s man with the abs and arms that let you know that the man knows how to put in a hard days work. Colt was really disappointed when Richard Storm swooped in and bought that property for one of his kids to fix up and when he meets Brielle he thinks he has her figured out and starts counting the days until she gives up and just sells him her ranch. The one thing Colt did not know is that you can never underestimate the Storms. Brielle may have been a pampered and spoiled brat but she will do anything it takes to make her father proud and to prove to everyone that she is more than what she appears to be.

I loved the push and pull between Colt and Brielle. He was hooked on her like a fish to a pole. She lit a fire inside of him that drove him crazy. The only problem is that Brielle begins to trust Colt and let him in a little bit like no one before. She automatically assumed when she ran into Colt that he worked for her. That is very far from the truth and Colt does not seem in any hurry to correct her assumption. The problem is what will she do when she finds out her trusted ranch hand is actually her very wealthy neighbor.

I am very excited and looking forward to the next book in this series. It is so nice to see the Anderson and Storm elders meddling again in the lives of their kids. A job well done Melody Anne. I loved it.

“I hate it here!” she shrieked, feeling like a fool but not caring. She hadn’t been at the ranch for five minutes and already her world was crumbling. “Spiders, cobwebs, rocks, dirt, grime, and who knows what else! Lions and tigers and bears…”

Her angry tears soon stopped, but Brielle was still in a foul mood as she sat there trying to breathe normally. After a few moments, she pulled herself together. Wasn’t she better than this? When she heard the crunch of footsteps behind her, she grimaced, not wanting to deal with anyone or anything else right then.

Whipping her head around, she got ready to tell whoever it was to go away when her tongue got stuck on the roof of her mouth. When the person who’d invaded her privacy spoke, she felt even more disoriented.

“May I help you?”

Brielle couldn’t seem to find her voice. Since she was still sitting on the ground, the man standing before her was so tall, he seemed to block out the sun. His boots looked old, his jeans dusty — like that truck — and the shirt plastered to his chest had seen better days. Brielle tilted her neck all the way back to examine his face, which was shadowed by the brim of his faded cowboy hat.

“Are you real?” she asked.

When his lips tilted up in a sardonic smile, she thought for a moment that she might be fantasizing. No, not likely. Where she was from, girls never fantasized about cowboys — she preferred a man in a suit. Still, she had to admit, if only to herself, that the guy towering over her was one hell of a hot piece of man candy.

And then he spoke again. “You must be Brielle Storm. I’m Colt Westbrook.”

4.5 Stars. Sweet Thing, the first novel published by Renee Carlino, rightfully earned a spot on my list of favorite novels for 2013. I found the main characters to be refreshing and connected with them instantly, which made Sweet Thing an extremely satisfying read. I appreciate the opportunity to review an advanced reader copy of the new contemporary romance from Renee Carlino, Nowhere but Here, which has been provided to me by her publisher through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Kate Corbin no longer has any living relatives. She has struggled since the death of Rose, a childhood friend of her mother who ended up raising her. Her mother passed away when she was eight without telling her the name of her father. She is currently going nowhere in a relationship with Stephen, who doesn’t seem to love her or even care about what is going on in her life. Kate has turned to a homeless man who calls himself “Just Bob” for advice, whose first piece of advice to her was, “You’re all you’ve got!”

Kate has lost all motivation for her career as a journalist and has struggled with her job for several months. Her boss at the Chicago Crier newspaper, Jerry, gives her an assignment with substance, hoping to ignite her spark. She is to spend a week in Napa, California, to interview and write an article about R.J. Lawson, the reclusive owner of a vineyard. This interview has been highly sought after by journalists, yet none could obtain it until now. R.J. Lawson is a billionaire – a computer engineering prodigy who made all of his money in the technology industry.

Upon arrival at the vineyard, Kate has an automobile accident, running her rental car straight into a truck driven by a handsome work hand and maintenance man named Jamie. After her accident, Jamie sends her off to her interview with a warning that R.J. can be difficult to deal with. Kate ends up in an argument with R.J. Although Jamie continues to work very hard while she is there, he makes time for Kate and is focused on her needs. When the two of them are together, their personalities just seem to spark. It doesn’t take long for Jamie and Kate to begin developing feelings for each other. As they start to open their hearts up to one another, Kate begins to realize that Jamie is holding back information about himself. And then he disappears without a word of explanation.

Nowhere but Here is more than just a contemporary romance. It is a story of self-discovery – about realizing how much you really do have as an individual, making the best of your own situation, and finding your own place in this world. In this novel, Renee Carlino focuses on gratitude and healing, the concept of discovering who your family really is, and learning to believe in the power of love. It is full of underlying lessons which made this love story even more special for me. It is obvious that Renee Carlino completed some extensive research before writing this novel – research which assisted in making this a unique, creative and interesting story. If you are looking for a beautifully written contemporary romance, I recommend Nowhere but Here!
