I looked at the windows past him, trying to distract myself. Lights flashed and swirled around the dance floor in time to the beat, the only part of the music which made it into the sanctuary of the bubble room. I could tell it was crowded, but I couldn’t make out faces the way they could probably make out ours. “I don’t know if anyone’s looking,” I said.

“Don’t worry about them. Just focus on what you’re doing.”

Easy for him to say. He wasn’t facing them. He was only looking at me.

Nope. I couldn’t think about that either. Just had to focus on the task at hand.

I closed my eyes. “So just pretend that I… That we are… That under my dress…” I couldn’t even say it.

Weston leaned forward and murmured near my ear. “Yes, pretend that under your dress you are not wearing any panties. I have my dick out. I’m working you, and you are showing me exactly how you like it. Now go.”

Just like that, my panties were damp.

I didn’t know if he was saying those things to loosen me up or to get a rise out of me, either was possible.

Whatever his intent, it did the trick. He set the scene. I felt my face flush like the women in the videos as I imagined him rubbing his crown against my slit before nudging his tip inside and then burying himself to the hilt.

I opened my mouth in a silent gasp, acting out how I was sure it would feel. Good. It would feel so good.

This was so…weird. So hot and sexy and arousing and weird.

I spread my thighs a little wider and braced my knees against the bench so I could swing my pelvis all the way forward, in and out, in and…

Oh.

I froze. “Is that—?” But I didn’t have to ask. There was most definitely a fat, thick ridge pressed against the crotch panel of my panties. I guess that answered the question of whether he was feeling it too.

My eyes flew open. “Oh my God!”

We thought that we knew Weston King. After all, we’d seen plenty of him in previous books in the Dirty Sexy world born from the deliciously dirty mind of author Laurelin Paige. But, y’all, I’m telling you, there is so much more to Mr. King than we could have guessed.

I have been waiting to get my hands on DIRTY SEXY PLAYER, the book that shines the light on the relationship between Weston and his, erm, fiancee, Elizabeth Dyson. Finally, finally we get the low down, and it is just as twisted, just as much a mind game, and just as blisteringly hot as we’ve come to expect from Laurelin.

And, there I was, happily reading, just sure that I knew exactly how things were going to go down, when WHAM, Laurelin sneaked up behind me and virtually threw me over that cliff. To say that I was surprised is an understatement, and now I cannot wait to get my grabby little hands on DIRTY SEXY GAMES, the conclusion of this story.

Should you read DIRTY SEXY PLAYER, you ask? Yes, you absolutely should, because a) this book is sooooo good, and b) Weston, Elizabeth, and all of the other characters from this series. But don’t say that you haven’t been warned, because that ending, well, it’s something, and you’re going to want to throw something when you get there. But you do not want to miss this story, or what’s coming next, so make sure to grab this one now. You will not be sorry.

EXCERPT:

Stella Lilith used to have an adventurous side, but I think it’s been a while since she broke a few rules. “Will you climb out first?”

There’s my girl. “Yep.” I press down on the sink, hoping it doesn’t fall off the wall. It looks old, so I’m not sure it can hold my weight. But it’s getting louder in the hall, so I climb up, grabbing an exposed pipe above the window, and maneuver my legs through the opening. Good thing we’re on the ground level. Pushing off, I land on my feet in the alley and turn around. “Stella?”

She peeks out and by the way her lips are twisted and her eyes are looking at the cement, she’s nervous. “I don’t want to fall.”

“I’d never let you. Not to the ground anyhow.”

For a second, she looks confused, but her brow relaxes and a small smile appears. “You’ll catch me?”

“Every time.”

She disappears, and I can hear her climbing onto the sink. Her legs slide out the window until her ass rests on the metal sill. “Ready for me, Rivers?”

“All my life.”

“For real,” she says, her nerves causing a slight shake to her tone. “You’re going to catch me, right?”

“Always.” I take her by the ass, and say, “Put your legs over my shoulders.”

“What? No.”

“Yes. I’ve got you. Then all I have to do is back up as you slip out.”

“I’m not as light as I used to be. Are you sure you can handle me?”

I work my way under her so her legs are over my shoulders. “Don’t worry about me, baby. I can handle you all right.”

Her thighs squeeze my neck. I like to think it was the name I slipped in there, but it’s probably because she’s anxious to do this. She slips out a little more, and our eyes meet. “You’re sure you’re ready?”

“All you have to do is let go. I have you.”

Releasing the pipe, she ducks her head to the side while I support her back with my hands, holding her until she clears the glass. Helping her upright, my face is against the jeans that cover her vagina and she’s squeezing my head with her legs so tight I don’t know if I’m going to live. What a sweet fucking way to die.

I love a rocker romance, and author S.L. Scott has shown more than once that she knows how to do them, and to do them right. With the Crow Brothers series, Suzie introduced us to some new guys to love (and, heck yeah, I get to see more of my beloved Jack Dalton!), a band of brothers with their stories to tell. And, while each of them are wonderful in their own way, I think that we all kind of knew that it was this man, this brother, that was going to do us in. To break our hearts, and remake them, draw us in and make us love him. And he did.

We knew he was coming. There were glimpses, clues to who Rivers Crow was, in the books about his brothers Jet and Tulsa. But, even as I was reading, and knowing that Suzie writes angst and joy with equal measure, I was sucked right in and surprised at every turn as Rivers’s and Stella’s story unfolded. With her usual expert storytelling and depth of emotion, Suzie has written a book that put me through every emotion, and had me hoping that this second-chance love story would end the way that I wanted it to.

RIVERS is billed as a standalone, as are the other books in the series, but reading them all is the best way to get a real picture of the personalities and relationships that make these brothers the men that they are. Fans of S.L. Scott, of second chances at love, and anyone that loves an emotional and heartfelt story will love RIVERS. Make sure to add this special book to your MUST BE READ list today.

“You’re adorable when you blush.” Adam grinned.

“Thank God,” I drawled. “That was my life goal. Be adorable. Now, I can get it in neon lights over my bed.”

Since making romantic comedies her main jam, author Emma Hart is absolutely killing it. Smart and spunky heroines with plenty of sass, smart, sexy, and inevitably long-suffering heroes, and storylines that leave me highly entertained, there is nothing not to love about these books. FOUR DAY FLING, the latest from Emma, is a riot, a sexy, funny, steamy read that hooked me from the very first page.

The thing that makes this story so delicious, I think, is that Poppy shares a lot of personality with her creator. This is someone that I would love to spend time with, because I know, without a doubt, that she’d have me laughing about 95 percent of the time. Poppy wears her individuality well, and it’s laugh-out-loud funny to read about her shenanigans.

I absolutely adore Adam, too. I mean, brains, hot as all get-out, and a trophied hockey player to boot? Sign me up. And, incidentally, I’m with Poppy, and would probably have had no earthly idea who this man was. All the better to get to know the real him, right?

FOUR DAY FLING made my week, and is an easy 4.5 star read for me. If you’re looking for a book that will leave you smiling, this is it, so grab your copy and enjoy.

I closed the drawer. “This is extraordinary.”

“It is. But don’t uncork any of the bottles. Oddly, the scents are still potent. Five years ago we were doing research on them when the box disappeared. Then, as we now know, it found its way into the auction.” He pointed to one. “I can attest to the fact that this bottle contains fumes with some kind of hallucinogenic properties. I experienced a wild vision when I made the mistake of taking a sniff.”

Something about the box, the stones on top, the thick glass bottles, the iron corners, even the drawer, gave me pause. As if it were familiar, yet not. The feeling had started back in the shop, before the theft, while it had sat on the counter. There’d been no time to explore those feelings before all the excitement intervened.

But now—

A thought raced through my brain.

Somehow I knew that there should be vellum labels affixed to the bottom of each bottle. How? Why? I had no idea. Only that it was true. I gently touched one of them, then stopped and looked at Antoine. “May I take it out, if I don’t open it?”

He nodded.

I had to see if I was right.

I lifted out the bottle. Underneath was a label. Discolored and deteriorated with age. A word, written in a sepia script, had faded but could still be read.

Belladonna.

I replaced the bottle and reached for another.

Even before I lifted it out I knew that under it would be Diospyros.

And I was right.

I removed a third, but before I could peek beneath it I heard the grating sound of stones being ground beneath the soles of shoes and turned to see a man leaping toward me. Antoine shoved the newcomer away, then shouted for me to grab the box and run. Before I could move, a booted foot made contact with my arm. Somehow, I kept hold of the bottle in my grasp, but I was driven down to the wet ground. I tried to recoil and go on the offensive but another blow found my brow.

Red hot pain exploded across my skull.

Then, nothing.

Tracey’s Review

THE MUSEUM OF MYSTERIES came up on my reading list at just the right time. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite sub-genres, and when you throw in the elements of time travel and magic, well, I am all in. Authors Steve Berry and M.J. Rose have teamed up to write a novella that blends characters from their respective book series and given readers a delicious and mysterious story.

Casseopeia Vitt is the kind of heroine that I can get behind. She’s smart, savvy, and completely unafraid to take risks to find the answers that she wants. I have not read any of author M.J. Rose’s books, but I can’t wait to get into them, because she really knows how to write my kind of lead female character. And, although we don’t get nearly enough time with Steve Berry’s Cotton Malone, I’d like to see more of him, and look forward to reading more of Mr. Berry’s work.

My only complaint here? THE MUSEUM OF MYSTERIES, an easy 4.5 stars for me, is too short! I could happily have read more about these characters and their experiences with the artifacts from the museum, and would love to see them all again. Lovers of all things mysterious and slightly to the left of explainable will enjoy this book very much, and I highly recommend it.

Rye actually debated on closing the distance between them, picking her up so that her legs wrapped around his waist, and carrying her back into her bedroom to love her the way she deserved until she collapsed into a deep sleep. But delaying the inevitable wouldn’t be good for either of them.

That wasn’t to say it wouldn’t have been a nice distraction. The sexual tension between them hadn’t been alleviated in the least during the past few months that they had begun seeing each other regularly. Hell, half the time they barely got in the door before their combined tangle of clothing was hitting the floor.

Rye would have given anything for tonight to have been in the same realm as their usual trysts. Unfortunately— and he hated to admit this— there were some things that were completely out of his control.

“Grace, I’m having Justin meet us at the police station tomorrow morning at eight o’clock.” Rye automatically stood when he saw the immediate tension settle in her shoulders. He should have chosen option A. To prevent himself from closing the distance between them, he crossed his arms and remained where he was to avoid the upcoming backlash. She would no doubt fight him on this decision, but he refused to have her become a target for Brad Manon’s killer. “We’re going to clarify our alibis with the police and amend our statements. Our lies—”

“You mean my lie, don’t you?” Grace unfolded her arms and took a step forward, her soft baby blues darkening as she harnessed the anger at his good intentions. “All you did was cover for me after you learned the truth. We should leave well enough alone. After all, I’ve been cleared. There’s no need to rock the boat needlessly.”

Rye grit his teeth at her stubbornness. Why was she always making things difficult between them? It hadn’t always been this way.

“You call being targeted by a killer being in the clear? Someone obviously knows that we gave false statements to the police.”

“And that someone’s plan backfired, so he or she is back to square one.”

“No, square one would have been you telling Detective Nielsen the truth that night.” Rye ran a hand through his hair in frustration before venturing into territory that was bound to be even more explosive than coming clean with the police, but he needed an answer to something. And he needed it now. “I’ve had enough of this cat and mouse game, Grace. Tell me the truth. Why are you so hell bent on protecting me when I don’t need it?”

He’s got Daisy with him when he approaches me in the park. I grin, reaching down to pet her because she’s not working right now and her eyes are so bright and happy that I can’t not.

“Thought you were gonna call me,” I say, fondling her ears and pointedly not looking at him.

“It’s such a pretty day,” he says, “Thought we could do this in person. Less miscommunication that way.”

I flick my hair out of my eyes and straighten, smirking at him. “What on earth could we possibly miscommunicate?”

He grins and lets his gaze skate over me. I didn’t dress up, just slid on some worn shorts and a tank top.

“You want me,” he says without missing a beat.

I arch an eyebrow. “I don’t want a relationship,” I say, point blank, because I don’t. I’ve spent too many years in a relationship and I’m not ready to go back to that. I’ve liked the freedom of not being tied to one person, to having my empty house and no one to judge me for leaving my books in a messy pile by the couch.

I want to fuck Matteo, have wanted that since he walked into my call room behind Miguel weeks ago, but I have no desire to put myself into another relationship.

He shifts closer, hands braced on my hips. His mouth is damn close to mine, hovering just a little as he says, “I didn’t say you did. I said you want me.”

“So?”

“So…” He licks his lips, the flick of his tongue making me want to press forward into him, lick him open. “Sex. No strings, just friends, scratching an itch.”

I blink at him. I didn’t expect that. I expected an argument, a you deserve better than this and you want a relationship or this is unhealthy.

I make a face, dismissing Jax and my mother’s voice. “No strings?”

“No strings,” he says, his voice slick and smokey, full of promise.
