As Annalise Taylor and Raphael Gibraldi grow closer, they continue to awaken feelings in each other that will lead them to focus their passion into becoming what they are destined to be. As Annalise opens herself to the passion that Raphael has ignited in her, she finds that she is growing in her art, putting everything into securing her place in the ballet company. Raphael, too, is changing. No longer content to put his dream on hold, and inspired by the fire that he feels when he is with Annalise, he decides to move forward with his plan to audition for the Company.

SECOND POSITION is just as hot as its predecessor, as Annalise and Raphael grow closer, and she allows herself to experience all of the passion that he is awakening in her. And as both grow closer to the realization of their respective dreams, they grow closer too to giving in to the desire that threatens to consume them.

THIRD POSITION, the last installment in the series, can’t come quickly enough. I cannot wait to see how the story ends, and what Melody has in store for Annalise, Raphael, and all of the supporting cast of characters that have made this series such an enjoyable read.

For Annalise Taylor, ballet is everything. Groomed from her earliest years to follow in the footsteps of her prima ballerina mother, Annalise is facing the possibility that she has peaked, and that, at 19, her future does not include a career as a famous dancer. On tour with her troupe in Rome, Annalise has one last chance to prove herself and gain the spotlight that she has trained for her whole life. Raphael Gibraldi has come to Rome to pursue his dream of dance, too. Determined to live the life he wants, he has left behind his family and home so that he can follow his passion.

Melody Grace has done it again with her new Dirty Dancing series. In FIRST POSITION, she has created two faces of the same coin in Annalise and Raphael. Annalise is all dedication and self-control, giving up everything in order to be the best and to satisfy her mother by becoming the star in her corps de ballet. Raphael is pure passion. Dance, for him, is a natural expression of his feelings, and counter everything that his family wants and expects. When the two of them meet, a spark is ignited, control meets passion, and both Annalise and Raphael are immediately changed.

Because this series is written in serial format, this was a shorter read, but no less engaging. I love the dynamic between Annalise and Raphael, how they each have things to teach and bring out in the other. Their chemistry is white-hot and immediate, and so palpable that it comes off the page. I cannot wait for SECOND POSITION, the second book in the series, so that I can see how Annalise’s and Raphael’s story continues.
