The motorcycles circled the stadium like gladiators, or maybe like men jousting on horseback in days gone by: charging at each other, daring each other, until eventually they were ringed around the outer fence, each preparing for their first jump.

Zef went first, blasting off the ramp, followed a split second later by Tucker in the opposite direction, and I was so certain they were going to crash in the middle, I screamed and closed my eyes.

Aimee squeezed my hand hard, causing me to wince. I opened my eyes just in time to see Kes leaping through a circle of fire, the flames glancing off his helmet.

On and on it went, higher, faster, closer. Sweat trickled down my body, pooling under my armpits, leaving me drenched and weak.

The engines revved and hummed, and then they all charged together, a flying tower of men, with Kestrel cartwheeling over the top of them.

The crowd screamed and clapped and cheered, and Aimee and I stood up, shrieking with them.

“Oh my God!” I yelled over the noise. “I nearly had a heart attack!”

Aimee laughed and wiped her eyes.

“Every time,” she whispered, her voice shaky. “Every time.”

I followed her back to the RV where the guys were peeling off their sweat-soaked leathers, standing in their underwear, huge smiles plastered across their faces.

Tucker scooped me up in a sweaty hug, his hot skin slick to the touch.

“You are amazing!” I said honestly, a relieved laugh breaking out of me. “Stinky, but amazing!”

He laughed loudly, his head thrown back, his eyes crinkling with happiness, and then he kissed me, deeply.

She may be out of his league but she is perfect for his bed.

Tera Hawkins is not a part of the carnie world. She has been brought up as a privileged princess. Her father is a powerful Senator with a sketchy past. Part of his sketchy past includes two brothers she never knew she had. She is determined to become a part of her brother’s lives and embrace the family her prestigious family doesn’t want to acknowlege. Getting to know her brother Kes opens a whole new world for Tera. She is getting to know his world and the people that are important to him. She didn’t count on Tucker McCoy, the charming daredevil rider.

Their lives may be worlds apart but the heart wants what the heart wants. You can’t pick who you fall in love with. The only thing you can do is find a way to make the impossible work. Tera and Tucker have a hard road to travel but the journey is worth every loving moment.

Once again Jane Harvey-Berrick wrote an emotional and exciting story. I was glued to the pages and experiencing the magic until the very end.

“Let’s make more good memories, baby.”

“Yes. Please,” I say, and my words land on his tongue as he kisses me tenderly. His mouth lingers over mine, my body coming alive, and I feel him breathing with me. Sometimes it feels as if he’s the only way I can breathe.

The authors of “Crimson Reign” and “Love, Life and Circumstance” have never been ones to shy away from digging deep to give their readers a story that pushes boundaries, makes the readers think and feel and clamor for more. Crimson Reign gave us the wickedly sexy vampire king and his angel in a paranormal world in upheavel. LLC gave us two men with a baby to care for in the South with all its prejudices. And now “Broken Oaths” gives us Ryan and Thierry, pushing the limits again with the story of a priest and a Navy Commander.

Thierry Donovan is a former Navy Commander falsely accused of treason and jailed in a super secure facility in solitary confinement. The only other people he sees are the guards who watch over him, including his friend A.J. who goes easy on the rules for the prisoner. Thierry has no outside contact until he asks for, and is sent, a priest, Father Ryan Flynn. Their connection is instant, but like anyone else whose life is tied up in the rules and restrictions of their chosen profession or current fall from grace, both try to deny what they feel.

We learn of their pasts right away. The opening chapters tell us why these men chose the path they did, and give us a glimpse of the obstacles they faced along the way. Thierry’s career and life have been destroyed by his imprisonment. Father Flynn’s profession is an effort to get rid of the sinner label he brought down on himself because of his and his foster brother’s teenage exploration of their growing attraction. Both hide behind these shields they use so effectively – for a while. Thrown together in the priest and penitent roles, they soon acknowledge that there is something more between them as they work to bring justice to Thierry and bring down the one who used him as a scapegoat in a treasonous plot. Their story is about learning to trust in themselves and in each other, never giving up on love no matter how hard the fight.

Orrin Hunt, Flynn’s foster brother, has loved Ryan since they were wayward teens who helped each other cope through the difficult nightmares they faced. He’s involved behind the scenes trying to find the truth behind Thierry’s imprisonment and as such, is the one who brings Father Flynn into Thierry’s life. Orrin’s love for Ryan has endured all these years, until he goes undercover in a local street gang and meets Jay Callahan, the young, smart mouthed leader of the group. Jay falls hard for Orrin, but Ryan is the white elephant in the room, the love Orrin has for Ryan a wall that blinds him to what’s staring him in the face. Their story is about letting go of the past and embracing the future, daring to take the risk for love.

And tying these two couples together is the intrigue, a plot very carefully constructed that makes the reader anxious to find out just exactly how the whole thing will be revealed. It builds like the walls of Thierry’s prison cell, brick by brick. And with four strong-willed characters, there is no doubt they will figure it out.

Unfortunately, the villains were the one area that let me down. Characterization and angst is definitely these authors’ strong suit and in this book the whole mystery was right up there with it. The plot was complex and excellently crafted, with all the characters’ actions and reactions to each other and to their situation adding to the edge of the seat reading experience. Until one particular scene that made me stop and go “Really?” I just didn’t buy it. With that one scene the villains, who up until then were wonderfully evil, became caricatures of themselves. That one scene weakened the intrigue, pushing it into campiness instead of suspense.
Everyday struggles for love, for recognition, for redemption made this book a winner, overcoming the problem with the villains. The love stories of Ryan and Thierry and of Orrin and Jay are well written and very realistic. They struggle with their feelings, each one questioning his worth, his actions, his heart. As they work through all the machinations of being together, we as readers realize right along with them that outer trappings don’t matter. It’s what’s in the heart that rules.

It was only two blocks and it was 3 AM Tokyo time, but for us it was hours earlier. I didn’t let go of her hand as I led her out of the club. I glanced down at Brook’s face and saw that her brow was knitted in a frown. I didn’t say anything as we walked through the hotel and took the elevator up to the 23rd floor. Both of our rooms were on this floor and I wondered if she’d want me to join her in hers. My heart thumped harder as we got closer to her room. I didn’t want to be presumptuous after all that had happened, but I desperately wanted more time with her. Exactly what had happened? I reminded myself that I still didn’t know. Outside her room, I took her shoulders and turned her toward me. I wanted to take her in my arms and kiss her breathless, but knew we needed to talk first. I raised my hand to her face and placed a whisper soft kiss on her luscious pink lips. When I drew away, her chin lifted toward my mouth for another kiss and I gave it to her. This one was longer, lingering, our lips playing with each other. My body sprung to life, but my heart still ached over the abyss we’d had between us. I needed it resolved before I could make love to her. My God. She tastes so good, all wine and sweetness. I felt my breath leave my body and fan over her face. Her eyes were closed as she raised her mouth toward mine, again. “Brook. I want more time with you. What do you want?” I felt her tremble in my arms and step up on tiptoe to press her mouth to mine again. I could feel desire flood through me. Jesus, it had been so long since I touched her. “Cade.” She said my name and it did something to me deep inside my soul. “I want you to come in with me.” Maybe it was my imagination but she sounded like she was begging and I wouldn’t be able to deny her, even if I didn’t want to do as she asked. I couldn’t help myself, my mouth swooped to open hotly over hers and her arms instantly went around my neck and into my hair. Oh, there it was. I felt those gorgeous hands tugging in my hair, to pull my mouth even closer to hers. I pressed her up against the hotel room door as I devoured her, my tongue seeking the deepest recesses of her mouth. I couldn’t get enough and my body strained against her, I pressed my hardness into her stomach and she moaned. I drug my mouth from hers and placed my forehead on hers, both of us panting wildly. I struggled to get control of my breathing and the urges that were surging through every nerve and sinew of my body. Brook pressed her card key into my hand and I reached behind her to put it in the slot. My mouth ghosted and licked at hers as I heard the door click and I pushed it open behind her. My arm went around her waist and I lifted her with me through the door and her arms and legs went around my body. “Oh God, Cade.” My arm still around her waist, the other one went underneath her bottom as I carried her into the room. I buried my face in her hair as I kissed her neck and shoulders. Trying to get in control of myself, I went to the bed and sat down with her still wrapped around me. I stroked her back. “Brook. I want you so much right now. So much. But baby, we should talk first.” I brought both of my hands into her hair and pulled her head back so I could look into her eyes. I nuzzled into her throat as I took a deep breath. “We need to talk,” I whispered against her skin. She shook her head as she buried her face in my shoulder, her hands stroking the back of my head. “Please, just make love to me. Just make love to me.” My body surged at her words, but I wanted to get her back into my life… not just into my bed and I told her so. I shook my head. “No Brook. Not until we talk. I pulled the cruiser into Jackie’s driveway. What the hell was wrong with me? It was only yesterday that I’d gotten her off and yet here I was, sitting unannounced in her driveway like a stalker.

If I’d thought it difficult to get her off my mind before, what had happened in the wine cellar had made it damn near impossible.

Everyone I’d talked to had said the same thing—that she’d turned down each and every cop or fireman that had asked her out. No one was sure if she was just trying to keep her personal life outside of the work environment or what, but I intended to find out. The insane pull between us didn’t leave me any other choice.

With a sigh, I unbuckled my seatbelt and glanced at the small bungalow. It was cute with white siding and black shutters. Hanging baskets of colorful flowers hung from hooks around the veranda and a kickass bicycle was leaning against the side of the house. That helped to explain why she had such a firm ass.

I opened the door to the cruiser when the front door of the house burst open, and Jackie stood there frozen, her hand held to her chest and such an expression of fear on her face that I bolted out of the car and up the front steps.

“What’s wrong?” I demanded as soon as I was in front of her.

“Wh-what are you doing here?” she asked in barely a whisper.

I relaxed a fraction once it was clear she was okay. “I figured you could use a lift to Don’s place for your car. Didn’t think you would’ve driven home last night.” I shrugged. “It’s been quiet today, so I popped by to see if you wanted me to drive you over.”

She released a pent-up breath and relief washed over her face. “Oh, thank God.”

I frowned and gripped her upper arms. “What’s going on? Everything okay?”

She glanced down at where my hands lay on her soft skin and looked back up to me, blinking twice. “It’s nothing. When I saw the cruiser in the driveway…never mind.” She shook her head.

I studied her for a moment. She was sexy just rolling out of bed with her hair thrown in a messy bun and last night’s make-up still on her face. “You sure?”

She nodded and her eyes flicked down to my hands once more. “Why are you always touching me whenever I see you?” Her voice had come out all breathy, not at all convincing me that she didn’t like my hands right where they were.

I grazed her collarbones with my thumbs, causing goose bumps to form on her skin. “I think you know exactly why.”

Welcome! I’m Elisabeth Grace, or El if you prefer, and I write New Adult Contemporary Romance.

I’d been an avid reader my entire life, but when I discovered romance novels during my first pregnancy I was hooked! Not sure if it was the hormones or the lack of a life that was headed my way once my daughter was born, but since then I’ve been devouring several romance books a week. I love nothing more than reading about some serious alpha males and a happily ever after.

Things you should know about me…

I live outside Toronto, Canada…eh. (Yes, it’s true. We Canadians say ‘eh’ A LOT.)

I’m a wife and mommy to two small children which I refer to as Little Miss and Mr. Magoo.

I own one cat spawned by the devil. Seriously. He’s as cute as they come but you’ve never met a meaner feline. In retrospect we should have named him, Lucifer. I have the scars to prove it.

I believe there’s no such thing as too much chocolate. Or popcorn. Or bread. Or potatoes. Yes, you guessed it…I’m a sugar and carb addict.

I hate running. Always have, always will. Unless David Gandy’s in the vicinity you won’t find me doing it. Ever. Not sure who David Gandy is and think you might want to become a Gandy Girl like me? Google him. You can thank me later.

I’m a LOVER of all music. The 1200+ songs on my IPod can attest to the variety of my musical tastes. Hubby and I try to travel to a different music festival every year and are regular concert goers.

My name is Elisabeth and I like reality TV. There I admitted it and that’s the first step, right? Yes, I’m a writer and I see the need for scripted shows, but sometimes there’s just something so entertaining about watching one Real Housewife lose it on another one. I could listen to Cochran’s diatribe on his fellow castaways for hours.

Of the four of us that make up my family, three of us are Leo’s. Let’s say it together…DRAMA!

I may be the world’s worst cook. My poor children. Unless Daddy’s cooking they know not to expect much.

I write every night after my kids are in bed until the wee hours of the morning. This wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that I have always been an early-bird-catches-the-worm kind-of girl, so 5:00am comes early. Sleep is over-rated, I say.

Wrath is the second book and final conclusion in the Wrong Series by LP Lovell and Stevie J. Cole. These two outstanding authors teamed up to write a dark erotic romantic thriller that takes the reader into dark underworld of the deep south.

Wrath cannot be read as a stand alone novel. It must be read in series order. It picks up where Wrong, book one, left off on a major cliffhanger.

The Wrong series is not for the faint of heart. This series is sexually graphic, has multiple rape scenes, extreme violence, and graphic language. If any of these are hard limits …do not buy the books.

Wrath picks up where Wrong left off. The frightening cliffhanger was only the beginning. Joe Campbell has taken Tor. He wants to punish Jude before he kills them both. What happens in those six days is horrific and will forever change both Tor and Jude’s life. They are both going to walk away broken and damaged beyond repair.

The body can physically heal but the mind and soul are quite a different issue. Both are haunted by what Joe Campbell has done to them and their family. Both want revenge. Both are furious and will never rest until Joe Campbell is dead.

Is revenge worth the cost they are going to pay? As this story unfolds it will become clear that revenge has a very high price. They have come too far to walk away. Joe won’t allow them to walk away.

After everything is said and done and Wrath has been sated , they will still be paying the price. These two may never get their happily ever after.

I am no stranger to dark erotic romantic thrillers and love a good dark read. Wrath was intense and at times a bit too violent. It turned my stomach at times but it also made me admire the both Tor and Jude all the more. Their fortitude and strength was the glue that held them both together in desperate times.

Tor evolved into a different person. She was no longer innocent and pure of heart. She embraced her darkness and allowed it to make her a stronger person. The one thing that remained the same was her love for Jude.

If you want an intense dark thriller, the Wrong series is the go to books.

I was looking forward to starting the new exciting Wrong Series by LP Lovell and Stevie J. Cole.

I will say that this book is not a fluffy feel good type romance. This book has graphic language, extreme violence, and implications of rape. If these are hard limits please do not buy the book. These graphic uses and situations are an integral part of this story and a driving force in the plot.

Wrong came as a complete surprise to me. The plot was extremely complicated and unpredictable. The characters are complex. Jude Pearson is a ruthless bookie. He does not give his clients second chances. He would just as soon kill them and write the money owed off as a loss. But first he is going to make them suffer. He is going to take everything they own and everything they hold dear. He shows no weakness. But even Jude has his limits. He would never harm a woman. He would never endanger a woman’s life. He would never take a woman against her will.

When a client uses his girlfriend as collateral for his debt, it goes against everything Jude believes in. He also suspects it may be a set up. The young woman is strong, defiant, and fights for her freedom at every turn. When the whole episode goes completely wrong, she shows the strength of will and bravery that would put grown men to shame. When she would rather take her own life than become a victim, it is too much for Jude. Not only has she earned his respect, she has also won his heart.

As this story unfolds it becomes quite clear that not only was Jude set up but is also being hunted. He has a powerful enemy that will stop at nothing until everything in his life is destroyed. Including the woman he loves.

The characters in this book were phenomenal. I truly admire Tor’s strength. She adapted and survived. She found love in an unlikely place. Jude was as hard as they come except when it came to Tor. He allowed her to see his vulnerabilities and proved that he could give her love she deserved.

Wrong ends on huge a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the rest of the story.

I highly recommend Wrong for fans of dark erotic romances.

LP Lovell

Lauren Lovell is an indie author from England. She suffers from a total lack of brain to mouth filter and is the friend you have to explain before you introduce her to anyone, and apologise for afterwards.
