Synopsis

True Crime novelist Ian Sharpe has spent his career writing about serial killers for very personal reasons. For his latest exposé, he is taking on the sadistic madman known as the Red Ribbon Strangler, and when his research leads him to Hollywood’s most private and provocative actress, he will break every rule to uncover her truth.

The daughter of one of Hollywood’s golden couples, chased by paparazzi and treated as a commodity her entire life, Veronica Romero wields her sex appeal like a weapon. She expects Ian to be as easy to control as every other man she’s ever known. But from the beginning, he refuses to fall into line. Mysterious and cool, challenging and just a little bit dangerous, Ian somehow makes her feel safe—even as he digs into the deepest secrets of her life and pushes her to the breaking point.

As raw ecstasy gives way to agonized truths, their dark obsession exposes secrets that have been buried for far too long. Ian wants to tear down her walls and heal the sensual woman underneath. But if Veronica’s learned anything, it’s that the line between pleasure and pain is a narrow one—and when caught between them the only thing that matters is how you play the game.

e3681-excerpt

I take picture after picture, with a vintage champagne glass in my hand or my face buried in a huge bouquet of dahlias. Toward the end, Marc has the stylist and his assistant wrap me up in a long string of artificial belladonna since the real stuff can cause problems if it touches the skin. Then they heap my gloved hands with a mountain of the poisonous black berries and Marc has me hold my hands out to the camera in a deadly macabre offering.

Again and again Marc shoots me like that, taking pictures from every possible angle. On his knees in front of me, looking up. From a ladder above me, looking down. Beside me. Behind me. Across the room. Up close. Again and again he points and clicks. Again and again, I smile and pout and make every other expression he asks for. I even take his suggestion to tilt my head back with my mouth open wide and hold one of the berries between my thumb and index finger as I pretend to be about to drop it in. As I do, I close my eyes and pretend not to be totally icked out.

When I open them two minutes and twenty shots later, the first person I see is Ian. He’s leaning back against one of the mirrored walls and for once his omnipresent notebook is nowhere to be seen. Instead he’s staring straight at me, a half-snarl on his normally calm face and his eyes burning with a mixture of contempt and desire.

It’s the first time I’ve seen anything but pleasant or puzzled interest from him and it has the tiny hairs on the back of my neck standing up. Has ice skating down my spine and a desert taking up residence in my mouth. Because, in that moment, as our eyes lock and his turn impossibly darker, impossibly blacker, I don’t know who he sees. Can’t tell who he wants.

Me or her?

Actress or murderer?

Sentient being or a character he helped create?

It’s just more fuel to add to the fire of my earlier doubts and in that one tense and electric moment, it comes to me. What the cover shot should be.

What I need it to be.

Marc backs off a little, has his assistant come forward with a trash bag for me to throw away the last of the berries and the gloves I’ve been wearing. As she pauses to tie up the bag in front of me, I ask her for a couple wipes.

She quickly returns with a box of baby wipes and I smile my thanks even as Marc instructs me back against the mirror for what he calls “the last series of shots.”

I do as he instructs, but as he’s fiddling with the lighting, I turn toward the mirror and swipe the wipe over the right half of my face.

“What are you doing?” my makeup artist squawks as he comes racing across the room at me.

“Trust me, Dalton,” I tell him as I continue to scrub.

“Stop doing that!” he orders as he grabs on to the end of the wipe and actually tries to wrestle it away from me.

“Just wait,” I instruct, refusing to let go no matter how hard he tugs.

“But—”

“What are you up to, Veronica?” Marc asks. He sounds more intrigued than annoyed.

“I’ll show you,” I tell him, pushing gently at Dalton’s hand until he finally lets go with a whimper.

And then, with the whole room—including Ian—watching me intently, I wipe the entire half side of my face clean of any and all makeup. I do it carefully, making sure that the line that runs down the center of my face is exact so that both sides are completely symmetrical.

When I’m done, I reach up and take off my right earring and hand it to Dalton who still looks slightly shell-shocked. Then I step back and stare at this new reflection of myself in the mirror.

Half me at my most natural, half her at her most armored, it’s a devastating look. Made even more so by the elaborate fifties makeup Dalton has me in—all red lips and thick black liner and long, long lashes.

There is a difference, I tell myself fiercely as I study myself. I am not her. I will never be her, no matter what it felt like four months ago.

In the background I’m aware of Marc cursing softly, of him snapping picture after picture. I don’t turn around, instead continuing to give him my back so that he gets both me and my reflection in each shot.

“Turn around,” he breathes after he’s taken at least three dozen pictures.

Reluctantly, I do as he requests, then follow his impatient gesture for me to move away from the mirror. I step forward and then the camera starts again, clicking away to get the shot from this angle as well.

At that moment, Ian moves and I make the mistake of glancing his way. Our gazes lock and heat slams through me at the look he’s giving me, has my eyes widening and my lips parting on a gasp as I struggle to draw air into lungs that have abruptly forgotten how to work.

“Fuck,” Marc breathes from where he’s narrowing in on my face. “That’s it. That’s the money shot.”

I drag my eyes away from Ian, but it’s too late. For the first time in a very, very long time, I feel vulnerable. And I hate every second of it.

The Play Me Series

Play Me Right- Book 5

911xwanjIGL._SL1500_Good things never have to end. Tracy Wolff, the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, brings her eBook original serial to an unforgettable climax in Play Me’s sensational finale . . . for now.

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . but my future belongs to Sebastian Caine.

Technically, Aria may still be in one piece, but she’s feeling pretty damn close to broken. While she knows Sebastian would die before hurting her, their intense, steamy encounters have opened up old wounds in them both. Now Aria is considering the unthinkable: walking away again—this time to save Sebastian from the pain she knows her past will cause him. But Sebastian’s the one who set her free in the first place—how can she not show him the same care and compassion? Because, in the end, being together forever is the only thing that feels right.

Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences.

The Play Me Series is a spin off of the Ethan Frost Series.  This series features one of Ethan Frost’s best friends and his return to Las Vegas.  There are 5 Books in this series and each is novella length.  Each installment is sensual, breathtaking, addicting, and paced perfectly to keep the reader intrigued.  Each installment ends on a major cliffhanger that leaves the reader wanting more.  The final book does not end on a cliffhanger but leaves the reader anxious for the next Ethan Frost book.  The characters from this series will be in the next Ethan Frost book and will be involved in Ethan’s mission to destroy his enemies.

The characters in this series are phenomenal.  Their attraction and sexual chemistry is smoldering hot.  Their erotic relationship will keep the readers fanning themselves.  Their story is thrilling in so many ways.  From their current lives, their secrets from the past, their steamy relationship, their smoldering sexual escapades, and complicated new directions , The Play Me series is addicting.

Each book in this series was released on December 2, 2014.  Readers do not have to wait for the next book to come out.  The pricing for each book is similar to other serial romances on todays market.  The pricing for the series all together is equivalent to purchasing one book by one of the major publishing houses.  It is well worth the price and I highly recommend this series.

Although this series is a spin off of the Ethan Frost series it can be read as a stand alone series.

5 starPlay Me Right is the fifth and final volume in the Play Me series.  It rocked!

The journey that Aria and Sebastian started in the beginning has led to a very different path for both of them.  What started out as a way to teach Aria about the true meaning of control has evolved into much more.  Sebastian has learned some new lessons about control the hard way.  He has also learned that it is okay to lose control with someone that you love.  He has learned that control has more than one meaning.

Aria has finally come clean to Sebastian after she witnesses his total meltdown.  She knows what that meltdown has cost him.  She also knows that she can trust her heart with this man.

Together Aria and Sebastian have found a very beautiful once in a lifetime love in the middle of the chaos of Sin City.  They have shared their secrets and placed their trust in one another.  They have committed themselves to one another.

There is a surprise in this final book.  Ethan Frost’s enemy has taken on a much more personal level of hatred to Sebastian.  He has joined Ethan’s personal vendetta with one of his own.  I can’t wait for the next Ethan Frost novel.  I want to see these guys take names and deal out their wrath.

The Play Me Series is a solid five star series.  I was hooked from the first book and devoured the next four.  I highly recommend this series.

Because she has depths that are unknown—even to her. Aria has worked hard to establish herself as anything but submissive. That isn’t who she is, or who she wants to be. 5 starPlay Me Hard is my favorite book in this series so far.  This book picked up where the last book left off.  Sebastian is doing what he was supposed to do after his and Aria’s erotic sexual combustion.  He is taking care of Aria the way a Dom is supposed to.  The way a man should treat a woman that has given him a precious gift.

This book made me fall in love with both Sebastian and Aria.  We got a glimpse of their personalities, odd little quirks, and funky little habits that make them unique individuals. Rather than exploring their sexual attraction, they were taking the time to get to know one another.  It was very endearing and made their characters more human.

Even though Sebastian and Aria are on somewhat good terms.  We discover that Sebastian is hiding some secrets of his own.  The revelation comes at Aria’s apartment building and leaves the readers antsy to find out what he is hiding.  I guess we will have to read the next book to find out!

I am really enjoying the Play Me Series.

5 starPlay Me Hot is the second book in the Play Me Series.  Hot is not the right word to describe this book.  It was BLAZING!

Play Me Wild finished on a cliffhanger.  Sebastian and Aria have met for the first time in his office.  He quickly recognized that she was like him.  A person that had to be in control at all times.  He admired her strength and willpower, but he also saw that she needed something else.  He saw that she needed to learn the true meaning of control.  He is a master Dom and has learned to that the true power and absolute contra is totally in the Sub’s hands.  He wants to give her that power.  But before he can properly lead her down that road, his attraction to her gets the best of him.  He takes this attraction between them further than he intended.  He lets his desire take control of him.  Together they are explosive.  Although Sebastian has control over her sexually, he does not have her mental submission.  Their explosive sex was the best he has ever had but he let his duties fall by the wayside.  He took Aria to her subspace but did not take the proper steps in bringing her back to a normal level.  His loss of control and failure to do his duties puts Aria in a very bad way.  Will he recognize his failure in time or will Aria fall apart on the job?

Sebastian is a determined man.  He will take control.  He will take Aria to the place she needs to be and he will rectify his mistakes.  Play Me Hot ends on less of a cliffhanger but dangles enough teasers that the reader wants to get to Play Me Hard, Book 3.

I am hooked on the Play Me Series.  I can’t wait to see where this story is going to lead.

5 starIn Play Me Wild the reader gets an introduction to the characters and their lives.  It sets the pace for the entire series.

Aria Winston is a strong woman.  She is independent and never asks for help.  She accepts her strengths and weaknesses.  She is also hiding a very startling secret.  But it is her secret to harbor.  She is working as a cocktail waitress in one of the most popular hotel casinos in Vegas.  She has moved up to serving the elite high rollers, otherwise known as the whales.  She does her job well but when one customer gets out of hand it brings her to the attention of her boss, Sebastian Caine.

Sebastian Caine has returned to Vegas to take over his fathers hotel casino.  He left Vegas ten years earlier determined to never return.  His father has had a series of strokes and needs someone to step in and run the business he has been running into the ground.  This is the last place Sebastian wants to be but also understands that this is his legacy.  When a waitress is fired and the disgruntled customer wants restitution, Sebastian has to step in.  When he views the actual occurrence on the video feed , he is appalled.  He is appalled that these high roller men treat his waitresses with disrespect and disregard.  He is also fascinated with the waitress that is involved in the situation.

When Sebastian and Aria meet face to face their attraction to one another is smoldering.  Sebastian recognizes a kindred spirit.  He also recognizes a need that Aria has that only he can show her how to fulfill. What happens in that meeting will leave the reader breathless.  It ends on a cliffhanger that leaves the reader rushing to download the next installment in the series.

Author Bio:

tracy wolffTracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from contemporary to paranormal to erotic suspense.

And for all of those who want the unedited version:
Tracy Wolff lives with four men, teaches writing to local college students and spends as much time as she can manage immersed in worlds of her own creation. Married to the alpha hero of her dreams for twelve years, she is the mother of three young sons who spend most of their time trying to make her as crazy as possible.
