Michel’s Review

I have to admit I am late to the Arizona Vengeance Series. I started this series over the summer when I had more reading time. I can honestly say this series did not disappoint and I loved it just as much as I loved the Cold Fury series.

Tacker Hall is one of the characters throughout the series that has kept the readers intrigued. They wanted to know his story because of his guilt over a plane crash he was piloting. Hockey has been the only thing he has managed to hang onto. Extreme guilt, poor decisions, and spiraling out of control has put his career on the line. Confronting his emotions and dealing with his guilt are impossible until his new therapist Nora Wayne finds a way to reach him. Her diligence, patience, and optimism are what gains his trust enough to break through his steely walls of guilt and despair.

Once the door is open, nothing can stop Tacker from finding the strength to forgive himself and open up to love. Nora is there for him with open arms and healing love.

Nothing can describe this incredible story because the emotions displayed throughout this book is moving. I honestly believe every person can relate to Tacker and Nora in some capacity. Sawyer Bennett delivered more than a story her readers were waiting for. She delivered the sunshine this series needed.  I cannot express how much I loved this story and Tacker. Sawyer Bennett is a truly gifted writer who I have always said has a magical pen. She has stepped above and beyond her gifted talent! She gave Tacker the happily ever after he deserved.

Michel’s Review

When I read the blurb for Stealing Her by Rachel Van Dyken , I knew I had to read this book. I love books about twins switching places and finding their siblings lives are anything but what they anticipated. I was immediately drawn into the story.

Bridge and Julian are twin brothers who always shared everything until their parents decided to divorce. While one grows up working several jobs to make ends meet while taking care of their mother, the other is living a life of luxury with a beautiful fiancé, a successful career, and plenty of wealth. Bridge learned what it means to have to earn every penny while Julian enjoyed a life of entitlement and ease. When Julian is in a serious car accident and on life support their father convinces Bridge to step into his life and take over his career. He promises to pay their mother’s medical bills. He needs Bridge to take over so the company doesn’t suffer because of Julian’s accident. Although Bridge is reluctant and resentful, he is also practical. He will do what needs to be done.

Stepping into his brother’s life was more difficult than he anticipated. Running a billion dollar company is even harder. Being near his father is worse than he imagined. Julian’s life is much more complex and difficult than it appeared. Can he let go of all his resentment and do what is best for his entire family? Can he deceive Izzy without hurting her, himself, or his brother?

Twists, turns, and no escape from an impossible situation are only the beginning. There is no easy way out for anyone. Rachel Van Dyken wrote a complex story loaded with angst and depth of emotions.  This story was a bit darker and much more complex than most of her books. This book did not have the fun, fluffy banter, or comedic feel, it was intricately woven with intrigue, mystery, and emotional passages.

I couldn’t stop thinking about Stealing Her by Rachel Van Dyken after I had finished the book. This book has taken her writing to another level and proves how talented she truly is. I can’t wait to see what comes next in the Covet series!

Just when you thought Amo Jones couldn’t unleash more perfection into the book world she stands triumphantly and says “watch this!”

There’s truly no way to prepare for the disturbingly delicious twists that await within the pages of In Peace Lies Havoc.

Amo Jones has created characters with depth and complexity. The story delves deep into the taboo world of Midnight Mayhem where the acts are deliciously sinful, and the performers own the stages in which they perform.

What I love about this story is that each character lends importance to the story. They each bring something unique to add intrigue to the storyline. I found myself vested in each character.

The Sons of Kiznitch are pure sinful perfection!!! Comprised of the 4 K’s (Kingston, Killian, Keaton and Kyrin) they are depraved and mysterious. They’ll entrance you and hold you hostage throughout the story.

Dove Hendry our heroine is spirited and strong! Having endured much tragedy in her life, she’s a bit mysterious, even to herself. It’s interesting to watch her story unfold and discover secrets that even surprise her.

Her and Kingston’s chemistry is off the charts!!!

Overall, this story is just pure perfection and I cannot recommend it enough!!

The small dining room table had a pile of mail. I’d had Dad’s mail forwarded to my house, so mostly it was just catalogs and junk. Once a month, Mrs. Cascio sent me everything that arrived, even though I’d told her it wasn’t necessary. I mindlessly fingered through the pile, not expecting to see anything worth keeping. I squinted at the postmark. It was from a PO box in California, not England, but I didn’t know any other Quinn other than Griffin. And the handwriting did look pretty familiar. But it had been close to eight years since we’d exchanged letters. Why would he write now? Curious, I ripped it open and scanned right to the bottom of the letter for the name. Sure enough, it was from Griffin. I started at the beginning. 

 

Dear Luca, 

 

Do you like scotch? I remember you said you didn’t like the taste of beer. But we never did get around to comparing our taste in hard liquor. Why is that, you might ask? Let me remind you—because you stopped answering my letters eight damn years ago. I wanted to let you know, I’m still pissed off about that. My mum used to say I hold grudges. But I prefer to think of it as I remember the facts. And the fact of the matter is, you suck. There, I’ve said it. I’ve been holding that shit in for a long time. Anyway, I’m sure this letter won’t find its way to you. Or if by some miracle it does, you won’t answer. But if you’re reading this, you should know two things. 

1. The Macallan 1926 is worth the extra cash. Goes down smooth.

The dynamic duo, Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have released Dirty Letters, their final novel for 2019. Dirty Letters was a phenomenal book that featured two very unique people finding love through words.

Dirty Letters features the story of two individuals who find love through years of letters. Luca suffers from debilitating anxiety and PTSD which deeply affects how she maneuvers through life. Griffin has experienced his own trials, tribulations, and heartbreaks. Through letters they both find much more than a way to escape their own worlds but also a way to express themselves completely.

A pen pal writing assignment was a life line for two children and became so much more. At the age of seven Luca and Griffin became childhood pen pals who shared so many things they could never express outside their letters.  They became best friends until life got in the way and ended their letters ended abruptly.

Eight years later at the age of twenty five, Luca finds herself forced to deal with her father’s death from a year earlier. Her therapist, Dr. Maxwell, helped her decide to face the reality and get the task done herself rather than hiring someone else to do it. When she finds a recent letter from Griffin it changes her direction once again. He’s angry that she stopped writing without explanation. He goes as far as saying she SUCKS!

After rereading some of the letters from the past and reading some of the unopened letters, she finally gets the courage to write him back. She owed him an explanation and huge apology. Thus begins the exchange.

They don’t know each others real identities, names, or occupations. This gives them the opportunity to enjoy the freedom to express whatever they desire. It allows them to become more susceptible to experiencing real emotions without boundaries or expectations. It allows their thoughts to become creative and their dirty desires to surface.

Let the fun begin, hang onto your seat, and get ready for one of the best books the dynamic duo, Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward has written. What I loved most is while this book dealt with serious afflictions, it was also fun, light-hearted, and very witty. It was their best book of 2019!

I highly recommend reading Dirty Letters by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward!

Nome – O Seeks Juliet by Katy Regnery reminds me of the very reason I fell in love with Katy Regnery’s writing.  Katy has the ability to deliver a character driven, emotionally touching romance that keeps the readers absorbed until the very end.

Juliet Sanderson is finishing up her final year in Veternary College when she loses her study candidate for her thesis project on the care and training of sled dogs in the competitive sled racing sport. Rather than throw the towel in, her roommate finds her a new candidate in the classifieds of a popular Alaskan magazine,  The Odds Are Good.
