Nobody writes a holiday romance like Shannon Stacey. Every year she delivers a very special holiday story that makes the holiday season brighter. She captures the magic of the holidays, delivers an emotional book, always gives her characters a holiday miracle, and gives the reader a taste of small town charm during the holidays. I always look forward to these holiday themed books every year. It’s the perfect book to help celebrate the holiday season.

Christina Forrester and her young son were betrayed by her husband and left penniless. She had to rebuild a new life that is worlds apart from her former life. The funny thing is that she is much happier and feels like she is accomplishing giving her son a good life. When she ended up in New Hampshire it was more of a blessing than a curse. She met Gail Broughton, a kind window, that helped her get on her feet. She has a job, a nice house she is renting, and a wonderful neighbor that helps her with her son, Nathaniel.

Since Gail lost her husband, she has been a bit lost until she meets Christina Broughton. Christina and Nathaniel help fill the void in her life. Her children are grown and on their own. Her son left New Hampshire after he lost his wife and unborn child. Her daughter is married and has small children of her own to manage. Gail has a lot time and a heart full of love to give this small wounded family.

Will Broughton decides to move back to New Hampshire for his mother. He knows she must be lost without his father. He intends to be there for her and help her with all the honey do jobs around the house. He is finally ready to come home. He’s come to terms with his loss and has accepted his new life. He doesn’t intend on falling in love again or starting a new family. One loss in a lifetime is all he can handle. That is until he meets Christina and Nathaniel. These two people will become an important part of his life. They will become his future.

I loved the family unity and dedication in this book. It showed the importance of showing your loved ones how much they mean to you. It also showed that there is always room for more love.

Nathaniel captured my heart with his pure innocence. His wonder and awe of the holidays made this book magical. I loved how he hero worshipped Will. I love how Will taught him the importance of giving to others. Will set the perfect example of being a good man.

The chemistry and attraction between Will and Christina was sizzling. They did not go into their relationship lightly. They both had to heal from the past and learn things about themselves. Their friendship and companionship was a slow build to a forever kind of love.

Shannon Stacey delivered another beautiful holiday romance.

Tracey’s Review

Miranda Hamilton has a love-hate relationship with Logan Mauldin. Ever since that game of Seven Minutes In Heaven when they were 13, the two have had their ups and downs, and it’s been mostly down since their college days. So when Logan steps up to be be Miranda’s co-chair of the Magnolia Bay Holiday Festival, she’s none too happy.

Logan would like nothing better than to kiss Miranda under the mistletoe. He’s gone so far as to volunteer to co-chair the annual holiday festival, just so that he can get closer to her. Because he’s liked Miranda for a very long time, and is determined to make her admit that she feels the same. He’ll do anything to win her over, even make Miranda’s Christmas miracle come true.

I love a book that puts me in the mood for the holidays, and JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS is a cute and enjoyable read that does just that. Kim Boykin writes what she knows, being a Southern girl herself, and her depiction of small-town life in Magnolia Bay is both evocative and endearing. She’s done a nice job, too, of writing characters that are full of personality, like Miranda and Logan, Logan’s brothers and mother, the Six Chicks (Miranda’s six besties), and Pammy, Miranda’s arch-nemesis. I recommend this sweet and sassy book, and give it four stars for helping get my Christmas season off to a romantic start.

Susan Whitmore has what some might call a strong personality. Nicknamed ‘The Barracuda,’ Susan is not known for her patience and shiny happy outlook. Having recently quit her job at the FBI in a way that ensures that she won’t be welcomed back, she has to find a new position, and soon. Dave Logan, head of Deep Six Security, has had his fair share of dealings with Susan, and, while he’ll admit that she was a great agent, there is no way that he would ever consider hiring her. But Dave needs Susan to help him and his team with their latest assignment, and soon they’re creating sparks in more ways than one.

As a big fan of Becky McGraw and her cowboy heartthrobs, I was very excited to learn that she was writing a new series featuring Dave Logan and his Lonestar Heroes. Becky’s knack for creating stories starring hot alpha men and sassy spirited women has made her a favorite of mine, and she absolutely does not disappoint with this book. Dave Logan is one strong and sexy man, and when he and Susan go to work on a case together, it is hot, hot, hot. These are two people that are not afraid to speak their minds, and to take what they want from life. Laughing out loud and fanning myself by turn, I sped through TILL DEATH, loving the way that Dave and Susan interact with each other, and with the other members of the Deep Six crew. I am looking forward to seeing the other guys get their books, and will happily add them to my TBR. Becky, you’re scored another win with your Lonestar Heroes, and I could not have enjoyed them more.

“Here you go, my lady.” He bent down and proceeded to put my foot into my boot.

I pulled away from him. “Knock it off. What’s gotten into you tonight?” As charming as Glen was being something seemed off with him. I wondered if maybe I wasn’t the only one who was upset.

He proceeded to move on to my next boot. “It’s Christmas Eve. Aren’t you Miss Holiday Spirit?”

“Usually.”

“Exactly.” He put on his shoes and tugged on my hand to pull me to standing. “Let’s get those hot chocolates.”

The line at the café on the other side of the rink was nearly out the door, but I was enjoying Glen’s company so much I didn’t mind.

He insisted on buying my hot cocoa for me, and considering he’d already paid for my skate rental, I was starting to feel uncomfortable. Glen had all the money he could ever need, but I wasn’t used to guys buying me anything. My dating experience wasn’t extensive, and it involved boys who were all about going dutch. “I really don’t mind paying.”

“Yeah, but I want to pay. Stop arguing and enjoy yourself.” He lightly bumped his shoulder into mine.

“Well, thanks.”

We walked around the village sipping our hot chocolate and not saying much. After a while we took a seat on a bench. It was underneath a tree, and the pine needles blocked some of the falling snow. I closed my eyes and listened to the chatter of people walking by mixed with the low hum of holiday music.

“You guys need to kiss.”

I opened my eyes and saw a girl staring at us. “You’re sitting under mistletoe. That’s the rules. You’re under mistletoe, you kiss.”

I looked up. Sure enough there was mistletoe hanging over us from the tree. It wasn’t real, it was just the decorative stuff they used, but it had the same unmistakable appearance.

Glen put an arm around me. “I think she’s right, Savy.”

I turned to glare at him. “Don’t even start.”

“Why not? Scared to kiss me?” he teased.

Yes. I was scared. Terrified. This was Glen. Kissing him wasn’t something I was prepared to do casually while sitting on a bench in the snow with a bunch of onlookers. Of course I couldn’t tell him that though. “Why would I be scared?”

“I don’t know. Just checking.” He got a twinkle in his eye. That twinkle should have given me all the warning I needed, but it didn’t. I was wholly unprepared when his lips made contact with mine. They were warm and soft, and they moved perfectly against mine. I kissed him back, desperately wanting to know what his mouth tasted like, and if his tongue felt half as good as his lips.

Without warning, we’re on the bed, wisps of charcoal vapors swirling around our bodies. Author Interview:

Today I have the pleasure of sitting down and asking Khloe Adams, author of the Donut Shop Diva series, a few questions.
Welcome to Smut Book Junkie, Khloe, and thank you for your time.
SBJ: I learned from your website that you are, in fact, a collaborating trio of authors as opposed to one single entity. When was the concept of “Khloe Adams” born?
Khloe: We tease that we met on an elevator at the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention, and the elevator became stuck. But not to worry. We write romance, not horror. A male model from a romance cover was trapped with us. He kept us very entertained. Afterward, we needed a drink to cool down and headed for the nearest bar. One thing led to another and we decided to form a partnership in July 2013 and write about independent women and strong, sexy guys. We really like elaborating on the male model part—shoulders like a Viking ship, abs that practically burst through his Polo top, and thighs the size of rockets—because if we gave the basic facts, it would put everyone to sleep when they read our bio.

SBJ: How does working as an individual work versus being a trio? Do you each take parts of the book(s) or are you each others’ sounding board?
Khloe: All of the above. The three most important things to remember when working as a team is to leave your ego at the door, respect each other’s suggestions and opinions, and laugh—alot! Just try writing a sex scene together! Every decision we make—from plots to social media events to covers—has to rep Khloe as a united voice who writes hot and sexy contemporary romances with a touch of humor.

SBJ: How do you collectively manage signings and author events, do you appear as a trio or each attend separately to cover more ground?
Khloe : So far, it hasn’t been possible to attend an event as a trio since two of us live in Florida and the other one in Colorado. On the good side, we can cover a lot more territory going to author events and signings.

SBJ: Who are your inspirations or role models?
Khloe : There’s a great little book by Austin Kleon called, Steal like an Artist, 10 Things Nobody Told You About Being Creative. He encourages you to pick your role models and discover all the good things they’re doing, then do it your own way. From the beginning, we found indie authors we thought were great writers, marketing/social media wizards and had fabulous covers/art work. We’ve been inspired by so many authors, like Bella Andre, Mimi Strong, J.R. Ward, Jasinda Wilder and Melanie James.

SBJ: If you had to tweet a description of your books, including writing STYLE, what would you say?
Khloe:

SBJ: After “Donut Shop Diva – Miranda”, what is your next Work in Progress? When can we expect that to come out?
Khloe: Great question. The next serial will be about Rachel who is Miranda’s younger sister. In her early twenties, Rachel is a free-spirited, fun-loving Donut Shop Diva and co-owner of HOT & GLAZED. She’s a prize-winning pastry baker who meets her match in a competition. He’s an Italian stallion who also happens to be a gourmet chef. The three-book serial will be released the first quarter of 2015.

SBJ: What are you currently reading?
Khloe:
• Cold, Dark Place by Toni Anderson. Romantic suspense and very hot sex!
• Lover Awakened – Black Dagger Series by J.R. Ward. Paranormal and very, very hot sex!
• Do or Die – Reluctant Heroes Series by Suzanne Brockmann. Romantic suspense and yup, more hot sex!

SBJ: Is there anything you’d like to tell any potential new readers/fans about you, your books, sales, upcoming events, etc?
Khloe:

The truth behind Khloe Adams is—she’s not one author but three. Plus, one of the author’s is a USA Today Bestseller and has written over 75 books! All together, we write hot and sexy contemporary romance with a dash of humor and a sprinkle of new adult.

Our story began when we met each other for the first time on an elevator at a Romantic Times Convention. It ended up not to be an ordinary ride. The elevator became stuck between the fiftieth and fifty-first floors at the hotel.

But don’t feel bad.

A male model that you see on romance covers was trapped with us. He kept us entertained. Just remembering the way he looked, still makes us drool to this day.

Needless to say, we found ourselves disappointed when the elevator moved again and we had to say goodbye to our fearless passenger. ARCHANGEL’S SHADOWS, the seventh book in the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh, is an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat read from the first page. Ash and Janvier are a team, the human Guild hunter and vampire working in the service of the archangel Raphael. The attraction which has always existed between them is becoming stronger, with Janvier making no effort to hide his desire to become Ash’s partner in every sense of the word. But Ash is hiding a secret that could tear them apart, and that keeps her from giving in to the desire that she feels.

This is the first book that I have read from the series, and while I sense that there is a lot of backstory that I am missing, it did not keep me from thoroughly enjoying this book. I am a huge fan of paranormal romance, and Nalini is a master of the genre. The characters are unique and engaging, and the heat between each of the couples is palpable. I love that the female characters are strong and respected by their male counterparts, with not one delicate flower in the lot. These ladies are capable, and aren’t afraid to let everyone know, which is one of the things that resonated most strongly for me. As well, the Seven, whom have all been introduced in earlier books, are fascinating to me, and I really enjoyed the banter and real affection that they have for each other. All of these things, combined with the mysterious threat that Ash and Janvier are facing, made for a read that I couldn’t put down. I look forward to going back and starting the series from the beginning, and also continuing to read the upcoming installments.

Michel’s Review

The Social Media Series by JA Huss has been an erotic and action packed experience. Each episode has left readers on the edge of their seats. The ending was bittersweet and pure perfection for Grace and Vaughn.

I am not going to say too much and give away spoilers. The one thing I will say is that Grace became a stronger woman. She learned to open her heart and let love in. She learned that she is just as much Daisy as she is Grace. Combine the two together and Vaughn has the perfect woman. Vaughn surprised me throughout this series. He grew emotionally and proved to Grace, as well as the world, that he is a man of honor.

I loved the Social Media series. I highly recommend this series. JA Huss is a gifted writer that always delivers more than a sensational romance.

I’ve been here before. I’ve been under Dorian’s spell enough times to know how this will play out. He’s a man of dominating control, and today has been nothing short of chaos. He’s taking it back. He’s taking me back.

“Touch me,” I beg, my voice breathless with agony.

“No.” His eyes spark with white fire on that single word, showing the torment of his restraint.
