Excerpt

Maddox

I drive home in comfortable silence. I don’t think I’ve ever been content with comfortable silence with a woman before which is just another reminder of how Avery is different from everyone else. She doesn’t feel the need to talk all the time for the sake of talking.

As we start to approach the city limits of Rivers Edge, I start to wonder what I should do next. If this was any other girl, I’d drive back to her house with no hesitation whatsoever and take her inside. But this is Avery, and like I said, she’s different.

So, I thought maybe we’d stop by my house for a bit if that’s okay with you. This way, someone like Jake doesn’t see my truck parked in your drive and make trouble.” Even to my own ears, I sounded a little nervous as I said it. What the hell? It’s not like it’s my first time taking a girl home. Then it hits me. It is the first time I’m taking a girl home; to my house. I always go to their place. But the thought of Avery in my house, my bed, just feels right.

That sounds good,” she says with another shy smile. I love that smile; it’s filled with happiness and innocence. I turn off Main Street and head down Lincoln towards my house. When I reach my house, I pull into the drive and kill the engine. I hop out and walk around to her door. When I open it, she seems slightly hesitant, maybe even nervous.

I can take you home if you want.”

No,” she quickly throws out there. “I want to be here…with you.” There’s that damn smile again. I extend my hand to her and help her down from the truck and head inside.

When we step inside the dark recesses of my living room, I start to walk towards the lamp but she catches me by the arm, stopping me. I turn to look at her. The only light in the room is what moonlight is filtering through the window. Standing there in my darkened living room, light glowing off her blond hair, she looks stunning. She extends her hand up to cradle my cheek, her other hand runs up my abdomen from my stomach to rest on my chest. I step closer to her, looking deep into her eyes. She must have realized she was holding her breath because she lets out a big breath which comes out a little shaky. I look deep into her crystal blue eyes, and that’s when I see it. Lust. Desire. Trust.

My resolve shatters like a glass vase with that one look as I push her back against my front door. Our lips are urging each other on as our desire for each other completely takes over. She runs her tongue down my neck, and I almost come completely undone in my pants like a teenage boy by that one simple move. I cradle her ass in my hands and lift her up. She threads her legs around my waist, her hands diving into my hair. I lean against her, pushing her back into the door, and she moans. It’s the sexiest fucking sound I’ve ever heard and all I can think about is being deep inside her, making her moan over and over and over again.

I press hot kisses along her chin, down her delectable neck and lick the spot where her pulse is rapidly beating. “Tell me to stop, Avery. Tell me to stop right now and I will. But if you say nothing, I’m taking you back to my room and burying myself deep inside you. I’m going to make you come and scream my name. All. Night. Long. Tell me you want this as much as I do.”

I want this,” she whispers without hesitation and that’s all I need to hear.

Kristyn’s Review

Avery is the only girl in a family with four older brothers. She is the baby who has been pampered and loved since the moment she was born. Her brother’s couldn’t protect her from everything, however. At 19 she found herself pregnant and alone. Her boyfriend was a cheating douche bag who had been sleeping around for a while.
She was determined to make the best of her situation and despite dating another cheating loser she hoped she would find the man that would be the perfect father to her daughter and the perfect husband for her.
Maddox is the best friend of Jake, Avery’s oldest brother. Avery was always off limits but that didn’t mean that he didn’t notice her or want her for himself. For years he pushed away the attraction knowing that if he ever acted on it he would get his ass kicked by Jake.
Avery had a crush on Maddox for a while. She figured he would never see her as anything other than his best friends little sister so she never acted on her feelings.
But then he kissed her (again) and couldn’t deny his feelings for her anymore. He had never been in a real relationship and wasn’t sure that’s what he wanted. He just knew that he had to be with her, spend time with her. Slowly and steadily Brooklyn and Avery worked their way into his heart until he couldn’t deny that they were what he needed to make him happy.
Trust Me is a wonderful book about going after what you want and trusting in the strength of another person even though it’s hard when you’ve had nothing but bad past experiences. Avery and Maddox have such a powerful connection and an attraction that even threats from older brother’s could stop. The family unit in this book was strong and entertaining. I can’t wait to see what happens to the next member of the Stevens clan.

By Aurora Rose Reynolds

Synopsis

as·sump·tion:

a thing that is accepted as true or as certain to happen, without proof

They say when you assume that you make an ass out of you and me. Kenton Mayson learned this lesson firsthand when he made assumptions about Autumn Freeman and the kind of woman she is based on what little information he had. What he finds out is she’s not only beautiful, but also smart, funny, a fighter, and exactly the kind of woman he wants to share his life with. Autumn made assumptions of her own about Kenton, and now he needs to prove her wrong in order to protect her and their future.

Michel’s Review

Aurora Rose Reynolds has done it again! Another hot alpha Mayson that makes us swoon and temperatures rise.

We met Kenton Mayson in the previous Until series.  He is the cousin to the Mayson brothers of that series.  He is mysterious, dangerous, and a self made man.  His work as a bounty hunter and private investigator keeps him busy in the underground world.  He doesn’t have time for relationships or love.  When he sees his manwhore cousins finding good women, settling down, and raising families, he’s envious and wants that kind of life for himself.  When Autumn Freeman is placed in his home for protection it is very clear she is not that kind of woman.  She is a stripper and because of her profession she has loose morals.  ASSUMPTION!

Kenton is in for a real eye opener.  Autumn is more than a two bit stripper.  She is intelligent, funny, loving, and innocent.  She is everything he wants in a woman that he wants to spend his life with.  Because she is naive and innocent, he assumes that she will trust his words.  Again ASSUMPTION!  He will have to earn her trust, break through her walls, and show her what love really means.

Autumn has been around plenty of men. Most of these men are cheaters, liars, and untrustworthy.  She assumes Kenton is the same way once he makes some derogatory remarks about her chosen profession.  Assumption!

A life time of heartache and wounds keeps Autumn from opening up to Kenton.  She thinks he will see her past life as a reason to reject her.  Assumption!

These two have made a lot of assumptions about one another.  They are clearly attracted to one another but both are clinging to their assumptions.  Once they let go of those assumptions and open their hearts, they are going to find something much better than what they assumed happily ever after would be.

I loved this story.  Aurora’s writing and male characters remind me of Kristen Ashley’s men in all their alpha hotness.  Aurora has that same easy going manner that makes her stories flow with natural ease.  Her voice is fresh, fun, sexy, and entertaining.  Her male characters may be hot Alpha men, but her women outshine these boys.  They are the perfect blend of sweet and sassy, innocence and street smart, intelligent and naive, and they know how to put these Alpha men on their knees.  And like Kristen Ashley, her dialogue will have you laughing, crying, and swooning.  You will close this book with a big smile and a heart full of happiness.

I loved the new characters introduced into the Mayson world.  Jason stole my heart with his wit and geekiness.  Kai peeked my interest with his mysterious badness.  Sven has more in his pockets than a lot of cash.  I am so looking forward to what comes next in this series.

I highly recommend Assumption by Aurora Rose Reynolds.

**Note:  I don’t usually compare authors to one another.  But when I compared Aurora Rose Reynolds with Kristen Ashley, it was intended as a huge compliment.  She evokes the same kind of light hearted happiness while giving us an intense romance.  It is a gift to be able to pull that kind of magic through words alone.**

She’s back.

For the two years she’s been away at boarding school, there was no word from her. Back when we lived in the same house, she used to cut me down during the day and then leave her door open for me at night.

I was stupid then, but now I’m ready to beat her at her own game…

I’m back.

Two years and I can tell he still wants me, even if he acts like he’s better than me.

But I won’t be scared away. Or pushed down. I’ll call his bluff and fight back. That’s what he wants, right? As long as I keep my guard up, he’ll never know how much he affects me….

He doesn’t call me that, though. He’ll barely refer to me at all, and he’ll hardly ever speak to me.

We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I’ve been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got worse as time wore on. I even went to Europe for a year, just to avoid him.

But I’m done hiding from him now, and there’s no way I’ll allow him to ruin another year. He might not have changed, but I have.

It’s time to fight back.

Until You

Until YouThis is Jared’s story.

Have you ever been so angry that hitting things felt good? Or numb to all emotions? The past few years have been like that for me. Traveling between fury and indifference with no stops in between. Some people hate me for it, while others are scared of me. But none of them can hurt me, because I don’t care about anything or anyone.

Except Tatum.

I love her so much that I hate her. I hate that I can’t let her go. We used to be friends, but I found out that I couldn’t trust her—or anyone else. So I hurt her. I pushed her away. But I still need her. She centers me. Engaging her, challenging her, pushing her—it’s the one last part of me that feels anything anymore.

But then she went and screwed everything up. She left for a year and came back a different girl. Now, when I push, she pushes back…and I’m not sure either one of us will ever be the same.

Robin’s Review

Once again, Penelope Douglas has written a powerful story for her Fall Away series. Rival is a new adult contemporary romance novel written from a dual point of view. It’s the explosive story about Madoc Caruthers and his stepsister, Fallon Pierce. Expect white heat in Rival, similar to the tone and intensity found in the first novel of the series, Bully.

Their family is completely dysfunctional. His father is married to her mother. Biologically speaking, the siblings are not related. Their parents are estranged, with neither parent living at the family home. After being forced to attend a Catholic boarding school for two years, Fallon decides to return home, where she finds Madoc and the housekeeper, Addie, are the only persons in residence. Hostility reigns between Madoc and Fallon. They clash repeatedly. Filled with rage, Fallon does not back down from Madoc. He goads her, she taunts him. It’s an interesting type of foreplay, but imagine what follows.

There is so much more to this novel than a sibling rivalry. The plot of Rival is absolutely compelling. While reading, I found myself continually shocked by the unexpected twists and turns layered into the story. Penelope Douglas uses flashbacks to fill in the blanks. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, I found that I was completely wrong. Once I reached a certain point in Rival, I found myself struggling with the believability factor, as it pertained to the ongoing hostility between Madoc and Fallon. However, this wasn’t something I continued to feel for the entire novel. Other than this one drawback, I can say that I found myself completely invested in Madoc, Fallon and their story. Rival has earned a solid 4-star rating.

Michel’s Review- 4.5 Stars

Rival by Penelope Douglas is book three in the Fall Away series. It can be read as a stand alone or in series order. The previous books are Bully and Until You. These books feature Jared and Tate and the characters from this series. This is where we meet Madoc, Jared’s best friend and cohort. Of the two, Madoc is the more laid back, fun loving, party kind of guy. He seems to let things roll off easily and nothing brings him down. With his family’s wealth, lack of parental guidance, and good looks it appears that Madoc has everything going for him. But behind this façade is a completely different young man. His family is dysfunctional, he is a product of a split home, and is left to his own devices most of the time. His father is a high profile attorney that has more interest in his career than he does his family. He remarried but never invested himself in his new family. His new wife was obviously only married to him for his prestigious standing and wealth. She also had a teenage daughter that she neglected as well.

These two teenagers were thrown together and forced to become a family. They were polar opposites. Fallon was a shy, quiet, and studious kind of girl. Madoc was a popular party kind of guy. Most of the time the two butted heads and took sibling rivalry to a new level. It would seem these two were destined to hate each other. But they both had something in common, they were both deeply hurt by their parents neglect and disregard. They found solace in each other that soon led to the forbidden attraction to one another. Once the parents discover the secret relationship between the two all hell breaks loose. What little family unity existed is now fractured beyond repair. Fallon is sent away to a Catholic boarding school. Madoc is left to his own devices. Their parents have more or less gone their own ways, living apart, and married in name only. There are deep resentments and malicious feelings for all that are involved.

Two years later Fallon returns to her former home with a vendetta of revenge. She wants to destroy Madoc and his father for the treatment she received in their home. Madoc hates Fallon after she deserted him and left him to deal with the ugliness their parents had made of their lives.

It’s an all out war. It’s a love hate relationship. It’s their way of dealing with the feelings neither one of them knows how to express. It is their foreplay.

What unravels and comes into play will have the readers glued to the pages. The story is unpredictable and very well plotted. Fallon and Madoc are Rival’s that make the battlefield look like a playground. When the peace treaty is finally reached the reader’s will be ecstatic.

Rival is sizzling hot! It is almost an erotic romance. The connection between Fallon and Mardoc is undeniable.

I loved how Penelope Douglas portrayed these two teenagers maturing into adulthood. They were very realistic to what young people are really like. She showed the many different types of families our modern day world knows. The secondary characters, the cast from the first two books, their families, and their community will definitely hit home. I am invested in this series and cannot wait for the next book, Falling Away to release in January, 2015.

This series is New Adult and is graphic. It will appeal to young adults as well as the mature audience. It is well written, has original plots, charismatic characters, and steamy romance.

I highly recommend Rival and The Fall Away series.

Top Pick6 Star ReadMy seventeen year old daughter has read the Fall Away series. It has become her favorite. She has recommended this series to all her friends and they love it. When I asked them what made this series so special, they all replied that the characters seemed very real. They were like a lot of their friends and classmates. They loved that Penelope showed a truthful side of how teenagers really are in today’s world. Bully made a huge impact among their friends and fellow students. Bully is now on the recommended reading list in the Anti-Bullying campaign in their school.

The WVHS Girls have rated and voted the Fall Away Series & Rival their TOP PICK OF 2014.

Stay With Me
By Sharla Lovelace
Synopsis

From national bestselling author Sharla Lovelace, comes another romantic and heartwarming novel set in the heart of Texas.

Ian was the wild boy every girl dreams of, a renegade who thrived on breaking the law and setting Savi’s body on fire. It was all fun and games and hot excitement, no strings attached, until the one day he got serious—and then disappeared without a trace.

Savi has spent the ten years since committing herself to her work, her daughter, and to not thinking about Ian—or love. Just when it’s possible she might have found the one man who can change her mind, Ian pulls into town, bringing with him all of the lust, danger, and excitement Savi remembers.

As Ian stirs up old feelings and draws Savi back into memories and passion she’s too weak to fight, he’s also digging up dirt on the man Savi is falling for, doing everything he can to prove that Duncan is not who he seems to be. And Savi, unsure whether she can trust either man, will be forced to decide between rekindling a love that never really burned out and building a new one that looks ready to catch fire.

Tracey’s Review

Growing up, Savanna Barnes was a wild child, living life to the fullest and taking no prisoners, and Ian McMasters was her willing partner in crime. They were everything to each other, best friends, partners, lovers. But Ian betrayed Savi in the worst possible way, leaving her broken and untrusting, determined to live a life that did not include love and commitment. But Savi is not dead, and can still appreciate Duncan Spoon, hot veterinarian, killer chef, and the sexiest guy around. She’s dying to spend some sexy time with him, and it looks like she’s about to get her chance. Then, suddenly, Ian is back in town, and Savi isn’t sure anymore what her heart wants.

I absolutely adored this book. There are equal parts nostalgia, romance, and intrigue, with plenty of hot and sexy times. Duncan, oh, my goodness, Duncan. He is pretty much everything that any hot-blooded woman could hope for. Ian, on the other hand, is trouble with a capital ‘T.’ He’s Savi’s kryptonite, and, even though they are explosive together, they are absolutely not good for each other. Waiting to see who Savi would ultimately choose had me flying through this book.

There is a well-crafted secondary storyline intertwined with the love triangle which completely held my interest. The supporting characters are realistically and lovingly written, and add so much to the story. That Savi is able to navigate her life with humor and sass, and not completely lose her mind makes reading ‘Stay With Me’ a real pleasure. I absolutely recommend this book, and am looking forward to reading a lot more from Sharla Lovelace.

Tracey’s Review

Mikayla Hale has been through a lot in her young life. With an absent father and a mother that favored addiction over her two children, Mikayla learned early on to take care of herself. Determined to live on her own terms, Mikayla becomes Micah and leaves everything behind, getting down to the business of creating the life that she wants.

Saxon Waite had it all. As the singer of the rock group Savage, he was the at the top of the world, complete with money, women, and success. But his fast living caught up with him, resulting in tragedy, and his abrupt departure from the limelight.

When Micah answers an ad to audition as vocalist for the band Resurrection, she is stunned to find that Saxon is the band’s manager. Their attraction is immediate and mutual, and it isn’t long before all the time that they’re spending together on the road leads to something more than a professional relationship. The real problem, though? Micah has a souped-up birth certificate that says she’s three years older than her real age of seventeen. Sax is twenty-five, and has a hard enough time with their supposed four-year age difference. Even knowing that Saxon will be less than thrilled if he finds out her secret, Micah is unable to stop herself from falling more and more in love with him.

‘Wicked Innocence’ is more than a story about a rock band. Both Micah and Sax have their share of personal demons, and Missy has written a story that shows their growth, and the forgiveness that each must both give and receive. I always enjoy reading Missy’s books, and would love to see a continuation of this story, especially for Sax.

Two radio show hosts. One show. Who will come out on top?

But when the arrogant sportscaster next door tells listeners men shouldn’t get married, she’s all too happy to yank the silver spoon out of his overprivileged mouth.

Their heated on-air arguments are a hit, but when the station director forces them to do a joint show for two weeks, Tate and Noelle object. Tracey’s Review

He said, she said. A problem as old as time, and one not easily solved. Can two people with completely different ideas about how relationships should work ever come to an understanding?

Noelle Butler is the host of Noelle Knows, the ‘premiere relationship/love advice talk show in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.’ She believes in forever love, the kind of romantic love that sweeps you off your feet and only gets better with time. Tate Grayson hosts a sports show, and is of the mind that true love does not exist, and that commitment is something to be avoided at all costs. When the two radio personalities are forced to share airtime and work together in an effort to boost station ratings, they decide on a little friendly competition designed to show which attitude is correct. But as they spend more time together working on their ‘experiment,’ something happens, something that neither one expects. Combativeness gives way to friendship, which, in turn, gives way to attraction and, yes, love. But will Tate, who is bound and determined that he is right, and that love can’t last, be able to admit that he’s been proved wrong and give in to that love?

The plot of ‘Tell Me Something Good’ is entertaining and well-written, and move along nicely. Noelle and Tate made good foils for each other, and their banter was both feisty and endearing. I very much enjoyed this book, and look forward to reading more from Jamie Wesley.

Author Bio

jamie wesleyJamie Wesley has been reading romance novels since she was about 12 when her mother left a romance novel, which a friend had given her, on the nightstand. Jamie read it instead, and the rest is history.

She started her first manuscript, a contemporary romance, after she graduated from Northwestern University in 2002 and couldn’t find a job. Life got in the way as it often does, i.e. she found a job, and she didn’t finish the story. However, she never forgot about it and finally got serious about completing it in 2009. And then she finished a few more stories. In 2012, her manuscript, TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD was named a finalist in RWA’s Golden Heart competition and will be published by Entangled Publishing in 2014.

Jamie holds a master’s degree in sport management (yes, that’s a real thing 🙂 ) from the University of Texas at Austin, so it probably comes as no surprise that she loves sports and spends an inordinate amount of time rooting for her hometown Dallas’s pro sports teams and her alma maters.

She also adores Walt Disney World, shopping, and pop culture. Want to know if your favorite TV show is going to be canceled or what the newest Disney attraction is? Ask Jamie. She’ll probably know the answer.

Staff Sergeant Mike Kowalski wants only one thing after he gets home from Iraq: to sleep in a king-sized bed with clean sheets. But first, he has to hand off his fallen commander’s dog, Trooper, to his family without handing off his heart to Sierra…

Sierra McDaniel needs a break. Her family life is crazy, and when she’s not mucking out kennels, she’s slogging through grad school. Sierra certainly doesn’t want another dog, especially one that reminds her of her father. And she definitely doesn’t want to see Mike with that charming smile of his…

But Trooper has a mission of his own. Before too long Mike is moving to the ranch to lend a hand—and hoping for his own second chance with Sierra.

Michel’s Review

I am a huge fan of Catherine Mann. From her Military Romances to Romantic Suspense, every book has been very good. Shelter Me rose to the high standards Catherine has set with her other books. The thing that made Shelter Me stand out even more was that the book was told from Trooper’s (the dog) point of view throughout the book. One would think that is ridiculous but it worked!

Shelter Me is the story of loss, surviving, and rebuilding. It shows the heartbreak of losing loved ones and finding a new way to live life without that loved one there. It is a story of finding a love that makes every good and bad thing in the past worth experiencing. It is a story of healing.

Sierra and Mike are brought together because of Trooper. All three of them have lost the one man that touched their hearts in different ways. For Sierra it was her father, for Mike it was his Commander, and for Trooper it was his Master.

When Mike delivers Trooper to Sierra, he finds her struggling to keep the family ranch going. Before Mike knows it, he is lending a hand and hoping for a second chance with Sierra. Trooper is on a mission to bring these two people, his family together.

This book was beautifully written and had a powerful message. I loved all the characters, especially Trooper. This is a book you will not be able to put down.

By Susan Donovan

Synopsis

A mermaid statue could be the cause of heartbreak or everlasting romance for a practical-minded police chief and his first love—in the second of the delicious Bayberry Island trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Susan Donovan….

Every instinct told Police Chief Clancy Flynn that his island’s claim to fame was nothing but a silly tourist attraction. But now and then, he couldn’t help but wonder if his lifetime of bad romances—starting with the pretty tourist who broke his fourteen-year-old heart—could be traced back to a childhood prank involving that very statue….

Then one day the pretty tourist comes barreling back into Bayberry—all grown-up and on the run with her niece. Though Evelyn McGuinness is wanted for kidnapping, she tries to persuade Clancy that there’s more to the story. Now the by-the-book police chief must make the toughest decision of his life: to take Evelyn into custody—or into his arms….

Tracey’s Review

Life as Evelyn McGuinness has taken a turn for the surreal. On the run to protect her niece, she has returned to the place that she first found love. Clancy Flynn, now the chief of police of Bayberry Island, Massachusetts, remembers that summer, too and fondly, which is funny, given that he doesn’t even believe in love. When Fate, or a Mermaid, bring Clancy and Evelyn together again, though, he wonders if second chance love is possible.

All of the characters in the book are just so real that you can imagine meeting and happily spending time with them, and Bayberry Island is the perfect setting for them. The chemistry between Clancy and Evelyn is palpable and engaging, and, while steady and supportive, is also pretty darned hot. And the secondary characters are great, especially Mona’s Mermettes and the nudist community folks. 🙂

The Sweetest Summer has so many things going for it. Susan Donovan has brought action, myth, family, and love together to create a story that grabbed me from the first page and had me reading steadily until the end. That, for me, is the mark of a really good book, and one that I heartily recommend.

Michel’s Review

No Attachments by Tiffany King is book one in the Woodfalls Girls series. It has been previously released in ebook and is now available in print.

No Attachments is a strong start for the New Adult Woodfalls Girls series.

Ashton moved to Woodfalls to start a new life in a small town. She gave up a life of comfort, familiarity, and ease. She chose to settle in a new town, make new friends, and enjoy the simple life. She has kept her motivations and past life a secret.

One of the goals she has set in her new life is to experience items on her bucket list. One of those items is having a one night stand.

Ashton is a bit nerdy and a little socially inept. Her mouth doesn’t always say the right thing but she has enough sass to make it endearing. Doing a one night stand is totally out of character for her. But when a stranger comes to town, she can’t let this opportunity slip by.

Nathan was hired to find Ashton. It is no chance meeting. But when Nathan meets Ashton he is intrigued. It gives him the opportunity to get to know more about her with No Attachments.

When the past comes to light and Nathan discovers Ashton secret everything will change.

No Attachments had just the right amount of mystery, intrigue, emotional angst, and a delightful romance. It is written from duo POV’s. It was touching, emotional, and heartfelt.

The Woodfall Girls series is one I think most New Adult fans will enjoy. No Attachments and Misunderstandings can both be read as stand alone novels. The characters are connected through Woodfalls friendships. Each has their own story.

Synopsis

Jackson Cooper hates magic. Even though his brothers are falling prey to the seductive draw of the paranormal world, Jackson wants nothing to do with it. He also wants nothing to do with marriage, babies, and all that comes with it. He’s content with being the stoic, but quiet Uncle Jacks. But when a woman from his past, one he’s been dodging for years, comes back to town, Jackson might have to reevaluate his plans.

Honor Bridges is the tooth fairy. Well, not the tooth fairy, but at least one of them. For the past eight years she’s been on her own, hiding from what she truly wants. Now she’s back in Holiday and ready to take over her duties…as well as deal with Jackson once and for all. But there’s another player in town who isn’t happy with the decisions she made all those years ago and Jackson might be the one who takes the brunt of that anger.

Warning: Contains a wickedly spicy tooth fairy–complete with sparkly wings, the most tortured of all the Cooper brothers in all his broodiness, and dreams that are sure to make you never want to wake up in this final Cooper Brother’s installment of the Holiday, Montana series.

Tracey’s Review

Holiday, Montana, is a small town that is filled with folks that are touched with magic, and some that are not. Jackson Cooper, the eldest of the Cooper men, hates magic. Like, absolutely loathes it, and wants nothing to do with it. Which is problematic, because all of his brothers and their families are magical in some way. Enter Honor Bridges. Honor’s Aunt Clementine is the Queen of the Tooth Fairies, and Honor is a tooth fairy herself. She and Jackson have a past, which refuses to stay buried when she returns to Holiday. Although they try to deny that the spark is still there, it comes roaring to life, stronger than ever. And when Honor becomes the target of someone intent on keeping her from doing her magical duty, things get messy and very dangerous.

It’s no secret that I really like paranormal romance. And, when it’s a really neat idea, well-executed, with great characters and an engaging plot, I am a happy lady. ‘Dreams of Ivory’ hits every one of these marks. The plot flows nicely, and, even though I hadn’t read any of the previous books in the series, there was plenty of back story that filled in the gaps. The chemistry between Jackson and Honor is super-hot, making for some very steamy scenes. And all of the secondary characters, from Honor’s aunt,to Sam the Sandman, to all of the Coopers, wives of Coopers, and mini Coopers, are wonderful. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the world of Holiday, and have every intention of going back to the beginning of the series so that I can meet all of the inhabitants of Holiday. Happily, too, even though ‘Dreams of Ivory’ is the last of the ‘Holiday, Montana’ books, Carrie Ann will be introducing an off-shoot of the series in 2016, which I am very much looking forward to.

carrie ann ryanNew York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.
