Marz nuzzled the side of Emilie’s face with his nose, his lips. She turned her face toward him and offered her lips. He couldn’t refuse.

Capturing her mouth on a tortured groan, Marz poured every ounce of his longing and confusion and desire into the kiss. They grasped at each other and Emilie turned in his arms. He pinned her against the railing and planted his hands in her hair. She opened to him and accepted his tongue, sucking him in until Marz’s blood ran hot and his hard-on ached. He dove back in, trailing kisses down her neck to her collarbone, which he traced with his tongue. Her nails scratched deliciously at his scalp and her grip urged him down.

Through the thin material of her blouse and bra, he mouthed and flicked at her nipple. He shifted the deep vee of the neckline to reveal a lacy royal blue bra. He tongued her through the lace until she was panting and moaning and writhing against the railing.

“Oh, my God,” she rasped as he shifted her shirt and moved to her other breast. This time, he tugged the lace down to bare the deep pink of her nipple. She tasted and smelled like something fruity and sweet, and it made Marz hunger for more. “Derek,” she gasped. “Yes, yes, yes.”

Her palm cupped and squeezed the bulge of his erection through his jeans. His hips jerked into the touch, craving more of her, all of her. He groaned and it seemed to egg her on, because she pressed and rubbed her hand against his trapped cock until he was panting and imagining taking her down to the ground.

Laura Kaye has added another superb addition to the Hard Ink series. If you have not read the Hard Ink series or any of Laura’s books, I would highly recommend all of her books. Her writing is flawless. She weaves a tale that is gripping in so many ways. Her books are emotional, witty, and loaded with suspense. Her characters are larger than life and jump off the pages. Readers easily embrace them in their hearts. The books are meticulously plotted and each passage is delivered with great care. Her books flow with ease and each scene is like watching a movie.

Hard To Come By continues the series plot. This special ops team was set up, betrayed, and dishonorably discharged. Their records have been tarnished. Their reputation has ruined. Their personal characters have been destroyed. They are trying to get to the bottom of this betrayal that destroyed their lives. There is more at stake than their personal reputations. The conspiracy runs deep.

Derek DiMarzio, known as Marz, is the techie of the group. He can break any password, find hidden info in the cyber world haystack, and is a data geru. He is also the comedian of the group and has a way of keeping the guys from getting mired down by the crap they have endured. He has sacrificed more than his reputation and career for the army. When I chose the ARC copy of Undefeated, I thought I was getting a light hearted sports romance with the typical story line. I love any kind of book that is based upon a hockey team and their players. What I didn’t count on was getting a deep, emotional book that dealt with some heavy issues. Needless to say, this book was a rewarding surprise. I enjoyed every single word, the complex characters, and the emotional angst they experienced.

Liam McAllister has come back from the war with a severe case of PTSD. He served as medic for three tours in Afghanistan. He is haunted by the memories of soldiers he couldn’t save, the soldiers that were maimed for life, and the atrocities committed against innocent civilians. He can’t get these horrific memories out of his head and it is affecting his life. He has become anti social, aggressive, withdrawn, and very uncomfortable around crowds. He is not assimilating back into civilian life very well. He is struggling to survive his daily life and routines. The one thing that is helping him is being a member of the Bomb Squad Hockey Team.

The Bomb Squad Hockey team is a recreational community team compiled of wounded veterans. Some are missing limbs, some are suffering from PTSD, and all of them have some kind of issue. Their former war experiences have bonded them together. They are more than teammates. They are brothers. Hockey is more than a sport for them. It is an outlet that allows them to vent their aggression, pent up hostilities, and antsy feelings on the ice rather than in their personal lives. It is their therapy.

Marlena Brodie is a yoga instructor. She is a very spiritual person. She understands PTSD because she suffers from her own version of it. She was attacked as a child. She has embraced the wholesome new age lifestyle as a means to dealing with her memories. When she meets Liam she recognizes a kindred soul. She understands him more than he understands himself. She can deal with his outbursts, bad attitude, and triggers. She truly sees the real man that he is beneath all of the pain and suffering. She stands by him and helps him deal with the emotional scars he carries.

Liam and Marlena are perfect for one another. Their relationship goes beyond the explosive sexual chemistry. They are both very aware of their own issues but also aware of each other’s pain. They have an unique understanding of each other. They lend each other their strengths. They support their weaknesses. They soothe the pain. They give each other the kind of love that heals the soul. They have learned to set aside their own issues and put the other ones needs first. That is the true meaning of love.

Melissa Cutler wrote a beautiful emotional story. Not only were the main characters compelling, the secondary characters each had a story. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. These wounded warrior hockey players have captured my heart.

Susan Whitmore has what some might call a strong personality. Nicknamed ‘The Barracuda,’ Susan is not known for her patience and shiny happy outlook. As a big fan of Becky McGraw and her cowboy heartthrobs, I was very excited to learn that she was writing a new series featuring Dave Logan and his Lonestar Heroes. Becky’s knack for creating stories starring hot alpha men and sassy spirited women has made her a favorite of mine, and she absolutely does not disappoint with this book. Dave Logan is one strong and sexy man, and when he and Susan go to work on a case together, it is hot, hot, hot. These are two people that are not afraid to speak their minds, and to take what they want from life. Laughing out loud and fanning myself by turn, I sped through TILL DEATH, loving the way that Dave and Susan interact with each other, and with the other members of the Deep Six crew. I am looking forward to seeing the other guys get their books, and will happily add them to my TBR. Michel’s Review

The Social Media Series by JA Huss has been an erotic and action packed experience. Each episode has left readers on the edge of their seats. The ending was bittersweet and pure perfection for Grace and Vaughn.

I am not going to say too much and give away spoilers. The one thing I will say is that Grace became a stronger woman. She learned to open her heart and let love in. She learned that she is just as much Daisy as she is Grace. Combine the two together and Vaughn has the perfect woman. Vaughn surprised me throughout this series. He grew emotionally and proved to Grace, as well as the world, that he is a man of honor.

I loved the Social Media series. I highly recommend this series. JA Huss is a gifted writer that always delivers more than a sensational romance.

Once a year, women have that one appointment that we all look forward to (dramatic eye roll) where nothing is left private as a doctor stares at your lady bits and conducts the ole favorite of, “you’re gonna feel some pressure” before inserting a speculum and administering that annual exam.

So low and behold that while in Huntington, WV for the Rebels and Readers book event do I spot with my little green eyes, a cover so glorious that I pick it up to read the blurb on the back.

“Certain men. Certain professions. Something things are just universally sexy. But maybe not quite this sexy… Lay back for me.”

Pulling a “what the,” I ask the author Angela Graham if this is a book about a girl and her gynecologist. To my shock she affirms that yes it is a book just about that. Although insanely creepy, the plot was so unique I had to check it out, so I shoved over my $10 and couldn’t wait to break into the binding.

This book was a complete surprise! Not only was it masterfully written, evoking and touching those emotions all us ladies feel about that dreaded appointment, the plot was clever and the characters were just likeable.

Addison has always been close to her older brother, Dylan and his best friend, Brady. When Brady, a doctor, and also a close family friend advises Addison to take precautions on her health he does the unthinkable by setting her up an appointment with the only gynecologist in town. Humiliated and absolutely frightened about her upcoming first appointment, Addison takes us on a journey that has the readers laughing. From “prepping” for the appointment to the “thoughts” while waiting for the doctor, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. When in walks Mr. Reynolds, Addison is put face to face with the ultimate test, don’t panic, remain calm, and don’t maul the hot doc. Hall and Graham have created a true masterpiece with this story and not to mention a complete twist that will leave readers “oohing” and “aahing” for days to cum…..

I have rated Stirred Up with 5-meticulous stars. This book had a solid story-line, well defined and developed characters, and one mind blowing twist. The emotion the female lead is able to exemplify to the readers is honest and accurate, taking on something all women dread once a year. This is a Highly recommended read.

She smiled against his lips, her fingers tightening in his hair. “I just thought…”

“Thinking gets you nowhere,” he whispered just before he took the kiss deeper, his tongue thrusting, his mouth devouring. She was a thinker, which meant she set her brain to smoking more often than not. And he wanted her feeling, not thinking or worrying.

He gripped her hips with both hands and pulled her in, wanting her as close as he could get her. This…thing between them had been brewing for a while, torturing him. She’d been by his side almost constantly the past few months, guiding his career, carefully preserving his image.

Sinfully sexy forbidden romance.

Game for Tonight is the perfect forbidden romance. Aubrey is there to make sure that Flynn’s good boy image is solid. He is a virgin and they have spun that into his marketing campaign. He is completely off-limits for Aubrey but she just can’t help herself.

Game for Tonight is a stand alone read. It is Aubrey and Flynn’s story but you also get to see Jared and Sheridan again and Nick and Willow again. I think I would have enjoyed this read even more if I had read the other books in this series. It is obvious that the infatuation between Aubrey and Flynn has been going on for quite a while. Karen delivers in the sensuality department as Flynn and Aubrey create lots of steam between the sheets. The idea of a sexy football star being so focused that he has not slept with any of the women that have thrown themselves at his is intriguing. Karen does an excellent job developing her characters in this series.

Aubrey is a good girl with a kind heart and really is the perfect match for Flynn. The problem is that Aubrey has been holding on to a horrible secret and just when things are looking great for she and Flynn to have their happily ever after, her confession might be just enough to tear them apart. Imagine having to work with someone who you were head over heels in love with who would not give you the time of day because of one stupid mistake.

If you like forbidden romance with lots of sizzle and spice you will enjoy Game for Tonight.

Nights With Him is one of Lauren’s sexiest books yet. A sex toy mogul and a shrink make a powerful and explosive couple in and out of the bedroom. Michelle knows what she wants and is not afraid to tell Jack what she needs.

This story is about more than sex though. It is about intimacy, family, and friendship. Both Jack and Michelle have excess baggage from previous relationships that play a key role in the distance they keep between each other.

Jack also has a secret from his past that only his sister knows about that is eating him up inside and preventing him from letting his guard down. Michelle loved Clay from afar for so many years that any other man paled in her eyes and when she finally finds the man that makes her forget Clay she is afraid to give him her heart.

There are so many external variables at play that cause this couple to have quite the rocky relationship. The fact that Jack was on Michelle’s books as a potential patient is something that a well renowned psychiatrist does not want to happen. Michelle is very ethical in her practice and being with Jack could put her on shaky ground. There is also the fact that Jack sells sex toys to all sorts of people including those that own BDSM clubs. Michelle being a specialist on relationships and intimacy could be seen negatively as she steps into the spotlight with Jack Sullivan “Soldier-turned-Sex Toy Mogul”. The rollercoaster ride this couple ends up on will keep you turning the pages. When private emails become public and secrets are exposed you will find yourself wondering whether Jack is worth all the trouble.

In the end though, the heart wants what the heart wants even if it is not practical or in our best interest. When you fall in love you can’t help but fall fast and hard and nothing truly matters once you finally find your soul mate.

Lauren again weaves a very sexy and emotional story with several plot twists that will keep the reader turning the pages. She builds really strong characters that complement each other very nicely. Lauren gives us a very strong leading lady in Michelle Milo. Michelle is the perfect match for Jack as she is smart and sophisticated as well as sexy and seductive.

I am actually walking away from this read more in love with the heroine than the hero. Don’t get me wrong. Jack is sexy as hell and loves to dirty talk with his woman but Michelle gives it back to him even better. She is just as dirty, if not dirtier than Jack in the bed, up against the wall, on a train, or at a concert…

Nights With Him is an excellent addition to the Seductive Nights Series. Readers will fall in love with Jack and Michelle as much as they did with Julia and Clay. Bravo Lauren on another exciting and sexy read!

Sexual Awakenings Part 1 is subtitled The Waltz. A waltz is a smooth progressive dance (thank you, Wikipedia), and Book 1 is just that. As Violet moves from her old life into a more adventurous one where she can discover who she really is, she is aided by Rhys Volz, owner of The Rabbit Hole, an alternative lifestyle club. With Rhys’ help, Violet is able to begin to grow as a woman and strip away those things in her life, like her husband Alex and her sham of a marriage, that are keeping her from being truly happy. But then, the misstep: Violet lies to Rhys about her relationship with Alex, bringing about an abrupt and very definite change in the dynamics of their relationship.

But, if Part 1 is a waltz, Part 2 is most definitely a tango, as the tempo of Violet’s and Rhys’ interactions has changed from smooth and progressive to fiery and tempestuous. They have moved from an easy foray into a less vanilla lifestyle to Code Red territory, where Rhys calls the shots, and Violet obeys.

This book was a big change from the first one. Rhys makes absolutely no bones about the fact that lying is a deal-breaker for him, which Angelica has hinted at throughout both installments of the series. He is harder and crueler with Violet, taking their roles as Dom and Sub to some fairly dark places. But rather than be subdued by this, Violet finds a strength inside herself to really take charge of her life, and continue making the changes that will help define her the way that she wants to be. We find, too, that Rhys has been keeping a pretty big secret himself, providing a great segue into the next book.

I am completely hooked on this series, and cannot wait for THE LAST DANCE and CURTAINS, to find out what is in store for Rhys and Violet. Grab this one, book lovers, because it is not to be missed.

The Indebted Series is a Dark Erotic Thriller series. It is intended for ADULT READERS.

This book may touch on some of your hardcore limits. There is mental abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, implications of gang rape, and implications of murder. She has just made her mark in the Haute couture world. What should have been a celebration has turned into a nightmare. Jethro Hawk has come to collect the debt her family owes. First Debt

Jethro gave Nila the opportunity to try to escape knowing that she would fail. He had to admire her will and strength in character. He had to break that will and break Nila in order to carry out the first debt. What Jethro didn’t count on was Nila testing his strength of will.

As the plot unfolds the readers will get a glimpse of who Jethro Hawk is. He is more than meets the eye. Readers will begin to sympathize with Jethro even though he is a horrific villain that holds Nila’s life in his hands. Her fate has been decreed for over six hundred years. Why does she have to pay for the crimes of her ancestors. Why do the Hawks insist on carrying out a six hundred year old debt?

In First Debt the readers will get more of a history lesson about the sins committed by the Weavers towards the Hawks. The readers will witness Nila carrying out her first debt payment. It is horrific for both Nila and Jethro.

The Hawks are harboring more than a six hundred year resentment towards the Weavers. They see this six hundred year old proclamation as a way of proving their power, defying the common law, and testing the future Hawk Legacy. It doesn’t matter that they are enslaving and murdering innocent young Weaver women. These innocents are nothing but a pawn in the bigger picture of the Hawk Legacy.

As I said, readers will begin to see parts of the complex and troubled Jethro Hawk. We will also get an introduction to some of the other Hawk family members. It will leave readers puzzled about who is good and who is bad.

Enough of the history is revealed to keep readers hooked. The chemistry between Jethro and Nila will fuel a fire that could possibly burn them both. Their fates have been written by royal decree. Can they make their own fate?

Who knows…only the brilliant mind of Pepper Winters. The next book will be out in early 2015. How many more debts will Nila have to pay? Will Jethro be paying the debt with her? How can they defy a six hundred year old decree?

Before We Fall by Courtney Cole takes you on an emotional journey as you follow the lives of two very broken people on the path to redemption. In the beginning I did not like Jacey or Dominic. At 20 percent of the way through this read I almost put it down. I had a hard time identifying with these characters. They were dirty and perverted and I had their path already plotted in my head. I decided since I was reviewing this for Romance @ Random that I would continue reading the story.

Dominic Kinkaide has been dealing with horrible guilt for the past six years because he blames himself for a terribly tragedy that was no one’s fault. No matter what he does he can’t get over it. He has decided that he is only worthy of sexual perversion and will not allow himself to get emotionally attached to anyone. He has accepted that he is a monster and shuts everyone around him out of his life. This makes him lonely, bitter, and unbearable to be around.

Jacey Vincent is working as a high priced scantily clad cocktail waitress as she puts herself through school. She allows men to ogle her and grope her for tips. She is one step up from stripping. She looks at it as a job and the money is good. She does not plan on doing it forever but what she does not completely realize is that her image gives others the impression that she is cheap and easy.

When Jacey meets Dominic Kinkaide at a party she is working, she is awestruck. She can see that he is wrestling some serious demons. Sparks fly between the two of them and Dominic is intrigued but blows her off like every other woman he comes across. He does not believe that she will be any different than any of the women who want him just because he is famous.

I really thought I had this story pegged but boy was I wrong. These characters possess deep dark secrets worse than you could ever imagine. Their path to redemption is very rocky and emotionally gripping. I was up until 1:30 a.m. reading because there was no way possible for me to predict what was going to happen next. Courtney Cole is a masterful plotter and she really took this story twisted and turned it and then dropped a bomb that I never saw coming. She also throws in a tiny paranormal twist in epilogue that brings the reader right back to the beginning of the book. This book was so much more than I ever imagined it could be. The supporting cast was written so well that I can’t wait to read each of their stories. The phrase I think that sticks out for everyone in this read is “before we fall, we fly”.

My interpretation of this phrase is that when two people begin to fall in love they fly. Everything is wonderful and they live in a bubble and have this feeling of euphoria before they fall deeply and madly in love. You have to fly first and feel all that is good before you can truly fall in love taking the good with the bad.

I am really looking forward to reading more books in this series.
