“What do you want?” I slump down on the couch, still eyeing her.

“A chat.”

“About what?”

“About ground rules.” She shrugs her shoulders. “It won’t take long,” she adds as she catches my alarmed glance. “Now that it’s clear we’re expected to share this apartment, we need to

discuss how—”

“The answer is no.” I jump to my feet again. “I didn’t come here to be told by a woman what I can or can’t do.”

“But—” She leans forward and her frown deepens. “—you haven’t heard me out yet.”

“True. But you see, I know what women want from me, and the answer is no. Are you done?” I make a point to take a step toward the door.

To be honest, I’m enjoying myself. I enjoy winding her up.

Her face distorts into anger, just as I expected. “That’s so sexist of you. You have no idea what I’ll ask of you.”

“Believe it or not, I do. You’ll want what all other women want.”

“Again, so sexist. But you’re wrong.”

No woman has ever called me a sexist. “What are you saying?”

“You got it all wrong,” she repeats.

I take a step toward her, my gaze buried in her blazing eyes. “Let me prove that I’m right. If I make a correct guess, I want you to go out with me.”

Shock crosses her features. I can see it in the way her eye widen the moment her mind processes the meaning of my words. At last, she leans back, the shock replaced with surprise. “You want to go out with me?”

Surprise and complete disbelief.

What’s so hard to believe that yes, I’d take her out to dinner and then I’d rock both the bed and her world?

“Yes,” I say slowly.

She frowns. “Why?”

“To get to know you better.” Among many things.

“We barely met half a hour ago.”

“That’s correct.” I’ve taken out women I knew for less than ten minutes, so half an hour is pretty long for me.

She frowns again, and her confusion deepens. “I don’t get it. Why would you ask me?”

“Because you’d like it.” Not just dinner, but everything else I have to offer.

“You don’t know me well enough to say that I’d like it or you.” She bites down on her lip. “I honestly don’t know why you’d ask me. Besides, there’s nowhere to go really. If you’re familiar with the renovation plans, you surely know that everything within a mile is closed.”

My smile turns into a grin. She hasn’t said no yet.

To be more precise, she’s absolutely not adverse to the idea, and she doesn’t seem to know about the “don’t fuck other patients” rule either.

“Is that the only thing you’re concerned about? That I won’t find a suitable place to take you out?”

“No.” She leans back and flips a strand of hair out of her eyes. “I’ve got another one for you. How about: my boyfriend’s waiting for me at home.”

She’s playing the boyfriend card. Haven’t heard this one in a while.

“A boyfriend I really love and never want to hurt,” she adds, her eyes challenging me. “I appreciate the offer, though. I’m sure you mean well, but really, no, thanks, I can’t.”

My lips twitch. She eyes me with mistrust. “What’s so funny?”

“I’m just playing with you,” I say. “Even if I wanted to, we couldn’t date. There are way too many rules here. Dating a fellow addict breaks a couple of them.”

She frowns as she processes my words. “Rules?”

“You didn’t know?” My smile widens at her alarmed expression.

Love Addicts Anonymous by J. C. Reed and Jackie Steele is unlike anything I have read before.  After I finished the book all I could think is I want more… more… more!  Part one was not enough!  It only scratched the surface and I have no idea how this story will unfold.  I do know it will be entertaining and hopefully emotional.

Love Addicts Anonymous introduces the characters and they are something else.  Kade Wright is a sex addict.  It’s obvious he’s brilliant, charming, and emotionally void.  He gets bored easily and loves the excitement sex brings to the table.

Vicky Sullivan is a kind, sweet, beautiful woman that is in love with love.  She’s addicted to romance.  She has an unhealthy obsession with Jane Austin and Mr. Darcy.  Her obsessions have led her down a very destructive path.

Both Kade and Vicky have been forced into rehab.  This new rehab center has a new progressive program for love addicts.  This new program has put  a sex addict and a romance addict together as roommates.

They are both interesting people.  They are both a little batsh#t crazy.  Together they may break the rules of the program or they may just find the right kind of emotions that make a real relationship successful.

Part one introduces the characters and gets the reader intrigued with their rehab program. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Take My Dare by J. Kenner is a visit into Jackson and Sylvia’s happily ever after.  It fast forwards to a few years later.  They have been building a happy life and added another member to the family.  They are now parents to two precious children.  Everything in their life seems to be perfect.  Their careers are soaring, the passion is even stronger in their married life, and Jackson has built a brotherly relationship with Damien Stark.  Even though their life is wonderful, it’s not absolutely perfect.

Sylvia’s father is about to be released from prison.  She’s still dealing with his betrayal when she was young.  She’s still harboring some resentments but at the same time feels the love she thought she lost as a young woman.  And then there’s the cause that ruined her relationship with her parents… the provocative pictures taken when she was young.  After all this time they are still out there.

The pictures have resurfaced and someone is trying to blackmail her.  This time around she has so much more to lose.  She could lose her family.

Jackson and Sylvia have built a solid strong relationship.  Pictures cannot tear them apart. Sylvia has to decide how she wants to handle the situation.  With Jackson in her corner, she finally has the power of choice that she didn’t have as a teenager.

I loved this addition to Jackson and Sylvia’s story.  It gave them complete closure to the past.  It also showed the strength of their love.

Last Ride by Chantal Fernando brings the Wind Dragons MC full circle.  This novella not only features the couple that started it all, it also packs some surprises, and takes the series in a new direction.  I have become addicted to the Wind Dragons MC and the dynamic men and women that make this series come alive.

Dex (aka Sin ) is the president of the Wind Dragons MC.  His old lady Faye is the heart of the Wind Dragons.  Her dynamic personality, the ability to cut through the bull, and her fierce dedication has earned the respect of these hard core bikers.  She is rock for the other old ladies who love these complicated men.  She is also a mother of two young children, a lawyer, and consultant for the FBI.  She tackles everything in her life with gusto and grace. When Faye becomes missing the Wind Dragons are frantic.

The Wind Dragons don’t know where to begin the search.  Could it be their rival enemy The Kings MC or is it something sinister that she’s working on with the FBI?  Sin is lost without Faye.  He doesn’t feel like he is doing his job as the leader of the Wind Dragons.  He can’t separate his love for Faye and the duties demanded by the club.

All In by Emma Scott is the second book in the Full Tilt Duet.  It should not be read as a stand alone novel.  It is the sequel to Full Tilt.

I knew when I downloaded this book I needed to wait for the perfect time to read this book. I needed to read this book when I was alone and could allow my emotions to explode.  I knew it was going to emotionally wreck me after reading Full Tilt.  I was a blubbering mess and went through a big box of tissues.  I felt like I lost one of my own.

A sequel to a book with such a moving story is very hard to follow up.  Like the characters in the book, the reader is also afraid to move on and let go.  I’m sure it is the same for the writer.  Emma Scott did a wonderful job with All In.  She took great care with all of the characters without diminishing one moment of the first book, Full Tilt.  She wrote a story about real life and very real emotions every human being will experience at some point in their life.  She handled each moment and each emotion with great care.  That is what makes this duet a 6 Star Publication.

All In begins shortly after Full Tilt ended.  After losing Jonah, the Fletcher family, his close friends, and Kacey are buried in their grief.  The loss affected everyone quite differently but was felt deeply by all.  Even though Jonah left his legacy in the art world, his greatest legacy was the deep abiding love he gave to those he cared most about.  He touched each of their souls and left the best part of himself with them.  How can they go on after losing a man that touched them so deeply?

Kacey could not handle losing Jonah.  Her grief has consumed her. She had to leave Las Vegas because every where she turned she was reminded of Jonah.  Instead of embracing the support and sharing her grief, she fled to New Orleans.  She has returned to burying herself in the bottle and is back on the path of self destruction.  She can’t get past the loss, she can’t completely grieve because she can’t deal with her emotions. Her life is on a downward spiral to rock bottom.  Thankfully there are a few caring people in New Orleans that contact Theo Fletcher.

Theo Fletcher is still grieving his brother’s death. He has always been the rock in the Fletcher family. He stood by Jonah’s side during his illness. He attended every doctors appointment, made sure he followed his health care regimen, and helped him finish the art installation. He’s lost without his best friend, his brother Jonah.  Now he’s going through the motions to fullfill one of Jonah’s wishes, to open his own tattoo shop.  He’s back in school taking business courses.  He’s also putting up a front for his family and friends.  His parents are falling apart.  They are both dealing with their grief differently and depending too much on Theo. He keeps his own grief bottled up tight.

When his brother’s girlfriend disappeared  from Las Vegas, he felt he had broken one his brother’s dying wishes.  He had promised Jonah that he would take care of Kacey.  He also made a promise to love her.  His family was devastated to lose Kacey after losing Jonah.  When a phone call from New Orleans leads him back to Kacey, Jonah’s final gift will be presented to Kacey and Theo.  First they have to get past the grief, accept Jonah’s death, and learn to live their lives once again.  They need to learn to lean on each other and also learn take care of themselves.  It’s time to heal and live again.  Only then will they be ready for Jonah’s final gift, the greatest legacy he could leave… the gift of love.

Once again Emma Scott had my full attention and engaged every emotion.  I was a blubbering mess and felt I was living my life alongside of Kacey and Theo. I felt their loss, their fear of letting go, and most of all their fear of beginning a new life.

I was All In when I read this book.

Emma Scott is a gifted writer.  Her words were more than a story, they were a profound emotional experience.

I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster this book would take me on. I began reading this book to pass the time on our family vacation. I found myself a blubbering mess without the adequate amount of tissues needed to read this book.

Without giving away spoilers I am just going to say this book had a powerful message. Love is what validates life. It is what makes the soul thrive. It’s the one thing that makes our day worth while. It’s the one thing that will keep memories alive.

Emma Scott did a beautiful job with this book. I highly recommend reading this with a full box of tissues.

Kim Karr has become one of my favorite authors.  The moment one of her books downloads on my kindle, I disappear from my own life and become immersed in the new world Kim has created.  I am held captive to that world until I have read the very last word.

Bedwrecker is a spin off of No Pants Required.  It can be read as a stand alone novel.  It features Makayla’s best friend: Maggie and Brooklyn’s brother, as well as Cam’s best friend; Keen.

Maggie has gone to New York City with her friends from Laguna Beach to celebrate the New Year .  Cam and Makayla are hoping that she and Brooklyn will finally hook up and become the perfect couple like they are.  The problem is the chemistry is just not there.  They are both looking for something else on New Year’s Eve.  Maggie finds her something else when she is introduced to Cam’s best friend Keen.  The attraction and chemistry is through the roof.  It is insta- lust between the two.  Their one night stand changes both their lives.  Aside from burning up the sheets, their souls are marked by one another.  Fate has a way of stepping in and changing the intended course.  It makes well made plans into fickle promises that are easily broken.

Keen promised Maggie he would come to see her in two weeks.  Two weeks later she hasn’t heard a word from Keen.  It’s like he dropped off the face of the earth.  When he finally shows up it’s months later it’s a little too late.  Keen has valid explanations.  Maggie has had too many “valid” explanations.  She’s moving on.  The problem is neither can escape their undeniable chemistry.  They can’t escape matters of the heart.  They both will have to face their pasts, their insecurities, and open their hearts.

Keen came to California to start a new life.  His new life includes Maggie.

Once again Kim Karr knocked it out of the park.  This fun, sizzling hot romance had everything a reader wants.  The creative dialogue, dynamic characters, and complex story wrapped into a sexy, yet, very romantic package makes Bedwrecker a five star book.

Brooklyn is up next… I wonder what Kim will give this sexy bad boy.
