My eyes move to the magazines on the table. There’s a sports mag peeking out from under the fashion mags.

Leaning forward, I pull it out, instantly wishing I hadn’t.

I already know what the media say about me. How I’ve turned from a great racer into a drunk, and a whore.

They’re not wrong on the whore part – well, whore is a bit harsh, I don’t charge for my services. And I wouldn’t say I’m a drunk. I just like to drink, a lot.

I shouldn’t read the article, I know this, but the sadistic part of me has me turning those pages.

Finding the article, eyes scanning the text, I pick out the usual shit.

Why is Silva no longer racing? Physically he’s healthy. Is it mental problems? Fear over racing because of his accident. Is that why he drinks – drowning his misery in alcohol? Such a shame to see, a once great driver, fall from grace so dramatically.

Frustration and rage grip my chest like a vice.

Fuck this. I don’t need this shit.

Even though I can’t race, it’s not like I actually need to.

I don’t need to race. I just need to drink and fuck. That’s all I need now. All I’ll ever need.

Liar.

I am a liar, and a chicken shit. And that’s why I’m sitting in the waiting room of a therapist.

Maybe I’m beyond help.

Tossing the magazine back on the table, I get to my feet ready to leave this place, just as the door opens, revealing the epitome of what I could really do with screwing right now.

My eyes trail up the toned, tanned legs, to the fitted pencil skirt that I would happily hitch up to see the magnificent pussy that I bet lies beneath. A pale pink blouse is tucked into that skirt, covering what look like a fantastically sized pair of tits. Silky blonde hair sits on her shoulders. Revived by Samantha Towle is the second book in the Revved Series. I absolutely loved this book! I could not put it down.

We met Leandro Silva in Revved. At the end of Revved Leandro was in a near fatal accident in one of the most important races of the Formula One circuit. He died and was brought back to life. His life was saved but not without a price. One year later he has recovered from his injuries but is still unable to race. He can’t get behind the wheel of any car. He can barely ride in car let alone drive one. Not good for a man that has a career that depends on his ability to drive. Rather than facing his problem he hides behind booze and women. He needs to overcome this inability before he loses his sponsors and his position on the racing team.

He decides to go to therapy to overcome his inabilities. There he meets Dr. India Harris. The beautiful doctor not only has a solution to help him overcome his inabilities but she has also sparked his interest. Her genuine compassion and honest insights make Leandro not only want to get back to being a Formula One Driver, he truly wants to become a better man. She ignites his heart and soul. But Dr. India Harris is a woman he cannot have. It is unethical to pursue a relationship with his doctor. She could lose her career.

Dr. India Harris is attracted to her patient, Leandro Silva. She cannot succumb to this attraction. She could lose her practicing license and ruin her reputation as a doctor. This story was so touching. I love how strong India was as a woman and as a professional. She truly cared about her patients. She loved her son beyond measure. She rose above the ruin and became a beautiful strong woman. When she gave her heart , she gave it completely.

Aleandro Silva stole my heart. This man was vulnerable and not afraid to show his vulnerabilities. He proved he was more than a champion in the Formula One world. He was a champion of the heart.

The chemistry between India and Leandro was sizzling hot but it was their communications with one another that really captures the story. Both were beautiful souls.

Revived can be read as a stand alone romance or in series order.

I loved both The Exception and The Perception, but she has completely won my heart with Sacrifice. The depth and emotion in this book, the amount of love, had me smiling and crying by turn. So many types and levels of love here: Julia’s complete and utter love for Everleigh, her constant love for Gage, her rediscovered love for Crew. And Crew, his commitment to Ever and Julia, his growth as a son, a father, a lover, and a brother. Adriana has crafted a cast of characters that touched me deeply, and I know that I will be thinking about them and their story for a very long time.

The Sacrifice is easily one of my favorite reads of this year. It touched me that much, because it is so much more than a love story, although it is that, too. It is the evolution and unfolding of lives that are inextricably woven together, a story of growth and completion, of truly knowing that to love is to give of oneself completely, with no expectations for personal gain. 5+ stars just doesn’t seem like enough; I cannot recommend more that you read this beautiful, heartbreaking, joyful, life-affirming book. It is absolutely not to be missed.

Nine Minutes is one of the books that stunned my senses and left me with a major book hangover. I read this book over a month and half ago. After I finished the book I had to gift this book to several of my friends because it is the kind of book you “have” to read. Each and every friend that has read this book had the same kind of reactions that I had to it.

This more than a typical biker romance. It is a story that renders a very real look into a lawless lifestyle. Although many of the characters are hardened criminals with ethics that are horrendous, they are also very human. Their emotions and feelings are just as valid as anyone else emotions. Their methods of dealing with their emotions are just as valid as how anyone else deals with their own. We all have insecurities, we all have hopes and dreams, we all want the ones we love to have the best we can give, and we all have our own ways of protecting our deepest emotions.

The background for this story is so true to it’s portrayal. I grew up in that area of south Florida in that exact timeframe. I am very close to the same age as the heroine in this story. The existence of this kind of MC club was in fact present in that area at that time. As I was reading this book I had chills from the in depth descriptions. I felt like I was walking back in time to my younger years and looking at it through different eyes. It is was mind blowing. When my mother, who has lived in south Florida for over fifty years, and raised her family there, read this book she was just as stunned as I was.

The story itself was captivating. It is a story of a lawless life, a story of a stolen life, and a story of unconditional love. Although Grizz lived in a very violent world and delivered his own kind brand of justice, he also had a sense of honor and heart of gold. For those he loved, he gave his all. For those that betrayed his love and trust, he dealt with in a very gruesome violent manner. In the end he paid for his love. In the end he paid for his sins. He did it with honor for those he loved. He accepted the punishments for the crimes he committed. He protected his family from suffering the repercussions of his crimes. He gave those he loved the ultimate gift. He gave them the gift of love and happiness.

Ginny was a young teenage girl when she was abducted. She was just beginning her journey into womanhood. Although she was taken, manipulated, and molded into a different kind of person, she was also given the gift of unconditional love. Her life may have turned out very differently had she not been abducted. Would she have had a better life? Most likely not. Her childhood was not sunshine and roses. Her life was not full of love. She was forced to grow up at an early age. She was forced to become responsible and self reliant. She was a survivor. She used her intelligence to guide her. I think that is one of the reasons she was abducted. One person saw the uniqueness and inner strength she possessed. One person saw her value as a human being. One person loved her for everything she was. One person valued her enough to steal her away. In the end that one person almost destroyed her life. Through it all that one person also gave her more than his love, he gave her a love that would last a lifetime and always be there for her. He gave her a new love story to live.

Nine Minutes is not a forever love story. Nine Minutes is breathtaking story of unconditional love and strength of the human spirit. Nine Minutes is two beautiful love stories that intwine one woman into a person of strength, compassion, and beauty. Two love stories that show her how by just being herself is more valuable than anything else in this world.

Nine Minutes is a powerful story. Although Nine Minutes ends with a cliffhanger, it is not one that will have readers in an emotional uproar. Nine Minutes has a resolution to that part of Ginny’s story. It ended the only way it could. The cliffhanger is more about the secrets that will be revealed. It is about the other love story in the book. It is the path to Ginny’s forever love story.

Read Nine Minutes! It is exceptional!

Wow… Elude was by far the best book in the Eagle Elite series by Rachel Van Dyken. I absolutely love this dark intense series. Elude was different from the previous books in the series. It stepped outside the FAMILY and gave each member of the FAMILY a new perspective on life. It taught them to value life and not be so indifferent to death. It taught them that being family is more than BLOOD, it’s an emotional investment in each other. Elude is the most powerful book in the series. I laughed and I balled my eyes out. Let me tell you these were ugly tears. Before you download this book prepare yourself. Get a box of tissues, a glass of wine, and some comfort food and get ready for Sergio Abandonato’s story.

Victoria Ashley can write a darned hot book, and CALE is no exception. Über-hot guy that whips you into a frenzy? Check. Girl that said guy will do anything for? Check. Plenty of super-sexy scenes guaranteed to make your e-reader or paperback burst into flame? Check. And, I have to admit, the premise of the book hooked me before I ever opened it. I mean, really, what are the odds that this super-smoking man, constantly prancing around in next to nothing in front of tons of adoring women, is going to keep his V-card? But keep it, he has, and he can’t wait to show Riley how much she means to him.

As with the couples in the rest of the Walk of Shame series, the sexy times are off-the-charts sizzling, and Cale and Riley really do seem to have a pretty deep connection. The only thing that seemed a little forced, the proverbial fly in the ointment, is Riley’s ex. She’d been done with him for a hot minute after a two-year relationship, and seems to have very little trouble jumping right into things with Cale. But, true love can’t be denied, so I can live with it.

All in all, CALE was just what I expected, which is a short and steamy read, with characters that we’ve come to know and love, so I’m giving it 3.5 ‘smoking, sizzling, happily ever after’ stars.

She startled and stiffened, instantly yanked out of her less than PG thoughts. “What?”

He leaned back in his chair, vague confusion on his face. “I asked if wanted to keep working in that back room? We could rehearse at the studio once they’re close to being ready to record. But until then, it’s probably more trouble than it’s worth to cart everyone over there. It’s not that big of a place.”

“Rehearse in the back room?” she repeated, running the words back in her head to make sense of them. “Oh, right, yes, that’s fine. I’m sorry. I thought you said something else.”

She eyed the small bellini she’d ordered with her meal. Maybe that had been a bad idea. She was hearing things now.

Screw in the bathroom? How the hell had she gotten that out of what he’d said? Of course, now all she could think of was him doing just that—taking her by the elbow and leading her to that dark alcove at the back of the restaurant, pushing her up against that wall with the faded Italian flag on it and putting his hands all over her. She licked her top lip, tasting the sweet remnants of her drink. Pull it together, woman.

Apparently, once her libido had been brave enough to peep its head out, it had decided it was Groundhog Day and needed to run around, declaring spring was coming early. She hated to break the news, but nothing and no one was coming anytime soon.

“What did you think I said?” Pike took a long sip from his drink, his snake charmer eyes never leaving hers.

She followed suit, hoping the fruity drink would cool off more than her throat. “Doesn’t matter.”

His lips twitched. “You’re all red.”

“I think it’s the bellini. I don’t drink very often.”

“No way.” His expression turned smug. “You thought I said something dirty, didn’t you?”

“Huh?” She smoothed her napkin in her lap, trying to loosen the tightness in her voice. “No. Why would I think that? You’ve been very professional since we got here—which I appreciate by the way.”

His gaze slid lazily down her body, like butter melting over toast, and goddamn it all to hell, she could feel her nipples go hard and obvious beneath her bra. No wonder he’d figured it out. Her body was waving all kinds of flags in his face. Hey! Over here! Horny girl, booth eight!

“I am capable of being professional, you know,” he said, but his tone was all sex and sin. “I’m also more than happy to turn that off when the occasion calls for it. So why don’t you tell me what you thought you heard and why it’s gotten you all flushed and nervous?”

“I’m not nervous.”

He grinned.

Dammit. She schooled her face into a stoic expression. “The music is too loud in here. I thought you propositioned me to defile the restroom.”

Hie eyebrow ring twitched. “Now you’re just trying to turn me on with those big, stiff words of yours.”

All she heard was big and stiff at first, but she managed to rein in her temporary insanity. “We’re so not going to do this.”

“Well, probably not here, you’re right. I saw those bathrooms. But—“

“No, I mean, any of this. Flirting. Teasing. Whatever this is.”

He leaned onto his forearms, looking all too pleased that he’d gotten a confession out of her. “You got a guy?”

“No,” she said before she could get wise and fib.

“Then why can’t we do this?”

“Because I’m not interested.”

“Liar.”

She huffed. “Are you always this cocky?”

“No, it’s dialed down right now. I can get way worse.”

She stirred her drink. “Not. Possible.”

His lips spread into a menacing smile. “Challenge accepted.”

Oakley, former girl band star and mother of a special needs daughter, and Pike, badass drummer for Darkfall and all-around sex god with a phobia of kids, seem like an unlikely pair, but each are just what the other needs. When the two have to work together on a charity project, she’s sure that it’s a disaster in the making. Pike, though, is all in, because he knows what he wants, and what he wants is Oakley.

Pike was exciting on the phone, sexy and daring. But she could handle him in that venue. There was space, safety. But in person, the man was a full-frontal assault on her senses…The man could knock her on her ass with a few well-chosen words.

I have absolutely fallen in love with Roni Loren and her Loving On the Edge series. I can’t believe that it took me as long as it did to find them, but, now, I wouldn’t miss a book for anything. I knew a little bit about these characters, having met them in previous books in the series (Oakley in Yours All Along, Hunter’s and Devon’s book, and Pike in Not Until You). Then I read an excerpt of Call On Me, and I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for them. Once the two begin to let each other in, it’s no holds barred hotness. This is some sexy stuff, the kind that makes you blush, break out the fan, and check to make sure that no one is reading over your shoulder. When these two get together, forget the sparks, we’re talking major fireworks here. (On a side note, not many guys could make calling their lady ‘mama’ sound sexy, but, oh, my goodness, major hotness. Like, swoon city.) And the story is just what I love, an against-the-odds pairing that turns out to be a perfect match after all. Once I started reading, I could not put this book down.

“I know I can’t be the kind of guy you’re looking for. But I can give you this. I want to give you this.”
“What’s in it for you?”
“You are.”

I obviously loved this read, and could not recommend it any more highly, and if you haven’t read the rest of Roni’s Loving On the Edge series, there’s no time like the present. 5+ ‘hot as heck, are my cheeks red, oh, my gosh, I need a Pike!’ stars for this one. Grab it, read it, love it. ♥︎ 5
