If I could pick the underlying theme of this read it would be that Trust is the most important part of any relationship. These three women once again take you on a sensual journey with two sexy alpha Doms and one bratty sub. Raine wants to give her mind, body, and soul to the two men she loves but she fears rejection, and that fear nearly tears this threesome apart.

I have read a lot of BDSM novels and many many menage stories and learned something about myself as I lost myself in this read. I do not have a submissive bone in my body. I can’t tell you the level of unease I had when they have her naked not only in front of them but in front of Beck and Seth. I guess I have always been comfortable with the idea of a D/s relationship taking place in a BDSM club. At a club the norm is that everyone is naked, but when you take a retreat to a cabin and then bring along some friends it made me completely uncomfortable. Beck and Seth were there as her sounding board and to help teach her how to better communicate, however their presence not only made Raine uneasy at times but also myself. She had to take her clothes of and submit to everyone in the house. Seth and Beck never touched her but still. This made me a bit crazy and I feel like that is part of what makes this such an incredible read. When an author can evoke any emotion in a reader it is win. These ladies do an incredible job. They do especially well in the sexual frustration portion where Raine has to rein it in but so do Liam and Macen during Raine’s training.

The two leading Doms in this story also learn about trust and communication and grow closer as friends and begin to realize that Raine is not complete without them both. Liam struggles with the idea of sharing Raine even after all the cards have been put on the table. He also has doubts as to whether or not she will ever love him as much as she loves Macen. Just when you think they have worked through this and come together as a solid trio, their blissful bubble pops and all hell breaks loose. I am so looking forward to book three on February.

As the third book in the series, you meet the characters that obviously were in the previous installments, but this book does stand solidly on it’s own. The characters are quite enjoyable and maintain believable interaction and dialogue throughout. The plot and concept are light and fun with an easy reading flow. This made for a very pleasurable experience. There were several conflicts layered into the story that were fully resolved by the end. Predictability was a given in some areas, but it did not take away from anything. The conclusion was tight and solid, very well done.

In the distance, the Prince could hear voices and muffled sounds.

He approached silently, almost floating across the floor.

Desperate groans and the rustling of fabric filled his ears, along with the twin sounds of rapidly beating hearts. He could smell their scents, the aromas heightened due to their sexual arousal.

He growled in reaction.

The corridor was shrouded in darkness but the Prince could see that the professor had his wife up against a window between two statues, her legs wrapped around his waist.

Her voice was breathy as she spoke, but the Prince tuned out her words, moving closer so he could catch a glimpse of her lovely face.

At the sight of it, flushed with passion, his old heart quickened and he felt the stirrings of arousal.

It was not his custom to observe rather than participate. But on this occasion, he decided to make an exception. Careful to remain in the darkness, he moved to the wall opposite the couple.

I can’t blame Nick. He wants to keep me safe, and I love him for it. After my kidnapping last year by Yuri and Vasily, I don’t mind his hovering. It makes me feel secure, even if it chases away any chance of friendship with “regular” people.

Alice and Mick’s story continues. In Part One we were introduced to Alice and Mick. They had been lovers ten years previous to present time. Their relationship was toxic and ended badly. They had not seen each other in ten years. When they meet once again, the intense chemistry and sexual attraction is still there. It is clear that these two have not had closure to their passionate relationship. Can they find the closure they need to move on or do they start again?

In Part Two, Megan Hart takes the reader back to the beginning of Alice and Mick’s relationship. The reader gets to experience their first meeting and how it led to their all consuming passion for one another.

This book will take the reader from the exciting newness of their relationship to the toxic ending.

This book had my heart breaking for both Alice and Mick. It is clear that they love each other beyond words. But their problem is one that has plagued most couples throughout time. Communication. Neither Mick or Alice are without blame. They both made mistakes where their relationship was concerned. They both did not give each other one hundred percent honesty. They did not clearly express their feelings until it became explosive and beyond repair. Both have regrets.

Through the letters the reader will experience the pain, the anger, the loss, and the deep abiding love they share.

Alice and Mick have something special. Something that only happens once in a lifetime. Can they learn from their past and make a future together.

This book has me completely invested in their relationship. I am hoping that Alice and Mick will make it work.

Don’t Deny Me- Part One begins with Alice going for a weekend anniversary party of old time friends. She has not seen her friends in ten years. After her toxic breakup with Mick, she couldn’t bear to be around their old friends or him. She dropped out of their social circles and moved on in her life. She figures that ten years has gone by and she has come to terms with how her life has progressed. She has led a pretty fulfilling and happy life. This was a very raw and emotional read. Don’t Deny Me – Part Two will be out in one week. There is not a long wait for the next part of Alice and Mick’s story.

Prologue

Eighteen year old Jake Bender sat slouched over in a chair in the principal’s office listening to the asshole saying over and over and over how he’d end up in jail or dead. Blah, blah, blah. It wasn’t anything he hadn’t heard a thousand times before. He was thankful this one wasn’t followed up by fists like his old man liked to do.

“Are you listening to me, boy?” The principal slammed his fist on the desk and walked around wagging his finger in Bender’s face. “You mark my words, boy; you’re heading for jail or the cemetery. Either way this world is better off without you. You could disappear and no one would care. We don’t need you.”

He sat there and slowly looked up at the principal raising an eyebrow. He’d been hearing this for years from his old man; that song was stuck on repeat. Bender was counting down the days until he could leave this place behind. He’d go full time at the garage, find a place to live, and try to stay alive. Once he was on his own he’d be the one who came first, no one else, just like he’d been raised, look out for number one.

“Don’t give me that look, boy.” He raised his hand as if to slap him.

Bender sighed and leaned back. He knew there was no way he was actually going to hit him. Besides, if for some reason he did, it wouldn’t hurt as much as what his dad did on a daily basis. “Do it. I dare you.”

They stared at each other before the principal backed down. “You’re not worth it. Get out of here and don’t come back for a week.”

“What, no Saturday detention?”

“Never worked for you before; sure isn’t going to work now. We just have to get through the next two months, unless you want to drop out now. Then you’re society’s problem.”

Bender stood up. “Way to inspire the youth there, sir. You may want to write that little speech down for future reference.”

“Get out, Bender. Just get out.”

Bender slowly walked home kicking a rock hoping the old man was out getting drunk somewhere and wouldn’t be home until later. He wasn’t worried about his mom; she’d been beaten down so much over the years she didn’t care about anything as long as his dad wasn’t beating on her.

When he saw the man sitting on the steps to his house he paused. There was something familiar about him, but Bender couldn’t place him. He knew he’d seen him before, but couldn’t remember.

“We need to have a talk son.”

“You’re not my dad.”

The man leaned back and crossed his ankles looking relaxed, but Jack knew he wasn’t. This man didn’t look like he ever let his guard down. “No, thank God for that. I’m here to help you.”

“Yeah, well I don’t want your fucking help.”

“Listen, you punk ass kid, do you want to end up like your old man? Nah, I can see from the look in your eyes you don’t. Well, I’m offering you a way out. A way you can hold onto that tough kid attitude while helping people.”

“Fuck them. They never helped me.”

“What do you think I’m doing? You sure as hell aren’t the first I’ve gotten out of here, and you won’t be the last, but you’d better listen up, boy, before it’s too late. This is your one shot at redemption. I suggest you take it.” He held out a card.

Bender stood there on shaking knees, thoughts going through his head. He wanted to escape the wrath of his father and the scum of the neighborhood. He knew if he stayed, he’d be dead within a year. Slowly, he reached out and grabbed the card, feeling deep down in his gut his whole life was about to change. Now, if it was for the better was yet to be seen.

6. Cary Grant is her favorite actor. When she was in high school after Cary Grant died one of the cable stations ran a marathon, she watched his movies from 6 in the morning all day and night until 4 AM the next day.

7. Reading has always been an escape for her. She can devour a book in hours. When she moved in with her husband she literally donated over 1,000 books and saved over 1,000 for herself. She can reread books over and over again if she loves them. There are some that she has reread about once a year for the past 20 years.

8. She eloped after knowing her husband for only two months in 2006. They are still married over seven years later.

Ruin Me by Jessica Sorensen is the fifth book in the Nova Series. The Nova Series is one the best series that I have read. It made Smut Book Junkies Reviews 2014 Favorites List.

We met Jax in the previous book Wreck Me. He is Avery’s younger brother. He moved to North Carolina when he turned eighteen to escape the abusive home in Wyoming. His mother was a junkie that neglected him and Avery his entire life. Avery escaped their childhood home and left him behind. He followed her as soon as he could. Unlike Avery, he doesn’t allow his bitterness about his upbringing allow him to have hateful feelings towards his abusive mother. He still worries about her and the destructive life she is leading.

Clara is working a full time job, attending college , and taking care of her mother. Life has thrown her a lot of responsibility at a very young age. The tragedy that devastated her family and physically destroyed her mother left a young Clara with the world on her shoulders. Her only bright spot is her Friday night “hookups” with her best friend Jax. She knows that Jax wants to get closer but she won’t allow it. How can she bring someone into her mess of a life? What she doesn’t realize is that Jax is unlike any other person she has met. He has experienced heartache and despair. He understands that life isn’t always perfect. A.J. Walsh is a special man. Brett Colton was the only one who really looked at the man beneath the perfect exterior.

I’m going to fucking tear someone apart. I’m going to obliterate every part of them and then move onto someone else. I’ll start with Austin. I’ll rip Craig apart if he gets in my way, too. I won’t stop until I’m surrounded in nothing but chaos. Until the world around me reflects everything rolling around inside me. Hell, the way I feel right now, I want to rip apart Ryan, my fucking father, Sonia, our God damned neighbors. I’ll destroy everything. My car. This driveaway. My father’s house. Everything. Especially the little demon that just slammed out of my car and is busy stomping in her cute, flowery heels toward the front door. “I’m not done with you!” I slam my car door so hard I’m surprised the windows don’t shatter. “I’m so, so, so done with you!” She opens the door and storms inside, closing it before I can catch up to her. The hell she is. It’ll be over my dead body the day she’s done with me. I grab onto the knob and twist–fucking girl locked it! Huffing like a beast, I yank my keys out of my pocket and almost break them as I unlock the door, shaking with all the pent up emotions inside me. Right now, anger is winning. Big time. Soon it’s going to be something else. I’m going to lose control. And I don’t give a damn. This girl is going to see the error of her ways before I even think of backing down. Kira is rushing up the stairs by the time I get into the foyer. “I told you I wasn’t done with you!” “Leave me the hell alone, I don’t have to listen to you!” That’s it. I take the stairs as fast as I can, gaining on her. “Kira? Brayden?” I hear Sonia call from the kitchen. “What’s going on? Is everything alright?” “This asshole thinks he can tell me what to do!” Kira screams down at her mother. “Kira!” Sonia is clearly aghast at her daughter’s behaviour. She should be more worried about her daughter’s choice of clothing or the guys she decides to flirt with in front of me. “Your daughter thinks she can wear the tiniest shorts on Earth and that me and Ryan aren’t going to have anything to say about it,” I say, loud enough for Sonia to hear. Kira glares at me over her shoulder. “You have no right.” “Kira, of course he’s going to worry about you. He’s your stepbrother!” Kira and I both growl at Sonia’s reminder. Kira whirls around, pointing her stubborn, cute little finger in my face. “You are not my brother.” I grab her hand— Then I have her up against the wall, her body covered by every inch of mine, my dick pounding so hard I can’t see straight anymore. I hold her hand down by her side, grab her neck with my other hand, and lean in to sniff her. Long, deep. The scent of her hits home, right in the most painful, starving part of me. My back arches, feet pushing into the floor to give me more leverage, and I rock my hips against her. All-consuming want has control. I’m nothing but a beast in heat.
