Tracey’s Review

Serendpity: (happy) chance, (happy) accident, fluke; luck, good luck, good fortune, fortuity, providence; happy coincidence.

Christmas for Sophie Young has never been anything special. Since her parents’ divorce when she was young, it’s been a series of rushed visits and fights over who got her for which holiday. So when Sophie has the chance to plan the perfect Christmas getaway to New York City with her boyfriend, she goes all in, planning it down to the very last detail. But when fate steps in and delivers an unhappy surprise, things aren’t looking quite so magical.

Austin Kelly, on a break from recording his first solo album, thinks that the holidays are nothing but a bunch of humbug, outdated traditions and rushing around that leave everyone feeling frazzled and empty. When things go awry, and his flight to join his family for Christmas is canceled, Austin is relieved, deciding that a hotel room, a bottle of something strong, and one of his many female admirers is a much better way to spend his time.

I am a sucker for Melody Grace’s books, so when I saw that she had written a holiday novella featuring characters related to the ones in her BEACHWOOD BAY series, I was over the moon. I love these books, and everyone in them; add to that the fact that Melody writes hot and sexy romance like nobody’s business, and it’s a win-win for me. This story had me from the beginning. Sophie is likeable, an independent spitfire determined to enjoy Christmas even though her jerk of a now-ex has thrown a real wrench into her plans. She is down-to-earth, and has Austin’s number from the minute he turns on the charm and attempts to add her to his list of conquests. Her refusal to fall for his line makes Sophie even more attractive to Austin, and the two quickly find that the best laid plans can take a happy turn when they let go and stop trying to control the way things turn out. I absolutely recommend this book, and give it five romantic, sexy, heartwarming stars; if it doesn’t get you in the holiday spirit, then nothing will.

Michel’s Review

Are you a fan of the Until Series by Aurora Rose Reynolds?  She has given the readers a very special gift for the holidays.  She gave us Mike Rouger’s story.  Yes, November’s dad is finally going to meet his match and settle down.

Mike has been a die hard bachelor since November’s mother left him when November was a baby.  Being the owner of a strip bar would give the impression that Mike is a player and doesn’t value committed relationships.  That is quite the opposite of the kind of man he really is.  He is a man of honor.  A man with strong family values.  He is a man that has earned respect and given respect to all those who cross his path.  He takes his business seriously and treats his help with the utmost respect.  He is also a very lonely man.  He lives his life quietly.  He spends his time with his daughter and his precious granddaughters.  Who would think that a man pushing his mid forties would find love and happiness.  Who would think that he would be gifted with another chance to have the family he always wanted?  Who would think that he would become a father figure to a very troubled teenage boy.  But there’s more, Mike was granted the ultimate Christmas gift.  He has been given a Christmas miracle.

When Kathleen Mullings runs into her high school crush after twenty years she is still in awe of the man he has become.  He is just as attractive and tempting as he was in high school.  She has moved back to Tennessee after a failed marriage. She never imagined she would want to be in another relationship.  She has a troubled teenage son that needs direction and guidance toward the right paths in life.  He is the reason she returned home.  Can she get involved in a relationship with Mike?  Will he accept her son?  Or will they be casual plus ones?

Mike and Kathleen are in for some big surprises.  They have been given a second chance and they are both determined to make the most of it.  They will be given a Christmas Miracle that will give the Rouger / Mayson clan joy for many years.

I highly recommend this Christmas novella.  It is the perfect holiday romance that will warm your days and make them brighter.  This novella can be read as a stand alone book or in series order.

Excerpt

A large hand came down and landed on my shoulder, causing my umpteenth beer to slosh over the sides of the red cup. “What the fuck?”

I bounced slightly when Travis plopped down on the sofa next to me. “Hey buddeeey. How’s my buddeeey?” he slurred, sliding his upper body along the back of the sofa closer to me.

I glanced over and threw him a lazy smirk.

With a cocked eyebrow and lopsided grin, he informed me, “I gotta surprise that’s gonna make that smile and other parts of you grow bigger.”

“You’re making me really uncomfortable,” I said, leaning away.

“There are two lovelies that want to spend time with our pulsating masculinity. Their names are Heather and Melanie.”

Travis’s head flopped to the side, his gaze and wave aimed at a cute blonde and brunette standing across the room.

“They’re all yours, buddy. I’m not in the mood.” I downed more of my beer.

His head rolled back toward me. “Heather won’t leave Melanie. They travel in pairs. I want to get my hands on Heather’s pair, so you get in the mood.”

“I’m sure your immense charm will pry her away.”

“Come on. Be a friend.”

“Sorry, not tonight.”

Glaring at me, he bit out, “Not tonight… then what fucking night? I’d like to put that date on my calendar so I can stop wasting my time.”

“What’s your problem?”

“You’re my problem. You and this pussy-whipped, no balls, coochie slave attitude you’ve been sporting around for months instead of a rock-hard dick.”

“Fuck you! You don’t understand.”

I pushed off the sofa, stumbling a few steps toward the back door. I needed some air and to get away from Travis’s bullshit. The room spun, and then I spun as Travis grabbed my upper arm, turning me to face him.

“I understand. You’ve been hung up on this fucking girl ever since I’ve known you.”

My fingers curled into fists as I got in his face and snarled, “Don’t you ever refer to her as this fucking girl.”

Travis took a step back, ran his hands over his face, and huffed in frustration. “What’s the deal? I thought I was finally getting my friend back. You see her for like two seconds today and it sends you into a fucking tailspin. You gotta get past this.”

I could see the sincerity in his eyes. He wasn’t telling me these things in anger or because he didn’t like Tweet. He knew I was in a constant struggle and he was being a friend.

“I’m trying,” I whispered.

“Try harder, dude.”

“I don’t know how.” It was pathetic how weak and defeated my voice sounded.

After seeing Tweet earlier, the rest of the day had been spent replaying the few seconds encounter over and over in my head. She looked incredible except for the sadness in her eyes. A pang of guilt pinched my stomach because I was glad to see that sadness. It meant she was as miserable as I was. She disappeared in a flash but I didn’t need a lot of time in order to take her all in. Her hair was that summer mixture of dark brown and gold. The light sprinkle of red across her nose and cheeks was either a result of being at the beach or seeing me. I hoped it was the latter. She had on a plain white tank top and a pair of black shorts that were molded to her adorable round ass. Tweet was the only girl I knew who could wear the plainest clothes, little makeup, and still look like a supermodel. The memory of her hips swaying back and forth as she darted away had my dick twitching. I turned from Travis and headed out the back door, needing that air more now than before.

Once outside, I propped myself up against the house, closed my eyes, and sucked in all the oxygen my lungs could handle.

I need to get her out of my head.

There were a few people hanging out around the pool so I concentrated on them. That was a dumbass move because most of them were hooking up. Sounds of kissing, moaning, giggling, and more moaning filled my ears. I shifted my attention to the sounds coming from inside the house. Another dumbass move. The only thing I could hear was the pounding music, which made me think of Tweet’s swaying hips, which made me think of grabbing those hips and pounding into… I had to get out of there.

As I shoved off of the wall, the back door swung open, Travis stepped out, and headed over toward me.

“It kills me to see you like this.” He paused, his eyes shifting from me to something over my shoulder. “I didn’t want to say anything because I don’t play into the rumor bullshit.”

“What are you talking about?”

His expression showed how much he was struggling with whether or not to continue. “I heard Amanda is hooking up with some guy.”

My brows scrunched together as my jaw went slack. A small chuckle of disbelief escaped me. “Why are you telling me this?”

“Because I care about you. You’re like a brother to me. Noah, stop pissing your life away waiting for something that’s not gonna happen.”

Glancing away, I shook my head, and said, “It’s a fucking lie.”

“How do you know?”

My eyes pierced his. “She wouldn’t do that.”

“Why not?”

“Because she’s my Tweet!” I screamed.

Out the corner of my eye, I could see the people around the pool unhooking from one another.

“She’s not your anything! When are you going to get that through your fucking head?!”

I lunged forward, landed both hands on Travis’s chest, and shoved. He stumbled back, but made no move to come after me.

“I’m not going to fight you, man.”

“Who’s the no-balls pussy now?!”

I shoved.

He stumbled back.

Party people scattered into the house.

“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice full of pity.

I shoved.

He stumbled back.

And then I tackled him to the ground.

I landed one hard punch to his jaw before he flipped me onto my back, wrapped his massive arm around my neck, and held me down. I jerked and twisted for several seconds trying to break free of his hold. Finally, the alcohol and pain took over and I gave up.

Pressing the heel of my hands into my eyes, I choked back tears, and mumbled, “We’ve shared all our firsts together.”

Tina’s Review

*** Provided by Netgalley in exchange for an Honest Review. ***

To say Sergeant Tate McAuliffe has had some crappy Christmases in his past would be an understatement and why should this year be any different? Stationed in Afghanistan, he’s taken by surprise by the gift he receives from a stranger.
Layla Preston lives in Australia and follows the troops’ mission in Afghanistan. She comes from a military family, but they are all gone now. Inherited from her dad, she has Bonsai Christmas, a tree farm her father purchased after retiring from the military.

This IS an Australian novella, some terminology translations may be helpful:
Ute= Utility Vehicle, Thong= flip flops, Esky= cooler, RSL= Returned and Services League (support organization for the ADF (Australian Defence Force)), doona= quilt or blanket

Short Holiday novella: under 100 pages. Stands alone.
Tate really is portrays as a broken spirit when it comes to family and holiday reunions, preferring his fellow soldiers to blood family. Layla is like an angel in spirit. She breathes life and vitality to all with her kindness and generosity. There’s a nice blend of secondary characters that help support the story. Believable dialogue and interaction enable the dynamic and dramatic plot to flow smoothly and swiftly. There was enough push and pull in the story line to create some conflict, although it was nothing of epic proportions, and a pleasant enough resolve was found. Predictability was blissfully low. The conclusion was solid and without cliffhangers. Overall, this was a very enjoyable read.

Author Bio:

fionaI love books.

As a child we didn’t live near a library until one opened when I was nine. I was in heaven, then we moved and I traded my library card for one for a mobile library that visited the local shops. Ten months later, we moved again. This time to an older house on stilts with a dark and scary ground floor. Exploring the depths, I discovered a cupboard and stored inside were boxes and boxes of romance novels.

My early love of category romance morphed into a passion for historicals, romantic suspense and futuristic romance. In an attempt to widen my reading preferences, I still visit the library regularly, but choose all my books by the spine, without reading the back cover. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t.

My books and short stories range from journeys across time and space – futuristic and sci-fi romances to contemporary romance. After all, what’s not to love about a strong military leader with a spacecraft? Unless its a sexy farmer with a Ute?

A lot of my pre-writing is done while I’m pounding the pavement – either running or walking the family’s two large dogs. I’m always up for a challenge, so I split my time between my home town of Brisbane and an owner-builder project on a rural property in Queensland’s Southern Downs, where the air is crisp and clear and the view of the night sky is to die for.

Step out of the winter chill and into the warmth of Fool’s Gold, California, the charming small-town setting for a new holiday novella from New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery

Famous former NFL stars don’t date single working moms like Bailey Voss. The ache of past loss reminds Kenny why he needs to avoid getting too close to anyone. Especially to a gorgeous redhead and her adorable little girl. Mess it up, and he’d lose them both. Tracey’s Review

The good things about novellas: They’re short and sweet, they offer a chance for readers to have their author ‘fix’ between bigger books, and they can focus on just a few characters. On the other hand, because they’re so short, they tend to move relatively quickly, and there’s less time for a meaty storyline to develop.

YOURS FOR CHRISTMAS, a novella in Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold series, is a sweet story, focusing on widowed mother Bailey Voss and former NFL player Kenny Scott. Bailey, mom to sweet little Chloe, has had a mad crush on Kenny forever. When the two are tapped to head up a Christmas charity event, they begin spending a lot of time together, and feelings deeper than friendship emerge on both sides. The trouble, though, is that Kenny has a rule: he doesn’t date women with children, ever. He’s been badly burned, and is unwilling to have his heart broken again, no matter how much he likes Bailey.

I liked this story, and didn’t feel like I needed to have read previous books in the series to enjoy it. I’m a sucker for stories about small town and community, and Susan has given us just that in the Fool’s Gold books. Her characters are real and likeable, and, while I wanted to pinch Kenny a couple of times, I totally bought the relationship between him and Bailey. Again, this is a novella, so things go a little more quickly than might seem completely realistic, but, heck, this is love, and it’s Christmas, so just go with it. I’m giving this four sweet and sexy stars, and am looking forward to getting to know more about the residents of Fool’s Gold, California.

The Play Me Series is a spin off of the Ethan Frost Series.  This series features one of Ethan Frost’s best friends and his return to Las Vegas.  There are 5 Books in this series and each is novella length.  Each installment is sensual, breathtaking, addicting, and paced perfectly to keep the reader intrigued.  Each installment ends on a major cliffhanger that leaves the reader wanting more.  The final book does not end on a cliffhanger but leaves the reader anxious for the next Ethan Frost book.  The characters from this series will be in the next Ethan Frost book and will be involved in Ethan’s mission to destroy his enemies.

The characters in this series are phenomenal.  Their attraction and sexual chemistry is smoldering hot.  Their erotic relationship will keep the readers fanning themselves.  Their story is thrilling in so many ways.  From their current lives, their secrets from the past, their steamy relationship, their smoldering sexual escapades, and complicated new directions , The Play Me series is addicting.

Each book in this series was released on December 2, 2014.  Readers do not have to wait for the next book to come out.  The pricing for each book is similar to other serial romances on todays market.  The pricing for the series all together is equivalent to purchasing one book by one of the major publishing houses.  It is well worth the price and I highly recommend this series.

Although this series is a spin off of the Ethan Frost series it can be read as a stand alone series.

Tina’s Review

*** Provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. ***

Talia Truman was a television child star and is trying to break away from that persona with her partying, drinking and boys. She thought she scored a movie franchise deal only for them to threaten to take it away. She needs to clean up her act – now – if she wants any chance at keeping the movie deal. More for publicity than need, her manager decides that the best way for Talia to clean up her image is to admit her into a sex addiction rehab facility.
CMA’s “Best New Artist” nominee, Matt Skylar, is a bigger fake than Talia! He’s taking it real hard that although he’s nominated, he’s not KNOWN. All the publicity and attention falls to the Bad Boys of Country. So, a he figures he’d rough up his appearance and plan a stint in rehab that he purposely extended from two weeks to six weeks. On the eve before his “graduation”, Talia joins the facility and calls his bluff.

Novella, under 100 pages. Stand-Alone. No Cliffhanger.
The characters, all of them, have a caricature feel to them; like they are exaggerated for comedic purposes. In this, Ms Williams would be successful. The dialogue is witty and sharp. Banning the toothbrush was funny, but it escalates from there. There’s a fluidity of the read, making it an easy, joyful piece to read. The action causing the conflict is believable, the reactions to the building conflict are very appropriate for the characters and the resolve is perfect. There really is not a lot of predictability in whole and the conclusion is solidly wrapped up.

The Law Of Moses

Release Date: November 27, 2014

Synopsis

If I tell you right up front, right in the beginning that I lost him, it will be easier for you to bear. You will know its coming, and it will hurt. But youll be able to prepare.

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him Baby Moses when they shared his story on the ten o’clock news – the little baby left in a basket at a dingy Laundromat, born to a crack addict and expected to have all sorts of problems. I imagined the crack baby, Moses, having a giant crack that ran down his body, like he’d been broken at birth. I knew that wasn’t what the term meant, but the image stuck in my mind. Maybe the fact that he was broken drew me to him from the start.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news and nobody wanted anything to do with him. People love babies, even sick babies. Even crack babies. But babies grow up to be kids, and kids grow up to be teenagers. Nobody wants a messed up teenager.

And Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful. To be with him would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Maybe I should have stayed away. Maybe I should have listened. My mother warned me. Even Moses warned me. But I didn’t stay away.

And so begins a story of pain and promise, of heartache and healing, of life and death. A story of before and after, of new beginnings and never-endings. But most of all…a love story.

Excerpt

“You still talk to your horses.”

I jerked and Sackett shifted, not liking the spike of energy that shot through me or the fact that my fingers had yanked at his mane.

Moses stood silhouetted in the barn door, holding what looked to be a large canvas in his hand.

I hadn’t realized I was still talking to Sackett, and I did a quick examination of what I’d just said. I believe I had just uttered an embarrassing rant on people named Moses not being allowed in Georgia. “Oh, Lord,” I prayed silently but fervently, “you can make the blind man see and the deaf man hear so it shouldn’t be too much to ask to make this man forget everything he’s just seen and heard.”

“What does Sackett think about those new, stricter laws in Georgia?”

I looked up at the rafters, “Hey, thanks for comin’ through for me, Lord.”

I loosened the cinch that secured the saddle around Sackett’s middle and pulled the saddle from his back, hoisting it onto the saddle horse and removing the blanket beneath without looking at Moses. I was kind of surprised that he remembered Sackett’s name.

Moses took a few steps inside the barn and I could see a small smile playing around his lips. I gave Sackett a firm pat on his rump signaling I was done, and he trotted off, clearly eager to go.

“You’re back.” I said, refusing to embarrass myself further by getting angry.

“I took Tag home. He had big plans to train for his next fight old school, like Rocky, but discovered that it’s a little more appealing in the movies. Plus, I don’t do a very good Apollo Creed.”

“Tag’s a fighter?”

“Yeah. Mixed martial arts stuff. He’s pretty good.”

“Huh.” I didn’t know what else to say. I didn’t know anything about the sport. “Didn’t Apollo Creed die in one of the movies?”

“Yeah. The black guy always dies at the hands of the white man.”

I rolled my eyes, and he grinned, making me grin with him before I remembered that I was embarrassed and ticked off that he had kissed me and left town. It felt a little too much like the past. The grin slipped from my face and I turned away, busying myself shaking out the saddle blankets.

“So why did you come back?” I kept my eyes averted. He was quiet for a minute, and I bit my lips so I wouldn’t start to babble into the awkward silence.

“The house needs more work,” he replied at last. “And I’m thinking of changing my name.”

My head shot up, and I met his smirk with confusion.

“Huh?”

“I heard there was this new law in Georgia. Nobody named Moses can even visit. So I’m thinking a name change is in order.”

I just shook my head and laughed, both and embarrassed and pleased at his underlying meaning. “Shut up, Apollo,” I said, and it was his turn to laugh.

2014 FavoriteRobin’s Review

The Law of Moses begins with a word of caution to the reader. From the first words of the prologue, Amy Harmon’s consummate writing demanded my full attention. Perhaps the prologue is a bit of foreshadowing, but I truly had no idea what it meant. How it would relate to the story? When I finished reading The Law of Moses, I was emotionally spent, but I finally understood. I truly admire Amy Harmon’s talent and creativity. The Law of Moses is her seventh novel. I have read each of them, and her ability to tell a story just keeps getting better.

Our protagonist, Georgia Shepherd, begins the story by telling us about Moses Wright. He was born a crack baby. Baby Moses was placed in a laundry basket and abandoned at the Quick Wash. Employees from the hospital named him baby Moses because he was found lying in a basket. Crack babies are known to have all kinds of problems throughout their lives – ADHD, impulse control, seizures, mental disorders, hallucinations and hypersensitivity. Authorities were able to identify his mother three days after he was found because his mother died of an overdose. Moses was raised by family, but he never spent very long in one place because he was hard to manage. When the story begins, Moses moves in with his great grandmother, Kathleen Wright, just before he turns eighteen.

It’s the summer before her senior year in high school, and seventeen year-old Georgia Shepherd dreams of barrel racing on the rodeo circuit. Her father is a veterinarian, but her parents also have several horses they use for equine therapy with foster kids. Georgia assists with equine therapy, but she is better known for her ability for breaking in and training horses in Levan, Utah. Kathleen Wright asks the Shepherd family to put Moses to work on their farm. Georgia describes Moses as tall, with broad shoulders, defined muscles and light, funky-colored eyes. She compares him to a dangerous jungle cat. He is messed up, cracked in the head, emotional and extremely artistic. And Georgia is attracted to Moses.

Did I mention Moses was artistic? He paints beautiful, gigantic murals whenever the inclination occurs. He paints on walls and buildings or anywhere else that seems appropriate at the time. He paints wherever he wants without questions and remorse. But it’s what Moses paints that is highly unusual. Moses paints pictures of people who are dead, and this could be a problem for him because several young women have disappeared in central Utah over the past few years.

Okay. Here are my thoughts. Amy Harmon has written a very intriguing coming of age novel. It’s also a beautiful love story involving two unlikely characters. If you love a great mystery, you will find mystery in spades in The Law of Moses. It’s one of those novels you will not want to put down. I mentioned at the beginning of my review that the writing in this story is consummate. I absolutely meant that. The writing in The Law of Moses is above average in creativity, proficiency and in the manner that it flows. There have been so many wonderful novels released this year, but I can honestly say that The Law of Moses is one of the very best that I have read. Congratulations to Amy Harmon on this 6 star novel!

Diamonds and Dust

Lonesome Point, Texas Series- Book 3

By Jessie Evans

Synopsis

A sexy second chance romance from NYT and USA Today Bestselling author Jessie Evans

The home run neither of them expected…

Pike Sherman is a legend in Lonesome Point, a hometown boy who made it to the big leagues. Literally. Professional baseball acquired one hell of a pitching arm and its latest celebrity bad boy when the gifted Pike was drafted seven years ago. Pike’s broken heart came along for the ride, too, but he kept that private, and since leaving Lonesome Point has kept his distance from his hometown. But when Pike’s little sister, Mia, begs him to be the Dude of Honor at her wedding, he can’t refuse. He takes advantage of a break in the season and returns home to find himself thrown together with the one woman he never wanted to see again.

Tulsi Hearst is on the verge of losing her Equine Therapy business, and letting down all the kids she’s come to love. After a mix-up with the grant board, she needs to concentrate on finding more funding, not dealing with Pike Sherman, the boy she sacrificed so much for, and the one person she’s ever lied to. And what a lie it is… Pike would hate her if he found out. She knows she should stay far away from the brooding man her summer love has become, but Tulsi can’t resist a slow dance with the only boy who ever made her blood rush.

After just a few days back in Lonesome Point, Pike can’t imagine life without the girl he left behind, but when Tulsi’s secret is revealed, his heart is broken all over again. The only thing worse than losing Tulsi, is losing six years with the daughter he didn’t know he had.

Tracey’s Review

With Pike Sherman back in town for his sister Mia’s wedding, it’s all Tulsi Hearst can do to keep it together. Not only was Pike Tulsi’s first and only love, she’s hiding one heck of a big secret that Pike absolutely cannot find out. She’ll just pretend like he didn’t break her heart seven years ago, smile for the wedding pictures, and then life can go back to normal. The best laid plans, and all that…

Pike is Lonesome Point’s golden boy, the one that made it big. When he left home, he was sure that he’d never be back. But life has a funny way of throwing us for a loop, and it takes all of a day or two to completely change Pike’s mind about things. Because in those couple of days, he sees Tulsi again, and realizes that it’s not as easy as he’d thought to leave the past behind.

Jessie Evans just keeps writing stories that I cannot help but fall absolutely in love with, and each one makes me say, ‘Oh, this is the best one yet!’ Her characters resonate because they are just so real, so like all of us. They’re not perfect, they make mistakes, they’re living normal lives as best they can. I think that one of my favorite things about reading DIAMONDS AND DUST, or any any book by Jessie, really, is that it feels like coming home. It is impossible to finish these books without a smile on my face, and to want to be part of a community like the one in Lonesome Point. Her heroes are always hot and sexy (and I think that Pike may well be my favorite so far!), which is really nice, but it’s their hearts that make them so special. These are men that are willing to admit when they’re wrong, to go after what they want, and to grab life by the horns and set things right. The women are written wonderfully as well; full of spunk and sass, these ladies don’t take any guff from anybody. Every one of them, from Tulsi, Mia, and Marisol, right down to Clementine and Mia’s Gram, are spitfires, and just make this a read that is immensely enjoyable.

If you’re a fan of books that bring old lovers together again, DIAMONDS AND DUST is a must-read, and is guaranteed to leave you wanting to read more by Jessie.

Meet Colton Drake

I have no idea why she auctioned off her virginity for a cool mill. Regardless, I’m now the proud new owner of a perfectly intact hymen. A lot of good that will do me. I have certain tastes, certain sexual proclivities. My cock is a bit more discriminatory than most. And training a virgin takes finesse and patience – both of which I lack.

Sophie Evans has been backed into a corner. With her sister’s life hanging in the balance, the only choice is to claw her way out, even if that means selling her virginity to the highest bidder at an exclusive erotic club. When Colton Drake takes her home, she quickly learns nothing is as it seems with this beautifully troubled man. Being with him poses challenges she never expected, and pushes her to want things she never anticipated.

A sinfully seductive erotic romance where everything has a price and the cost of love is the highest of all from New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Kendall Ryan

Pace Drake loves sex. He knows where to get it, what to say, what to do, and he makes no apologies for satisfying his needs. But when he meets single mom, Kylie Sloan, he’s enthralled by her, and begins to question his standard operating procedure. After all, there’s no chase, no mystery when banging a woman in a nightclub bathroom. Kylie’s depth and determination make the sloppy, drunken hookups that fill his weekends seem empty and shallow. She’s the opposite of the desperate, clingy women he’s used to. She doesn’t want or need anyone to take care of her and that only makes him want to care for her more.
Kylie’s trust in men has vanished. The last guy she was with played ding-dong-ditch-it with her uterus and left her with a baby to raise. Now her infant son is the only man she has time for, even if she misses sex and intimacy more than she’d ever admit. Opening her heart up to a younger man who’s best known for no-strings-attached sex and his casual lifestyle is probably the worst idea she’s ever had. But Pace wants to prove to her there are still a few good guys left, and watching the sweet way he interacts with her baby makes her want to try…but she can really trust that his days of hitting it and quitting it are in his past?Filthy Beautiful Lust is the third book in the Filthy Beautiful Lies series, however it can be read as a standalone novel (no cliffhanger). To understand the full growth and development of the characters, it is recommended that you begin with book 1, Filthy Beautiful Lies.
