Lizzy’s love of photography is reawakened in Italy, and as she sees beauty through the lens of a camera, she allows herself to open up to life again. Ren manages to rescue a puppy at one of the stops they make in their journey through Tuscany, a scrawny puppy with little hope until the rock star starts singing to her to calm her fears and bring her out of her hiding place into his hand. A hand that desperately needs to hold onto unconditional love instead of self-loathing and guilt. Lizzy and Ren discover themselves and each other at a time when they are most vulnerable in their lives.

The reader will think the story is on its way to the expected conclusion until a tragic set of circumstances brings the HEA into question. Ms. Cooper not only gives us the story from the point of view of the main characters, but also Lizzy’s husband Ty and her daughter Kylie. While Lizzy and Ren are written in first person, so that you get both points of view, Ty is written in second person (“You think you know someone.”) and Kylie is written in third person (“Kylie hangs up from the phone call with her dad….”). It may seem disjointed but it works beautifully because each style portrays the character exactly. Ty is full of himself. Kylie is the detached spoiled child. Lizzy and Ren live in the moment. And when it all comes together, Ms. Cooper’s exquisite, emotionally intense story makes us realize we’ve all been through our own crises the same way, experiencing it first hand if it’s our own problem, feeling detached and aloof if it’s someone else. The metaphors are obvious: the beauty of a far off land, the use of photography as a way to open up, the broken rock star who, despite the pact he and his brother made when they first started out, is on his way to being the cliché. Yet the story never feels contrived, never seems obvious. And that’s the beauty of it. “Rock Her” is a beautiful song about life, a quiet must read, a true romantic tale of love, loss and self discovery.

Loving Eden by T. A. Foster is the sequel to Kissing Eden. It should be read after Kissing Eden.

Loving Eden was a very good ending for Grey and Eden’s relationship and future life together. It picks up a few months after Kissing Eden has ended. Grey and Eden have been trying to manage a long distance relationship and struggling. Eden moves from North Carolina to Texas to start her life with Grey.

Like most couples, it is a huge adjustment after the newness of the relationship begins to wear off. They will have to learn to live together. They will also have to learn about each other’s families as well. They are both in for quite a few surprises. The strength of their love will get them through the hurtles and grow into it’s full potential.

I really enjoyed Loving Eden. It showed a very real side of love and how it takes work to keep it strong.

I would highly recommend Kissing Eden and Loving Eden by T.A. Foster.

T.A. Foster met, fell in love with, and married her own Marine fighter pilot. Through deployments, trainings, and sometimes living oceans apart, their own love story continues every day.

“Do you believe that?” he asked, his voice solemn.

“What?”

“In soul mates.” He cocked his head to the side and looked genuinely interested in my answer.

Of course, I believed in ‘the one.’ I also believed that I’d already lost him. “I believe that there’s one special person that is the perfect fit, and that it’s no coincidence when we find them. You?”

“Certainly, some are better suited for each other than others,” he said, nodding to the dogs sitting side-by-side at our feet. “But I don’t believe in ‘the one.’” He leaned against the trunk of my car and eyed me as if he thought I was made of glass and his words would shatter me. He was right to wonder.

I scuffed the toe of my shoe in the dirt while I considered his words, noticing that he’d purposefully framed his argument without mentioning God.

Father Paul was walking a fine line with me and he knew it. He was being very careful not to say something that he knew would push me away; yet, he’d still managed to get his message across.

He flipped his ball cap around so that it sat backwards on his head. The act had the dual effect of revealing his face – and the utter sincerity etched across it – and returning the Greek mythology-spewing priest beside me to a mere mortal man again.

I crumbled just a bit.

His mouth turned down as he squinted into the sun. “Of course, I’ve never been in love like you have.”

Much of the time, I find myself relying on the opinion of a trusted friend when choosing my next read. Combine that trusted opinion with a forbidden romance? I’m totally game! So when a friend told me about the newest contemporary romance from Jenni Moen and asked if I might be interested in reading it, I didn’t hesitate!

The synopsis for With the Father is vague. I was told the novel is a romance involving a Catholic priest. I thought I had a good idea of what I was getting myself into before I began reading. I was wrong – this novel is so much more. I’m not going to delve too deeply into the plot because With the Father is a story you have to fully experience for yourself.

Imagine a choice that will affect your future and the future of your loved ones. The premise of With the Father comes down to a choice. In a split second, time stands still. The future flashes before your eyes. Choose. This is exactly what happens to Grace Northcutt.

Are you ready for a great mystery? Search for clues that are buried within the text. Watch for words that have double meanings. With the Father will continue to shock readers until the last page. Sometimes stories aren’t tied up with neat little bows. Sometimes authors turn their story upside down. I finished With the Father in a state of shock – as in “What just happened?!” After sleeping on it, I have come to the conclusion that Jenni Moen is brilliant.

With the Father is so much more than a romance between Grace Northcutt and Father Paul Sullivan. This story is guaranteed to bring out strong emotions and varied opinions from among those who read it. Not everyone will feel the same after reading it, but I think most will agree this novel will be hard to forget. Jenni Moen has earned 4.5 stars for With the Father!

Alexa Sharpe is a realtor. She is competitive and can’t turn down a bet. Maverick drives her crazy. He calls her Sexy Lexi (she doesn’t really mind…) and is constantly challenging her and hitting on her.

Maverick Ryder is a sexy firefighter always seen around town with different women. It’s no secret that Maverick likes women, but what Lexi doesn’t know is that he’s just been searching for the right woman, and he’s pretty sure she’s it.

Steal My Heart is a lovely romance about a man and woman who have chemistry but are reluctant to explore it. Lexi has a few misconceptions about Maverick and he hasn’t tried to correct her, but once he decides to go after the woman he wants, all bets are off.

The relationship in this book is sweet and a little steamy. This book is a great light read, with a little bit of mystery and suspense. This book is best read in conjunction with the other books in the series because then you can see the full range of all of the relationships. This book is short but well paced and I never lost interest. I look forward to seeing what else happens in the next book in this series.

Alexa Sharpe balanced a cardboard box on one hip while she tugged at the hem of her t-shirt with her free hand for at least the millionth time in the last twenty minutes, only to expose the tops of her breasts in the process. Never mind that the unforgiving cotton hugged her body like a second skin, one more good tug and she’d all but fall out.

She exhaled a hard breath as she practically stomped across the dirt, headed for the dugout. She knew better than to make a bet with the devil, but those hypnotizing chocolate-dipped gaze and cocky grin had sucked her in. Again. And honestly, when he’d poked her with his silver-tongued pitchfork, pleasure flooded her lust-filled brain and dared her to spoil the fun.

Unable to help herself, she pulled on the garment again, still convinced this was some sort of joke. No one played baseball in clothing this tight. No one in their right mind, anyway. And certainly not her.

Determined to remedy the situation, she took a deep calming breath, and approached the dugout, prepared to negotiate.

“Hey, Sexy Lexi.”

She shifted the box on her hip and glared at the man who appeared to appreciate the scenery. “Maverick.”

He lifted his gaze and grinned. “The girls are looking good this morning.”

“Obviously you ordered me the wrong size.”

“You told me to order a small.”

“This is not a small.”

“Yes, it is. Check the tag.”

“Did you wash it first?”

“No.”

“Then I’m sure it’s a child’s size small.”

He released a hearty laugh. “Don’t be a sore loser just because you couldn’t get your fine little ass up and over that wall.”

As badly as she wanted to argue, he had a valid point. They had made an honest wager a month ago; she bet him that she could climb the endurance wall faster than he, and she didn’t. In fact, he had to boost her over the top. She’d always admired Maverick Ryder’s physique, she just didn’t realize how hard it was to carve it. And at least his t-shirt hugged his bulging muscles as well.

“Fine,” she mumbled as she glanced around the field. “Where are the boys?”

He frowned. “What boys?”

“Your baseball team,” she drawled.

He gave her a grin that made her want to yank that pesky top over her head and press the girls to his hard chest. “I don’t coach boys or baseball.”

“Really? Then why do you need a bat girl and why am I here?”

“The Seaside Seagulls are an eight-year-old girls’ softball team. Think you can handle it?”

“Piece of cake.”

“Good, because you’re on.” He gestured with his head across the field where several little girls walked toward them.

Lexi rolled her eyes at his lack of confidence. She was a girl, for Pete’s sake, of course she could entertain his female team.

Unless there was something else Maverick failed to mention.

She squeezed closed her eyes, cursing her curiosity. If she’d just unloaded the bottled water like Vanessa asked, she could’ve been gone by now, avoiding a confrontation with the voice behind her.

She squared her shoulders and turned around. “Good morning, Maverick.”

“Did you come to climb the wall?”

So, she was right about the purpose. “No. Vanessa asked me to drop off a case of drinking water for the crew. What exactly are you guys doing out here?”

“Endurance training. Once a year, we build an obstacle course and compete for the best time.”

“The wall doesn’t look too difficult.”

“Really?” He folded his arms across his chest. “The wall is only one part of the test. Do you think you can climb it faster than I can?”

“Maybe. I’m a lot smaller.”

“Let’s bet on it.”

Lexi answered with a groan.

“You give?”

“No, I’m just not sure about making any kind of wager with you.”

“Why?”

“Because you cheat.”

“I don’t cheat.”

“Okay, so maybe not. But you have a way of changing the game once we start.”

“Only because you let me.”

“I do not! Fine, I’ll take your bet. What do I get when I win?”

“If you win, I’ll retire your nickname.”

“Oh.” Her sudden feeling of disappointment confused her. Why did that possibility not thrill her? Maverick had called her Sexy Lexi since the day they’d met and yes, it annoyed her – at first. Now, however, not so much. “Really?”

“Really. But if I win, you become the official bat girl for the Seaside Seagulls. I’ll even order you a uniform.”

She had absolutely no idea what being a bat girl entailed, but that didn’t really matter. She would win the bet with Maverick – even if she had to use creative measures to do it.

Sawyer Bennett has set my panties on fire with her latest release, Uncivilized. She broke out of her comfort zone and delivered a blazing erotic romance that makes the body temperature soar. Unlike a lot of erotic romances, Uncivilized had a fantastic plot that was delivered with intelligence, compassion, and emotional depth. It was a unique take on Tarzan and Jane with a naughty twist. The characters were loaded with personality and raw sensuality.

Zach Easton went to the Amazon when he was a young boy with his missionary parents. His parents died from a jungle fever and the world presumed Zach had passed too. Eighteen years later, by word of mouth, it is discovered that there is a possibility that he is still alive.

Zach’s godfather hires an anthropologist that specializes in Caraican Indian tribes to help retrieve Zach and bring him home where he belongs.

Moira has been hired to bring Zach home and acclimate him into the modern world. Moira sees this as a challenge and great opportunity to further her research . When Moira first see’s Zach, her impressions are changed. She witnesses Zach dominating a woman from the tribe. This stirs her desires and sexual attraction to Zach. She can’t let her desires stand in the way of her job.

Quickly their roles change as they embark on acclimating Zach into society. Teacher becomes the student. The student becomes the teacher.

Zach is a sexual man, used to dominating women, and taking what he wants. He is used to doing whatever he wants without question. He is raw, carnal, and primitive.

And like most men, sex is always on his mind. He wants to learn all things sexual. Google is his best friend. He wants to be with Moira his way and her way. Both will learn some valuable lessons. Moira will learn the about her own sexuality and carnal side. Zach will learn about romance, emotions, and foreplay.

The thing I loved about Uncivilized was that is was more than an erotic take on Tarzan and Jane. Moira accepted Zach and his “uncivilized” ways. She didn’t judge his primitive ways and make them seem wrong. She taught him what he needed to know to be able to survive in our modern society. She showed him compassion and respect. She admired his intelligence and strength.

Zach respected Moira for her knowledge, her femininity, and understanding. She taught him that the emotional side of coupling was just as important as the carnal side. She taught him the values of love and family that were much more personal than his primal ways.

Sawyer Bennett has a gift with words that draws the reader in, breathes life into her characters, and makes the reader feel every moment. She adds the right amount of humor and wit to make the characters and their lives seem very real. She allows her characters to have flaws and strengths that most readers can relate to and understand. Her stories come to life and jump off the pages. Readers are thoroughly entertained with a hot passionate romance.

Uncivilized is one of the most passionate books I have read. Sawyer Bennett has delivered a five flaming star book!

“You don’t even know me,” I challenged. “Why do you want me to be your date? You saw
