By Kim Karr

Synopsis

He didn’t think, he didn’t question—he just acted.

What she wanted, she took—without regard.

It was only one night, but it changed everything.

After losing his fiancée, Ben Covington is unsure he’ll ever love again. But he’s so deeply drawn to Bell Wilde that he’s thrown for a loop. Maybe it’s purely sexual chemistry that’s igniting their spark… or maybe it’s his second chance at love.

Bell Wilde has just gotten her life back on track and may not be up the challenge of Ben Covington coming back into it. However, once the spark is reignited…there’s no stopping it. But even if they both manage to pull together their frayed hearts, a secret from Bell’s past just might shatter them both.

Michel’s Review

Ben Covington has become my favorite character in The Connections series by Kim Karr.  The man has died, resurrected, hit rock bottom, climbed out of the rubble, and began to build a meaningful and productive new life.  He has suffered the loss of a fiance, the loss of his mother, the loss of the career he gave his life up for, and the loss of his true sense of self.  It took hitting rock bottom to realize that there is more to life than loss.  Life is what you make of it.  The one thing that has been consistant in his past life and his present life is the undeniable chemistry he has Bell Wilde.  She threatened his past life and now she may be the one that makes his new life meaningful.

Ben and Bell had a passionate one night stand in college.  That one night affected both of their lives very differently.  For Ben is was the threat of his fiance finding out about his indiscretion.  It could cause him to lose the woman he has loved all his life.  For Bell that night left scars on her soul and led to an event that would forever haunt her life.

Ben kept secrets to save his relationship with his fiance.  Bell kept secrets to save her sanity.  Now both are alone and single.  Their paths keep crossing and the attraction they felt in college is still undeniable.  Can these two overcome their past indiscretions and build a life of love and happiness.  Will their secrets still keep them apart.

Ben Covington knows the value of life.  He has had to rebuild a new life for himself.  He is positive that nothing can keep him from rebuilding one with Bell Wilde.

I loved Ben and Bells story.  They are both charismatic individuals that have had some heavy obstacles to overcome.  Both are strong people that have a passion for life.  Their story will melt your heart.

Kim Karr has created a well written series that keeps the readers addicted.  Not only do the characters experience an epic love story individually, they are all connected in some way.  It is fantastic how Kim Karr has woven an intricate web of past and present circumstances that connect all the characters in some way.  I look forward to the next book in this series and how the characters will be Connected.

I highly recommend Frayed and The Connections series by Kim Karr.  It will not disappoint!

THE TRUTH WILL SET THEM FREE

Brayelle Bates has always been a force of nature. Even as a child, Bray’s wild and carefree spirit intimidated everyone around her. The only person who’s ever truly understood her is her best friend, Elias Kline. Though every fiber of her being wants to stay with Elias forever, Bray can’t bear the thought of him discovering her agonizing history. She’s done everything she can to keep him at arm’s length, including moving away. But their undying bond was too strong a pull to deny, and Bray couldn’t survive without him. Now she’s back home with Elias, and things have never felt more right–until one night changes everything.

Elias vowed never to be separated from Bray again. So when she decides to flee in a desperate attempt to escape her fate, Elias knows he must go with her. As the two try to make the most of their circumstance, taking up with a reckless group of new friends, Elias soon realizes there’s a darkness driving Bray he can’t ignore. Excerpt

Bray and I spent the whole night in the field chasing the fireflies and laying on the grass, staring up at the stars. She told me all about her sister, Rian, and how she was a snob and was always mean to Bray. I told her about my parents, because I didn’t have any brothers or sisters. She said I was lucky. We talked forever, it seemed. We may have been young, but we connected deeply on that night. I knew we would be great friends, even better friends than Mitchell and I had been, and I had known him since first grade, when he had tried to con me out of my peach cup at lunch.

And before the night was over, we made a pact with each other that would later prove to see us through some very troubled times.

“Promise we’ll always be best friends,” Bray said, lying next to me. “No matter what. Even if you grow up ugly and I grow up mean.”

I laughed. “You’re already mean!”

She elbowed me.

“And you’re already ugly,” she said with a blush in her cheeks.

I gave in, though really I needed no convincing. “OK, I promise.”

We gazed back up at the stars; her fingers were interlaced and her hands rested on her belly.

I had no idea what I was getting into with Brayelle Bates. I didn’t know about such things when I was nine. I didn’t know. But I would never regret a moment with her. Never.

Bray and I were found early the following morning, fast asleep in the grass. We were awoken by three cops; Mr. Parson, who owned the land; and my frantic mother, who thought I had been kidnapped from my room, stuffed in a suitcase, and thrown on the side of a highway somewhere.

“Elias! Oh dear God, I thought you were gone!” She scooped me into her arms and squeezed me so tight I thought my eyeballs were going to burst out of the sockets. She pulled away, kissed me on the forehead, embarrassing the crap out of me, and then squeezed me again.

Bray’s mom and dad were there, too.

“Have you been out here all night with him?” Bray’s dad asked with a sharp edge in his voice.

My mom immediately went into defensive mode. She stood up the rest of the way with me and wrapped one arm around the front of me, pressing my head against her stomach.

“That daughter of yours,” my mom said, and already I was flinching before she finished, “she has a mouth on her. My son would never have snuck out unless he was influenced.”

Oh geez…

I sighed and threw my head back against her.

“Mom, I—”

“Are you blaming this on my daughter?” Bray’s mother said, stepping up front and center.

“As a matter of fact, I am,” my mom said boldly.

Bray started to shrink behind her dad and every second that passed I felt even worse about her being blamed.

Before this got too out of hand, I broke away from my mom’s arms. “Dammit, Mom—!” Her eyes grew wide and fierce, and I stopped midsentence.

“Watch your mouth, Elias!” Then she looked at Bray’s mom again and added,

“See, Elias never uses language like that.”

“Stop it! Please! I snuck out on my own, so leave Bray out of it!”

I hated shouting. I hated that I had to put my mom in her place like that, but I spoke what I felt in my heart, and that was something my mom always taught me to do. Take up for the bullied, Elias. Never stand back and watch someone take advantage of someone else, Elias. Always do and say what you know in your heart to be right, no matter what, Elias.

I hoped she would remember those things when we were back at home.

My mom sighed deeply and I watched the anger deflate with her breath. “I apologize,” she said to Bray’s parents. “Really, I am sorry. I was just so scared something had happened to him.”

Bray’s mom nodded, accepting my mom’s apology with sincerity. “I understand. I’m sorry, too. I’m just glad they’re safe.”

Bray’s dad said nothing. I got the feeling he wasn’t as forgiving as her mom had been.

I was grounded for the rest of the summer for that stunt I pulled. And yes, I met the fly swatter that day, after which I vowed never to sneak out of the house again. But whenever it came to Bray, from that time up until we graduated high school, I did sneak out. A lot. But I never got caught again after that first time.

I know you must be wondering why after so many years of being best friends, attending the same school, working together at the local Dairy Queen, even often sharing a bed, why we never became something more to each other.

Well, the truth is that we did.

Michel’s Review

Wow! Song of the Fireflies by J. A. Redmerski is an honest, compelling, consuming story of a young couple facing a very terrifying reality. It is beyond one of the best books I have read that deals with a very real problem many face in life ( I can’t say too much because it would give away spoilers).

Song of the Fireflies is a story of true love and the devotion to that love. It is story of facing the realities in life and learning to deal with those realities. Learning that mistakes can force people to make poor choices. It is not a simple matter of facing a mistake and learning from it. It is a story of recognizing why these mistakes are made and recognizing what led to making these mistakes. It is story of giving up oneself for the one you love. Taking a risk of losing that person in order to let that person have a healthy and happy life.

This story is beautifully written. It addresses an issue that affects many people. It is brutally honest about how this issue not only affects that person, it affects every single person that loves them. It is a story of destruction. This is a story of destruction, irrationality, excessive behavior, delusion, and poor judgement. It is also a story of unconditional love, acceptance, hope, healing, and learning to cope with one’s reality. It is a story of learning how to reach your happily ever after.

I loved the cast of characters in this book. Not only were Elias and Bray strong characters that the reader sympathized with, the new friends they chose caught the readers attention. These characters showed strengths and flaws that we could easily identify with. They showed that there are many facets to each and every individual.

If you have read the Edge books you will recognize a scene from that book in Song of the Fireflies. That scene will be from a different characters perspective and you will look at it in an entirely different way. Andrew and Camryn’s take will stay the same but you will see what exactly happened and why. I love when an author can intermix their books into another story and make it work.

J. A. Redmerski delivered a truthful rendition of a life many people are living. I highly recommend this book.

The Moment Of Letting Go

Coming April 2015

2cb3f-add-to-goodreads-buttonHe kisses me passionately for three brief seconds, his hands gripping the sides of my face, and we’re both breathless when he says, “I wanted to tell you about Landon. I wanted to tell you a lot of things, but I knew you had to go home and none of it would’ve mattered.”

I touch his lips with two of my fingers. “You can tell me whenever you’re ready. I’m here to listen, and I’m not going anywhere. There’s nothing you can say to scare me away. I won’t leave again unless it’s what you want. I still have four days left of my vacation and I want to spend them with you.”
“I want you to stay.”
“Then I’m staying.”
“What about after that?”
“We’ll figure it out.”
He gazes into my eyes, searching for something, I could never know what, but I think he finds it because his lips smash against mine and he kisses me hungrily. I feel my body being lifted into the air, my legs wrapped around his waist, and the air in the room hitting me as he carries me quickly through it, never breaking the kiss. In seconds I feel the comfort of his bed beneath my back and his lumpy pillows I missed so much, around my head.
We strip off each other’s clothes clumsily and Luke is on top of me before I can even catch my breath. But I don’t need my breath when I have his, and his kiss is deep and forceful and it alone makes my body dizzy with need.

Series: Crimson Reign, book #2

Synopsis

Not everything in Heaven is as holy as it seemsÖ

In Crimson Ties, the second installment of the Crimson Nights Saga, Laziel is nowhere to be found, and with the ferocity of Malachi Denaliís vampiric temperament growing out of control, Romeís Vatican enclave and those that dwell there risk everything to keep their Kingís throne out of Darklon De Sangueís treacherous hands.

As Darklonís mental state deteriorates, his treasonous plans to overthrow Malachi know no bounds. With Arial dancing upon a deadly double-edged sword and working to gain Darklonís trust, this continuing saga keeps everyone on tenterhooks as new treaties are strengthened and friendships are forged by oaths and blood.

Will Laziel return in time to save Malachi from those that threaten the male he loves, or will the fury of Malachiís distain for emotion see Laziel ascend if he refuses to accept the hand that destiny has dealt him and the gift of his angelís love?

With emotions running high, and Malachiís past turning up to haunt them both in the form of the mysterious Vischeral Bourne, the twists and turns may prove too much for Laziel and his vampire. While Malachi and Laziel struggle with fate, an alliance with the wolves and the secrets behind the Nephilim and their sadistic Queen threaten to rock the very foundations of the supernatural world.

Lis’ Review

The story of Malachi Denali, king of the vampires, and his Angel Laziel continues in book two of the Crimson Nights series. Crimson Reign was a roller coaster ride.. Crimson Ties is an explosion of emotions as the ride crests the peak and hurtles down the steep tracks into the abyss. Every chapter will leave you with your mouth gaping open, struggling to hold on as one powerful event after another propels you through the story. It’s exciting, it’s terrifying, and you just can’t wait for more.

Book One set us up in the world of the vampire king and his enclave beneath the Vatican in Rome. We met his Angel, his court, his allies and his enemies. Book Two gives so much more detail on all the characters as the complex plot to bring down Malachi by the very evil Darklon unfolds. And that’s what makes this book so exciting. As we learn more about the characters who were secondary in book one, we begin to see the ties that bind them all together. These authors have woven a story pattern that tightly connects Vischeral and Copi, Tobias and Roman, Arial and Bastien, Celix and Clariel and of course the ever-cool Ms. Stroner, who somehow manages to bring order to the chaos around her. Crumbling enclave? Just step over the rubble. Disagree with your boss? Call him out. Emotions so strong they create cataclysmic battles between vampires and fallen angels? She strides through it all with an elegance that catches everyone’s notice.

Lachi and Laziel/Lorenza are the main characters, but Visheral and Copi stole my heart. I laughed at their banter, tapped my foot at their reluctance to come together, cheered when they realized the love they both felt and cried at the way it all turned out. Tobias and Roman are the couple that romances are made of.. sweet, loving, and playful, the complete contrast to Vish and Copi’s intense, conflicted yet powerful connection. Angels of every kind pop up in this story, from the Fallen to the celestial, the Nephilim to the guardians. There is evil to balance out the angelic: Darklon’s depravity, and the Nephilim Queen’s sick torture lead us to two giant suprises that ultimately affect just about everyone in the book.

Each character’s development brings us right back to the epicenter of the story… Lachi and Laziel. Different types of love, different ties that bind, but through it all we strive to discover what exactly will happen with the vampire king and the angel who deserts him in order to gift him with the ultimate symbol of a profound love. .. their child. This book is a must read if you want to experience the terror of true evil, the exhilaration of non-stop action, and the power of love. All these make up the Crimson Ties.

Book #1 Crimson Reign

Synopsis

A pulse of light preceded the gift of life breathed into the coldest and darkest of souls. Bathed in the glow of celestial love and swathed in a blanket of black satin wings nestled a king among kings, a vampire born to destroy the decay threatening to eradicate the race he was destined to save.

An angelic heart torn by yearning, suffering and pain throbbed to the rhythm of the life he created; a life prophesied in the scriptures by the Creatorís own hand. A vow of servitude given in blood sealed the fate of a Seraphimís heart and tied it eternally to the creation he craves, protectsÖloves.

Ancient treaties are lost and reborn, rising from the ashes as the Nephilim ravage the vampire race. The deviant desire that soared in Malachi Denaliís blood threatens to bring Rome to its knees when Malachiís world, his soul and his heart are brutally shattered and torn apart.

Will purity born of an angelís love be enough to calm the savage mind of Malachi Denali? Or will Laziel be doomed to a life of purgatory for loving the life he was gifted to createÖ

This is not a HEA, or even a HFNÖ.Who knows what will happen to seal their fateÖonly time will tell. Vampires, angels, demons and wolves together with love, betrayal, sadness and yearning make up the ongoing story that isÖ

Synopsis

The plan was simple—figure out what role she played in my father’s death and expose her to the world.

*This romance novel contains explicit content and is not advised for readers under 18*

My name is Lizzie Connelly, and I have it all. The gorgeous apartment. The new job most women would rip out their own souls for—working for Margaret Emerson at Emerson & Taylor. I have one of those lives you’ve always dreamt about, the kind you only see on HBO. But, the thing is, that life is a lie. A façade.

It all started with one call. “Everything you know about your story—your father’s story—is a lie. It’s up to you to uncover everything.” One call, and I turned my world upside down to dig my way into Margaret’s life—the woman who I’d never laid eyes on until recently. My stepmother who took everything after my father died fourteen years ago.

But here’s another thing: simplicity doesn’t exist, and my plans are flawed from the beginning because I never anticipated Oliver. Sexy, too smart for his own good, and infuriating, he’s the one person who could blow my plans to uncover Margaret. She’s his mother, and in another life, that would have made him my stepbrother.

I want to pretend that none of that matters, that I can simply finish what I came to do without sparing him a second glance and another thought.

Like I said, though, there’s no such thing as simplicity.

My real name is Gemma Emerson.

And this is my story.

Tracey’s Review

Gemma Emerson’s life could be divided into two parts, ‘Before’ and ‘After.’ ‘Before’ was the life she’d created for herself in Las Vegas, the one that began when she lost all that was dear to her and she was left on her own. ‘After’ is her new life, the one that started after the phone call that changed her life and made her question everything that she’d believed for the last fourteen years.

When Gemma receives a phone call from an unknown source, telling her that the facts surrounding the death of her father are not what they seem, she cannot rest until she uncovers the truth. With the help of Pen, her best friend and hacker extraordinaire, Gemma recreates herself as Lizzie Connelly, leaves Las Vegas for Los Angeles, and sets out to figure out what really happened all those years ago.

I am a huge fan of Emily Snow. She just gets more amazing with each book she writes, and she has totally blown it out of the water with Uncovered. This story is unlike any that she’s written so far. Lizzie’s strength and determination in figuring out the truth behind the lies that she was told by her stepmother, Margaret Emerson, make for a read that I could NOT put down. The plot is fresh, fast-paced, and interesting, and the characters are well-written, and add so much to the story. Pen, Linc, Oliver (oh, my gosh, Oliver!), and even Margaret and Finley, bring so much color to the story, and are all great foils for Lizzie. And, about Oliver: he is one of the hottest book boyfriends I’ve had the pleasure to get to know lately, and his interactions with Lizzie are by turn off-the-charts hot and sweet and sexy.

If you haven’t read Uncovered yet, I suggest that you move it to the top of your TBR, and make a date to read it soon; You will not be sorry!

EXCERPT:

That’s how I spot her.

There’s no doubt that it’s her; I’ve memorized her face.

Leaning against a wall on the opposite side, her lips wrapped around a clear bottle filled with clear liquor, her fiery red hair a wild mane against the stark white wall, a tight black T-shirt showing off toned arms. She’s in no rush to part with that bottle, guzzling back a good portion before she hands it off to someone, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.

Her eyes at half-mast.

She’s wasted.

My heart starts racing. What the hell is Kacey Cleary doing here? By my calculation, she’s probably finishing her last year of high school, having lost at least half a year while recovering.

I tug my cap down even farther, though I doubt she can see two feet in front of her.

  1. What if she does recognize me? How would she react? Does she know my real name? What I look like? I can’t say for sure that my face wasn’t printed in a newspaper somewhere. She could have Googled my name and found a dozen game shots with me in them. I have my helmet on in most of them, but you can find a profile picture of me easily enough if you’re looking.

I don’t know that she was, though. I wonder if Kacey Cleary gives a fuck about anything anymore. Her Facebook account is inactive. She hasn’t posted a single word and the well-wishes have dwindled, as everyone moves on.

I do know that she shouldn’t be at a party in this state. I’ve heard of bad things happening when girls get that drunk. Especially when they don’t care.

But what do I do?

A blonde stumbles into my chest with two beers in hand. “Hey, do you go here? What’s your name?” She’s tipping her head back way farther than necessary to look up at me, telling me she’s trying to flirt but is too drunk to do it right.

I smile down at her anyway. She’s a good cover. I can stand right here and watch Kacey. “I’m Trent, and I used to go here.”

“Really? When’d you graduate?”

From the corner of my eye, I see Kacey shift from the wall and begin climbing the stairs, her arm hooked around the railing to help her. Two guys following her.

About IN HER WAKE:

Cole Reynolds had it all. And then one night he makes a bad choice… and loses everything.

When a drunken night out at a Michigan State college party results in the death of six people, Cole must come to terms with his part in the tragedy. Normally, he’d be able to lean on his best friends. The best friends that have been in his life since he could barely walk. Only, they’re gone. Worse, there’s the shattered body of a sixteen-year-old girl lying somewhere in a hospital bed, her entire life ripped from her because of a case of beer and a set of keys.

Everyone assures him that they know it wasn’t intentional and yet he can’t ignore the weight of their gazes, the whispers behind his back. The all-consuming guilt he feels every time he thinks of that girl who won’t so much as allow him near her hospital room to apologize. As the months go by and the shame and loneliness festers, Cole begins to lose his grip of what once was important-college, his girlfriend, his future. His life. It’s not until Cole hits rock-bottom that he can begin to see another way out of his personal hell: forgiveness.

And there’s only one person who can give that to him…

TEN TINY BREATHS

ONE TINY LIE

FOUR SECONDS TO LOSE

FIVE WAYS TO FALL

6 Star Read Michel’s Review

I am a huge fan of the Ten Tiny Breaths series by K.A. Tucker.  I was hooked the moment I read Ten Tiny Breaths.  Every book in this series has been excellent and maintained the high standards of the previous books in this series.

When I saw that In Her Wake was releasing I was very excited.  It is the prequel to Ten Tiny  Breaths from Cole’s / Trent’s POV.  I thought I knew the story that lead Trent to Kacey’s side in Miami.  But like anything in life, there are two sides to a story.  Two people can experience the same life impacting moment and be affected differently.  They both will carry the emotional trauma throughout their lives and be forever changed because of it. How the individual deals with the trauma, reacts to the impact of that moment, and changes because of it is uniquely theirs.  No one can say one person had it harder or easier than the other.  They are both affected and have earned their emotional scars.

As Cole’s story about the night of the accident unfolds, we see a very different person than the one we met in Ten Tiny Breaths.  We get to meet Cole (not Trent).  We get a glimpse of his happy life, a life full of laughter, friendship, love, and happy family.  We see a young man very secure with himself and his bright shining future.  One moment changed everything.  He lost his best friends, shattered his family, destroyed another family, and most of all he lost himself.  Cole Reynolds died in that accident and Trent Emerson was born.  These two men are completely different from each other and yet they share the same body, the same mind, and the same family.  One destroyed his perfect life and the other is just trying to get through life day to day, moment to moment.

In Her Wake is an emotional story that makes your heart bleed for Cole and his family.  The devastation to their lives is heart wrenching.

K. A. Tucker handled Cole’s / Trent’s story with tender loving care.  She gave the readers another reason to love this man completely. Cole needed hugs and a reason to go on. K.A. Tucker gave him to us…now he will have more hugs and love than he ever thought he deserved.  Thank you for giving us Cole and our friends in the Ten Tiny Breaths series.

In Her Wake is a powerful novella.  It has become my favorite book from the Ten Tiny Breaths series.

A summer of f*ck buddies? Something to take the edge off? I was down.

But when Chloe shows up at my hotel door, wanting to rip my head off, rather than give me head—I cared. A lot. Too much, in fact.

This is turning into more. And I can’t do more.

Like the ink under my skin she’s becoming permanent. Enduring. Immovable.

Was I ready to let her go though?

Not a f*cking chance.

Michel’s Review

Indiscretion Volume 3 by Elisabeth Grace has gone beyond readers expectations. Elisabeth Grace intensified the plot, added a new twist that has readers mystified, added new characters, and taken Max and Chloe’s fragile relationship to a whole new level.

Indiscretion Volume 3 picks right up where Volume 2 has left off. Chloe is confronting Max about his business agenda and how it affects her. Max’s explanation is more than satisfying, it is downright erotic and emotional. It still appears that he has a secret agenda and is hiding a multitude of secrets from Chloe.

Their relationship will continue on the out of control rollercoaster ride until both are willing to let go of their pasts, misconceptions, secrets, and give into their true emotional feelings. They now not only have to battle each other but also an enemy that could destroy them both. They can confront this enemy together with a united front or they can do it solo and lose the one thing they both need more than anything, each other.

No matter how hard they try to deny their feelings , their erotic chemistry is the glue that keeps them together. Although we know it is much more than their sexual needs being satisfied. What starts out as a not strings attached summer relationship is turning into much more.

In this installment to the series we get a better understanding of the characters, their motivations, and personalities. Although Max still remains somewhat mysterious. I think we are going to be surprised when his persona is cracked open and exposed to the readers.

This volume was sizzling hot. It ended on a cliffhanger that had my heart racing and my loyalties to Max in question.

September 15, 2014 cannot get here fast enough. I need to know what is going to happen in the finale volume, Indiscretion Volume 4. I have no doubt Elisabeth Grace is going to give the readers a grand finale that will have fireworks.

Author Bio:

Elisabeth GraceWelcome! I’m Elisabeth Grace, or El if you prefer, and I write New Adult Contemporary Romance. been an avid reader my entire life, but when I discovered romance novels during my first pregnancy I was hooked! Not sure if it was the hormones or the lack of a life that was headed my way once my daughter was born, but since then I’ve been devouring several romance books a week. I love nothing more than reading about some serious alpha males and a happily ever after.

Things you should know about me…

I live outside Toronto, Canada…eh. (Yes, it’s true. We Canadians say ‘eh’ A LOT.)

I’m a wife and mommy to two small children which I refer to as Little Miss and Mr. Magoo.

I own one cat spawned by the devil. Seriously. He’s as cute as they come but you’ve never met a meaner feline. In retrospect we should have named him, Lucifer. I have the scars to prove it.

I believe there’s no such thing as too much chocolate. Or popcorn. Or bread. Or potatoes. Yes, you guessed it…I’m a sugar and carb addict.

I hate running. Always have, always will. Unless David Gandy’s in the vicinity you won’t find me doing it. Ever. Not sure who David Gandy is and think you might want to become a Gandy Girl like me? Google him. You can thank me later.

I’m a LOVER of all music. The 1200+ songs on my IPod can attest to the variety of my musical tastes. Hubby and I try to travel to a different music festival every year and are regular concert goers.

My name is Elisabeth and I like reality TV. There I admitted it and that’s the first step, right? Yes, I’m a writer and I see the need for scripted shows, but sometimes there’s just something so entertaining about watching one Real Housewife lose it on another one. I could listen to Cochran’s diatribe on his fellow castaways for hours.

Of the four of us that make up my family, three of us are Leo’s. Let’s say it together…DRAMA!

I may be the world’s worst cook. My poor children. Unless Daddy’s cooking they know not to expect much.

I write every night after my kids are in bed until the wee hours of the morning. This wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that I have always been an early-bird-catches-the-worm kind-of girl, so 5:00am comes early. Sleep is over-rated, I say.

If you are a lover of romance novels, steamy bedroom scenes and alpha males than you may enjoy my stories! 🙂

I LOVE talking with fellow readers about books! There’s nothing better than discovering your next favorite read because someone recommended it to you! If you’re the same I’d encourage you to reach out to me via one of my social media links so we can chat!

Happy Reading!

Best,

“What are you doing?” I asked breathily, licking my lips and silently begging him to kiss me.

He didn’t answer at first. He looked at me predatorily before leaning down to nibble on my neck. The feeling of his teeth lightly grazing my skin while the threat of someone walking down the hallway and turning the corner made me clench tightly. His fingers gripped my hips and desire washed over me.  His hands caused goosebumps to erupt everywhere he touched.  My body hummed from the electric currant that flowed between us. The anticipation I felt for Colton’s kiss was almost unbearable.

“What are you doing?” I repeated, wrapping my arms around his neck.

Leaning in so that our lips were almost touching, Colton answered sexily, “You.”

By Jamie McGuire

Synopsis

#1 New York Times Bestseller Jamie McGuire returns to self-publishing with this page-turning YA account of Erin Easter, one of three Erins in the small senior class of rural Blackwell High School who not only share a first name, but also their birthday. Easter, raised by a neglectful single mom, keeps to herself and admires Weston Gates from afar. The other Erins, Erin “Alder” Alderman and Erin “Sonny” Masterson are the darlings of the community: daughters of the two wealthiest families in town, best friends, cheerleaders, and everything Easter isn’t–and they never let her forget it. Alder has even claimed Weston since the 8th grade.

Weston is a well-liked star athlete, and the son of two prominent attorneys. He struggles daily with the pressures of living up to his family name and secretly empathizes with Easter’s feeling that she belongs somewhere else; in a different life. Not until he begins sneaking nights out with Easter does he gain the courage to buck expectations and acknowledge his feelings … both for his future, and for her.

A shocking tragedy rocks the tiny town, and Easter’s life is turned upside down in the best way possible. But when the truth is revealed and everything she thinks she wanted falls into her lap, life only becomes more complicated.

Robin’s Review

Jamie McGuire has returned to self-publishing with her young adult novella, Happenstance. The events of this story take place in the small Oklahoma town of Blackwell. There are three young ladies in the senior class at Blackwell High School named Erin, and they each just happen to share the same birthday. Erin Alderman (Alder) and Erin Masterson (Sonny) both come from quality families and are on the cheerleading squad at school. But our primary character of this story is Erin Easter (Easter).

The mother of Erin Easter is Gina. Gina Easter drinks to numb the anger and resentment she feels for becoming pregnant at a young age and missing out on her dreams. Gina is poor and has spent some time in jail over the years. She is a neglectful mother, but Erin also goes out of her way to avoid interacting with Gina. After school and on the weekends, Erin works at the local Dairy Queen. The only parental influence she has in her life is Frankie, her coworker at Dairy Queen.

The three Erins were close friends when they were young children, especially during kindergarten and first grade. But sometime during fifth grade, circumstances changed between the three friends. Erin Alderman and Erin Masterson began to verbally abuse Erin Easter. The bullying has progressed over the years to include many other students and is nearly constant. Name calling. Cruel rumors. Slander. Social exclusion. Not only does Erin Easter experience verbal bullying at school, but it continues when she is working at Dairy Queen.

Erin Easter has admired Weston Gates for many years, although he has dated Erin Alderman since eighth grade. Weston is part of the popular crowd, and he is a star athlete for Blackwell High School. He has always felt an overwhelming burden to live up to the expectations of his wealthy parents and friends. One day, Weston decides to defend Erin Easter when she is being bullied by his friends. And then, he defends her again. And again. Weston and Erin begin to hang out during the evenings. Soon, they realize they have more in common than they thought they did, and a very sweet relationship develops between the two of them. Weston is very supportive of Erin when karma strikes during the last few weeks of high school.

Jamie McGuire grabbed my attention quickly with her interesting characters and a topic that carries a relevant message for people of all ages. Her writing in this story is beautiful, simple and crisp. The pacing of this novella is ideal, giving it the feel of a full novel. I found Happenstance to be the perfect, relaxing read. I truly enjoyed this story and definitely recommend it!

Maddox

I drive home in comfortable silence. I don’t think I’ve ever been content with comfortable silence with a woman before which is just another reminder of how Avery is different from everyone else. She doesn’t feel the need to talk all the time for the sake of talking.

As we start to approach the city limits of Rivers Edge, I start to wonder what I should do next. If this was any other girl, I’d drive back to her house with no hesitation whatsoever and take her inside. But this is Avery, and like I said, she’s different.

So, I thought maybe we’d stop by my house for a bit if that’s okay with you. This way, someone like Jake doesn’t see my truck parked in your drive and make trouble.” Even to my own ears, I sounded a little nervous as I said it. What the hell? It’s not like it’s my first time taking a girl home. Then it hits me. It is the first time I’m taking a girl home; to my house. I always go to their place. But the thought of Avery in my house, my bed, just feels right.

That sounds good,” she says with another shy smile. I love that smile; it’s filled with happiness and innocence. I turn off Main Street and head down Lincoln towards my house. When I reach my house, I pull into the drive and kill the engine. I hop out and walk around to her door. When I open it, she seems slightly hesitant, maybe even nervous.

I can take you home if you want.”

No,” she quickly throws out there. “I want to be here…with you.” There’s that damn smile again. I extend my hand to her and help her down from the truck and head inside.

When we step inside the dark recesses of my living room, I start to walk towards the lamp but she catches me by the arm, stopping me. I turn to look at her. The only light in the room is what moonlight is filtering through the window. Standing there in my darkened living room, light glowing off her blond hair, she looks stunning. She extends her hand up to cradle my cheek, her other hand runs up my abdomen from my stomach to rest on my chest. I step closer to her, looking deep into her eyes. She must have realized she was holding her breath because she lets out a big breath which comes out a little shaky. I look deep into her crystal blue eyes, and that’s when I see it. Lust. Desire. Trust.

My resolve shatters like a glass vase with that one look as I push her back against my front door. Our lips are urging each other on as our desire for each other completely takes over. She runs her tongue down my neck, and I almost come completely undone in my pants like a teenage boy by that one simple move. I cradle her ass in my hands and lift her up. She threads her legs around my waist, her hands diving into my hair. I lean against her, pushing her back into the door, and she moans. It’s the sexiest fucking sound I’ve ever heard and all I can think about is being deep inside her, making her moan over and over and over again.

I press hot kisses along her chin, down her delectable neck and lick the spot where her pulse is rapidly beating. “Tell me to stop, Avery. Tell me to stop right now and I will. But if you say nothing, I’m taking you back to my room and burying myself deep inside you. I’m going to make you come and scream my name. All. Night. Long. Tell me you want this as much as I do.”

I want this,” she whispers without hesitation and that’s all I need to hear.

Kristyn’s Review

Avery is the only girl in a family with four older brothers. She is the baby who has been pampered and loved since the moment she was born. Her brother’s couldn’t protect her from everything, however. At 19 she found herself pregnant and alone. Her boyfriend was a cheating douche bag who had been sleeping around for a while.
She was determined to make the best of her situation and despite dating another cheating loser she hoped she would find the man that would be the perfect father to her daughter and the perfect husband for her.
Maddox is the best friend of Jake, Avery’s oldest brother. Avery was always off limits but that didn’t mean that he didn’t notice her or want her for himself. For years he pushed away the attraction knowing that if he ever acted on it he would get his ass kicked by Jake.
Avery had a crush on Maddox for a while. She figured he would never see her as anything other than his best friends little sister so she never acted on her feelings.
But then he kissed her (again) and couldn’t deny his feelings for her anymore. He had never been in a real relationship and wasn’t sure that’s what he wanted. He just knew that he had to be with her, spend time with her. Slowly and steadily Brooklyn and Avery worked their way into his heart until he couldn’t deny that they were what he needed to make him happy.
Trust Me is a wonderful book about going after what you want and trusting in the strength of another person even though it’s hard when you’ve had nothing but bad past experiences. Avery and Maddox have such a powerful connection and an attraction that even threats from older brother’s could stop. The family unit in this book was strong and entertaining. I can’t wait to see what happens to the next member of the Stevens clan.

By Lisa Renee Jones

Synopsis

The fourth in the Inside Out erotic romance series by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, this steamy novel resolves Chris and Sarah’s relationship and leads into Mark’s story.

“Chris and I have faced our demons and bared our souls to one another in Paris. Now that we are back home in San Francisco, I want to believe that nothing can tear us apart. Not Ava’s accusations against me to the police, or Chris’s fear that he will destroy me as he feels he did Amber. And not Mark, who was once too intimately a part of our lives, and who I can see crumbling inside out. He believes he is invincible, just as I want to believe Chris and I are invincible. We have to be invincible. We need each other too much for any other ending.

Excerpt

no in between teaser 1

My fingers wrap his wrist. “I know you want to protect me, and I love you for that more than you know.”

“Yet too easily, you found a reason to shut me out tonight. Trust isn’t a fair-weather friend. It’s about a willingness to be vulnerable and exposed.”

“And I am willing to do that. That’s why I’m here now.”

He searches my face, and I don’t know what he looks for, what he needs, or what he finds. He releases me abruptly. “Hold out your hands and lace your fingers together.”

Heat rushes through me with the certainty that I’m about to fully understand the painting he’s created of me. This is him sending me a message. He’s not holding back. My confession, as incomplete as it is, has changed nothing. I offer him my arms, aware as I haven’t been in the past few minutes of my naked body, my breasts pressed together.

Chris reaches into his back pocket and produces a roll of art tape, using it to wrap my wrists. Task complete, he bends my elbows and presses my wrists to my chest, his fingers covering the bindings. He has become dark Chris, the dominant Master who never shows emotion; the Chris who arouses me in ways I would never believe a man could.

“Sit down,” he orders, and the way he manages such force with what is no more than a whisper stirs heat low in my body.

My throat is dry and my heart beats so loudly I am certain Chris can hear. I squat and he follows me down, steadying me so I don’t fall without the use of my hands. “All the way,” he murmurs, gently nudging me until my bare backside is on the floor.

He angles my knees up toward my chest, with my feet out enough to stabilize my body. His long lashes lower, half-moons on his cheeks, and I sense him struggling with what has passed between us. He knows I need to see he won’t hold back, but this isn’t just for me. I think he really needs this, too, for me to show him, not tell him, how much I trust him.

Chris tapes my ankles and then throws the roll over his shoulder. My nerve endings are so alive, so on edge that the roll hits the ground like a thundering drum that seems to radiate through the room, through my body. His hands come down on my knees and the touch sweeps over me, awakening nerve endings in the most intimate and unforgiving of places. I feel this man everywhere, I want him everywhere. But as if he knows what I feel, and he means to deny me, he withdraws. I shiver with a sudden cold certain to linger. He will torment me, make me wait for him. Make me beg.

He stands up, towering over me, and I stare up at him, trying to read him, the anticipation of what comes next tingling through me. And it’s supposed to. I see that in his eyes, and I am reminded of his words when I’d first seen the painting. It’s about trust. The kind of trust I want from you and have no right to ask for. He’s going to push me. He’s going to take me somewhere uncomfortable. Somewhere I might not want to go, but I will. With Chris, I will.

Tracey’s Review

Chris Merritt and and Sara McMillan have worked through all of their personal demons in Paris, and returned to San Francisco, determined to put their pasts behind them and begin their life together. Before they can move forward, though, they are faced with wading through the chaos that awaits them at home. Just when it seems that the mystery behind the disappearance and death of Rebecca Mason has been solved, new questions emerge that leave everything up in the air, and leave them wondering who, exactly, can be trusted.

Lisa Renee Jones had written another fabulous installment in the ‘Inside Out’ series, creating plot twists that leave you wondering where the heck the story is heading. When I started reading this book, I was sure that the whole mystery of what, and at whose hands, had happened to Rebecca. But, in just a few short pages, Lisa Renee managed to throw all that I thought I knew right out of the window. New evidence, less-than-honest disclosures by key players, and a case that threatens to leave everyone involved as collateral damage make for a read that I was unable to put down. Added to the main story, we’re also left asking what ever happened to Sara’s friend Ella. Did she meet the same fate as Rebecca, or is her story really the fairytale that she painted to Sara?

Lisa Renee Jones is the mistress of erotic intrigue, and writes one heck of a cliff-hanger, but the story is just so compelling that I can’t help but eagerly await ‘I Belong To You,’ the next book in the series. Five stars for this hot, sexy, and action packed read.
