“Come here,” Styx says, giving my arm a weak tug.

           “Where?”

           “Come lie with me.”

           I laugh and shake my head. “I can’t. I’ll squash your lines.”

           “They’re plastic; they’ll bounce back.” His face turns serious, and the desperation in his eyes claws at my resolve. “Get your sweet ass up here, Stones. I wanna hold my girl.”

           It takes a little maneuvering with his central line and heart-rate monitor, and my IV, but eventually I settle in against his side and he wraps his good arm around me, holding me as tightly as his weak body will allow.

           I wish we had the power to make time wait for us.

           I’d make it wait forever, right here. I’d use up all of the seconds it’s stolen from me, from us, and the lifetime it’s going to steal from our future. If I had the ability, I’d hit pause right here, and I’d never let him go.

Sara Ney has become one of my favorite authors in the New Adult and Sports Romance genres.  Her books are fun, snarky, cocky, oddly romantic, and emotionally charged. She captures the college sports enthusiasm as well as the free spirited sub-culture in the college academia world. After all , not every one goes to college for higher enlightment and the freshman fifteen expansion. Some go for the overall “experience”. Sara captures every aspect of college life while maintaining the individuality and personal vulnerabilities of each character. She lets the readers to become spectators in the magical experience of falling in love.

Jackson Jennings isn’t the typical jock on Jock Row. He is completely focused on his football career and his academics. He knows college and sports are his only chance to make a better future for himself. 2019 Favorite

Wild Tendy by Toni Aleo is the second book in the IceCats Series. This new series is a spin off of the Assassins Series and The Bellevue Bullies Series. Like the Assassins series, Toni touches her reader’s hearts by tackling emotional, physical, and social issues that are prominent in today’s society. The reader can easily connect with the characters and embrace them completely . Wild Tendy is by far my favorite book she has written.

Most people think Nico Merryweather is a wild one. He’s a notable player with the ladies and has gained quite the reputation. He is also one of the best goalies in the NHL and has magic gloves. His fans excuse his bad behavior and the ladies encourage it. Nico Merryweather is not as simple or as easy going as most people think he is. His antics are a mask to hide the real Nico, the complex Nico, the Nico with extreme issues. He hides behind his goalie mask and his beautiful looks. The women in their family have a genetic curse and she’s determined to save her sister from it.

Life is hard but both Aviva and Nico have the strength to face all of it’s challenges. They just have to be willing to share their secrets and accept their realities.

I absolutely loved this book because both characters were vulnerable to things they couldn’t change but had the strength to live with it. I loved how they shared their challenging lives through their hearts rather than their heads. It was truly a beautiful story that will inspire so many people.

I saw Toni Aleo at the Naughty In Nashville book signing and had to give her a big thank you and hug for writing this book. This book showcased the true meaning of love and the inspiration to never lose hope!

“You ready?” I gripped my drumsticks tightly in my right hand as the screaming from the crowd pierced my ears, causing an onslaught of adrenaline to pulse beneath my skin.

Drew, one of the leading frontmen for our band, Adrenaline, rolled his eyes and shot me a middle finger. Then he straight-up tugged his leather pants down below his hips to show off his legendary V.

We get it, bro, you’ve got an eight-pack where there’s usually only six.

With a flourish, I pulled off my simple white tee and shrugged. “What? Two can play that game.”

“Seriously, guys?” Will gave me a shove. “They already gave us shit last time about you two comparing dicks. It’s the Grammys, not the Super Bowl. We have to be clothed.”

I eyed him up and down. “Question. Was it your plan to go out there looking like the dad of the group, or was it just a happy accident?” He was in skinny jeans and a simple vintage tee and wore his typical thick black glasses that somehow still got him action from his wife, actress Angelica Greene. It was confusing when Will got action and I didn’t.

Not that I wasn’t getting any.

I inwardly smirked. I was dating one of our background dancers, while at the same time hooking up with one of Zane’s—both of which were performing with us tonight. Hey, it wasn’t like I planned for them to ever meet! And before you get your panties in a twist and start calling me a whore while chanting things like “I pray your dick falls off,” let me explain.

Abandon by Rachel Van Dyken is a fun, angsty, and heartwarming second chance romance .

Ty Cuban, bad boy rocker, has been spiraling downward ever since he had his heart broken years ago by Von Abigail. After a disaster at the grammy’s, his bandmates force him to take a rated G break at a Rock Camp for kids in Seaside, Oregon. He’s looking forward to a little down time and a break from his own antics. It’s a chance to get back to the basics of music and a re-discover his passion. He thought he would find his passion through his music and his peace through sharing his skills with the kids but fate had another scenario in mind for him. Von Abigail is working at the camp and turning his world upside down once again. She broke him once and he will never allow her that much power in his life. Who is he fooling, his heart has other ideas.

When Abigail finds herself without a place to stay she has to turn to Ty. She knows he hates her but she also knows he’s a stand up guy with a good heart. Surely they can call a truce for two months.

Abigail and Ty are residing under the same roof and so far Seaside, Oregon hasn’t went up in flames. Maybe they can get through the animosity and find the love they both were determined to extinguish years ago. They both had their issues and have learned from the hard knocks in life. They have both grown up and are adults. They just have to let go of it all, abandon the past.

The Seaside gang is there to play their parts in being cupid. The dishwashers won’t get fixed, marshmallows are still a food group, the birds are still just as frightening, and the gang is still meddling,  Their group text are going strong and their seaside interventions are working. They still have other tricks up their sleeves for their stubborn friends. They want Ty and Abigail to have the same kind of happiness they have found in their lives. They just have to convince them to Abandon their past and open their hearts for a new beginning. Ty and Abigail deserve a happily ever after.

Once again Rachel Van Dyken delivered another heartwarming addition to the Seaside Pictures Series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Abandon.
