When you find an author whose books make you laugh, cry, and feel like you’re among a group of people that you absolutely love, well, you’ve found your people, and you hold onto them with both hands. Author Lexi Blake is my people, and I absolutely adore her and her books, filled as they always are with wit, humor, sass, sarcasm, adrenaline-pumping suspense, family, and love. Always love.

LIVE, LOVE, SPY, the second book in Lexi’s Masters & Mercenaries: New Recruits series, is Louisa Ward’s and TJ Taggart’s story, and I don’t think that I could have loved it more. Lou finally gets to show that she is so much more than the brainy one, the sensible one, the one that you can depend on to sit behind the computer and get things done. To show TJ that she’s more than his friend Lou, that she is a strong woman, capable of so much more than he knew, the woman that has been there all along, waiting for him to wake the heck up. I mean, the Taggart girls are her besties, so what else would we expect?

Strong women and the men that love them are a given in Lexi’s books, and this new series is extra special, because we’re on to the next generation, the kids that we’ve watched grow up now coming into their own and taking on the world the way that their parents did before them (and still do!). They are the next wave, and are doing a bang-up job showing the spy world what they’re bringing to the table.

Ian ‘Big Tag’ Taggart continues to make me laugh out loud, and seeing him getting served by the younger set some of what he doled out their whole lives is hilarious. Many of the other OG M&M gang make their appearances, doing their best to support the kids, and still show that they’re the bad*sses they’ve always been, lending the air of nostalgia that I so enjoy in this series. LIVE, LOVE, SPY is an immediate favorite for me, and one that Lexi’s fans should not miss (Note: While I do believe that these books can be read as standalones, having read the prior books helps everything make more sense. 😊). I can’t wait to see what’s next for this crew, but in the meantime, make sure that this one is high atop your TBR, and happy reading! ❤️

The Time River series has quickly become a must-read for me, due in equal part to the fact that I am a romantic suspense nut and that the books are beautifully written by author A.L. Jackson. I feel like this might be one of the most challenging genres for an author to write, both in keeping the reader invested without giving anything away too soon, as well as continuing to put out new plots that will keep readers coming back. Amy, however, has truly found her niche, because her books are always fresh, beautifully written, and immediately addictive.

I have been looking forward to Ezra’s HEA since we met him in LOVE ME TODAY, the very first book of the series, and have been following Amy’s trail of bread crumbs to get here. CLAIM ME FOREVER is just the book I was hoping for, and a perfect addition to the Time River series. The love story between and Ezra and Savannah is intensely and unequivocally right, both of them the one that each needs but neither was expecting, and the way that they care for each other, and become everything to each other, is just beautiful. I had my suspicions about the way things were going to play out, but Amy still had plenty of surprises along the way, and, as usual, has given her readers and fans a book that is original, beautiful, and, in the end, redemptive.

I’ll be thinking of this book for a long time to come, the characters and their stories having become, like all of the additions to Amy’s worlds, instant favorites. CLAIM ME FOREVER is an easy 4.5 stars, and one that you shouldn’t miss. Add it to your TBR and enjoy. ❤️

Y’all, this book. THIS BOOK. It’s no secret that I absolutely love author Catherine Cowles and her books. After the way she thrilled my romance-loving heart with Roan’s and Aspen’s story in SHADOWS OF YOU, I wasn’t sure how Lawson Hartley’s tale was going to unfold, or whether it would speak to me in the same way (spoiler: it SO does). You guys, this book is everything.

Age-gap is not always my favorite, but I could not have loved Lawson and Hallie together more. They are perfect for each other, and seeing the eldest Hartley happy at last warms me to my very heart. And, as always, the family support, the friendships and love, the sense of community, all make this trip to Cedar Ridge feel like coming home.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of Catherine’s or new to her books, do NOT miss this one. If you haven’t met the Hartleys yet, you can binge read the whole series, and you absolutely should. But save some space in your heart for Law and Hallie, because they are beautiful magic. ❤️

Welcome to my absolute favorite book yet in the Highlands series from author Samantha Young. THROUGH THE GLEN is romantic suspense done well, with a plot that drew me in from the very beginning and an unlikely couple that had me rooting for them from the go.

Sarah McCulloch has grown so much from the earlier books in the series, and it’s evident even from the very start of this book. She’s got a whole life that very few know about, and the fact that she can throw Mr. Theo Cavendish for a loop is one of my favorite things about their story. She has developed both self-knowledge and self-worth, thanks in large part to her beloved grandfather and cousin, and I truly appreciate that she is able to set boundaries and stick with them as her relationship with Theo progresses.

I adore Theo. Did I think he was a smarmy so and so before this book? Yes, yes I did. Did I fall absolutely in love with him during the course of this book, finding him to be one of my favorite of Samantha’s male characters ever? Again, yes.

The chemistry between Sarah and Theo is no less steamy for it being a bit of a slow burn. The evolution of them from co-creators to couple is not without trouble, but I think that this is what makes it sweeter and more satisfying to me as a reader. And seeing them come fully into themselves by the end of the book had this romance lover doing a happy dance. I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in The Highlands series, but Theo and Sarah hold a special place in my heart.

Next up in the series is Jared McCulloch’s and Allegra Howard’s book, SKIES OVER CALEDONIA, and I can hardly wait. In the meantime, make sure to get caught up with Sarah and Theo. I guarantee, you will love them. Happy Reading. ❤️

I was super-excited when Kristen Proby let readers know that she was starting a new series based in her home state of Montana. First of all, if Kristen writes it, I’m going to read it, but the fact that these books are set in a place that she loves so much and also has a bit of crossover with the Montgomerys of Seattle, well, the deal was sealed.

WILD FOR YOU, the first book in The Wilds of Montana series, is everything that I was expecting and more. I knew that I would love this new world, but I was not prepared for just how much I would love it. Heck, I was all in from the teaser, and once I started reading, I could not put it down.

I have always appreciated that Kristen writes heroines that are strong, smart, and self-confident. There’s just something about seeing a woman that is not afraid to live life on her terms. And, well, it’s no secret that the men in her books are strong, supportive, and fully focused on family, and that is sexy as all get out. Age gap romances are not always my favorite, but Kristen is, and she has written the love story between Remington Wild and Erin Montgomery in a way that is organic and natural, steamy yet sweet, and just right.

I am totally gone on the Wilds, from the siblings to their parents, to the cutest and most precocious kids ever, and I could not be happier that Kristen has decided to focus on this series and give us more books in the very near future. Whether you’ve been reading Kristen from the beginning, or are a new fan, make sure that the Wilds are on your radar. Happy Reading! ❤️

I absolutely fell in love with The Highlands series when Samantha Young released BEYOND THE THISTLES earlier this year, so I was highly anticipating seeing more of this beautiful place and the people that live there. AMONG THE HEATHER, the second book in the series, is just as beautiful, and the story just as magnetic, as the first, and I could not have enjoyed it more.

Let me just say that I LOVE the fact that North Hunter is a man that knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it, even when what, or rather who, he wants is Aria Howard, and she’s having none of it. I also love the fact that this is not an insta-love kind of story, but that Samantha actually allows the relationship between these two to develop over time, for them to make their way from enemies to lovers in a way that makes sense.

Samantha has given us the perfect blend of romance, steam, and suspense, as well as showing the emotional growth and evolution of both Aria and North in a way that had me rooting for them from early on, and celebrating with them as they overcame those things in their pasts that had kept them from being truly free for so many years. I sped through this book, for no other reason than that I could not put it down, both because of needing to know what was around the next curve and because I needed them to get to their happy. Suffice to say that I was not disappointed, and that I cannot wait to get the next book, although I kind of want to kick a certain son of a viscount in the head. 4.5 well deserved stars for AMONG THE HEATHER. Kristen Proby’s Single In Seattle series is a much-loved continuation of the With Me In Seattle series, and I remember why these characters and their stories are some of my most favorite ever with each subsequent book. Every visit is like reconnecting with much-loved family members or close friends, and I am so happy that Kristen decided to keep the family love going strong.

I knew right away that I was going to love Drew, because I have long adored his father and mother, and none of the Montgomery clan raised a kid that isn’t awesome. Drew is down to earth, honest, and loving, and just what London and Caleb need to show them the true meaning of family, acceptance, and unconditional love.

One of my favorite things about Kristen is that she writes strong women, women who are secure in who they are and who are living their lives on their terms. London is all of these things, demonstrating that it is possible to be a savvy businesswoman and a mother, that giving equal time to her family in no way keeps her from kicking but in the business world, and that her softness with Drew doesn’t mean that she cannot hold her own in the workplace. She and Drew are a true power couple in every way, and it’s really nice to see.

It never feels like enough time with these characters, so I cannot wait for the next visit to Seattle in THE SOULMATE, Liam’s and Bianca’s book. And can I just say that the glimpse that we get of her upcoming series, the Wilds of Montana, has me doing the happy dance.? There is so much goodness coming our way, and I am so excited. If by some chance you have not started this series, now is the time. Jump in, fall in love (because I know that you will!), and enjoy. ❤️

Although Louise Bay’s books have been some of my favorites since early days, I had not read any of the books in the The Doctors series. Until now, that is, because I have just fallen in complete and total love with Beau Cove and the entire Cove family, and I can’t wait for more.

DR. FAKE FIANCÉ is easily one of the most enjoyable books that I’ve had the pleasure of reading lately. Likable characters and a modern and relatable story line made for a book that I could not put down. I loved both Vivian and Beau, and the supporting cast of characters are awesome (I must admit to being a little bit in love with Beau’s dad…). This story is an absolute feel good read, which are few and far between, and so stands out as a favorite even more vividly. Can you tell that I really, really liked this book?

If you’ve read the other stories in the series, DR. FAKE FIANCÉ will be an easy and much-loved next step in the saga. For those of you like myself that have not, it will be just the read to send you back to the beginning to devour every one of the books about the Coves that you can clap your eyes on. Truly, do not miss this book. One of my favorites of 2023, and one that I cannot recommend enough. Happy reading! ❤️

TEMPT ME WITH DARKNESS is the first book in the Doomsday Brethren series by author Shayla Black. Paranormal romance is one of my favorite genres, and this world also has Arthurian legend tied in, so I was very excited to jump in and meet Marrok, Olivia, and the rest of the cast.

TEMPT ME WITH DARKNESS is a long book, and while that’s not a bad thing, you’ll want to prepare yourself to settle in for the ride. I did enjoy the storyline, although it took me a bit of time to get into it. Once things were rolling along, and the action picked up, I was invested in seeing just how things would play out for everyone involved, because the backstory was quite a kerfuffle.

When an author is stepping out into a different part of the book world than their norm, it can take some time to find the groove. I feel like this book was coming into its own by the end, and will be interested to see where Shayla takes everyone in future books. ❤️

With no exaggeration, welcome to one of the best books that I’ve read this year…SHADOWS OF YOU by author Catherine Cowles is the fourth book in her Lost & Found series, and she just continues to blow me away with her beautiful stories.

I’m not going to lie, I have a serious thing for the wounded hero, and Roan Hartley is one of my most favorites to date. This beautiful man has so much to give, and watching him evolve into the most true version of himself had me reading through tears. His love for Aspen and Katy, for his family, his town, completely did me in.

And Aspen, I want to be like her when I grow up. Strong and fierce, loving and kind, she’s exactly what Roan needs to show him how very strong he is, and how worthy of love. I can’t not mention Miss Katy, because she, like all of Catherine’s kids, are so lovable, and integral to these books. Her acceptance and love for ‘Mr. Grizz’ (her name for Roan) is one of the first things to crack his tough exterior, and start thawing out that grumpy heart.

Catherine’s books are must-reads for me, and all of them are on my list of absolute favorites. If by some chance she and her books have not been on your radar, now is the time to remedy that, because they are some of the best out there. I’m already prepared to be dazzled by ASHES OF YOU, the next book in the Lost & Found series, and Lawson Hartley’s book. In the meantime, all I can say is read SHADOWS OF YOU. It will have your heart and stay with you in the very best way. ❤️
