This was the idyllic dream I’d never imagined possible. This wasn’t small. This was where my heart had always yearned to be.

Without fail, every single time, with every single one of her books, Mia Sheridan owns another piece of my heart. She writes with such love and passion, birthing characters and their stories that touch the heart and create a world that it is impossible not to lose yourself in.

Mia drew me in completely with this story of love in its many forms. I say this after reading each of her books, but PRESTON’S HONOR is very near the top of my favorite of her works (that position still goes to KYLAND, but this one is a very close second). It is written with such love and compassion, with such an understanding of what it means to feel like an outsider, and how healing love can be.

I think that one of the reasons that Lia is so drawn to Preston and Cole is the unconditional acceptance and love that she feels from them, something lacking in the only other relationship that she has, with her mother. There is an openness to the boys, and, as two sides of the same coin, they meet the different needs for love, friendship, and companionship that Lia is thirsty for. Any separation, any smallness that she feels is of her own making, because of the distance that she feels between her station in life and theirs.

I am absolutely in love with Preston Sawyer. This man, from the time that he can remember, has seen something in Lia that he recognizes as his. His brother, Cole, is his other half, but Lia is his true north, and nothing, not time, not distance, not the fact that she may belong to his own brother, can dim the love that he has for her. And, while he is still just a man, and makes mistakes like we all do, the beauty of Preston is his willingness to learn, to open himself up again and give Lia all of himself.

Lia is just lovely. She has done whatever she’s had to do to make life better for her mother and herself, suffering the pain of living a life feeling ‘less than’ because of who and what she is. Lia thrives under the attention of the Sawyer boys because they offer her the thing that she yearns for, non-judgmental, fully accepting love. One of the things that I enjoyed most about Lia’s story, though, is seeing her emerge as a strong woman, a woman that becomes unafraid to ask for what she wants and needs, and offers the same to others.

There are those books that I pick up and enjoy reading, and those that I can’t put down. There’s just that little something different about the latter type, that certain something that draws me in and doesn’t let go. This is true of all of Mia’s books, but PRESTON’S HONOR touched my heart in a way that I will remember for a very long time, and I couldn’t recommend it more. This book is definitely one of my favorite reads of this year, and one that I would recommend to everyone. Add it to your TBR and take the time to savor it as soon as time allows. It will change you, and you will love it.

Mia Sheridan has once again stole a piece of my heart with her latest release, Preston’s Honor. With each new book, Mia brings something new to the table that is not only a passionate romance but also a compassionate insight to life, love, family, and society. As I read this novel I found that I was experiencing more than a romance, it was challenging my thoughts on human nature and showing me the other side of those thoughts. It is truly a humble reading experience.

Lia has always been an outsider all of her life. As a child of an illegal migrant worker, life has been one of poverty and constant struggle. As a daughter conceived in violence, she has been a constant reminder to her mother of the evil that stole her hopes and dreams. As a young girl looking at her small world, a farming community, every persons life seems brighter, livelier,and prosperous. As a minority nationality she has experienced the small minded views that leave her feeling like she doesn’t quite fit in or measure up to the standards of the community. Meeting the Sawyer twins irrevocably changes her life. The Sawyer twins offer her friendship, acceptance, and unconditional love. Each boy gives Lia something she desperately needs in her life. Cole Sawyer gives her the courage to have hopes and dreams. Preston Sawyer gives her unconditional love and stability. The two boys would do anything for Lia because they both love the beautiful person that she is. As they grow from childhood into young adulthood, the dynamics of their friendship change. Both boys want her heart and know that only one can claim it. How they handle the situation is something only twins, two half of a whole, could do.

As young adults, their lives are only beginning. The Sawyer boys are off to college to create their bright futures. Lia is also creating a better life for herself back at home. She’s got a decent job, a better home, and is able to take care of her mother. When the Sawyer boys return home for their father’s funeral, all of their lives change once again. The dynamics of their relationship are challenged once again.

Great tragedies take Lia and Prseton’s life on a new path. From the tragic mistakes to birth of their child, they are both an emotional mess. Not only are they struggling with heartache and loss, they are also battling their own emotional demons. Mother Nature has also added her own wrath that could not only destroy their farm but ruin their community as well. Lia and Preston’s world has imploded. Now they both have to come to terms with their world and own their realities. They have to face the grief and pain in order to move forward. How they choose to handle those emotions is what is going to make them stronger individuals and more committed to their love for one another.

Mia Sheridan has once again delivered an outstanding book.

Fans of the Stark Series and Stark International series have been waiting for Jamie and Hunter’s happily ever after. This couple has been a steadfast throughout both series. Jamie is known for her loving, quirky personality and free spirit. Hunter is the hot alpha male who dominates in the sexiest way. These two have been lead supporting characters throughout both series. So why haven’t they taken the plunge and married like their friends and colleagues. Their love for another isn’t the issue. It’s Jamie. It’s time for Hunter to draw the line and either take control or let Jamie go.

Are Jamie and Hunter going to make it to the alter? Read the book!

Writing this review has left me dumbfounded. I’m not quite sure where to start or what to say so that I don’t give away spoilers. I have attempted to draft this review several times only to hit delete. I am really struggling to find the right words to do this book and this series justice. So let me begin by talking about the series itself.

The Hell’s Bastard Series must be read in order to grasp the full intent of the story unfolding. Each book is delivered with a perfectly synchronized installment that drives this series in a new direction before reaching it’s ultimate climax. Making it unpredictable.

The Hell’s Bastard Series by Emma James is unlike anything out there. It is a dark romantic thriller that touches upon human trafficking, captivity, violence, abuse, and psychological torment. At the same time it also showcases the things that make life valuable, such as family, friendship, love, integrity, and confidence in oneself to stay true to their inner self. It’s all blended in a shroud of mystery, suspense, and danger at every turn. There is more than a warped evil villain contorting each and every move. Each installment in the Hell’s Bastard series contains one word and one word only. Pay close attention to the word title of each book. Look up the definition of each word. The title is what propels this series to the next level.

Contorted is the third book in the Hell’s Bastard series. It picks up where Warped left off. Whisper is being held captive by Cezar Pavel in a secret location. His psychological games are contorting what’s coming. While Whisper is desperately hanging onto her sanity and hope that Edge will find her, she’s slowly losing the battle. The things she thought she feared most are turning into something else, not quite as frightening. The unimaginable fears are beginning to materialize. It’s only the tip of the iceberg. What Cezar Pavel has in store for her makes her years in captivity with William Dupre look like childs play.

Cezar Pavel is biding his time and conditioning the girls for upcoming main event. He’s carefully chosen his sentinels to do his bidding. His rule is unquestionable. To question is not without consequences. He’s personally conditioned his executioner to kill without questions or remorse. He carefully hides their identities behind Venetian Carnival masks. These masks instill fear and complete obedience . No one knows his real identity or those of his sentinels.

Edge is desperately trying to find Whisper. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. In the ordinary world Cezar Pavel does not exist. In the underworld there is barely a trace of Cezar Pavel. He has completely hid his existence, he hasn’t left any crumbs to follow. The only thing that Edge can do is follow the small trail of crumbs he uncovered at the secret air hanger. It’s a waiting game where time is running out before it began. The only thing he can do is enlist the help of Boomer and his crew (Whisper’s family), call in the Soulless Bastards MC, the Lions Den MC, and Slade Malone (Ocean Beach Series). Following that one crumb turns into a meticulously synchronized rescue attempt that turns into an unpredictable and explosive cliffhanger.

As an avid reader, I am not one to shy away from dark thrillers that portray extreme violence and inhumane actions. I accept these conditions as part of the overall story. Usually at this point in a series I have an idea of what direction the series is going. I can usually loosely predict what is to come next. Contorted was a different story, what I thought was coming did not unfold. The players were as unpredictable as the plot. I was completely SHOCKED by the outcome. I cannot even imagine what could come next because I was left with so many questions as to the who’s, the why’s, and how are they all connected. I am sure Emma James has a lot in store for the readers with the last two books before Whisper can finally find her happily ever after… or should I say true beginning… true freedom. The next book is Entwined and will release in 2017. The title itself assures me that I will get some answers but will probably end up with more questions before the final book, Venerated releases.

Emma James has proven beyond a shadow of doubt how truly talented and brilliant her writing is. The vivid descriptions ( which had me Googling like crazy) and synchronized scenes told from many different POV’s made this story come to life. It was a consuming reading experience!

As an avid reader I have read many outstanding novels and become deeply involved with book series the author creates. Their world and dynamic characters are vibrantly alive. I can’t wait to see what happens next in their world. I want to get to know each character intimately. I want to know what makes them tick, what influences have made them the way they are, what secrets they are hiding, and what is in store for them in the future. I want them to find the HEA with the perfect partner.

Jay Crownover has created a world with the Marked Men series and the Saints of Denver series that has me chomping at the bits for the next book. Her characters have become my friends and family in my vivid imagination. They have stolen my heart. Within both of these series there has been one character that has captured my attention with his mysterious allure, alpha behavior, and honorable actions. That man is Dashel Church, Rome’s former special ops teammate. Church came to Denver to work at Rome’s bar as a bouncer. Once again Jay Crownover has delivered another great addition to the dynamic Denver crew. She gave Church and Dixie the perfect happily ever after they needed. He needed her sunshine and she needed his strength. They both found love and peace. They found a place to call home.

Wow… I did not see this coming! K. A. Tucker stepped up her game! She’s known for her dynamic New Adult and Romantic Suspense novels that have put her on all the best sellers lists and become a favorite among the readers. Her upcoming release He Will Be My Ruin is going to bring a new group of readers into her fold.

He Will Be My Ruin is not a romance. It is a psychological thriller that takes the reader on a twisted journey and keeps them guessing throughout the book. Each passage has the reader on the edge of their seat and surprised at what comes next. When the final revelations are played out it’s another shock. The story is unpredictable and has a very unique plot. The delivery keeps the reader captivated and glued to the pages. The characters are very well developed. The progression of their actions and involvement is meticulously choreographed throughout the story. The perfect sycronicity leads to an explosive ending.

I could easily envision this book being made into a movie.

Yours And Mine, the highly anticipated sequel to Positively Mine by Christine Duval has released. I highly recommend reading Positively Mine first.

Laurel hid her pregnancy from everyone during her freshman year of college until it got to a life or death situation. Now she has to face the realities of her life. She is a young mother trying to juggle her school schedule, her responsibilities to her child, and social life. She’s doing the best she can but she’s not quite emotionally mature enough to handle it all. She has a lot of growing up to do. The first thing she has to do is tell Danny about the baby.

Danny was shocked to learn he was a father but he’s willing to accept the responsibility that go along with fatherhood. He’s a few years older than Laurel and has been on his own for awhile. He works full time and is attending college. When Laurel falters on allowing him time with his daughter, he has to turn to the courts. The courts take their unique circumstances into account and create unique visitation schedules.

At first the schedule is working but it’s Danny who is making all the concessions. His relationship with Laurel is becoming closer but she is still a bit selfish. She only sees what she wants to see and wants to have a carefree college girl life when Danny has their child. After a while Danny just can’t handle her immaturity and once again returns to the courts to make his custodial rights more conducive to his life, school schedule, and work schedule. For the first time Laurel really has to face the realities of co parenting and compromising.

In the end Laurel will finally become a mature individual. Once she learns what is important, life will change for all three of them.

Christine Duval did a wonderful job capturing the maturity level a someone Laurel’s age. I have a daughter about the same age and a could see her being a lot like Laurel. At that age their life experience level is just beginning. They are just learning to be adults and make decisions for themselves. In most cases they are not completely independent of their families, financially or emotionally. It’s not that they are selfish, they are just self involved. They are in the learning process of making sound decisions for themselves. Sometimes they can’t see the bigger picture in the decision making process. Christine allowed Laurel to mature in a healthy, positive manner that was realistic. Like most kids, she turned out okay and found out what matters most in life.

Yours And Mine by Christine Duval was a realistic and emotional conclusion in the Freshman Forty series.

I am a little late to the game in reading Positively Mine by Christine Duval. The reason this book was brought to my attention is because I saw the blurb for Yours and Mine, the conclusion to this book that will be releasing soon.

I read Positively Mine in one sitting. I couldn’t put the book down. Not only did the author cover all the stages of pregnancy including the emotional aspects as well as the physical aspects, she added an emotional and realistic storyline. Being pregnant for the first time is scary and confusing. A woman doesn’t exactly know what to expect or how to react. The medical condition is easy to convey but the emotional side differs from woman to woman. But when you are an eighteen year old young woman not only starting your college career finding out your pregnant at the same time can be paralyzing. For Laurel it was devastating.

Laurel kept her pregnancy secret from her peers, her professors, her family, and the baby’s father. She struggled through her pregnancy as well as her academics. While her personal and academic lives are falling apart so is her family life. Her father has basically cut her out of his personal life and is remarrying. He’s starting a new family. There isn’t a place for her in his new life let alone a place for a baby.

Laurel has to figure everything out for herself. She hasn’t made the best choices but is determined to have her baby. Keeping a secret this big is destroying her.

When the truth finally comes out Laurel will have to face all the lies she’s told. She will finally be ready to become a grown up. She will be ready to become a mother.

Christine Duval did a fantastic job writing Laurel’s story. I believed every word and felt every emotion.

After reading For 100 Days by Lara Adrian I have been sitting on pins and needles waiting For 100 Nights to release. The huge cliffhanger and the erotic relationship between Avery Ross and Dominic (Nick) Blaine left me wanting more!

For 100 Nights is a sequel to For 100 Days. It is imperative to read the first book before reading For 100 Nights.

Both Avery and Nick have been hiding secrets from one another. A portion of Avery’s secrets were exposed when Nick found out the truth about her mother. That was only a small portion of the secrets she’s been hiding not only from Nick but everyone else. Someone has uncovered her secrets and is blackmailing her and threatening to harm her mother. Rather than coming clean and trusting Nick with her problems, she tries to handle them herself. The only solution is turning to Nick’s enemy for help.
