“God, you’re so f*cking beautiful.”
Her eyes widened up at him. She could only imagine how she looked. Hair messy and damp, his shirt sliding off one shoulder, eyes glazed over.
“You are.” He shook his head as if searching for the words to explain his attraction to her. “That first night, swear to everything holy, I thought you might be some mythical creature come to steal my soul. But you were so damn beautiful that I would have given it to you.”
She kept quiet, afraid to move or speak and risk breaking the magic that kept him with her, kept him from running. He wasn’t running. He was opening up and being honest.
Dean lowered himself into the bed beside her, propping on one elbow and facing her. Fate mirrored his position and admired the way the moonlight lit his handsome face.
“I asked the universe for a sign. It sent me you.”
Her whispered confession made him smile. But his expression turned serious far too soon for her liking. “I felt it the moment I saw you. A compulsion like I’d never felt before, as if some unseen force propelled me toward you without my consent. I’ve felt it ever since.”
Fate rested her head on her hands and nodded against them. “I feel it too. I’m just…a little afraid of it. Of what it might cost us.”
“My mom used to say that things worth having didn’t come easy and that the kind of girl that was worth waiting for wouldn’t wait on anyone. Those two adages keep coming back to me every time I think of you.”
She inched her hand over toward his. “Do you do that often? Think of me?”
Dean kept eye contact, only breathing and watching her. “Define often.”
Fate grinned. “More than once a week.”
The slight curve of his lips faded and his gaze became a heavy, tangible thing she could feel pressing into her.
“I thought of you every day, Fate. And I didn’t even know your name. Even after I did… I think after that, it was more like several times a day.”
She wanted to keep this moment, to keep him here with her just like this. Both of them exposed and vulnerable. It was real and honest and—despite her exhaustion— exhilarating. But she knew it wouldn’t last forever. Nothing ever did.
“Sleep with me tonight. Don’t leave. Just… Just sleep with me, please.”
He nodded, letting his fingers interlace with hers between them and placing a soft kiss on the top of her hand. “I’m not going anywhere. Goodnight, sweetheart.”

Kelley’s Review

This is a book that you pick up and can’t put down until it’s over and even then you are wishing there were just a few more pages.

Dean would have never thought in a million years that the woman he found running down the beach would memorize him for months to come.   She was absolutely stunning and almost angelic.  She wanted Dean not for who he was or for the money he had, she just wanted the man and he wanted to know more about her. Dean wondered when it was all over if it was just a dream.  He had her in his arms one moment and in the next she was gone.

Fate was so furious.  She had changed her life for Trevor.  She had molded herself into everything he could have ever wanted. She picked the wedding dress he liked, the cake he liked.  Everything was about making Trevor happy.  She even drank red wine because he insisted on ordering it for her.  She hated it.  The only thing she held onto was her virginity.  She wanted their wedding night to be special.  A night to remember.  She ever expected that the night before her wedding would be the one she would never forget.  When she found her maid of honor in the wine celler with her fiance she snapped.  She asked for a sign and then ran smack dab into Dean.  He was gorgeous and sexy and she needed to forget Trevor and do something spontaneous and crazy and so she decided a one stop roll in the sand might be what she needs.

Casiey does an excellent job brining two broken people together that were never meant to be.  Dean has watched his father go through women like tissues and is not interested in settling down anytime soon.  Fate is fighting what she feels for Dean because she saw how her mother went through men and then there was the whole Trevor thing.  Some how Casiey has them facing their demons and grabbing on to something real.

I adored this read.  I was sucked in by the pre-quel novella.  If you want a read that you can’t put down that is filled with forbidden love and smoking hot chemistry then you will love Falling For Fate.

Michel’s Review

Charles Sheehan-Miles is one of the most talented authors I have had the pleasure to read. His writing is brilliant. He delivers a book that has all the elements readers want in a book. His books are very well plotted with sub plots that merge into the master plot. These sub plots give the book more depth and add to the pacing of the book. He adds suspense, intrigue, high octane action, and emotional characters. His characters are complex people with multiple layers to their personalities. Charles adds the emotional elements that bring these characters and their stories to life. Most importantly he shows the high value of love and the importance of family.

The Rachel Peril series has been a phenomenal series from the beginning. The Thompson sisters and their families are the main characters in this series. Each sister has her own story, her own dilemmas and life issues. The sisters are brought together through baby Rachel, who’s health is failing. What starts as finding a marrow donor for baby Rachel turns into a life threatening situation for all the Thompson sisters. Someone is out to destroy the Thompson family and end their lives. As the danger escalates and each sister escapes death by the skin of their teeth, the mystery seems to get deeper and deeper. Who would want to kill them?

As the story unfolds, deep hidden family secrets will surface. As the secrets begin to unravel the element of danger escalates. Multiple villains will get into the action. There will be several players after this family for very different reasons that stem from one hideous moment in Richard Thompson’s career.

The Rachel’s Peril series has many key players that are centered around Richard Thompson’s earlier career in the CIA. There will be several government agencies investigating the Thompson family. The will be several government agencies, national and international that will be trying to protect their secrets. Richard Thompson will do anything to protect his career and secrets, even at the cost of his own family.

This series kept me engaged. Between the suspense and intrigue, my mind was spinning. As the Thompson family secrets are revealed, my heart was breaking. Each time the Thompson women fought back, I was celebrating their strength. My heart broke for these women as the sins of the past finally come to the surface. But what impressed me the most about this series is the dedication, love, and strength the Thompson sisters possessed. Family meant everything and they leaned on each other to survive.

I highly recommend the Rachel’s Peril series. It will not disappoint.

Life is about to change for Robert ‘Bubba’ Lawson in a very big way. The success he’s long dreamed of is on the horizon, and there is no one he’d rather share it with than Marisol Medina. Marisol, Bubba’s manager, is a real pepper pot, a go-getter with a feisty attitude and the drive to help Bubba break into the country music scene. She also happens to drive him wild, and the feeling is very mutual.

 

I cannot even put into words the love that I feel for Robert ‘Bubba’ Lawson. Jessie Evans has written a sweet and sexy cowboy that, if possible, is even hotter than all of her previous men, and that’s saying quite a lot! I mean, swoon city. Not only is Bubba an awesome friend, as he showed us in ‘Leather and Lace’ (Lonesome Point Book 1), he is also a genuinely nice guy. Did I mention that he’s panty-meltingly hot? And talented? And smart? And quite possibly the most fabulous boyfriend ever?

 

I picked up this book and, as with all of Jessie’s books, could NOT put it down. Once I really met Bubba, there was nothing to do but hang on for the ride as he swept Marisol off her feet and broke down every wall that she tried to put up. He is not afraid to lay everything out there, and to make Marisol’s not-so-vanilla fantasies a reality. For real, where can I get my own Bubba? I’m afraid that Jessie may have spoiled me for other book boyfriends…I obviously cannot say enough about how much I loved Saddles and Sins, and I absolutely cannot wait for Tulsi’s and Pike’s story in Diamonds and Dust.

A modern-day fairy tale.

 

“Only uneducated people believed in magic and superstition.” was librarian Celinda Branham’s philosophy. When she receives a glass slipper at a co-worker’s Christmas gift exchange, in provokes her curiosity though. No matter, she was not going to hold her breath for Prince Charming to waltz right into her life.

Preston Chandler is guilt-ridden, certain it is a witch’s curse that has his sister in a coma & he’s to blame. As she lay unwaking in a hospital been from “unknown causes”, he’s charged with finding a pair of glass slippers & solving twisted little riddles before her 21st birthday. He’d already located & now possesses one slipper, but the other is in America and time is running out.  Preston jets off from London, England to Jacksonville, Florida to follow a lead on the second slipper.

 

Whimsical, yet bizarre. That is the best way to summarize this story.

Preston acted with arrogance and impatience towards his employees and was heartless towards a young witch friend that he grew up with. In a moment of deep hurt and wounded pride, she lashed out to hurt him and put a sleeping spell on his sister. He needed to solve the nonsensical riddles the witch had left for him so he can wake his little sister again. Meanwhile, Celinda was wary of Preston, despite the electric draw she felt towards him. He’s talking like a lunatic about magic as if fairy tales are real. But if he’s as crazy as she suspected, why did she feel compelled to help him?

 

The main characters and plot are well-enough written, but fantastical, which I know is intentional… Celinda is meant to be the embodiment of Cinderella while Preston Chandler – P.C. is Prince Charming and his comatose sister is Sleeping Beauty and even a Fairy Godmother… There’s enchanted glass slippers, a wicked step-mother, a spoiled & bratty step-sister and an incensed witch. The only thing missing was GusGus! The supporting characters covered a colorful spectrum. The plot was clever & sprinkled with wit. The conflict was ever-present and grew more complicated as the story evolved, but it had a predictable ending. It was very “PG-13”. There is one IMPLIED sex scene, but no details are exposed. No heat. That’s not to say that they did not have chemistry. It just seemed that neither knew what to do with said chemistry.

Adrenalin. I continually experienced anxiety and a racing heartbeat while reading Monster in His Eyes. There is more intensity packed within the pages of this novel than with any other novel read in recent memory. It became impossible for me to put this novel down, especially as I began to develop theories and as details of the plot were peeled back. As I write this review, I continue to feel the after effects of reading this story. Fans of the novels Sempre and Sempre: Redemption won’t want to miss reading the newest novel written by JM Darhower. Monster in His Eyes is not a young adult novel. It is a romantic suspense novel with dark themes, and it very much delves into the genre of erotic romance.

Karissa Reed is an eighteen year-old college student. Raised by a mother plagued by extreme paranoia, she was constantly moved from town to town during her childhood and teen years. She seems to be a typical college student who enjoys having fun, but also struggles to maintain her scholarship at NYU. The problem is that her philosophy professor, Daniel Santino, seems to have it out for her. She becomes so flustered with his blatant open disregard for her, that she accidentally leaves her phone in his classroom. When she returns to the class to claim her phone, she draws the attention of the dark and alluring Ignazio Vitale who is paying a visit to her professor. In fact, twice on that same day, she runs into Naz. From the beginning, thirty-six year-old Naz wastes no time inserting himself into Karissa’s life.

I am not going to lie. I was completely creeped out after reading the prologue and first couple of chapters of Monster in His Eyes. Darhower wasted no time in setting the tone of suspense and drama in this story. Karissa is young and naïve, half of his age. Her father disappeared from the picture before she was even born, and her mother takes overprotective to a whole new level (which were both red flags, in my opinion). Naz is a hurricane force she is unable to resist – he pulls Karissa into a sexy, powerful and intense physical relationship. She mentions the term “wrecking ball” in her inner dialogue to describe Naz. He has a darkness to him that actually causes me to fear for her safety.

I loved this novel! I completely bonded with these characters – it is probably the reason why this novel frightened me so much. I have no idea how I am going to be able to wait for the second and final novel of this duology, Torture in Her Soul, which is planned for release later this year. I applaud the author for her creative ability and planning in writing this suspenseful, mysterious story. I want to express my appreciation to JM Darhower for the opportunity to review an advanced reader copy of this novel. I am so excited to give Monster in His Eyes the 5-star rating that it truly deserves!

Tracey’s Review

Tegan Callahan is doing her best to come back from a year of heartbreak, a year of losing herself. Ryland James is ready to put his past behind him, to make a life that is permanent and real. Neither one would guess that a chance meeting in Las Vegas would bring them both everything that they’re looking for.

 

Melody Grace has a gift for writing characters that are complicated, that have pasts that are not perfect nor pretty. She is also gifted at crafting a story that shows the strength that is born out of such pain, and bringing imperfect people together to create a perfect whole. Her Beachwood Bay series has become one of my absolute favorites ever. The characters feel like old friends, and the sense of community draws me more deeply in each time I read about this lovely little town in coastal North Carolina. UNSTOPPABLE is the fifth book in this series, and is Tegan’s and Ryland’s story. I fell in love with Ryland from the moment he approached Tegan. He knows exactly what he wants, and he takes it, and Tegan, for all of her brokenness, gives back as good as she gets. Two people that have dealt with loss and pain, they smooth away the rough edges in each other, and allow real healing and growth to occur.

 

I feel like each installment in this series just gets better, and UNSTOPPABLE is no exception. I was hooked from the opening scene, and could not put it down. Watching the relationship between Tegan and Ryland unfold was both heartbreaking and uplifting, as well as, oh, my goodness, sexy as all getout. The heat between the two

of them is absolutely palpable, and had me fanning myself more than once. And getting to revisit and learn more about Brit, Hunter, Blake, and Zoey made the story even more real and rich. As with the rest of the Beachwood Bay books, I cannot recommend UNSTOPPABLE enough, and cannot wait to read UNWRITTEN, Zoey’s and Blake’s story.

Blue Shoes Volume 3 is the conclusion to the Blue Shoes serial that is part of the Morris Music series.

The readers were left with a cliffhanger in the last book. After the fiasco in Rome and the events that took place before Dylan disappeared things are very sketchy. It appears the couple has broken up. The destruction done to their relationship is beyond repair.

Jess has always been a fighter. She was determined to get to find out who is behind the destruction of Dylan’s career and the destruction of their relationship.

Dylan has been in hiding. His reason’s are different than what we expected. He is questioning his relationship with Jess. He is questioning himself. He is questioning their interactions together. He doesn’t seem to be overly concerned with his music career spiraling out of control.

When Jess and Dylan finally get together and figure out their next moves, the readers will be in for quite a surprise. Is the end of their engagement final. Is the wedding cancelled? Is their relationship beyond repair? Together they will make some discoveries about themselves and their relationship. They will also discover the culprit behind all the destruction.

It will be up to them on how they move forward.

JJ Knight wrote an entertaining series that had reader’s hooked from the very first page. She created some interesting characters and put them in very different types of circumstances. She added a heated romance, some mysterious villains, and carefully plotted a story with many highs and lows that lead to a perfect ending.

The Blue Shoes serial is fantastic. I highly recommend this series.

Bad things are happening in Dunville, NY. Children are disappearing, leaving the townfolk fearful and on edge. Sheriff Liam McLellan is at wit’s end, and quickly losing credibility, the longer he is unable to crack the case. The last thing he needs is to deal with a stranger in town, especially when everyone is suspicious already. Barbara Yager is obviously not a local. With her exotic looks and accent, an ever-changing Airstream camper, and a dog that looks more like a small bear, she’s sure to stir things up. Liam’s just not sure that he’s ready for all that that means.

 

Now, I don’t know about anyone else, but, for me, the idea of Baba Yaga conjures up images of a scary old crone, who wasn’t particularly fond of children. Deborah Blake, however, has taken the Baba Yaga mythology and run with it. WICKEDLY DANGEROUS is a well-written and engaging take on the folklore associated with the Russian witch. While there are definitely romantic aspects to the story, it really is more of a paranormal mystery, with epic characters (Day, Sun, and Knight are wonderful, and Chudo-Yudo steals scenes left and right) and a fast-paced plot that kept me turning the pages. It was impossible not to fall for Liam, broken and humble guy that he is, and to really root for Baba to give in to her human characteristics, as she experienced feelings that she’d never known before. I’m glad to say that WICKEDLY DANGEROUS is the first in a new series, and I can’t wait to see what Deborah Blake has in store for her readers.

Beautiful Bride is the next novella in the Reed Brothers series by Tammy Falkner.  It is the other side of the last novella, Only One, that was released in August.  This is from the Reed family POV.

Pete and Reagan gave up their wedding so that Carrie’s parents could get remarried before Carrie’s mother passed away from Cancer.  Pete and Reagan, as well as the Reed family embraced their new neighbors and helped make their lives happier.

Pete and Reagan are going to do an impromptu wedding before they leave the beach.  They want to do it before Sam has to leave to go back to school.  When Reagan starts acting a little off , Pete begins to worry.  He’s afraid she may be having second thoughts or that she may not want a family like he does.

This is another entertaining and powerful novella.  Not only do we get an emotional moment in Pete and Reagan’s life, we also get snippets of the lives of the other Reed Brothers families and friends.

The Reed family is amazing.  The love, support, compassion, and unification this family has is incredible.  Each of the characters have very real personalities and very real flaws.  They love fiercely and show it in many ways.  They are dedicated to their family and friends.

I loved this novella.  I will say that it left on a very disturbing cliffhanger concerning Sam.

Zip, Zero, Zilch is Sam’s upcoming book . It will be released in December.
