Aleatha Romig has proven time and again that she can craft romantic suspense like nobody’s business. SPARK, the first book in her Web of Desire trilogy, is another example of this type of book done right, and it was fantastic from start to finish.

An offshoot of the Sparrow Webs series, this trilogy focuses on Patrick Kelly and Madeline Miller. Without giving too much away, suffice to say that these two have one heck of a past, one that Madeline has done her best to put behind her by reinventing herself. Both she and Patrick are completely different people now, both with secrets that they’re keeping from each other and those close to them.

And, darn it, but what a jaw-dropping cliffhanger Aleatha gave us, revealing both everything and nothing. Like the queen that she is, Aleatha dropped that mic and walked offstage, leaving me wondering how in the world I’m going to make it until FLAME (Book 2) releases and gives up some of the answers. Fans of romantic suspense will eat this book up, and deservedly so. If a fast-paced read with a mafia vibe are your thing, make sure to add it to your TBR, and enjoy. ❤️

I don’t think that Lani Lynn Vale can write a book that doesn’t leave me smiling and happy that I’ve spent time in Kilgore, TX. JUST KIDDING, the first book in her SWAT Generation 2.0 series, is a zany, sexy, feel-good time, and just what I needed to kick off my year in reading.

The thing that I love most about Lani’s books is her characters. They are just so unique, so irreverent, so take-no-prisoners that I can’t not adore them. Rowen Roberts may seem like she’s getting the short end of the deal here, but she’s a canny little thing, and more than able to hold her own with everyone from her nemesis Shondra to the fine folk of Kilgore to Mr. January himself, Mr. Dax Tremaine.

There are some moments of intrigue, good cross-over from previous LLV books, and, most importantly, a story that won my heart so completely that I can’t wait for the next book. All of Lani’s many fans know this already, but if you like your romance with plenty of sass, some laugh-out-loud moments, and just overall good times, this book is for you. Go on, grab it now, and thank me later. ❤️

This dynamic series has a colorful, charismatic, and memorable cast of characters that come together to form an exciting, thrilling, action packed adventure. Next up on the Jameson roster is the Saint, a former thief known for his unstoppable skills until he was finally caught. Now he’s working on the right side of the law applying his expert skills to stop a theft ring eluding the law. He has to infiltrate the ring and come face to face with the woman he once loved and was willing to give up his elicit career for. Rather than embracing his love she had him arrested.

Michel’s Review

Renegade by Chantal Fernando is the second book in Knights of Fury MC series. Although this is a biker series, it has more of a milder tone rather than the darker themed activities that are in most MC books.  Renegade is more of a charming boy next door romance with a little of drama and suspense added in to make the story a bit more intriguing.

Izzy has lived next door to the Knights of Fury MC and has never had any issues with them. When her sister goes into labor, she is in a rush to get to her. Her car breaks down and her neighbors, The Knights step in. They rescue her and take her to her sister so she doesn’t miss the birth of her niece. Thus begins the courtship of Izzy and Renny.

This charming romance had the right amount steam and the right amount of swoon. It may not be the most intense romance or thrilling MC romance but it did leave me with a big smile and happy heart.

Chantal Fernando always delivers a romance that warms the soul.

Michel’s Review

Two Thousand Lines is the first book I have read by author Michelle Jester. This edgy YA novel touches upon topics of abuse and may have emotional triggers. The title of the book is taken from the punishments Olivia received from an early age. Mr. Melvin, her abusive stepfather, did everything in two thousands.

The storyline flashes back from the past to the present. Readers witness the disturbing abuse Olivia has to endure throughout her youth while trying to overcome the past in the present.

Olivia meets her neighbor’s grandson Luke after her death. Luke has heard all about Olivia through letters from his grandmother. Although he felt like he knew a lot about Olivia there was so much more that the words in the letters could describe. He wants to get to know her better and build a friendship but knows Olivia still needs time to heal from her past.

The author paints a vivid picture of Olivia’s life and has the reader wanting Olivia to overcome her past and grasp a happy life. This is Olivia’s story of survival and the courage to move on.

At times the story was a bit confusing and the pacing was a bit off but overall I was thoroughly involved with this gripping, heartbreaking story.

Michel’s Review
The Imperfect Guy is the first book I have read by Leddy Harper. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed her writing.  She created an endearing romance in today’s fast paced modern world that is ruled by social media and digital influences. She showed how beneath the public images are real human beings with real insecurities and real emotions. I loved how she illustrated that men have body image insecurities as well.

Although this book starts a bit on the slower side and has a slow build, it still demands the reader’s complete attention. The reader gets to know the characters as well as get a thorough understanding of their world.  Once the story picked up pace it became a smoldering romance that demanded a happily ever after. Maddy and Finn will steal your heart!

I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a nice, light hearted , but with an edgy contemporary vibe.

Lip Smacker is the first book I have read by Alison G. Bailey. I found this book utterly delightful with the perfect mixture of southern charm and sizzling hot romance. This book had all the “feel good” moments as well as an emotional story.

Elipheleta ( Lip ) Smacker and her grandmother Wavy co-own a bakery specializing in  cupcakes in the Charleston business district. Their bakery has been struggling and could use a boost in business. They need to revamp the decor and get new customers in the door.  All the other small business owners on the block have sold out to the developer building an upscale hotel.  When they send a representative, Logan Heath, known as the “The Closer”, to try to negotiate the fun begins.

Logan and Lip went to the same high school and she had a secret crush on him. Not that they are both adults they are finding their attraction is very different from casual dating. As they get to know each other they are doing more than negotiating for prime property. They are negotiating for their hearts. Their romance is as delicious as the cupcakes in the bakery!

I thoroughly enjoyed Lip Smacker by Alison G. Bailey. It was a charming romance that has the right amount of angst and red hot romance.

Beauty and the Badge by Ella Fox is the first book in the new Charlotte’s Cove Series.

This charming small-town romance captured my complete attention. All of the characters came to life on the pages. This made the reader feel like they were home with friends and family.

Ashley and Tyler had an instant attraction that went beyond lust. Their relationship was built upon small town values, honest emotions, and pure red hot chemistry. Together they were the perfect couple and warmed my heart.

Ella Fox added a bit of suspense, heart warming romance, and small town charm that made this book a winner. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Charlotte’s Cove.

I highly recommend this charming book!

Okay, so I’m all in…I know that if the first book in the new Legend Trilogy by author Meghan March has me feeling this kind of way that it’s on. Three books? You bet. I’m there for the whole ride, y’all. Because, once again, the lovely and talented Ms. March has created a whole new world (is that singing that I hear…?) with a whole new set of characters to get to know and love. And love them, I do.

Meghan does a bang-up job of setting the mood for the trilogy with this first book, showing us what makes these characters tick and why. I am truly excited to see what’s ahead for Scarlett and Gabriel, and I know that Meghan will deliver like nobody’s business. An easy 4 stars, THE FALL OF LEGEND should be high atop your book pile, friends. Go forth and devour… ❤️

Beauty and the Badge by Ella Fox is the first book in the new Charlotte’s Cove Series.

This charming small-town romance captured my complete attention. All of the characters came to life on the pages. This made the reader feel like they were home with friends and family.

Ashley and Tyler had an instant attraction that went beyond lust. Their relationship was built upon small town values, honest emotions, and pure red hot chemistry. Together they were the perfect couple and warmed my heart.

Ella Fox added a bit of suspense, heart warming romance, and small town charm that made this book a winner. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Charlotte’s Cove.

I highly recommend this charming book!
