An epic tale of revenge and love in a new romantic trilogy from the New York Times best-selling author of The Beauty Series.
Bleu MacAllister is in hiding less than three months when Sinclair Breckenridge discovers her whereabouts. Her former lover, the future leader of a criminal organization known as The Fellowship, resists the tug of his heart heartstrings in her direction. Instead, he opts to watch over his beloved from afar. And she has no idea. But Sin’s sacrifice is short-lived. His bonny lass is a hunted traitor. He fears Abram’s assassins are closing in, leaving him with one solution for saving Bleu–make her his wife. Marriage seems an easy fix for their dilemma but wedded bliss is brief when the couple finds trouble lying in wait beyond the realm of the brotherhood. Will the original revenge seeker find herself the object of collateral damage?
I’m in the background of Bleu’s life, as I have been for weeks. I have eyes on her at all times, even when they’re not my own. I safeguard her from harm. It’s all I’ve done since tracking my lass down in a small town in Mississippi, right outside of Memphis. I act as her protector from afar and she has no idea. She believes she’s hidden from The Fellowship—and me—but she couldn’t be more wrong. I’m always here, keeping a watchful eye on her and the MacAllister family.
I often need to be reminded that this is Bleu’s world. Every person she has contact with isn’t a threat but there’s an enormous problem with that. I have no idea who’s friend or foe.
I was concerned when Bleu disappeared at the bar with a man earlier tonight. I was on the verge of barging into the back until my lass came out on stage to perform with the band. I don’t think I’ve ever been so surprised in all my life. I knew she played but I never pegged her for a public performer. That doesn’t seem like my Bonny at all.
But I guess I don’t really know the real Bleu MacAllister. I only know the woman she pretended to be.
Michel’s Review
The Next Sin is the second book in the sensational Sin Trilogy by Georgia Cates. This trilogy is one of those enthralling kinds of story. The moment I opened the book I was immersed in Sin and Bleu’s world. Their passion for one another is more important than their transgressions. Their dedication and love for one another is unbreakable. Can they survive the world that Sin was born into and the world Bleu wants to destroy?
The Next Sin opens a few months after Bleu’s abrupt departure from Scotland. Sin has come to take her back. A hit has been placed on Bleu’s head from one of the high ranking members of the Fellowship. Sin has brought Bleu into the Fellowship, he has pledged his protection, and claimed her as his. This should of kept the Fellowship away from her. But some of the Fellowship members see her as a threat. The view her relationship with Sin as a betrayal. Sin vows he will protect her at all costs. His solution is marriage. No member of the Fellowship can touch another members family. It is the ultimate sin.
As Bleu and Sin start their new lives as a married couple, it stirs up a hornets nest. While they are trying to start a family, Sin’s family members are plotting to destroy them. Sin will have to step up and take his place as the second in command of the Fellowship. He will have to exert his power. He will have to put some of the higher ranking members of the Fellowship in their place. He will have to prove his leadership to the Fellowship as well as to his enemies.
Friends and foe are pissed. They want revenge. They want to destroy Sin. They want Bleu dead.
The only thing Sin and Bleu want are the life they are building together. They want to have babies and build a happy home.
Bleu still wants vengeance for her mother’s murder. What she thought was the ultimate truth as to who did it has now become very blurred. The one suspect has turned into many suspects. As she starts investigating the hidden secrets and potential suspects, Sin’s place in the Fellowship is being tested. It is becoming a threat to her and Sin’s future dreams. It has become a threat to the babies they desperately want to have. Can she let go of this vengeance and move forward in her life with Sin.
When Sin and Bleu finally are realizing their dreams, their world comes crashing down. They are facing total destruction of their world. The could very well lose each other. They could very well lose their lives.
That destruction knocks on the door with the wrath of the devil. What happens next….CLIFFHANGER!
I am so caught up in this story. I love the characters. Sin is one of the sexiest Scotsmen I have read. What makes him so sexy is his dedication to Bleu, his acceptance of her vengeance against the Fellowship, and his unconditional love for her. This man is swoon worthy. I love Bleu as well. She is a smart woman and loves Sin with all her heart. She is willing to reason and accept the fact that her perception of what happened to her mother might be different than she thought. She is willing to work with that. She is willing to put it aside so that she and Sin can start their family. She wants to have her babies and spend a lifetime with Sin. She will have his back, cherish his love, and give it back to him tenfold.
Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every
decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With
years spent studying The Fellowship, an organized crime brotherhood of liars,
thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut
Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. But walking hand in hand with retribution
means risking collateral damage, in the form of Breckenridge’s son
Sinclair—until Sin becomes so much more than Bleu bargained for. She’s always
known this undertaking would place her life in danger—she never imagined her
heart would be as well.
Wow… what a great start to an exciting new series, The Sin Trilogy by Georgia Cates.
I was captivated the moment I opened this book. It starts out on a high level of suspense. The reader gets to witness a horrific murder that will mold and shape one woman’s life. She will become a weapon. She will destroy her enemy. She will strike unexpectedly. Her enemy won’t know what hit him until his very last breath. She is a chameleon. She is vengeance.
Bleu McAllister has trained for twenty years to execute the man that killed her mother. She has studied her enemy. She has studied the organized crime brotherhood known as the Fellowship. She knows their key players, their enemies, and their weaknesses. She also knows their lethal legacy, their strengths, and their allies. She is ready to make her move.
Bleu moves to Scotland to carry out her vengence. The only way she can get to the man that murdered her mother is through his son. She studied her foe and came prepared to seduce this man and strike quickly. What she didn’t count on was who this man really was and how he would affect her.
What starts out as a carefully planned seduction of Sin Breckenridge ends up turning the tables on her. Sin’s sexy persona, the person beneath the facade has captured her heart. He is in no way a good man but he is not a bad man either. The man behind the image has a heart of gold, a beautiful soul, and compassion. How can she hurt a man that makes her heart beat?
As Bleu falls in love with Sin, her perspective will change. She is contemplating giving up her need for vengeance in the name of love. She is willing to accept Sin’s place in the Fellowship. She is willing to accept a life within the Fellowship. She is embracing everything she has hated in the name of love.
When she finally choses love the Fellowship finds out her secrets. Her life is on the line. She will have to make choices no woman in love should make. What happens next is …CLIFFHANGER!

Verum , the second book in the Nocte Trilogy, by Courtney Cole released this week. The moment it went live I had to download it and begin reading it. Nocte, the first book in this trilogy, left readers with so many questions. It left our mind boggled. It left the reader with residual emotions that could not be put into perspective. The desperate anxious feelings have been festering.
The teasers that were put out before the release of Verum had readers theorizing and speculating where the this book would lead. The more readers formulated theories, the more confused I became. Each theory I read seemed credible and valid. They made sense. But… here is the thing… one part or two parts of a story are not a whole. They are building blocks that lead to the eventual outcome. It is a journey that takes many twists and turns. It was meant to engage the readers imagination, stimulate their sense of reasoning, test their patience, and induce every emotional response intended.
Verum takes a completely different direction from the previous book. The setting has changed. The circumstances revolving around the characters have morphed into something more complex. The potential danger and conflict has changed. New characters are introduced. There is a deeper and darker sense of despair. The twists and turns throughout the story have the reader’s mind whirling. Although the overall sense of the story has changed, the original plot is still driving this story. Each time the reader feels they have formulated pieces of the puzzle, the story shakes it up and the pieces fall into a new pattern. In the end, there is a huge revelation that makes this story make sense. This huge revelation is a relief. It also raises more questions.
Verum consumed me. It was a reading experience that left me drained (in a good way). Courtney Cole did an outstanding job with this book. She took the reader hostage, tortured their senses, engaged their minds, and led them on a very gothic journey. She meticulously chose each word to convey this story. Each passage was methodically placed to keep the reader on their toes and searching for clues. The writing was brilliant!
I am look forward to the final book in the Nocte Trilogy. I think the outcome is going to shock the reader to the core. I’m ready!
Robin’s Review
If you have already read Nocte by Courtney Cole, you know exactly what to expect with Verum. Unforeseen plot twists. Clues. Phrases and pieces of sentences which will have you scratching your head. Sentences consisting of nonsensical gibberish. Dreams? Visions? Hallucinations? Or truth?
The Nocte Trilogy is a literary jigsaw puzzle. It’s an intriguing mystery that will challenge your intelligence. Courtney Cole wants you to be confused. And if you are? She has succeeded with what she set out to do. In my case, Cole was successful. After I had finished reading Verum, everything I previously understood about Calla and Dare had been altered. I honestly have no idea what to think! One thing is for certain, I am desperate for the final novel of this trilogy! I cannot wait until the puzzle pieces finally fit together! Lux is expected to be released later in 2015. Courtney Cole has most definitely earned 5 stars and a place on my list of 2015 favorites with Verum!

A hot new Desert Dogs novel from the author of Lay It Down
Keep your friends close—and your enemies closer….
Bar owner Raina Harper can’t say for sure what Duncan Welch is to her. With her small Nevada town under siege by a ruthless casino development and still reeling from a spate of murders, she knows that trusting the public face of the corporate invaders is risky to say the least. Though, damn, it’s one fine-looking face.…
Duncan may be a mercenary when it comes to getting the job done, but he’s no villain. In fact, the calculating fixer soon finds himself in the bad guys’ crosshairs, framed and facing professional ruin. To clear his name, he’ll need help from Raina and her roughneck motorcycle club, the Desert Dogs. Gaining their trust won’t be easy, and the molten sexual tension between Raina and Duncan only makes things more complicated—especially since Miah Church, Raina’s friend and ex-lover, would sooner strangle Duncan than shake his hand.
One thing’s certain, though: If they don’t deal with their incendiary attraction soon, the whole damn town might go up in flames.…
Are you looking for a book that has strong characters, great dialogue, a plot that is well executed, snarky banter, and tons of action ? Look no more…. Give It All by Cara McKenna has all this and more. I could not put the book down.
Cara McKenna took a character that most readers hated in the first book and had him capturing the reader’s interest within the first part of the book. She made us fall in love with this jerk.
Raina Harper is a tough bar owner in a small town in Nevada that is being taken over by casino development. She’s tough as nails and can handle her clientele, The Desert Dogs MC. When the investigation of the missing bones takes on twists and turns, it brings Duncan Welsh into the spotlight. He is the kind of man Raina hates to love. He is quirky, has a touch of OCD, has anxiety issues, and is a powerful attorney. He is one hot mess. The exact kind of hot mess that Raina can’t help but want to clean up.
Duncan Welch, the rich corporate lawyer finds himself a target after he pushes the bad guys buttons. He has been framed and is facing ruin. The only way to clear his name is to engage the help of the motorcycle club, The Desert Dogs. He will have to earn their trust and earn their assistance. The sexual tension and mutual attraction between him and Raina only makes matters worse. Miah Church is Raina’s best friend, ex lover, and self proclaimed protector. He would rather kill Duncan than help him.
Raina and Duncan could not be more different than night and day. Opposites do attract. These two bring out the very best and worst in each other. They also give each other the support and strength the other needs. They grow as individuals and they grow as a couple.
As the story unfolds, the suspense builds, and the town is on an explosive path. Raina and Duncan’s passion is heating up more than the town’s eminent demise. Sparks are flying everywhere and everyone is getting burned. Raina and Duncan’s passion is going to explode.
There is so much more to this ongoing story. Each book unravels another piece of the overall plot. I would highly recommend reading Lay It Down by Cara McKenna, book one in this series. I can’t wait for the next book.

But Alexa is not the only casualty of Alistair Holland’s poor choices, and when she meets Caine Carraway, who has suffered his own loss at the hands of Alexa’s family, she is determined to make amends. Only Caine is not in the business of forgetting, or forgiving.
I love a book with a hot alpha man. And if the main female character is strong and self-sufficient, even better. I was hooked from the first page of HERO, because Samantha Young has written a story with stong characters, an intriguing plot, and lots and lots of hot and sexy scenes. Alexa is more than a product of her past. She’s been dealt a crummy hand, and has risen above it to make a life for herself that is a far cry from the shame of her childhood. She is smart and successful in her own right, and not afraid to speak her mind, which I love to see, because it makes for a much more interesting story. When Caine realizes who Alexa is, he is determined to exact revenge for his own suffering. But Alexa, being the strong woman that she is, refuses to make it easy for him, intent on helping him whether he wants it or not. With such strong main characters, the chemistry between the two of them was bound to be combustible, and Samantha does not disappoint. The spark between Alexa and Caine is immediate, undeniable, and white-hot. I could not put this book down because I was so invested in seeing how their relationship would play out.
The addition of extremely likable and entertaining supporting characters like Rachel, Effie, and Henry make this read even more enjoyable. As HERO is my first experience with Samantha’s books, I look forward to reading her others, and give this one five hot stars.

Ciera Nelson wants what any other outcast wants, invisibility. If she can just make it through the rest of her year with minor incidents and a head held low she will be able to put the hell hole they call school in her rearview. Unfortunately, life has different plans for her.
Topher Carlson is one of the biggest jocks on campus. All the guys want to be him, all the girls want to claim him. When secrets are uncovered, Topher’s life spins wildly out of control.
They are far from friends when the school year begins, but each will impact the other’s life in ways they never dreamed possible. Can Ciera help Topher realize that popularity and status mean nothing in the real world? Can Topher help Ciera learn the true meaning of living?
Sometimes you have to let go to really live. Sometimes being alive means taking risks.
Learning to Live is the first book in the Infinite Love series.
Format: Defined, Alternating POV. High School Drama.
From the outside, Topher looked like he had it all – looks, the hot girlfriend, athletic ability, popularity and money. But what he really didn’t have was happiness. Now to add to his shitstorm of a life, his dad presents to him an mind-blowing surprise, causing a slow, downward spiral.
Ciera tried to remain as invisible as possible. After all, she did not own a single piece of new clothes, did not wear jewelry or makeup, and didn’t even own a cell phone. She’s not even slept in a bed of her own in longer than she can say. Still, she was content with life – when the “A-team” weren’t busy bullying her.
The characters are refreshingly diverse and complex, well-written in a very realistic teen manner. Well done. The plot epitomizes the drama of high school life and differences in social class and rank. Then, an early life-altering bombshell is dropped – rather early on – which, in turn, ratchets up the emotional intensity even more! The flow is supremely fluid and enjoyable. Throughout the story, there are conflicts that arise, but they are all minor compared to the bigger picture. My emotions feel like they’ve experienced a full-on demolition derby without any safety modifications or gear, it was way more than a standard roller coaster ride. The conclusion was handled excellently with a wonderful epilogue. I hope to have the opportunity to read the next book in this series.

rom two bestselling authors—the first in a deliciously bold new series that takes readers to the most dangerous edge of desire . . .
Nikolai: I have been a contract killer since I was a boy. For years I savored the fear caused by my name, the trembling at the sight of my tattoos. The stars on my knees, the marks on my fingers, the dagger in my neck, all spoke of danger. If you saw my eyes, it was the last vision you’d have. I have ever been the hunter, never the prey. With her, I am the mark and I am ready to lie down and let her capture me. Opening my small, scarred heart to her brings out my enemies. I will carry out one last hit, but if they hurt her, I will bring the world down around their ears.
Daisy: I’ve been sheltered from the outside world all my life. Home-schooled and farm-raised, I’m so naive that my best friend calls me Pollyanna. I like to believe the best about people. Nikolai is part of this new life, and he’s terrifying to me. Not because his eyes are cold or my friend warns me away from him, but because he’s the only man who has ever seen the real me beneath the awkwardness. With him, my heart is at risk . . . and also, my life.
Last Hit is the first book in the phenomenal Hitman Series by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick. This book was originally self published and has now become part of the Penguin Publishing . It has an updated cover and is available in paperback. Readers will be able to go into their favorite book store and see this book sitting upon it’s shelves.
I originally read this book when it first released over a year ago. I was mesmerized by the characters and their story. I could not forget them. When I was given the opportunity to reread and review this book I jumped on it.
Daisy has lived a very sheltered life. Her father has let his fears take over their lives. After her mother was killed by a violent crime her father went off the deep end. He became fearful of society and paranoid about everything outside of his home. He now suffers from agoraphobia. He has kept Daisy locked inside the four walls of their home. The only time she is allowed to leave is to shop for food and take care of matters outside the home. Her time away from home is regulated and censored. Daisy has patiently scrimped, saved, and plotted her escape. The day has come and she is running away to attend college and make a life for herself. She is naive, innocent, frightened, and brave.
Nikolai has been a contract killer since he was a boy. He started with the Russian mafia and is now an independent contractor. He is cold, emotionless, calculated, and untouchable. He’s ready to leave the world he knows behind but he has to complete his last job. It is will be his Last Hit. In preparation for this last hit, he holes up in an unassuming apartment where he can remain anonymous. He can get the job done and disappear. That is his goal until he discovers the beauty in the apartment building across from him. As he watches this beauty from his window, day in and day out, he becomes mesmerized by her beauty, simplicity, innocence, and resilience. He can clearly see that she has many things in common with his lonely existence.
When Nick and Daisy finally meet face to face they are drawn together. They are learning to live and love. Can they find a true happiness together ? Both want it desperately but first Nick will have to complete the Last Hit.
Once the job is completed he plans to live his life with Daisy. But the job does not want to let him go. His past comes knocking on their door. The only thing that seems clear in both Nick and Daisy’s future is death.
I will not say much more. This book is loaded with action that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats. It is also loaded with a heart warming romance that leads to an all consuming red hot love.
Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick are both fantastic writers. Their individual works have captured the readers attention. Together they have created a phenomenal unforgettable series. The Hitman Series will not disappoint.
Last Hit started it all. Will these characters survive or die? Read the book!

Regan: I never really knew what misery was until the day I was kidnapped and sold for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Two months later, I’m at a brothel in Rio when I meet Daniel Hays. He says he’s here to save me, but can I trust him? All I know of him are his sarcastic retorts and his tendency to solve every dispute with his gun. He’s also the only safe thing in my world, and I know it’s wrong to fall in love with him, but I can’t seem to help myself. He says he’ll protect me until his last breath, but I don’t know if I should believe him or even if I can.

I’ve left the Army, turned paid hit man, and befriended criminals all across the globe to find my kidnapped sister. In every brothel I raid and every human trafficking truck I stop, I hope the next face I find is my sister’s. In a hidden brothel in Rio, I find Regan Porter, bruised but not broken, and still sane despite her weeks in captivity. There was a time when Nick loved the fear he instilled in his enemies. His tattoos alone promised danger, but it was the look in his eyes that delivered on it. A contract killer since he was just a boy, Nick has now forged a new life—and a new identity—with the woman who followed him, captured him, and changed him.

Naomi: When I was kidnapped I thought only of survival. I don’t thrive well in chaos. That’s why I gave my captors exactly what they wanted: my skill with computers. Making millions for a crime lord who kept me imprisoned in his basement compound kept my family safe. When he was taken out, I thought my ticket to freedom had arrived. Wrong. I traded one keeper for another. This time I’m in the hands of a scarred, dark, demanding Russian who happens to be the head of the Bratva, a Russian crime organization. He wants my brain and my body. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued, but I can’t be a prisoner forever…no matter how good he makes me feel.
Vasily: At a young age, I was taught that a man without power is a puppet for all. I’ve clawed—and killed—my way to the top so that it is my heel on their necks. But to unify the fractured organization into an undefeatable machine, I need a technological genius to help me steal one particular artifact. That she is breathtaking, determined, and vulnerable is making her more dangerous than all of my enemies combined. But only I can keep her safe from the world that she now inhabits. We say a quick goodbye, and to my shock, the instant I push the “end” button, Chris pulls
the 911 to the shoulder of the road, puts it in park and turns to me. “Talk to me. What just
happened?”
“You stopped to ask me what happened?”
“Yes. I stopped to ask what happened. Now, tell me.”
My lashes lower a moment as I savor just how good this man is to me. I curl my fingers
on my cheek. “Thank you for stopping, but really, there was nothing worthy of concern. Let’s go
to the chateau.”
“After you tell me what happened,” he orders, but the tenderness lacing the stubborn
determination of his tone wins me over, as does his sincerity. He really cares and I am truly not
alone anymore.
“When Katie wanted to know if there was anyone on my side of the family to coordinate
with, it hit a nerve. I started worrying about Ella, and thinking about my father, who I don’t want
to come to our wedding. I truly don’t, yet somehow, the very fact that I don’t gives him the
power to twist me in knots.”
Chris nods. “As did my father to me, no matter how much of a bastard he became.
Sometimes I think the worse he treated me, the more I wanted to win back his affection.”
I’d seen glimpses of these feelings before now, but this is the first time he’s spoken them
aloud. “Maybe it’s some inborn need to feel close to a parent?”
“That’s the only conclusion I could come to when I couldn’t let him go. I still can’t. He’s
always with me, making sure I stay just a little more fucked up.”
“If you’re fucked up, it’s all kinds of right, Chris Merit. That charity work Tristan talked
about? You don’t just throw money at it. You give pieces of your soul to those kids and their
families. You make a difference and I’ll be honored to help you do it.”
He pulls my hand to his mouth and kisses my fingers. “Let’s elope. Anyplace you want to
Say the word and as far as I’m concerned we’ll go tomorrow.”
“What? No. We decided on Katie and Mike’s place together. And my ring isn’t even
done.”
“This isn’t about a ring. Or Katie and Mike, or anyone else. It’s about us and I don’t want
you worried about your father or the guest list. You know I’m not big on attention anyway.”
I lace my fingers with his. “You’re trying to protect me and I appreciate that, but I want to
get married under those hanging rose your mother inspired Katie to plant.”
“Don’t do this for me, baby. I just want to spend the rest of my life with you. That’s all I
need.”
“It’s for us. You know my father is just a hot button for me. I’ll get by it. And truth be
told, I’m a little raw over Amber, too. That night here in Paris when I went to the club I had this
sense I needed to save her. I shouldn’t have listened to that feeling.”
“Don’t do that to yourself. You barely knew her.”
“Yet, on some level I felt her screaming for help. But I second-guessed myself and
thought it was Rebecca and Ella influencing my feelings.”
“You were a lot of the reason I pushed to get Amber help, Sara. It was just too little too
late. That’s on me, not you.”
“No-”
“Yes,” he says, stroking the hair out of my eyes, his hand staying at the back of my head.
“Now here’s what’s going to happen. We’re going to leave this all right here and I’m going to
drive us the fifteen minutes we have left to get to the chateau, where we’re going to fuck like
rabbits. Then, we’re going to eat and fuck some more. After we sleep, we’ll set some rules with
Katie about the wedding so you won’t worry about it and then we’ll fuck some more. And since I
had the caretaker that lives in the house behind the chateau stock enough food to last us a week,
we can stay in bed for days on end. Any objections so far?”
I smile and not just at his words, but at his rapid shift from dark Chris, to playful, sexy
Chris. “And if I do?”
He, leans closer to me, his breath on my ear. “I’ll just tie you to the bed.”
Yes. Please. My list of objections begins to form.
Tracey’s Review
The Inside Out series by Lisa Renee Jones finally draws to a close with ALL OF ME, the last book of the series. This book is the wrap-up for Sara McMillan and Chris Merit, and occurs concurrently with the plot of I BELONG TO YOU, Mark’s and Crystal’s story. I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series, and have grown very fond of all of the main characters, seeing them evolve, as they have. Both Sara and Chris have demons, things from their pasts that have shaped them, but they have found, in each other, their safe places. In ALL OF ME, Lisa Renee illustrates how very far Sara and Chris have come, how each makes the other their best possible self. Although they still, especially Chris, have their dark moments, there is absolutely no question that they have overcome so much of their past pain, due to the love that has formed between them. There is absolute trust, complete truth, and the desire to be the better person. Sara has truly come into her own, secure in the knowledge of her strength, of Chris’ love for her, and Chris continues to work to put his need for self-punishment behind him.
There are so many things that make the Inside Out books some of my favorites. The ongoing mystery, the lives and stories of the various characters that are so intricately connected, the utter hotness that are Chris Merit and Mark Compton, and the edge-of-your-seat action that is part of each book have combined to make these books that I can consistently rate 5-plus stars. ALL OF ME, and the entire Inside Out series, are well worth the read. Lisa Renee has done a wonderful job of bringing the reader full circle, answering all of the questions that arose during the series. The remaining mystery revolves around the disappearance of Sara’s friend, Ella (for those folks that don’t remember, , the one that originally introduced her to Rebecca’s journals waaay back when), but, happily, Lisa has written a three-book series that will take us on her journey and give us all the answers.
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones is the author of the highly acclaimed INSIDE OUT SERIES, and is now in development by Suzanne Todd (Alice in Wonderland) for cable TV. In addition, her Tall, Dark and Deadly series and The Secret Life of Amy Bensen series, both spent several months on a combination of the NY Times and USA Today lists.

Eight weeks ago I signed a contract. One that seemed like a good idea at the time. A handsome bachelor, luxury accommodations, and a chance to win a prize my family desperately needed. There were some rules though. Lots of them actually. Follow the script, no dating, sex, or disclosing the terms of the deal. After my self-imposed moratorium on men the last year, it wouldn’t be hard to live up to my end of the bargain…so I thought. Until I realized the deal I’d made was with the devil…and I was in love with his dirty-talking brother.
It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Vi Keeland’s books. I have loved every book I have read by her. Her latest release, Throb, has left the same kind of impression on me. It is a fresh, creative, and steamy. I was captivated by the plot and the characters.
Two brothers, two sibling rivalries, one hot rock star, several woman competing for the same man, and one woman that has all of these men’s attention. What do you have? One hot mess or a train wreck waiting to happen. Actually you have a tv reality show.
Rules will be broken. Brothers will betray each other. One brother is the most powerful man in Hollywood. The other brother is vying to be the king of tv reality shows. One rock star can have his choice of any woman he wants but wants the one he can’t have. Several women want to claw this woman’s eyes out. The one woman wants to get through the game and win. She needs the prize money.
Can she win this game and come out winner? Or will she come out shredded.
There are many players in this game. There can only be one winner. Or are the rules of the game going to change once again.
I absolutely loved this book. I was mesmerized from page one to the very end. The excitement, the pacing, the competition, and outcome was not clear until the very end. Not only did the reader get to experience tv reality behind the scenes, the reader got to watch a love bloom off the set and away from the camera’s.
I highly recommend Throb by Vi Keeland. It will not disappoint.
Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn’t change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting New York Times & USA Today Best Selling smut author by night!
“I tried to play a game. I tried to wield deceit as perfectly as the Hawks. But when I thought I was winning, I wasn’t. Jethro isn’t what he seems—he’s the master of duplicity. However, I refuse to let him annihilate me further.”
Nila Weaver has grown from naïve seamstress to full-blown fighter. Every humdrum object is her arsenal, and sex…sex is her greatest weapon of all.
She’s paid the First Debt. She’ll probably pay more.
But she has no intention of letting the Hawks win.
Jethro Hawk has found more than a worthy adversary in Nila—he’s found the woman who could destroy him. There’s a fine line between hatred and love, and an even finer path between fear and respect.
The fate of his house rests on his shoulders, but no matter how much ice lives inside his heart, Nila flames too bright to be extinguished.
I’d tried to destroy her, but serendipitously, she’d destroyed me.
This was the beginning of the end.
Not the end of my feelings for her but the way of my life, my world.
Something would have to change.
Something would have to give…
…
Someone would have to die.
~ Nila ~
Just thinking of Jethro sent a spasm of desire through my core.
Dammit, what’s happening to me?
A daydream of Jethro slamming to his knees before me and wrenching my legs wide stole my mind. It was so vivid, so real—a trickle of need ran down my inner thigh. I gasped as I imagined his tongue lapping at my clit, his long fingers disappearing inside me—the same finger that I’d tattooed with my name.
Would I come harder knowing he touched me with a finger branded by me? Or would I hold on as tight as I could and make him work for it?
Oh, God.
I needed to get rid of this satanic desire. I needed to be free.
My eyes opened, latching onto the detachable showerhead.
I could do it myself…
My heartbeat whizzed with need. I couldn’t fight the churning demand any longer.
Reaching upward, I unhooked the showerhead and turned the water temperature down so as not to burn myself.
Feeling awkward and ridiculous and a hundred times guilty for what I was about to do, I braced my back on the tiled wall and spread my legs a little.
My teeth clamped on my bottom lip as the water pressure tickled my clit.
Oh. My. God.
My eyes rolled back as I grew bolder and pressed the stream of heavenly water harder against my pussy.
Water cascaded down my legs while my torso shivered from sudden cold. My nipples stiffened as I wickedly angled the jet down and down until water shot inside me. Every jet and bubble aroused sensitive flesh, sending my muscles clenching in joy.
I moaned.
Loudly.
My legs trembled as my neck flopped forward and I gave myself over to the exquisite pleasure conjured by an innocuous showerhead.
Starbursts flashed behind my eyelids; Jethro loomed into my mind. I pictured him shrugging out of his black shirt, prowling toward me while unbuckling his belt and unzipping his trousers. I moaned again as my daydream shed his clothing and stood proud and naked before me. He grabbed his cock, pumping himself hard and firm, while his eyes feasted on what I was doing. He didn’t say a word, only watched, then crooked his finger and beckoned me closer.
My heartbeat exceeded recommended limits as I forced myself higher and higher, locking my knees against buckling as an orgasm brewed into being. I rocked the showerhead, biting my lip as the pressure spurted over my clit and then inside me. The rhythm I set was exactly like fucking and I daren’t overthink how I looked or how depraved I felt getting off this way.
My daydream forced its way past my misgivings. My forehead furrowed as I trembled, both welcoming and fighting an orgasm.
Daydream Jethro crept closer, working his cock, a dangerous glint in his eyes. The moment I was within grabbing distance, he captured my waist. “I need to be inside you, Nila.” I put words into Jethro’s mouth, but it was his voice I heard in my heart.
I moaned again, angling the showerhead harder against my clit.
“How do you want it?” my fantasy whispered in my ear as he spun me around and pressed me hard against the wall.
I swallowed hard, answering in my mind. “Fast and…”
“Filthy?” Daydream Jethro’s nose nuzzled the back of my ear, sending shockwaves down my spine. “I can fuck you filthy.”
I couldn’t speak. But I didn’t have to. My fantasy knew exactly how I needed it. Jethro bit the back of my shoulder, spreading my legs wider with his.
“Fuck me, Jethro Hawk,” I whispered.
“Oh, I will. Believe me, I will.” Without further warning, he dug his fingers into my hips and slammed inside me.
My fingers went numb as I slid the showerhead from clit to entrance. I cried out as water shot inside at the same time as Jethro thrust into me from behind, sliding deep and fast, stretching me deliciously painfully.
My heart exploded with bliss. An orgasm squeezed every atom, getting ready to hurl me into the stratosphere.
Jethro thrust again and I rode my new friend the showerhead.
“Oh, God. Yes,” I hissed, rocking harder. “Yes, yes…”
A masculine cough sounded. “You continue to surprise me, Ms. Weaver; at least this time, I rather enjoy it.”
Everything crashed into awareness. My daydream shattered, fracturing by my feet like broken glass. I squealed and dropped the showerhead. It turned into a water snake, spewing water left and right, wriggling like some terrible demon.
Jethro snickered. “You’re using up the entire Hall’s supply of hot water. Are you planning on saving some for the rest of the inhabitants of my home?”
Michel’s Review
The long awaited third book in the Indebted Series by Pepper Winters has finally released! Second Debt picks up where First Debt ended. Nila Weaver is reeling from the revelations that Kes Hawk told her about Kite. Kite is Jethro Hawk. With these revelations, she is trying to figure out what Jethro’s motives were. What she should feel. Does this change her fascination and draw to her sworn enemy or does this put them on even playing ground?
Nila makes a horrific discovery that turns her heart to stone where Jethro Hawk is concerned. This discovery makes her more determined to fight her impending outcome after the debts are paid. She is going to change the future for all Weaver women. She is going to take the Hawks down.
At the same time, Jethro is trying to show Nila that he is Kite. That there is another, truer side to his persona. But he is fighting to remain a Hawk and do what his birthright demands. He is horrified by his legacy. He is horrified of who he is. He is horrified that he is going to lose what little bit of Nila he has.
The Debt Inheritance will destroy them both. One will die, one will remain living but be dead inside.
Nila and Jethro can’t harness their attraction and growing feelings for one another. No matter how hard they try to deny these feelings, their souls are entwined. Their fates were sealed long before they were born. Can they change fate and create a new destiny?
Meanwhile their destinies are becoming further out of their control. Other Hawk players are stirring the ship, ensuring that the debts are paid. Each player is ruthless. They don’t really care if Jethro carries out his legacy. They only care that the latest Weaver woman pays the debts. Jethro’s legacy is only a means to an end.
The second debt is paid. It is just as horrific, if not more so. Nila barely survived the payment. Jethro barely survived extracting the payment. His family is celebrating both of their failures because now they are in control.
At the end of this book, the final scene has the reader’s mind reeling. The cliffhanger is so shocking that the reader wonders where Nila and Jethro are going to end up. I think that there are going to be a lot more than the debts the Weavers owe the Hawks. It is going to be a battle of evil verses good.
As I said new Hawk’s were introduced into this series. The Hawk women came into play. The Hawk brothers are questionable.
I am addicted to this series. It is like driving past a horrific accident and gawking at the morbid scene. Trying to figure out what happened and if anyone survived it.
I will say that the pacing of this book was slower than the other previous two books. There was a lot of back and forth, “I can” and “I can’t, “I should” and “I shouldn’t” going on. I would’ve liked to seen more dialogue between Jethro and Nila rather than the indecisiveness that was going through their heads. It was a bit repetitive. I did like that Pepper revealed more about Jethro Hawk. We got a glimpse of who is beneath the Hawk identity. I also liked that the other Hawk family members were more active in this book. It gave the reader a better understanding of the cruel background that Jethro has endured. This book also left me with so many questions.
Now I will be biting at the bits for the Third Debt to release. The Indebted Series owns me!
Indebted
Indebted Series
By Pepper Winters
Synopsis
“I own you. I have the piece of paper to prove it. It’s undeniable and unbreakable. You belong to me until you’ve paid off your debts.”
Nila Weaver’s family is indebted. Being the first born daughter, her life is forfeit to the first born son of the Hawks to pay for sins of ancestors past. The dark ages might have come and gone, but debts never leave. She has no choice in the matter.
She is no longer free.
Jethro Hawk receives Nila as an inheritance present on his twenty-ninth birthday. Her life is his until she’s paid off a debt that’s centuries old. He can do what he likes with her—nothing is out of bounds—she has to obey.
“You say I’ll never own you. If I win—you willingly give me that right. You sign not only the debt agreement, but another—one that makes me your master until your last breath is taken. You do that, and I’ll give you this.”
Nila Weaver’s family is indebted. Stolen, taken, and bound not by monsters but by an agreement written over six hundred years ago, she has no way out.
She belongs to Jethro as much as she denies it.
Jethro Hawk’s patience is running out. His inheritance gift tests, challenges, and surprises him—and not in good ways. He hasn’t leashed her but he thinks he might’ve found a way to bind her forever.
Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.
She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.
