About FURY:

Revenge is an euphoric thing. Trust me on this. Nothing compares to the release you get when you ruin someone’s life. When they’ve stolen important things. Things that didn’t belong to them. Things I revel in making them pay for.

What? Have I offended you? I’m not here to appeal to your delicate senses. I have no intention of placating your wishes or living within your personal belief system nor do I care if you hate me. And you will hate me. Because I’m a brutal, savage, cold-blooded murderer and I’m here for my revenge.

I’m Ethan Moonsong…And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most sacrificing man to the most feared and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

And now for an excerpt from FURY, due out May 4th, 2015…

I heard a snap and the light cracked on, piercing through my closed lids. My head pounded and I groaned then rolled over, pulling my cover over my head to drown out the source of my pain.

“Get up,” a deep voice commanded. “Get up,” he continued, kicking my shoe.

“Dad,” I rasped. “I’m hungover and feel like shit.”

He was silent for a moment so I pulled the cover down just enough to see his face. He was not amused.

“Ethan, watch your language, get your butt up, and find a job.” I didn’t answer him. I had nothing to say that would please him. “And while you’re at it, stop this ridiculous drinkin’, son.”

I sat up, ran my hands through my long black hair and wrapped the length around my fist. I sat back against the wall, reveling in how cool it was, and tried not to vomit.

“Did you see them today?” I asked him, unable to help myself.

My dad removed his hat and leaned against the jamb, scrubbing his face with his free hand. “You like to torture yourself,” he said, shaking his head then sighing. “You remind me so much of your mama.”

The mere mention of my mother sent me spiraling down once more in depression. We’d lost her a few years before and I was still in agony. That, coupled with the fact that Spencer Blackwell stole my girl right out from underneath my nose, was enough for me to drink to excess every night. I hate him.

“Are they,” I swallowed, afraid of his answer, “are they together now?”

My father sighed again. “Ethan, get dressed.”

“Are they?” I asked again, letting my hand drop to my side. My hair slid with it and cascaded down my back.

“You are a stubborn boy. Yes, okay? Yes, they’re together. All the more reason to move on, son.”

My body suddenly weighed a thousand pounds and I felt my head reeling. So it was true then. They were together and they would probably get married and I was going to have to sit there in that godforsaken small town and watch it all happen. I was going to get a front row seat to my own misery.

I nodded once, rested my hands on my knees for a brief moment, then ran past my dad, shouldering him as I did so and nearly knocking him over before making it to the small bathroom across the hall and retching everything in my stomach into the toilet.

My dad stood in the bathroom doorway shaking his head in disappointment. When I was done, I fell back into the wall. That look shamed me to my core. Any time my dad felt let down, I felt the weight of my disgrace so heavy the only thing I could think to dull the ache was to drink myself into a stupor. It was a vicious cycle.

I let my hair cascade over my face. I heard the old wood floor creak beneath his feet as he left without another word and jumped when the front door slammed. My eyes closed as my head pounded.

The claw foot tub sat to my left so I leaned up and turned on the water, slowly removing my clothing one piece at time. Each movement felt like a hammer slamming into my head.

“God,” I groaned. “I am an idiot.”

I stood then stepped underneath the warm water and just stood in silence, letting the water absorb into my hair and seep into my skin. I breathed in the steam deeply. I was miserable. Not just physically but my heart was the heaviest it’d felt since my mom passed and I had no one to blame but Spencer Blackwell for that.

The asshole who rode into my life under the guise of helping his sister only to yank what I thought was a stable foundation right out from underneath me. He stole from me, a bona fide thief, and I wanted to make him pay. No, I needed to make him pay.

But how?

I finished showering and threw a towel around my waist, stepping from the tub and toppling onto my bed when I reached my room and fell to sleep, not even bothering to dress myself. I fell quickly, fantasizing about my revenge.

I must have slept for hours because when I woke, it was pitch black outside. I rolled onto my side and checked my alarm clock. Eleven o’clock. Perfect timing, I thought.

I sat up and tucked my towel around my waist a little tighter, stood and went straight for my dresser. I grabbed a pair of boxers and socks and put those on before heading for my closet and tossing an old, worn pair of jeans on, a thermal and an old tee. I brushed my teeth, grabbed my wallet and keys, threw on my boots and headed toward my piece of shit truck.

I knew exactly where I was going because it was where I planned on going every night until I forgot about Caroline Hunt.

My truck started but barely and I tore out of our driveway not bothering with my seatbelt, kicking up dust and rocks as my tires spun against the loose gravel. I’d replaced my stereo because I couldn’t stand radio, at least not Kalispell radio, and plugged my phone into the audio cable. Bastille’s Dreams remake blasted and I turned it up, letting the painful lyrics wash over me, fueling my desire to get plastered as quickly as possible.

I entertained myself with thoughts of strangling Spencer Blackwell with both hands then beating the crap out of him with my fists. Bastard. I pulled into the local pub and put my piece into park before tucking my left foot into the emergency brake.

I disconnected my phone and the stereo went silent, reminding me of how alone I really was. I turned the engine off and absolute silence surrounded me. I couldn’t take it. My door creaked with age as it swung open and I slammed it shut, unable not to. The fury raging in my blood was more than I could contain.

Before heading inside, my hand went to the empty space between the cab and the bed and searched for the bottle of whiskey I always had wedged in between. I took a large swig, not wanting to spend too much of my savings on the liquor inside the crap establishment. After all, I was going to need it. Revenge was a costly business.

I took one more swig for good measure and wedged it back in its usual place then wiped my mouth on the back of my sleeve. My hair swung heavy in my eyes. It was still a little wet from my shower and I thought about tying it back with the extra leather tie I usually kept in my glove compartment but thought better of it. It helped me hide and I wanted to hide.

I looked around me. The lot was full but I only recognized a few cars this time which was good because I had no intention of making conversation. Regardless, most of Kalispell had stopped trying because I’d rarely done any responding since Cricket cut out my fucking heart and ate it raw. The hair was only insurance.

I took two deep draws of air, gulping it down, desperate for it to soothe me but, of course, it didn’t. I let each escape my lips in shaky breaths and clenched my fists over and over before deciding to head inside.

My boots crunched the gravel beneath my feet as I headed toward the door. When I entered, I ducked my head toward the floor and let my hair cover me, not that it did any good other than to conceal me. I could still feel the heat of their stares, though, still feel the pity in their gazes. I wanted so badly to yell at them to fuck off but I kept as much composure as possible. I couldn’t get kicked out of the only real bar in Kalispell.

I picked a stool at the end of the bar, the same stool I always did in the corner and in the back because it was dark. I sat and met Vi’s eyes. She sauntered over to me, placing her elbows on the bar top, giving me a clear view of her generous chest. I held back my eye roll.

“Hello, darlin’,” she drawled. “You look like shit.”

“The usual, Vi,” I told her as quietly as I could.

“How ‘bout a kiss then first?” she asked, leaning in a bit more.

“Christ, Vi, how many times? Huh? Just get me the gosh damn drink.”

She laughed. “Already worked up then, I see. I like it,” she said, winking.

Vi, or Violet, was thirty-nine years old, had lived in Kalispell her entire life, and had worked as a bartender for over fifteen years. I could tell at one time Vi had been a beautiful woman but I could also tell she had heard many hollow promises from equally hollow men and that she obviously believed them all. Otherwise, why would she still be there? I watched her tired eyes and her slightly too-forced smile. She had the look of someone who used to be chased but had graduated to the chaser. She looked miserable.

She left and returned with an empty glass and a bottle of Jack. She set the glass on the bar and filled it to the brim. She was being generous. She was always this way. She told me once she hoped I would drink it all away and decide to take her up on her offer. I told her that would be a cold day in hell, to which she only laughed.

“Drink up, buttercup,” she said, smiling lasciviously.

“I will,” I told the bar top.

I watched the world around me through the breaks in the hanging strands and six glasses later, I was starting to finally feel numb. I lifted my head a little feeling slightly relieved, feeling like I could breathe a little deeper now that the ache wasn’t so severe. I continued to search the crowd, not knowing who I was really looking for.

A quiet but persistent nagging awareness took residence in my chest for some unknown reason as I watched a girl dance on her own in the middle of the dance floor. Others around her paid no attention to her but she was the first person my eyes were drawn to. I studied her.

Her hair was tucked into a blue scarf, little tendrils peeking through and grazing across her neck whenever she moved. She was extraordinarily tall and her hips and rear end were more indulgent than I’d ever considered before. She turned slightly, giving me her silhouette. Her stomach was flat and her breasts were full. She was beautiful, I could tell, even if I couldn’t see her fully through the low lights.

“Jeez,” I said, swiping a hand down my face. “I’ve had too much.”

But I still couldn’t stop watching her. She wore worn jean cut offs, a fitted button up with the sleeves rolled up her forearms and ankle boots. She rolled her shoulders playfully, enticing someone she knew just off the dance floor. Another girl joined her side and they did the robot. She threw her head back and laughed.

This shocked me almost sober. “That laugh,” I whispered to myself. “That laugh,” I repeated. I knew it but couldn’t quite place it.

She took her friend’s hand and twirled her around the floor vivaciously. She was so full of life. So my exact opposite.

She lightheartedly skipped in place and raised an arm in salute to her friend before turning toward me.

That’s when I got a good, clear look at her. I gasped out loud and placed my hand on the back of my head, my elbow on the bartop, ducking my head down lower to hide myself further.

Please, please, please do not recognize me, I thought, still watching her from the corner of my eye.

She stood two seats down from me. “Vi!” she said, laughing a little. “Vi!”

Vi turned toward her. “Hey, baby! What’ll it be?”

“Can I have a water, please?” she asked, sitting down and releasing a breath of exhaustion. She continued to smile, though, and it ate a little at my gut.

“Of course,” Vi answered and started to pour water into a clear plastic cup. Vi’s eyes pinched a little. “Hey?” she said.

“Yeah?” she asked.

“How come I never see you drink anything harder?”

Her face fell a little but picked right back up. No one would have noticed it but me. “I’ve never had good luck with alcohol,” she admitted a bit sadly.

Vi was quick enough to recognize something there that didn’t want to be said and let it go with a nod, handing over the water without another word.

“Vi!” someone else called out and she walked their direction.

She took a long drink from her water and set it down, turning toward the crowd and surveying the dancers. A small smile tugged at the corner of her mouth, some private joke she shared with herself.

I looked on her for a long time. Long enough for my heart to calm itself. Long enough to struggle with myself in an internal argument. Finally, I decided that I wasn’t watching her because I found her attractive, though I knew she was. Only that I was wondering what she was doing there.

She turned around in her seat after catching her breath and glanced at me. For a moment, I believed she didn’t recognize me but I was wrong. A second scan confirmed it for her. She leaned in and narrowed her eyes. Shit.

Ethan?” she asked. “Is that you?”

“Hello, Finley,” I answered.

 Excerpt

“Do you think I’m a con artist or a victim?”

“I think you’re a woman who has been hurt.” No denying that. “One of my team members, Wade Monroe, is contacting the Montgomery family. We’ll get DNA from them and find out—”

“If I’m Jessica.” There was hope in the words. Enough hope to break his heart.

Gabe nodded.

“When will we know?”

It would take a few days, even with the strings that he could pull. “As soon as possible,” he said, not wanting to give her a specific timetable.

“Thank you.” Then, just like that, she was across the car, giving him a tight hug. “Thank you.”

His arms wrapped around her, an instinctive response. She smelled faintly of flowers, a sweet scent that teased his nose, and her body was soft against his.

She tried to pull away, as if realizing what she’d just done.

For an instant he was tempted to hold her, to keep her close.

She’s a client. Focus.

He let her go, but his body ached.

“I … um … I should get inside.”

Yes, she should. While he was still clutching tight to his control. The control that said he shouldn’t push her. Shouldn’t want her so much. Not when she’d already been hurt so badly.

Her fingers reached for the door.

“Let me,” he said, voice rumbling, and Gabe climbed from the Jag. In seconds he was on the passenger side, opening her door for her. She rose, and her body brushed against his.

He stepped back. Distance. He seriously needed to put some distance between then. But even with some fast steps back, he could still smell that light and sexy scent that clung to her body.

And he still wanted her.

“Your shrink asked me a lot of questions about you,” Eve told him as she stood temptingly close.

Gabe inclined his head. “I’m sure—”

“I think she wanted to know why I respond so much to you.”

Oh, hell, she’d just said … He cleared his throat even as part of his body surged in quick response to her. “It’s a tense situation, you’re—”

“You don’t look at me as if I’m a victim.”

He stopped talking.

“I mean, you know what I am, but you still look at me and seem to just see me … as a woman.”

“Others see you the same way.” Doc Tyler sure did. Bastard.

“It’s different with you,” she murmured as she stepped even closer to him. Her head had tilted back so she could look into his eyes. “I don’t know what I’ve felt for other men before.”

Why did the idea of others have his body knotting with tension?

“But I know that when I see you, I want.” A hushed confession. “I just … I needed to tell you that.”

And he needed to make his self-control a hell of a lot stronger. Her lips were just inches from his, and he wanted her mouth beneath his. Wanted her lips open. Needed to taste her.

“You’re the first man I’ve wanted since I opened my eyes in that hospital.”

He could actually feel his control splintering. Client. Cli—

“You probably don’t want me. I—I might not be your type.”

Now her gaze had fallen, as if in embarrassment. Had she really just asked if she was his type?

She was probably every damn man’s type.

“But you make me feel normal again, so I had to tell you—”

His fingers curved under her chin. “Eve …”

Her smile was a little too big. Too bright. “I don’t think I can handle anything else right now, I’m …” She pulled away. Stumbled onto the sidewalk. “I just wanted to tell you how I felt,” she told him again.

Then she walked into the shelter, her steps hurried. As if she were running.

From him.

He stared after her. She wanted him.

And she was so beyond his reach.

Michel’s Review

Fans of Melody Anne are going to love this book.  Readers that are new to this author’s work are in for a pleasant surprise if they are looking for a contemporary romance that is an easy read and not overly thought provoking. For readers that are looking for that extra something special, this is not the book. The overall plot does not have a new formula that will have the reader oohing and awing over the originality. In the same token, although the overall plot was predictable, it was entertaining.

A random meeting in Paris leads to a one night stand. Alyssa is a famous model and Jackson is your brilliant billionaire. Alyssa is the rebound after getting out of hurtful relationship. Jackson is also gun shy where relationships are concerned.

Both end up in the same small Montana town. Alyssa ends up pregnant. Her trust issues hinder her from moving forward with Jackson. Jackson pretty much bends over backwards for Alyssa.

After a lot of back and forth, pushes from friends and relatives, and final surrender the two finally get together. Their precious child is the glue that kept them from completely falling apart.

I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Alyssa seemed a little too hard, too judgmental, and too unforgiving. Jackson also came across as a bit clueless, which contradicted his known intelligence. I also felt that this series made too many references to the series it spun off of. It almost felt like I had to back track and read that series in order to stay afloat in this series.

Overall Her Unexpected Hero was entertaining. Personally I look for a plot that is a bit more intricate, I look for stronger character development, and I look for twist and turns to make the story unpredictable. I had this story nailed throughout the book. There were no surprises that endeared me to this story.

Michel’s Review

Captive by Brighton Walsh is the perfect title for this book.  This book held me Captive from the very first paragraph until the very last word.  It was more than your typical Stockholm Syndrome type of book.  It was an intense and unusual type of kidnapping.  The captor and captive learned so many things about their lives.  They learned that there was more to who and what they were.  They also learned they had the power to change.  They also learned what real love really meant.  At the same time, they were both in precarious situation that neither had complete control of.  The person pulling the strings had more on his agenda than what was originally planned.

Madison Frost may seem like the typical privileged girl on the surface but beneath the facade is a very insecure unhappy girl.  She may have every frivolity that money can buy.  She may be exceptionally smart and well educated.  She may come across as aloof and high browed.  She is far form what she appears.  She has been grossly neglected by her family.  She has been raised in a disturbing environment.  She has had to witness her mother’s substance and alcohol abuse.  She has become a caretaker.  She is not your typical twenty year old college student.  Life is far from the carefree attitude people her age are entitled to having.  She is miserable.  She lacks self confidence and feels unloveable.

When Madison is abruptly kidnapped after class, her life now takes a new turn.  She is frightened for herself, worried about her mother, and praying for once that her parents will put her first.  She knows she is in a very dangerous situation and that she has to find her inner strength to survive.

Ghost was hired to kidnap Madison Frost.  He is an expert in his line of work.  He researches his victims.  He leaves no room for error.  All of his research could of never prepared him for Madison Frost.  She is everything that is not included in his intel.  Her fortitude, strength, and intelligence has him floored.  Her revelations about her life have him astounded.  This girl is much more valuable than the price put on her head.  He will do everything in his power to make sure she comes out of this situation without one single blemish.  She is the only one that matters in this game.

The job has spiraled out of control.  The person that hired him has changed the game plan.  The unknown is making Ghost very nervous about the outcome.  He is a seasoned professional, he is going to make a new play and prays that Madison will come out of this unscathed.

After all is said and done, both Madison and Ghost will be forever changed.  Their fleeting moments together will affect how they pursue their own futures.  Neither one has come out of the situation without scars.  It will be up to each of them how they chose to heal.

Captive was an intense story.  There was an intensity to it on all levels.  The suspense from the kidnapping, the mystery of who is behind the kidnapping, the undeniable chemistry between Ghost and Madison, the psychological results of the kidnapping, and finally the practical and intelligent resolutions in this story blew me away.  I was held Captive.

Brighton Walsh is definitely going on my must read author list.  Her writing has everything I look for in a story.  Her character development, intricate plots, and delivery of the story is well executed.

I am looking forward to the next book in the Captive Series.  It will feature Ghost’s brother Riley. Exposed will release on July 21, 2015. Each book can be read as a stand alone novel.

Read Captive… it will not disappoint.

Synopsis

Falling is easy. Landing without breaking your heart? Impossible.

Fall or Break, Book 1

Harper is no longer behind bars, but it doesn’t feel like it. Ten years serving time for a crime he didn’t commit have left him shut down, numb, and a frozen wreck over the simplest of choices.

He’s acutely aware of the dark-haired young man checking him out in the supermarket, but he’s too deep in panic mode to even meet the guy’s gaze. Afraid the slightest move will trigger a fall that will never stop.

Fresh off a long-term relationship with a controlling man, Malachi is stuck living with relatives who think he’s a waste of oxygen. The tall guy in the long, gray coat is the first bright spot he’s glimpsed in a long time…though the man’s unblinking stare at a bottle of shower gel is a touch alarming.

Hard experience tells both of them to turn away before lust turns to hopeless attraction, and inevitably to disaster. But once their sparks connect, the arc of electricity is too strong to deny. Even if the cost is too much to bear.

Warning: Contains an ex-con with disaster written all over him, a boy toy who’s trouble with a capital T, a damp old British house, compulsive meddling, and enough hot sex to cure the severe case of nervous babbling.

Tina’s Review

All Male Romance. Setting: England.
Immediately, I fell in love with the character of Malachi. Harper took a little more time to warm up to. Both have such uniquely tragic pasts. Malachi was miserable, as the submissive partner to an over-dominant man for too long. Harper was falsely convicted and imprisoned for ten years. Both are trying to make adjustments to their new lots in life.
There’s a full cast of secondary characters that create a rich spectrum of personality types. The dialogue and interactions are believable, natural and brimming with humanity of the best and worst kind. This entire book is a study in conflicts, better is how those conflicts are resolved. Mature and time-appropriate progression, with an allowance for mistakes and misunderstandings to be corrected. The plot is deceptive in that it seems like it will be a straight-forward contemporary, but there is a lot of hidden conspiracy and mystery going on. Festering hatred and blind ignorance fuel crimes both old and new and leave Harper and Malachi in a tailspin of what-the-f@ckery. There was very little predictability; in fact, my short list of top suspects were all wrong. That does not happen often. I would have liked to have known if the culprit knew him prior to the initial contact (that’s about the best way I can phrase is while not giving away a spoiler). The conclusion was very solid. There were no cliffhangers.
This was a very enjoyable read. Emotional and suspenseful.

Ashley’s Review

“No one is normal. Everyone is just pretending to be normal.” –Deanna Madden

Deanna Madden has been locked in her apartment for 3 years, by choice. Confined to her small 900 square-foot apartment, she relies on her drug addicted neighbor, Simon Evans to lock her in each night from the outside world by continuing to supply him with prescription pills in exchange for this small but very important task.

Using the internet as her escape, a means of interacting with society and her means of an income, she lives by the alias Jessica Beth Reilly where she makes her living as an internet adult entertainment superstar fulfilling the fantasies of those with odd and eclectic tastes. When she is contacted by RalphMA35 who has a bizarre and quite concerning appetite for young girls, Deanna is left questioning what she should do.

When her regular UPS delivery man named Jeremy, who has been delivering packages outside her door for the past three years via verbal approval from Deanna from behind her apartment door brings a package but doesn’t get his typical response from the girl inside; Jeremy takes a chance, twisting the knob to 6E to check on the girl inside. What he discovers and what ensues within the apartment sets in motion a nail biting suspense that’ll have you hooked till the past page.

While her clientele think she’s a bubbly 19 year old college student, “Jessica” is far more sinister than anyone could imagine… she’s got hunger to kill.

“That’s the reason I stay away from people. Because I want to kill. Constantly. It’s almost all I think about.”

This is the first book I’ve read by A.R. Torre who also writes as Alessandra Torre. This book is unique as I’ve never read anything like it. The characters are so well developed, the plot is weaved so brilliantly, and the author obviously did extensive research into the adult online entertainment community to make this story as realistic as possible. I’d classify this story as romantic/suspense/psychological thriller. It’s not your typical HEA and its not cookie cutter, its raw and jaw dropping. It’d definitely got a shock factor that’ll captivate readers. This story is a solid 4 stars and I cannot wait until the next installment!

Michel’s Review

I have been a huge fan of Elle Kennedy’s writing for years.  I loved her Out of Uniform series and Killer Instincts series.  Her After Hours series is sizzling hot.  She has a way of bringing her characters to life and making them demand your absolute attention.  Her books have a combination of witty dialogue, dynamic characters, a well developed plot, and pacing that keeps the reader enthralled.  Most of her books have either been erotic romance or romantic suspense.  I was wondering how she would pull off a New Adult romance.  New Adult romance is a generalized genre that can contain sweet & sexy, dark & intense, angsty & anxious, or exciting & erotic.  The Deal has all of these elements and more.  It is one of the most enjoyable and entertaining New Adult romances that I have read.  I connected with the main characters as well as the secondary characters.  They were all larger than life in their own way.  The one thing that stood out besides the main characters romance was Elle’s portrayal of college life.  She portrayed a very realistic look at life on the college campus and how it relates to their courses as well as social life.

Garrett Graham is the bad boy of the college hockey team.  He makes panties melt and owns his man whore reputation with relish.  He has an overinflated ego that matches his cocky attitude.  He is a star player and lives for playing hockey.  He is diligent with his grades, practices, and performance.  When he fails his philosophy mid term, it could not only ruin his GPA, it will affect his position on the team.  He could lose the one thing he lives for.  He is going to have to retake his philosophy mid term and ace it in order to remain on the team.  He needs help.  Who better to help him than one of the few students that managed not only to pass the mid term but ace it.  He never really noticed Hannah Wells before until she accidentally dropped her exam and he saw her A. Now he is on a mission to get Hannah to tutor him.  He will try to bribe her, entice her, and woo her.  When he discovers the golden carrot that will make her give in, he will dangle it in every way he can. His life is counting on that golden carrot.

Hannah Wells is a music major.  She is a pretty confident and outgoing girl with her friends and peers.  She is smart, personable, and resilient.  She is dedicated to her craft.  The one area she lacks in is her confidence with the opposite sex.  She has finally found a guy that she is interested in and she has no clue how to deal with her attraction. Not only is he out of her league, he is also the star quarterback on the football team.  Not the type of guy she would normally take an in interest in.   She has had some very bad experiences with the opposite sex.  Although she has mostly overcome her issues, she is still a bit leery and scared.  If she can get past her fears, she may be able to approach him.

When the ego maniac sex god, Garrett Grant, approaches her to tutor him in philosophy, she thinks he is out of his ever loving mind.  There is no way she is going to tutor the self absorbed jock.  That is until he finds out her ultimate weakness and offers her a guaranteed solution.  His persistence and golden carrot are enough to make her cave.  It’s time to make a deal with the Devil.

Hannah and Garrett are in for some big surprises.  They are both quite different than they appear on the surface.  Hannah may have the upper hand when the tutoring begins but Garrett will quickly take control of the situation.  Both will be in for a great learning experience.  Both will come out winners in the end.  Their Deal will seal both their fates.

I loved the banter between Garrett and Hannah.  The snarky sarcasm, witty comebacks, and dirty talking are beyond clever and entertaining.  The heated bedroom scenes make your temperature burn out of control.  The emotional and intimate moments will have you swooning.  What I loved best is how they formed a deep respect and friendship with one another.  They were able to honestly confide in one another and know that their trust was not misplaced.

I loved everything about this book! Read The Deal by Elle Kennedy.

I am looking forward to the next book in the Off-Campus series.  The Mistake will release in June of 2015.  It is a complete mystery of who this book will feature or what their story is about.

Synopsis

A onetime bad girl comes home to small-town Oregon in the first in a sexy, heartfelt new series from USA TODAY bestselling author Maisey Yates

The straitlaced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her as if she’s the same teenage hoodlum who fled town ten years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man, but to a bed-and-breakfast. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw…

Eli works too hard to let a blonde ball of trouble mess up his town. But keeping an eye on Sadie makes it tough to keep his hands off her. And if she’s so wrong for him, why does being with her feel so right?

Tracey’s Review

Sadie Miller has come home to Copper Ridge, Oregon, to put a past of running away far behind her. A decade of moving from one place to the next has left her rootless and without any real sense of self. By coming back to the place that she’s always seen as the start of all of her problems, she hopes that she will finally be able to lay old ghosts to rest. Eli Garrett is the poster boy for stability. As both deputy sheriff and part owner of the family ranch, he’s been the glue that holds his family together, following one tragedy after another. He likes order and rules, and is not ready for the changes that Sadie brings with her.

I am a big fan of the Copper Ridge series by Maisey Yates. The small-town community, the richly drawn characters, and the absolutely wonderful dialogue all come together to make these books immensely readable. I fell in love with Eli from the minute he stepped into the story, with his stoicism and order. It was just a matter of time before Sadie, with her quirkiness and her ideas for change snapped him right out of any sense of complacency and rocked his world. These two could not be more different, and have little in common other than a white-hot desire for each other. Until, that is, they begin to spend time together, and to reveal pieces of themselves that show that they are more than they appear to be. Both have very real shadows coloring their pasts, things that have molded them into the people that they are. It is being with each other that allows them to face their demons and evolve into stronger people, both separately and together.

While Maisey covers some serious subject matter, there are also plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Maisey has a real gift for writing dialogue, both internal and between her characters, and I spent much of the book giggling to myself. And sexy time, Maisey has that down. The heat between Eli and Sadie is palpable, and their growing emotional connection heartfelt. And Connor, Kate, Liss, Jack, and all of the citizens of Copper Ridge make this a cast of folks worth getting to know. 5 stars for Part Time Cowboy, a book that shows that you really can go home again.
