The first three installments of the Sexual Awakenings series by Angelica Chase have focused on the evolving relationship between Rhys and Violet. The tempo of the dance between the two of them has steadily increased, reached its crescendo, and brought them here, to their grand finale. In CURTAINS, we, as readers, get to see things from both Rhys’ and Violet’s point of view, gaining some insight as to what has led them both to this point in their lives and their relationship with each other. I enjoyed finally getting a glimpse into what had shaped Rhys, what had led to his relationship with Sandra, and, ultimately, to his desire to be with Violet. Violet, for her part, is finally able to put her past with Alex behind her, and to be comfortable and secure in what she’s found with Rhys. Both Rhys and Violet are able to take their final positions on the stage of their performance, and to bring down the curtain on past events once and for all.

Angelica Chase did a great job of writing a fast-paced and engaging series that had me hooked from page one. I have looked forward to each next book, watching both Rhys and Violet change in ways that ultimately brought them to exactly where they needed to be. Their interactions are always intense and almost always hot and sexy. Having read each book and waited impatiently for the next, I am completely happy with how things were wrapped up. The epilogue in this book lends the perfect touch, closing things out with a bang, which is nothing less than I’ve come to expect and enjoy from Angelica. Once again, 5 steam, sexy, and extremely satisfying stars.

Grayson Parker’s return home to Lonesome Point isn’t exactly a happy homecoming. Not only is he having to work to rebuild his family ranch, he’s also taking care of his sister, Layla, who has come back home to escape an abusive marriage. Reece Hearst, hometown girl and rodeo star, is hiding from some things herself, and hopes that a quick trip back to the town she couldn’t wait to leave will give her the respite that she’s looking for. When Reece approaches him in a bar on Christmas Eve looking for some no-strings fun (the kind that he hasn’t been interested in for a very long time), Grayson can’t help but be intrigued. Jessie has created characters that touch the heart, that draw me, as a reader, in, and keep me turning the pages until I’ve taken in every word. GLITTER AND GRIT, Jessie’s latest Lonesome Point book, continues the trend, in such a wonderful way. Grayson is probably one of my favorite of Jessie’s men to date. He’s honorable, strong, committed to those that he loves, and not afraid to go after what he wants. Reece, too, is her own person. She’s gone through a lot, and is afraid to form deep bonds because of it. Seeing her evolve into a woman willing to take on her demons and emerge not only victorious, but free to grow into a woman able to forgive and love, is absolutely heartwarming. Grayson and Reece both have baggage, and some heavy stuff at that. Uncomfortable issues are raised in this book, things that are all too present in the real world, but, in typical Jessie fashion, the darkness is conquered with love. There is humor, seriously hot sexy times, witty banter, and the kind of love that makes my toes tingle because it’s just SO wonderful. Talk about ‘feels,’ this book is full of them.

Jessie has raised the bar with each new book, so I’m waiting to see what’s next for Lonesome Point. I’m really hoping that Layla and Cole get their book next, because the seeds were sown in GLITTER AND GRIT, and I’m definitely ready to see where those two go. No matter which book is next, though, it can’t come soon enough. 5+ ‘get this book and read it now’ stars.

I highly recommend this book. I am going to read this entire series. I loved the characters and their own little family unit.

Gratifying. Satisfying. I don’t think I could have dreamed of a better ending for Livvy Holland’s story. Livvy is like the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. It was perfect in all aspects. And when I sit back and think about it, I realize the entire series was crafted to perfection by author Lori Otto.

The Choisie series is unusual in that it begins with the young adult novel, Contessa, transitions to mature young adult with Olivia and Dear Jon, and then leaps into the new adult genre with Livvy. It’s a spinoff of the Emi Lost & Found series – a coming of age story about Olivia Sophia Holland, the adopted daughter of Jackson Holland and his wife, Emi. Although family relationships are important to this story, the Choisie series is truly about Livvy growing up and falling in love.

Throughout the Choisie series, Livvy experiences ups and downs in her relationship with her parents, especially with her father. Livvy is bright, artistic, and a dreamer. Her father wants to hold on to his little princess. His Contessa. Livvy is extremely willful. She wants to spread her wings, think for herself, and be more independent. Jacks is a protective father. He wants some semblance of control over her decisions. But at the age of sixteen, Livvy is falling deeply in love with Jon Scott. She wants to make adult decisions. She wants to be in an adult relationship with Jon. Do you remember what it felt like to fall in love?

I have remained steadfast in my support of the Choisie series because I absolutely adore Lori Otto’s writing. But it’s more than her impeccable writing style. It’s her gift of developing believable characters and capturing the interest of readers who become fully invested in the story. It’s her ability to write beautiful and fulfilling endings for her characters. Characters are fully developed over the course of the series. Relationships are mended. Differences are resolved. Ryley’s Revenge was a complete unexpected surprise. We met Ryley Jameson and Ashleigh Warren in A Fighter’s Desire Part 1. This couple captured our attention along with Ryley’s twin brother Camden. When all was said and done, no one really got their happily ever after. Ashley had left Ryley and went back to her college sweetheart , Collin. After a pregnancy scare that could have been Ryley’s child, Ashleigh realizes she has made a mistake leaving Ryley for Collin. Now she is back and ready to fight for Ryley’s love.

Ryley was heartbroken when Ashleigh left him for Collin. He was also hurt by his twin brother’s actions and reactions to his relationship with Ashleigh. Ryley has been betrayed by the two people he loves the most. When Ashleigh comes back from Aspen wanting to rekindle their relationship, he’s still angry over her betrayal. He almost lets her go a second time but realizes that love is more important than pride. He mans up, swallows his pride, and sets his focus on restoring his relationship with Ashleigh.

Ryley will have to choose between love and blood. Ryley has more on the line than losing his brother, he could lose the Ashleigh and his future family.

Ryley’s Revenge was much more than a romance that revolves around the MMA fighting world. It is about making choices that will define the kind of person you are at the end of the day. It’s about learning to love despite all of the opposition standing in the way. It is about sacrificing oneself for the one you love with all your heart. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. We got a taste of what’s to come with Paxton and Gabriella. I am also hoping somewhere along the way Camden is going to be redeemed.

Wow! Backstage by A.M. Madden was a fantastic rock star romance. It can be read as a stand alone novel or in series order. I would highly recommend reading the entire Back-Up series. Each book is well written and highly entertaining.

Trey Taylor has been an enigma throughout this series. He is a man of mystery that hides behind the shades he always wears. Those shades hide the true glimpse into Trey Taylor’s soul.

We meet Trey when he was eighteen years old. He has come from a very troubled home life. It has left deep scars upon his soul. He doesn’t depend on his parents and keeps mostly to himself. There is one exception, his girlfriend, Taylor. They are planning to run away together on her eighteenth birthday. Tragedy strikes and Trey is left alone and broken. The only solace he has is his guitar. He vows to leave home and never look back.

Trey has struggled along the way. His coping mechanism is sex and music. He doesn’t let anyone in and keeps everyone at arms length. His success with Devil’s Lair has kept him in the spotlight, available to women, and able to hide the pain he has carried around for years.

Through it all the reader was able to experience the wealth of emotions that Trey Taylor had to experience to come full circle. This was more than a rock star love story. It was a story of learning about love in every form.

I highly recommend reading Backstage by A. M. Madden. It will not disappoint!
