He broke our gaze to nod out the window at the skyline, walking toward me as he said, “I’m sure you found the Empire.”
Though his focus was now on the scenery, I didn’t take my eyes off him as he approached. He didn’t stop until he was right beside me. So close our shoulders would touch if I coughed. Tension ran off him like foam spilling over from a mug of beer. Good tension. Bad tension. I wasn’t sure if there was a difference when it came to Donovan.
Which was why I was screwed if he was here.
Why the hell was he here?
“I thought you were in Tokyo.” I couldn’t stop staring at him. He’d gotten more refined with age, and rougher at the same time. His hair was short and his curls gone, giving him a polished look he lacked before. The lines by his eyes were more defined and his expression seemed harder than I’d remembered. It made him sexier.

Oh, my holy whoa. Just, O.M.Gasp! I think that my e-reader might still be smoldering after this one. Yes, author Laurelin Paige is back, and she is ON it!
The prequel book in Laurelin’s Dirty Duet series, DIRTY FILTHY RICH BOYS grabbed me from Word One and did not let up. In this book, she’s written a couple of rich privileged college boys, up to all of the things that you might expect. But, wait, there’s more. Because there are secrets here, and I’m betting that they are going to be something else when they come to light in DIRTY FILTHY RICH MEN, the next book up. Can you say ‘cliffhanger’? Oh, I can guarantee that the next book is going to be all kinds of awesome, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it, because I need, yes, need to know what makes Donovan Kincaid and Weston King tick, and just how Sabrina Lind plays into their plans.

And after an incident in my brother’s office closet―a downright dirty incident―I think I’m just the guy to deliver.

Five minutes later, the valet pulls up with my car. Genevieve raises an eyebrow. “A Bugatti?”
I’m so impressed she can name the model that I practically jizz in my pants. “It’s the best.”
She shakes her head, and I swear I hear her mutter something about rich men and their toys, but I don’t respond, too occupied with inspecting my car and then passing the attendant the cash I promised him earlier for returning my vehicle in perfect condition.

I nearly shiver at my own vile thoughts.
Glad she can’t know what I’m thinking, I flash her a smile. “So. Where am I taking you?”
“I’m staying at the Park Hyatt on 57th Street.”
“Fancy.” The Park Hyatt is one of the nicest luxury hotels in New York. That means this girl has money, which isn’t a bad thing. Just, the swell of my wallet in my back pocket is usually one of my better attributes. If wealth doesn’t attract her, I hope I’m not shit out of luck when it comes to getting an invitation up to her room.
Apparently, I’m transparent because she asks, “Not impressed?”
“Quite the opposite. I’m worried you won’t have a reason to be impressed with me.” Now I’m the one who can’t believe how honest I’m being.
“It’s a valid worry,” she says after a beat, and I can’t tell if she’s teasing or being blunt. Can’t tell if I should prepare for gut-wrenching disappointment or dive into another round of sexy banter.
I concentrate on my driving instead, speeding up before slipping expertly into a tight opening in the adjacent lane.
I’ll admit I’m showing off.
“Smashing,” she says with a tone that vibrates through my body like I’m a tuning fork.
Then, abruptly, she laughs, and I turn my head toward her, alarmed at the source of her amusement.
“I still can’t believe you drive a Bugatti in the city. I can’t decide if that makes you brilliant or as mad as a bag of ferrets.”
“Brilliant, of course.” Though, with her so close, I feel more like I’m going crazy. “What can I say? I like things that are fast.”
“Of course you do.”
“You don’t?” I raise a questioning brow. “Maybe you don’t understand how awesome fast can be.” I put my foot on the gas and race down the next block to prove my point.
The traffic light turns red as I approach the intersection, and I ease the brakes. “See? Fast is fun.”
“The problem with fast is it’s over too quickly.”
Is that innuendo? Her gaze pierces into me, and the air around us feels tight and charged, and I’m suddenly certain that I will die if I don’t get to taste her tonight.
Even if she didn’t mean anything more when she made her statement, I certainly do when I say, “Don’t worry. I know when to take my time.”
She exhales, slowly, and I swear I can feel it. As though she’s already in my arms and her breath is grazing every inch of my bare skin. No matter what happens after this, I know she at least feels this…this attraction. Or whatever it is.
Her voice is low and sultry when she replies. “You’re not talking about cars anymore. But do you really take your time? I’d guess you bolt the minute you’re finished.” She’s so blunt, so direct, and I don’t know if it’s a her thing or an English thing, but I like it.
I also like this conversation we’re having. Because we’re drawing the lines, and that means the potential for tonight is high. So I answer with a nod, making sure she understands that she’s correct in thinking I’ll bolt. Because I will.

Well, if you’re wondering whether author Laurelin Paige could possibly give us another Pierce brother that we would love as much as Hudson, the answer is a resounding YES! Chandler Pierce is sexy, self-confident, and full of swagger, and he stole my heart from the very first page.
It’s been a while since I’ve read a book by Laurelin Paige, but when I saw that CHANDLER was next on her list, I couldn’t say yes quickly enough. First off, I love all of her books, and, secondly, he’s a Pierce. Yep, of that Pierce family, so you know that things are going to be interesting. Well, let me just say, she has nailed it with this book, and written a character and a story that I couldn’t get enough of.
Chandler Pierce has never wanted for anything. His siblings call him spoiled, but, hey, he knows what he wants, and he goes for it. Never having wanted for attention from the fairer sex, Chandler is a little bit thrown for a loop when he meets Genevieve Fasbender. Chandler is captivated from their first encounter, but, Genevieve, eh, not so much, even going so far as to let him know that, despite their steamy night together, well, she’s just not that into him. Chandler knows, though, he just knows that he can change her mind, and so it begins.
I love absolutely everything about this book. Chandler is full of himself, but also unsure at times, which endeared him to me no end. He’s pretty straightforward, and his inner dialogue had me cracking up. Sexy and funny, how can that not be a winner? And Genevieve, or Genny, as Chandler calls her, is a perfect match for Chandler, because she puts him through all of the paces, and awakens a side of him that he never knew existed. Did I say hot? Yep…
Once I picked up this book, I could not put it down. It was a speed read for me because I loved it that much. And, while CHANDLER has plenty (hint: that means a LOT) of sexy time, what I really enjoyed was the dynamic between Chandler and Genny. Watching a ladies’ man with no interest in a relationship meet his match is one of my favorites, and that it is done with such humor and affection makes CHANDLER one of my favorite reads of 2016. And, bonus, we get to visit with the one and only Hudson Pierce and his family, including his daughter Mina, who steals several scenes, as well Chandler’s heart. Although the characters from the earlier books are part of this one, CHANDLER can easily be read as a standalone. Whether you’re a long-time fan of new to Laurelin’s books, you’ll want to get started on this one ASAP.
